Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 28 | Robyn Nice | Unknown | An anonymous singer/songwriter whose music largely resides in the loner-folk and sound art idioms, none of the releases attributed to him mention the name Robyn Nice. Instead, this is the earliest known identity under which he was creatively active and has consequently become a de facto way to refer to the individual behind the body of work given that every recording he has issued is credited to a unique artist or ensemble. While the confirmed personnel on early group recordings suggests a youth at least partially spent in Hammond, Louisiana, the bulk of the artist's output is believed to derive from time spent living in the greater Chicago area, though it is unknown if he still resides there or how contemporaneous any of his recordings were with their release. As well, given the unconventional distribution of most of these releases (i.e. turning up in thrift shops, anonymously dumped in independent record stores, featuring in specialty collectors' mail-order lists), they tend to trade hands for greater-than-average prices on the rare occasions that they do surface. No official point of contact for the artist exists, but the Rabbit Run Down The Hole Of A Skull blogspot fansite is considered a good source for what little information is known; an unofficial Bandcamp page streams audio of the known releases, many of which are on the Discogs database. As of this writing, it is known that several small-run lathe-cut discs were released in 2017 in addition to those from the same series already featuring on this page. Fans of Robyn Nice are hopeful that, in time, information about these recordings will also become readily available. |

Search | Add | 28 | Teresin Jaen | Tereso de Jesús Jaén | Teresín Jaén was considered the most popular Panamanian cumbia musician of the 20th century, born in the corregimiento of La Palmira in the district of Las Tablas in the province of Los Santos on June 23rd, 1942. When he was young he and his family moved to El Sesteadero, where he grew up and where his father was dedicated to agriculture. From an early age he played the accordion with ease, usually using the accordion of his brother Salvador Jaén. The first songs he played were "Me Voy Con Soledad" (I'm Going With Soledad) and "Comiendo Caramelos" (Eating Candies) which were popular during his childhood and adolescence. His first performance was in a small village called Quindi in the district of Pedasí in the 1950s. He had to replace his brother on the accordion because he was injured. Teresín also played the churuca (a Panamanian guiro) for 25 cents. His first presentation outside the province of Los Santos was in the province of Chiriquí, along with his group [a=Conjunto Alma Interiorana]. His first record, released by [l=Grabaciones Luna] in 1961, was Rosa / Borracho Y Amanecido, which sold 20,000 copies, a record at the time in Panama. His nicknames were "El Zurdito De Oro" (The Golden Lefty) and "El Taquillero" (The King of the Box Office) because his shows were always full and sold out. He was also one of the best paid accordionists of the time, earning $20,000 in 4 days during the Carnaval of 1975. He had a hard time managing his fame, often falling into excesses, and he also suffered from alcoholism. He had 8 cars of the highest cylinder for the time. His personal life was very controversial, he had many children with various lovers all over the country. Later in life his popularity faded and he went into poverty in the early 1990s. He was abandoned by his family and friends, his house was in ruins, and he lived alone. Only his cousin César Jaén visited to pay for utilities and food. In a 2002 interview he said that he had been living this way for the past 12 years. He died on August 8th, 2004 when he was hit by a car. On the night of his death hundreds of fans and friends gathered at Belisario Porras Park in the city of Las Tablas. His funeral was presided over by the bishop of the diocese of the provinces of Herrera and Los Santos, in the legendary Church Tableña de Santa Librada, where hundreds of people gathered, including several Panamanian musicians and accordionists. His remains lie in the Francisco González Roca cemetery in Las Tablas. In his lifetime he recorded 580 singles, 1 CD, and 4 LPs. |

Search | Add | 28 | Moonshine Stalkers | Formally known as Killing Seymour, this band have been around for a while. After Killing Seymour lost their vocalist, the rest of the band decided to go on the hunt for a new singer, whilst in the meantime using guitarist, Ricky, to fill in on vocal duties. After a few gigs and some thought, the boys decided that they were doing just fine as a three piece. With Ricky on guitar and vocals permanently, they started to work on new material. With this came a new sound with a totally different feel to the music, and in one smooth transition they became, The Moonshine Stalkers. With each of the band members having such varied musical tastes and influences, its hard to pin point any one type of style to tag their sound, but if you like psychobilly punk rockin' noise, and you like it loud and freakin' fast, then check out THE MOONSHINE STALKERS! In the summer of 2011, The Moonshine boys made some changes to the sound...and with the help of another guitarist/vocalist, Andy Kandil, stripped the sound down to a zero bullshit assault on the brain. Also, the boys walked in Camden Recording Studios and recorded an EP"LOOK WHOS STALKING" fresh-written tunes produced by that nutter, Doyley!

Digital Horizons got airtime on the internet radio station 'TDFZ' and its subsequent Podcast replacement. 2007 rounded off with the release of the first DH EP 'Ions' in December. 2008 began with the release of a compilation album and EP to celebrate 20 years of DH. During 2008 'The Route Cause' CDr was released and a new outlet for DH at www.reverbnation.com. October 2008 saw the release of the 'Dragonfly' EP. 2009 began with the release of the 'Remembrance' CDr, and an updated Overplay website homepage. DH appeared on iTunes and Amazon MP3 for the first time in February 2009. July 2009 saw the release of the album 'ALT - DH Archives Vol 3' continuing the series of releases remixing and digging into the Digital Horizons vaults. During August 2009 the DH studios got some new equipment, the first evidence of which can be heard on the 'Undertow' EP released in October 2009. 2010 began with the release of 'Over Seas', the first full album release from the updated DH studios. An 'Over Seas' EP followed. Next came the London inspired 'Capital' EP release. Summer 2010 brought the album release 'White Skies'. The August 2010 release 'ana.lies' was the first to be fully available to download from iTunes and Amazon MP3. The internet radio show 'Sunday Synth' hosted by Bruce Gall at www.ARFM.co.uk has been featuring several DH tracks alongside a wide range of known and not so known electronic artists. www.reverbnation.com/digitalhorizons became the main gateway to all things DH. November 2010 saw the release of the 'ConSequence' album which has a planned iTunes release early in 2011. 'ConSequence' is the 20th CD release from DH starting with 'A Face In The Crowd' from 2002. DH now had tracks available at www.soundcloud.com as a forum for listeners to comment on the material. The fourth volume of the DH Archives series 'Lost In The Landscape' followed mid 2011 again with an iTunes release and the first to be available from Reverbnation direct as a physical CD. This gave the release a more professional finish to the packaging. July 2011 saw the release of 'canopies', a four track EP also available from Reverbnation as a download and CD. A fan only download track, 'Back To Shore', became available through Reverbnation around the same time. November 2011 came with the release of 'Track and Field', a 10 track album. Both the DH Facebook page and the DH page at Reverbnation continued to receive a steady increase in visitors. January 2012 saw the download only (at this stage) release of the five track 'neon' EP. This release received airplay on the 'Sunday Synth' radio show. This programme also featured a Digital Horizons special during February 2012. March 2012 saw the release of 'Foundations'. This is a compilation of tracks from 2009-2011 plus two exclusive 2012 tracks. May 2012 brought the release of 'Time Machine', a five track EP on CDBaby, Amazon and iTunes download sites. This was the first recording made after recording equipment upgrades were installed in the DH studio. 'A Face From The Past' arrived in August 2012 as an eight track album. A charity compilation download featuring a large range of electronic artists was released from the US site www.soundforgood.bandcamp.com featuring the 'Falling Star' track from DH. A twin release of EP's followed during the Autumn of 2012 with 'Rising Star' and 'Falling Star'. Digital Horizons joined Bandcamp in early 2013. 'Escapade - DH Archives Volume 5' was released in early 2013 with some new sounds added to the DH studio. New artwork software was also used for this release onwards. A second charity compilation download from SoundForGood featured a DH track from the mid 2013 EP release 'Reverberate'. July 2013 saw the release of the nine track album 'Echo Catcher' which also includes a track that appeared on a multi artist compilation download. 2014 began with the release of the 'Ways and Means' EP followed by the sixth release in the DH Archives series 'The Last Cube In The Box'. This release included a track with contribution from my girlfriend. Summer 2014 gave up the release of the eleven track album 'The Avian Flew'. Back into higher altitudes for the following 'Racing Rosetta' EP marking the achievements of the mission to land a probe on a comet. 2014 ended with 'Foundations2', a compilation of recent DH tracks plus a couple of exclusives. 2015 began on a sombre note with the death of Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream, a big influence on DH. To mark the moment 'The Last Chord' EP was released as a free download. This was shortly followed by the long gestating 'Calendar' album recorded over the entire span of 2014. 'Winter's Window', released in March 2015, featured the longest DH track to date at over 30 mins. |

Search | Add | 27 | Keith Wint | Keith Wint | Keith Wint (born in the Parish of Colleyville, Manchester, Jamaica) better known as Jah Benji Maccabees, is a Jamaican/British record Producer and Singer who was a key figure in the creation of many classic reggae recordings dating from the early 1980s. Keith gained his nickname "Jah Benji" after the twelve tribes Rasta, as one of the twelve brothers of the tribe of Israel. In the latter half of the 1970s he worked as mechanical engineer at Hawker Sydley Aero Space, he began playing music when he was just five years old by playing the Violin, at Woodbury Down Primary School. He started producing music at the age of 23, his first release being '[r=6214830]' by [a1219040], issued on his own [l=Maccabees] label. A friendship was formed with [a=Sugar Minott] who gave Keith a 2” Master tape with various recordings of Philip Fraser who he was recording at the time. Some of these tracks were released on a various Artist Album Called Maccabees 1. While working at Easy Street Studio he produced [a=Dennis Brown] and played a major role in re launching his career, his first major success as a producer was '[m=311147]' in March 1983, initially released in a pressing of 500 on his Maccabees label, but reissued the following year on his [l128533] label under licence to EMI records through Jet Star Phonographic, and going on to sell over 80,000 copies in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Unfortunately neither Dennis nor Keith benefited from these sales because every one who put their finger in that pie, starting with EMI records, ripped them off. Around the same time he released a song co produced with Walter Fraser, [a=John Holt] singing '[m=533752]', a cover version of [a=Lionel Richie]’s song, which was very popular through out Europe and America. He also co produced Dennis Brown '[r=6982426]'. Janice McKenzie over saw the day-to-day publishing from the Mill Hill office in Trafalgar House In the early 1990s, Keith Wint became one of UK's most in-demand producers, with the likes of Dennis Brown, John Holt, [a=Junior Delgado], [a=Sugar Minott], [a=Phillip Fraser], [a=Alton Ellis], [a=Tyrone Taylor], [a=Trevor Walters], [a=Jackie Mittoo], [a=Gene Rondo], [a=Colour Man], [a1374007], [a=Ernest Wilson],[a=Hughie Izaachar], [a=Jean Adebambo], [a=Christine McNabb], [a=Bobby Blue], [a=Pablo Diamond], [a=Sly & Robbie], [a=The Darbaz], [a=Roots Radics], and more recently [a=Freddie McGregor], [a=Determine] and [a=Demolition Man], all using his services. He also continued to record himself. Singing songs like 'Stepping over Shadows', written by his childhood friend Fitzroy Hughes, whose father was a musician with a band. Keith used to go to Fitzroy’s home and listen to Fitzroy's father while he rehearsed with his band. The sounds of the three piece horn sections, the Drum and the Bass left a lasting impression on Keith and the music bug was in his blood, as if his life depended on it. The late 1990s saw him still very active as a producer, but his output in the late 1990s was significantly less He began to build his own studio and is working on reissues of much of his back catalogue, as well as new recordings. He continues to produce new material. |

Search | Add | 27 | San Francisco Street Music | San Francisco Street Music (SFSM) was an underground hip-hop group in San Francisco during the early to mid 1990s. Originally formed by Corey Harris and Charles Hurbert in 1994, SFSM's music was defined by their highly personal lyrics and emotionally charged beats. Following the self-produced "Word o' Mouth" album (cassette) in 1995, SFSM became a collective of other local artists such as Joe Dubs, Jes (Who Cares?), AC75 and many others. "Still Defiant" was released in 1996 as a compilation of songs and snippets recorded during 1995 and featured artists such as Big Shawn (Bored Stiff), Shon Rich (7Gen), Po' EM (Knot Tight), as well as many others. 1995-1998 saw the relase of multiple off-shoot albums such as "The Pride," "The Money Tree," "Coincidentals & Instrumentals," "Skool of Thought," "Noise Pollution" and "From There To Here." While SFSM never realized broad commercial success, they were considered by many one of the more unique and overlooked groups to emerge from the West Coast underground scene.

Search | Add | 27 | Feratho | Feratho has been a passionate Italo Disco collector since 1985 and every year he returned to Italy to visit the discos, browse the record stores and meet artists. His whole life revolves around Italo Disco music, he met many artists and visited almost every Italo party in the Netherlands, and at one point had more than 10.000 records. In 2005 he started making music with his friend Eddy Mi Ami and the first releases soon came out on Kimmo Salo's label under the names Peter Arcade, Felli and George Aaron. In 2006, Feratho and Eddy Mi Ami decided to start their own label and Marcello became involved. i Venti Records was quickly born and the first release 'Swan - Shining Star' was released quickly and turned out to be a big hit. The label was expanded with Delivery Record, Energy Level and I.D.L. (Iventi Delivery Records). Feratho designed all labels, almost all covers and was always looking for artists. He also learned more and more about music and was involved in many hits such as Loopside, Eddy Huntington, Lui$, Alan Cook, Felli, Stage, Jimmy McFoy, Mention, Sisma etc.etc. He was also involved in the restart of Radio Stad Den Hague on the Web, the nice thing is that a scan of his small sticker has grown into the largest banner. His own group 'Mention', which he started together with Nicolo Paganini in the style of Nicolosi, turned out to be a hit and 'Strange World' is still popular with many to this day. Nicolo decided to leave in 2018, but Feratho is still active under this name. In 2019, Feratho left the formation FERMARLEXED (Feratho Marcello Lex Eddy) because the choice of music no longer appealed to him. He prefers the 80s and he has continued with that and started his own label Lusso Records in 2019, a label with passion, a label of a perfectionist, someone who pays attention to every detail and ensures that every Italo Fan imagines himself back in the 80s. The quality of the releases is simply great! An average of 10 releases are released every year, only 100 are pressed and some are even rarer and of better quality than the original records, how great is that? Feratho is a funny guy with a lot of knowledge of Italo Disco Music, he knows many artists personally, has many anecdotes, is passionate and very honest! I can tell you when you met him, you will never forget him! Share your passion with him and he will guide you.

Search | Add | 27 | La Lira De San Cristobal | La Lira De San Cristóbal | La Lira De San Cristóbal, Mexican musical group in which the marimba is the main instrument. Formed by the famous Mexican musicians and composers brothers: Ernesto Alfonso, Abel and Alberto Arturo Domínguez Borraz. It was the 1920s when the brothers formed the "marimbístico" group, "and although they were very young, since they were between eight and fourteen years old, encouraged by their mother, who always supported her children and had a determined character, they started in this art. At that time a contest of marimba groups was organized and, despite being the youngest, they were successful. The Lira de San Cristóbal was an institution from September 18, 1930, when the XEW opened its doors. "Everything they offered to the public became a success and this is because the Lira was made up of true musicians." They were composers, arrangers and each one of them played various instruments. From their work in the cinema, the film Al Son De La Marimba stands out, inspired by the song of the same name, by Alberto Domínguez. |

Search | Add | 27 | Schrei der Natur | Daniel Rossi | Schrei der Natur is the solo and only ongoing music project of Daniel Rossi. Since 2015 and during the last seven years he developed a wide spectrum of sound sub genres mainly linked to industrial, noise, dark ambient and acustic. At the very beginning of his activity he used different working approches and self taughts techniques such as the alteration of cd´s and vinyls in order to obtain a real raw sound of destruction in wich effects and music played no role. Later his passion for acustic and ethno-instruments like mandolas, balalaikas, flutes and percussions has influenced his main sound aesthetic. After years of live/field recordings of performances, mostly in the depth of nature, with no audience and in total isolation,he started to re-arrange in studio the collected material using cut ups technique and chaos magick philosopy. Today, strongly motivated by the refusal of using any pre written material in his live sets he reduced his sound to a 12 strings guitar and started focusing on his lirycs, seeing his performances and songs as a tool to deliver a sound form he named "mediterranean darkness". During the last seven years he performed as Schrei der Natur and Son ov Damien in many locations such as Kunstverin GAK , MS Stubnitz , Hamburg Hörbar , Breminale , Kultur Bunker , Galerie Herold , Galerie Flut , The Elephant , Lauschangriff Berlin ,Rote Flora Hamburg, HFK & Güter Bahnof Bremen and since 2016 he runs his own lable created to discover hidden music/sounds realms wich do not agree with contemporary trends and mentality. |

Search | Add | 27 | The Interstellar Cementmixers | Experimental synthesizer duo from Nottingham, England, formed on August 11th 1987, by the ever present line up of Richard (Rich) Collins and Stephen (Dump) Martin. Late 1989 was a period of Lo-Fi straight to cassette experiments in chaos, followed by two years of slightly more organised and slightly less chaotic 4-track recordings, that led to a synth-ambient side project under the name Warped Dust to emerge. From 1993 - 1998 Interstellar Cementmixers still on cassette, produced several Warped Dust style albums. Some of these cassettes featured reviews in AUDION magazine and by Andy G at C&D Services, which led to sales figures doubling. Cell Block Z released in 1997 satisfied the early experimental leanings, which led to the final cassette album Catacomb Discord which released in 1998. 1999 was the start of the Interstellar Cementmixers transition to CD which led them to release another 5 albums. Accessibility to digital recording facilities in 2011 led them to release Submerged Reality, followed by a number of remastered albums from Auricle in 2017.

Search | Add | 27 | James Gaden | James Gaden | James Gaden has been an Apple Mac Operator since leaving college. Once fully qualified and experienced in graphics and printing, he joined a company which specialised in reprographics for huge global brands like Philips, Heinz and Pantene, becoming fully trained in how to check and prepare artwork for every print process known to man. After two years of straining eyes measuring type size and ink bleed, he left (in his words) "shortly before I lost the will to live". The litho printers whom he joined following that tedium bought a second unit specialising in plastics and packaging. With his previous experience in this field and refusal to take orders from anyone else, he was soon promoted to studio manager only two years into his tenure at the age of 26. In 2005 he set up on his own, armed with a complete understanding of printing and artwork in general, becoming his own boss and quite successful since starting his own business. At present, he currently looks after artwork for several local businesses, creates Fireworks Rock & Metal Magazine on a quarterly basis, Michael Ball's Official Fan Club material (which he states "is an honour and a privilege") and has done numerous DVD sets, CD covers, concert programmes… Check out his work for yourself in the website gallery. |

Search | Add | 26 | Antoine Bonelli | Qualified by his admirers of "The Greatest Corsican Guitarist "of all time, Antoine Bonelli accompanied greats artists like Tino Rossi and Manitas de Plata. A native of Bocogano, he was one of the greatest guitarists in the world and remained the symbol of Ajaccian and Corsican music. Famous for his concerts at "Son des Guitares", rue Roi de Rome in Ajaccio (Corsica), he was a master and an example for many young musicians such as the late Gaston Giordani. Jean-Joseph Flori, Corsican writer and poet, wrote many musics and lyrics of Corsican songs that he played alongside Antoine Bonelli. Nicknamed The Buddha by the Ajaccians because of his corpulence, the guitarist loved the Ajaccian nights, the party, and above all the music. This Ajaccian of heart had a haven of peace : Mandriolu, in the municipality of Sarrola-Carcopino where his sister had married. Antoine Bonelli played with genius great Corsican music such as "A Sirinata Aiaccina", "Cun Voi O Madamicella", "Solenzara". He also played the Ajaccian Waltz perfectly.

Search | Add | 26 | Bob Haring | Robert C. Haring | Bob Haring (1896-1975) was an American bandleader of the 1920s and early 1930s. Also a songwriter, conductor and arranger. Haring began recording as the music director of the then-new Cameo Records label beginning in 1922 under a plethora of pseudonyms, such as The Caroliners, The Lincoln Dance Orchestra, The Society Night Club Orchestra, King Solomon and His Miners, etc. (Cameo was one of the primary 'dime store' labels in the 1920s and Haring's sessions there were also issued on Plaza/ARC's other labels, including Romeo, Perfect, Oriole and others.) In 1925, Haring signed a contract with Brunswick Records. His best recordings were issued on the Brunswick label, one of the three major recordings labels in the 1920s. His first commercial recording for Brunswick was made on May 16, 1925 as the leader of the Regent Club Orchestra. The Regent Club Orchestra focused on playing waltzes. It was at this time that Haring that lush song for which he became famous in the late 1920s. Due to the popularity of his recordings, Haring became the leader of The Colonial Club Orchestra in May 1926. This orchestra that focused on fox-trot dance music played in an elegant style with the occasional tango and waltz. Later that year, in July 1926, Haring appeared on the label for the first time under his own name as Bob Haring & His Orchestra. In all of these recordings, Haring emphasized a classy society sound by extensively using string instruments, such as violins, to carry the melody. This is especially evident in his elegant waltz recordings, mostly issued as The Regent Club Orchestra. By April 1929, Haring had been appointed the musical director for the Brunswick recording laboratories in New York City "to supervise musical arrangements in connection with recording." Bob Haring continued to record for Brunswick Records until the Warner Bros. took over the company in April 1930 and the subsequent reorganization that took place led to the non-renewal of Haring's contract in March 1931. Haring then recorded for ARC (Banner, Oriole, Perfect, Romeo) through July, 1931. Haring continued to work in radio, however, until the introduction of swing music drastically changed the public's taste in music around 1935. Haring's discography is difficult to trace, since many of the sides he performed on do not actually list his name. However, several dozen sessions on which Haring led or arranged an orchestra have been catalogued by discographers, mostly falling between 1920 and 1931. His recordings with The Colonial Club Orchestra and The Regent Club Orchestra for Brunswick were his most popular in terms of sales. |

Search | Add | 26 | ArtemisWave | Guillaume Crettaz | ArtemisWave is a Swiss composer of Hard-Trance music from the 90s. Contrary to popular belief, ArtemisWave has absolutely nothing to do with the group "Artemis" from "Atoom Records" except the passion for Hardtrance music. Arrived in the middle of the Eighties under the name of Guillaume, I from an early age was lulled by electronic music. When I was 8, I touched my first piano keys to spend two years on the keyboard. I composed my first songs at the beginning of 2000 with a "Korg Karma" and a "Roland MC 505" that I recorded on cassettes (many of these nuggets are still hiding in my den). I really developed my Home-Studio in 2004, first by the component part then by the mix part in 2007. Since then, a lot of things have changed but my Technics SL 1200 MK5 turntables are still there! My musical inspirations are varied: Jean-Michel Jarre, the different compilations of the 90s (Dance Mission / Rave Mission / Hardtrancer / Ravermeister / Thunderdome) then the 2000s of Clubbing Switzerland (Goliath / Tranceescape). In the midst of all these styles, the Hardtrance of the 90s remains my great musical love. Currently, I compose and mix on vinyls. I am an epicurean of music: the decibels are not enough for me, I need something concrete in hand and the unique sizzle announcing good sounds from vinyls that have been playing for hours. Apart from vinyls, I also collect the different compilations mentioned above. Guillaume - ArtemisWave |

Search | Add | 26 | Viktor Gambon | Robbert-Jan van der Plas | Robbert-Jan vd Plas aka Viktor Gambon is a Dutch dj from Katwijk aan zee born in 1980. At the age of 9 he received his first 2 vinyls. Turn Up The Bass 1 and 2. It was the year 1989. First track he listened to was Pump Up The Jam, after the first beats he was hooked. Since then he was always listening to fresh new beats. In 1993 he decided to save the little money that he could get to buy the records that he liked and try to mix them. Starting with 1 turntable (Without pitch) and 1 cd player. 1 year later he visited his first houseparty (Nightmare in Rotterdam) and then he knew it, he wanted to be an dj. So from then on he bought more and more vinyl and at 14 got his first residency at a local youthcentre. For 3 years he was the hardest dj there and from all over the village the young boys and girls came to dance on his Hardcore beats After that 3 years he stopped his residency and got his first gig at the HOUSE in SCUM party's at the Scum, Katwijk and when he was around 20 years old he they asked him to be a resident at the party's once a month. He continued that until 2011 when he was 31 years old. In between he played at a lot of small clubs and small party's in the whole of the Netherlands and a few in Belgium and Germany also. In this period he also spinned at some local radioshows and even got an invite to play at the Old School Generation on Radio Fresh FM hosted by dj Norman where spinned an vinyl Old School set. Also he has been a resident at D.O.T.F. radio. An internet old school radiostation where the rules are "Fuck Hokjes" so there will be mostly spinned underground old school records. Other residents of the show are dj Sneaky-d (founder of the station), Jeff London, dj Vince an dj Stylo. Unfortunately the show stopped after 10 years. Since 2011 things where running a bit slower due of the birth of his daughter Yara in november 2011, his son Finley in September 2013 and daughter Jaxy in february 2015. Hey stopped with Scum in 2011 after an 11 year residency. Bookings went down and he didn't preformed a lot after that. Few small party's like the Early Ravers United party's. Biggest gigs since then where Fucking Basterds in Culemburg in 2012 and Vinyl Syndrome V · Limita'd Edition Moscou Russia in 2016. Nowadays due of Facebook Groups and Facebook Live more and more sets are being broadcasted around the web. He has done 4 shows on Hard Shock radio Italy, mostly Early Hardcore. Has an Early Hardcore residency at The Hardest Alliance show on Toxic Sickness. This was all as HAMdj and in the styles Hardcore, Early Hardcore, Hardstyle and Old School. 2018 he started a Podcast serie with a friend (dj Exomni) called The Dark Chronicles in courtesy of Annihilation. The Dark Chronicles offers mixes in the Harder Mainstream, Millennium, Crossbreed, Industrial and Doomcore. (No Uptempo or Terror!!) Brought by a variety of fine artists. But after discovering the Dark Techno at the end of 2018 he created this alter ego Viktor Gambon. And started a sideshow podcast called the Dark Techno Sessions. So pretty new to the Techno scene he is mixing this with his own vision. Not excluding anything. So influences from the Rave, Acid or Classic scene. Expect no limits or boundaries in his sets. They will go up and down but you never know when and where it will end! |

Search | Add | 26 | Karukurichi P. Arunachalam | When Karukurichi Arunachalam passed away in 1964 at the age of 43—survived by his wife, seven daughters and four sons—the world of Carnatic music, the nagaswaram fraternity in particular, mourned his loss as that of the worthiest successor of TN Rajaratnam. A potentially spectacular career was cut short prematurely, though Arunachalam had achieved quite a bit in his relatively short career. Karukurichi Arunachalam did not hail from a traditional nagaswaram family. His father Balavesam was so fascinated and impressed by the artistry and prestige of Koorainadu Natesa Pillai that he attempted to learn to play the instrument and become a performing artist. Unfortunately he did not quite make it as a musician, but found solace in his son Arunachalam’s talent for the instrument. Arunachalam learnt nagaswaram from Kattumalli Subbiah Kambar and vocal music from Kalakkad Subbiah Bhagavatar and his son Ramanarayana Bhagavatar. (Some accounts have it that he learnt vocal music from Kallidaikurichi Ramalinga Bhagavatar). A great fan of nagaswaram wizard Rajaratnam, Karukurichi constantly dreamt of training under him. Through a fortuitous opportunity to accompany him on stage when TNR’s aide Kakkayi Natarajasundaram Pillai fell ill before a concert at Karukurichi, he did fulfil his dream. Arunachalam did gurukulavasam shadowing TNR at home and concerts and learning the nuances of his music largely by osmosis. Soon he assimilated the best facets of Rajaratnam’s music in abundance, and became renowned in equal measure for the beauty of his handling of ragas and compositions. At the height of his fame, Arunachalam had a large fan following, hugely enhanced by his nagaswaram contribution to the film Konjum Salangai, in which he played pure classical music as well as raga-based songs composed for the movie. The song Singaravelane deva in which the playback singer S Janaki sang in tandem with his nagaswaram playing repeating every phrase of his became a runaway hit, still remembered and enjoyed by audiences fifty years later. Once he became well settled in his music career he left Karukurichi in Tirunelveli district where he was born and settled down at Kovilpatti town in the same district. A tribute in the Indian Express on 7 April 1964 said, “Sri Arunachalam’s renderings of ragas, kritis and pallavis were noted for their tonal purity and melodic beauty.” Natabhairavi, Kharaharapriya, Pantuvarali, Shanmukhapriya, Nata and Gowla were described as his favourite ragas, while rare ragas like Chandrajyoti and Takka were his forte, too. According to a charming story, Rajaratnam, who was a fan of his disciple’s music, once sat down on the road in T’Nagar to listen to Arunachalam’s Huseni raga alapana in a temple procession, refusing to move even though he was causing a disruption of the traffic. Karukurichi Arunachalam’s death at the Palayamkottai Government Headquarters Hospital on 6 April 1964 marked the end of a distinct era in nagaswaram music of the Rajaratnam school. It would not be unrealistic to speculate that he would have reached great heights in music, even achieved the Sangita Kalanidhi title at the Music Academy where he often electrified audiences.
