Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 28 | Robyn Nice | An anonymous singer/songwriter whose music largely resides in the loner-folk and sound art idioms, none of the releases attributed to him mention the name Robyn Nice. Instead, this is the earliest known identity under which he was creatively active and has consequently become a de facto way to refer to the individual behind the body of work given that every recording he has issued is credited to a unique artist or ensemble. While the confirmed personnel on early group recordings suggests a youth at least partially spent in Hammond, Louisiana, the bulk of the artist's output is believed to derive from time spent living in the greater Chicago area, though it is unknown if he still resides there or how contemporaneous any of his recordings were with their release. As well, given the unconventional distribution of most of these releases (i.e. turning up in thrift shops, anonymously dumped in independent record stores, featuring in specialty collectors' mail-order lists), they tend to trade hands for greater-than-average prices on the rare occasions that they do surface. No official point of contact for the artist exists, but the Rabbit Run Down The Hole Of A Skull blogspot fansite is considered a good source for what little information is known; an unofficial Bandcamp page streams audio of the known releases, many of which are on the Discogs database. As of this writing, it is known that several small-run lathe-cut discs were released in 2017 in addition to those from the same series already featuring on this page. Fans of Robyn Nice are hopeful that, in time, information about these recordings will also become readily available. | |

| Search | Add | 28 | Jeramy Roberts | Jeramy Roberts is the founder of the Electronic Musicians Guild. The E.M.G. started in early 2002 as an underground, members only, warehouse club in Seattle. Jeramy had been playing raves and clubs since 1999 and observed that a lot of the venues and promoters were gravitating towards a more commercial dynamic, thus giving way to the idea of E.M.G. Drawing a lot of influence from the early Detroit Techno sound it has evolved into what it is today. Jeramy sold records in 27 countries in 2013 and his music production work has earned him several top 100 Sales spots at record stores such as “Hard To Find Records” in London, “satellite EDM” in New York and AMAZON MP3 USA. He is currently Executive Director of Promotions at both Skylar Records and Asnazzy Productions. He is also the Owner and Manager of E.M.G. Recordings. | |

| Search | Add | 28 | Evan Ljunggren | Nils Evan Harry Ljunggren | Swedish engineer and producer that ran [l=Falks Studio] in Eksjö and label owner of [l528458], born March 13, 1931 in Vetlanda, died January 15, 2020 in Eksjö. In his teens at home in Tånghult, he built a simple speaker to be able to listen to the radio in the room next door, despite the fact that he was only allowed to go to school for six years. He was interested in photography and sound and he made recordings with artists and choirs in churches and homesteads as early as the 1940s. He handled everything from engraving machines and tape recorders to today's digital technology. In 1952, Evan met his future wife Vivi-Anne, a salvation soldier who both sang and drove bus as profession. They married in 1955 and the sons Bengt and Kjell became part of the family business early on. He acquired the shop Falks Foto in Eksjö in 1959 at the age of 28. The shop was located at Norra Storgatan 25. In 1963 it moved to Västerlånggatan and in 1965 to Södra Storgatan 5. Around the same years he built Falk's Studio at home in the basement. The very first recording in his studio was with his wife, who sang and played with Anna-Lisa Lindén and Gunnar Holmgren. The EP was produced in 50 copies. At Easter 1963 he made his first studio first recording not involving the family. At the beginning, Evan rented a basement room in central Eksjö and Målle Lindberg came there to record. When the recording was to continue the following Saturday, the neighbors complained about the noise. Instead, they finished the recording at Målle's sister in Bänarp. The then young singer duo Curt & Roland were also present. Evan launched business model where the artist had to pay a lump sum upfront, covering the recording and 100 records that you could sell yourself. In 1967, Evan began a collaboration with singer-evangelist Artur Erikson. The LP "När den evigt klara morgon gryr" sold 25,000 copies and became Sweden's first "religious" gold record. When Artur Erikson made a Christmas record together with Anna-Lena Löfgren, it also became gold. The technician on that record was a young Michael B Tretow who, together with Artur Erikson, Anna-Lena Löfgren and Evan Ljunggren, received his first gold record. The award ceremony took place in Expressenhuset in January 1970. Years later, Michael B Tretow became the sound engineer for ABBA. In the autumn of 1967, 17-year-old Agnetha Fältskog made her first record recording in the studio in Evans' basement. She came from Jönköping together with [a7743028] and when the recording was finished, Evan posted a copy of the tape to Little Gerhard who was a producer at a large record company in Stockholm. Shortly afterwards, Agnetha Fältskog ended up at Svensktoppen. Much later, in 1982, Lena Philipsson came in with her mother and made a demo recording. He also worked with Jokkmokks-Jokke, Carola, Göingeflickorna, Pelle Näver, Lapp-Lisa, Lars Gullin, Kjell Öhman, Arvid Sundin, Anna-Lena Löfgren, Stålfarfar, Ingeborg Nyberg and the Christian country duo Bosse & Anita. When he and his wife Vivi-Anne met a Polish singer visiting Småland in the late 1970s, he started an aid organization which over the years has provided donations worth around SEK 200 million to Poland. He was awarded the Polish Order of Commanders - a medal in gold and red with a blue silk ribbon. He was invited to the Royal Palace in Stockholm to meet King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia in connection with Gustaf "Stålfarfar" Håkansson's 100th birthday 1985. Swedish Radio has also turned to Falks Studio for help in converting old recording formats, like old thread recordings. Evans' youngest son, Bengt Ljunggren, has compiled a book about his father's life. Over the years, over 1,000 recordings have been made at Falks Studio and until the 1980s there could be 50-60 titles a year. In 1984, he sold the photo shop, still under the name Falks Foto. The business was taken over by Margit Petersson and Gun-Britt Gustafsson. He continued recording in his studio all the way to the end. The last artist he recorded was Lyckans Trio from Eksjö. |

| Search | Add | 28 | Orchestre Bakuba Mayopi | The Bakuba Mayopi Orchestra is a creation of Seskain Molenga. It is worth noting that big Jean Kabasele Yampanya was featured in this group. Madilu System joined this group in 1971. In 1972, the group broke up. Pépé Kallé went into Bella-Bella, Papy Tex into Bella Mambo. Left alone, Yossa Taluki who lived on Yakata Avenue near the current Mariano market and whose violins no longer agreed with Seskain Molenga, creator of this orchestra, will call on Madilu, Pirex and José Dilu to relieve the Bakuba. But after a period of time, José Dilu will join Pépé Kallé and Papy Tex to set up the Bakuba Empire. In 1973, Madilu, Yossa and Pindu set up the Bakuba MAYOPI orchestra which took its name from the first two letters in the names of these three principals to distinguish it from the Bakuba orchestra: Ma for Madilu, Yo for Yossa and Pi for Pindu. The song “Zene” crowned the union of these three stars and shook up the charts. The group enjoyed moderate success with two other hits in “Zunguluke” and “Pamba Pamba” signed Madilu without constituting a threat to Kinshasa or even without placing themselves at the forefront of the bands. In 1974, Madilu made a brief visit to Lipua-Lipua and then returned to Mayopi. In 1976, marketing problems and especially leadership problems arose to the point of causing the separation of this young orchestra. Madilu, who nicknamed himself "Father Zikalpens", went off to form his own group called Pamba Pamba with which he launched the song "Madilu System" released under the label of Maxime Soki Vangu's new publishing house. Difficult to manage his own group, he opted for employment in Tabu Ley Rochereau's Afrisa International and was hired some time later in Franco's TP OK Jazz, thanks to Simaro Lutumba. | |

| Search | Add | 28 | La Lira De San Cristobal | La Lira De San Cristóbal | La Lira De San Cristóbal, Mexican musical group in which the marimba is the main instrument. Formed by the famous Mexican musicians and composers brothers: Ernesto Alfonso, Abel and Alberto Arturo Domínguez Borraz. It was the 1920s when the brothers formed the "marimbístico" group, "and although they were very young, since they were between eight and fourteen years old, encouraged by their mother, who always supported her children and had a determined character, they started in this art. At that time a contest of marimba groups was organized and, despite being the youngest, they were successful. The Lira de San Cristóbal was an institution from September 18, 1930, when the XEW opened its doors. "Everything they offered to the public became a success and this is because the Lira was made up of true musicians." They were composers, arrangers and each one of them played various instruments. From their work in the cinema, the film Al Son De La Marimba stands out, inspired by the song of the same name, by Alberto Domínguez. |

| Search | Add | 28 | James Gaden | James Gaden | James Gaden has been an Apple Mac Operator since leaving college. Once fully qualified and experienced in graphics and printing, he joined a company which specialised in reprographics for huge global brands like Philips, Heinz and Pantene, becoming fully trained in how to check and prepare artwork for every print process known to man. After two years of straining eyes measuring type size and ink bleed, he left (in his words) "shortly before I lost the will to live". The litho printers whom he joined following that tedium bought a second unit specialising in plastics and packaging. With his previous experience in this field and refusal to take orders from anyone else, he was soon promoted to studio manager only two years into his tenure at the age of 26. In 2005 he set up on his own, armed with a complete understanding of printing and artwork in general, becoming his own boss and quite successful since starting his own business. At present, he currently looks after artwork for several local businesses, creates Fireworks Rock & Metal Magazine on a quarterly basis, Michael Ball's Official Fan Club material (which he states "is an honour and a privilege") and has done numerous DVD sets, CD covers, concert programmes… Check out his work for yourself in the website gallery. |

His name was Erland Dahlgren, born in Bispberg in 1902. In his early teens, he began as a worker in a mine but became more and more interested in Greco-Roman wrestling, and as an especially strong man he and other strong men attracted and drew audiences to the Swedish [url=https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folkpark]Folkparks[/url], with their touring shows or at occasional appearances in local revues. Then, around the year 1939, his whole life would take a new turn, and it attracted a lot of excitement in the district, when people learned that the popular artist had found salvation. After his conversion he left the life of the Folkparks and began singing in churches and chapels, now writing his own songs and collaborating with lyricists of the time. He wrote over 100 own melodies, including texts by [a3598167], [a850066], [a965656] and [a4509710]. Some 20 of these are published by [l300745]. It is said that the theme of the song Härlighetens Morgon, found on this release: [r14043966], is taken from his childhood mining environment. After a night shift in the dark and humid mine, the miner boy met with the glorious sunshine of the summer morning. The contrast between darkness and light reminded of the salvation experience – from darkness to light! |

| Search | Add | 27 | Bingo Reyna | Bingo Reyna was an excellent guitar player. He came from the group “Jackie y Los Ciclones” and in 1964 he created his own band “Beto and Los Huracanes”. The group used to play all Saturdays on channel 9, TV (Buenos Aires). Soon they signed with local RCA Victor where they recorded lots of instrumental records. Bingo Reyna recorded at least six all instrumental albums (in spite of some of them have duplicated tracks and several were reissued with different titles). Les Paul and his multitrack recording techniques, which Bingo has imitated, influenced his sound. As usual, with Argentinean instrumental records from 1960’s, Bingo’s albums back covers usually did not show details of the Bingo Reyna biography or discography. From his albums front covers we can see a young musician in his twenties holding a nice hollowed body guitar. His albums were usually a mix of rock and roll and easy listening tunes (ballads, Bossa Nova, American songs, etc.). However, even the easy listening songs were very well played with clever arrangements. As far as we know, to date, no Bingo Reyna album or compilation was issued on CD. In 1970 he moved to Spain having recorded with his (ex) wife. He went to Mexico and married again. At present Bingo Reyna lives in Texas, USA where he runs a light and illumination company for shows. | Search | Add | 27 | Schrei der Natur | Daniel Rossi | Schrei der Natur is the solo and only ongoing music project of Daniel Rossi. Since 2015 and during the last seven years he developed a wide spectrum of sound sub genres mainly linked to industrial, noise, dark ambient and acoustic. At the very beginning of his activity he used different working approaches and self taught techniques such as the alteration of cd´s and vinyls in order to obtain a real raw sound of destruction in which effects and music played no role. Later his passion for acoustic and ethno-instruments like mandolas, balalaikas, flutes and percussions has influenced his main sound aesthetic. After years of live/field recordings of performances, mostly in the depth of nature, with no audience and in total isolation, he started to re-arrange in studio the collected material using cut ups technique and chaos magick philosophy. Today, strongly motivated by the refusal of using any pre written material in his live sets he reduced his sound to a 12 strings guitar and started focusing on his lyrics, seeing his performances and songs as a tool to deliver a sound form he named "mediterranean darkness". During the last seven years he performed as Schrei der Natur and Son ov Damien in many locations such as Kunstverin GAK , MS Stubnitz , Hamburg Hörbar , Breminale , Kultur Bunker , Galerie Herold , Galerie Flut , The Elephant , Lauschangriff Berlin ,Rote Flora Hamburg, HFK & Güter Bahnof Bremen and since 2016 he runs his own label created to discover hidden music/sounds realms which do not agree with contemporary trends and mentality. |

| Search | Add | 27 | Diamondstep | Eric Mattavian Jones | Diamondstep: The Georgia Prodigy Who Turned School Chromebook Experiments into a Dubstep Empire Eric Mattavian Jones, professionally known as Diamondstep, and under a kaleidoscope of aliases including Diamondstep Duchrodes, Diamondstep ‘Lapis’ Duchrodes, Diamondsenpa!, DiamondChan, and the short-lived Dymonztep, FKA Lapi-step, is an African American dubstep producer from McDonough, Georgia. Born in a Jacksonville, Florida hospital in 2005 but raised in the small-town sprawl of McDonough, he has become one of the most distinctive young voices in underground electronic music. His sound fuses tearout, deathstep, brostep throwbacks, and deeply personal thematic projects—often centered on video-game lore, especially Five Nights at Freddy’s—while his production journey from middle-school SoundTrap sessions on a school-issued HP Chromebook to professional Ableton Live releases is a genuine underdog story. Origins: Lapisstep and the SoundTrap Era (2019–2020) Diamondstep’s story begins on August 19, 2019, in the gymnasium of Locust Grove Middle School. At just 13, Eric launched the project as Lapisstep (quickly shortened to Lapis). His very first track, “Dub Surgeon,” was built entirely inside Spotify’s free SoundTrap DAW using the built-in dubstep template. From there he flooded the internet with unauthorized bootlegs and remixes of DAGames, Travis Scott, Joji, The Living Tombstone, and countless others. The alias Diamondstep (capital D and S) was officially born during a bootleg of PewDiePie’s “Congratulations.” By 2020 the project had migrated to streaming platforms. His first official Spotify release was “Lord Piconix.” Later that summer he dropped the Cykopath beta album—a concept he borrowed from video-game beta testing (he often cited the mobile title Frag Pro Shooter as inspiration). The same year he founded his own label, Diamond Nation, distributed through RouteNote. Its debut release was the Among Us EP Kinda Sus, which exploded in popularity thanks to the game’s 2020 cultural moment and pushed the teenage producer into wider visibility. The Prolific 2021 Peak and the Chromebook Limitations 2021 was Diamondstep’s breakout year. He released an astonishing volume of material while still attending high school and working exclusively on the same school Chromebook in SoundTrap: My Name Is Diamondstep Fuse Cannon EP (inspired by longtime friend VFuse) Swirlons Sadako Lord Piconix: Unicorns Of The Midnight Dabistep Duchrodes Antidote Audio’s “Throwback, 2010 (Where It Started)” (Tearout Remix) Hewlett “Headshot” ft. Omnifox Twisted Waves And Northern Lights EP Emo Femboy Blueberry Muffins Volume 2: Rippling Waves Bass Boost In Instagram posts from the period he openly documented the technical struggles: the sub-bass in Fuse Cannon sat an octave too high, the growl in “Open The Sea Gates” was a bizarre artifact of SoundTrap’s built-in tools, and the entire EP froze his Chromebook repeatedly. “SoundTrap has limitations, I can tell you that much lmao,” he wrote. “Basically after I created my last song in SoundTrap in 2021 (song is called ‘How Did We Get So Toxic’) I switched to FL Studio after I got my Lenovo IdeaPad.” That transition marked the end of the Chromebook era and the beginning of noticeably cleaner, heavier production. 2022: Ableton, Identity, and the Femboy Era In 2022 Diamondstep moved to Ableton Live and unleashed a wave of releases that still define his sound: Xen EP Rain EP The Dubstep Femboy EP (heavily inspired by the alias HIKØMORI / HENTA! K!D) Tracks like “Dark Yao!,” “Rotten Boy,” “Hollow Ring,” and “You Ignite My Heart (Where Ever You Are)” combined emotional songwriting with brutal bass. Toward the end of the year he publicly came out as pansexual, revealing he had already told his Discord server on his 16th birthday in 2021. The Dubstep Femboy project became both a musical and personal statement. 2023–2024: Label Expansion, Shadowbans, and Thematic Depth Diamond Nation evolved into a proper collective. The label began promoting a roster of emerging artists—Tri-step, CX93, Danslinger (now Restricted Future), Kapsyz, DROPHOP, Young Saints, Dante Levo, BEMMA, SVNXX, Music Boomer, Lumina (now Saphi), and many more—adopting a UKF-style promotional strategy across YouTube, X, and Instagram. The label’s YouTube channel suffered a prolonged shadowban that buried its videos in search results and recommendations. The curse was broken in dramatic fashion when Diamondstep dropped the Codename: Rage EP and labelmate Ghxsteyez released Toxic Soundz EP; both projects shattered the algorithmic suppression. By 2024 Diamondstep began winding down the alias. His final major 2024 releases were: CLASH EP Perish The Bots (an Omegatronic TF2 deathstep diss track aimed at bots) “BONNIE’S LULLABY” ft. Marie Ork (a deathstep successor to his 2023 track “Controlled Shock (Liquidation)”) The official lyric video for “BONNIE’S LULLABY” sits at over 3,200 views/listens and remains one of his most emotionally charged FNAF-themed works, drawing from the “Bonnie’s Lullaby” music-box motif in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 and using a Vocaloid-style voicebank from Plogue’s Alter/Ego. At the close of 2024 he posted farewell messages across socials, hinting that the Diamondstep chapter might be over. Fans assumed retirement. 2025: The Triumphant Return and the FAZBEAR Saga Diamondstep returned in 2025 with renewed energy, primarily through collaborations with European tearout artist ROTZLA (from Ravenholm). Their first joint track, “DIAMONDROT”, was born out of a public beef: the label accused ROTZLA of “stealing IDs and sound presets,” leading to a tongue-in-cheek “legal action” that resulted in one of ROTZLA’s IDs being gifted to Diamondstep. The resulting song became a chaotic, war-like depiction of the dispute. The duo then surprised everyone with FAZBEAR, a six-track EP plus two meticulously crafted interludes—the largest FNAF project in Diamondstep’s catalog. In the lengthy release description (still visible on streaming platforms and YouTube), he poured out a lifetime of fandom: “When I was 4th grade, I gotten into listening to Will Ryan’s Five Nights At Freddy’s Discography, with ‘It’s Time To Die’ being my #1 favorite… I am 17 now, I have played almost every five nights at freddy’s title… learning about the ‘Purple Guy’ (FKA Vincent, AKA William Afton) from Smike… I’m glad Five Nights At Freddy’s was part of my childhood… Thank you Scott Cawthon.” He noted the project was released months early (before the FNAF movie sequel) because “you don’t have to wait several months… I’m releasing it THIS early!” The EP spans animatronics “getting quirky at night” all the way to salvaging haunted machines, with heavy lore nods and production that took “nearly 3 months of non-stop tweaking… DAW crashes and writers block along with chronic Preset Junkie Disorder.” Later 2025 highlights included the ROTZLA collab “NO KINGS”, the BETWEEN TEETH (HALLOWEEN VIP), the brostep callback “AKIHABARA”, and “SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING NEW”—the final FNAF release of the year. The year closed with “PINNACLE”, another ROTZLA-gifted ID turned collab. During this period the label officially rebranded from Diamond Nation Audio to Dymon Nation Audio (X: @DNM_RL) to resolve long-standing SEO confusion with the unrelated New Jersey baseball complex Diamond Nation. Socials for the label (YouTube, X, Instagram) continued promoting both Diamondstep and the wider roster. 2026 and Beyond: Mynshaft, STRIFE, and the “Unknown Rare Genre” As of February 2026, Diamondstep is fully active under the Mynshaft Records banner (his personal imprint, also home to CLASH, BONNIE’S LULLABY, and FAZBEAR). He dropped the 26H1 continuation of his ongoing UNKNOWN RARE GENRE series and the tearout single “STRIFE”—already being hailed as a strong start to the new year. His platforms remain diverse: YouTube (@Diamondstep + legacy Eric_404 gaming channel) — music videos, lyric videos, trailers SoundCloud (@diamondstep_duchrodes) — bootlegs, free downloads, early demos Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, Bandcamp, TIDAL, Deezer — official releases Newgrounds, Bandlab — archival and demo content Instagram (@diamondstepld / linked via Linktree) — production updates and personal posts X/Twitter (@Diamond_Duch) — direct fan interaction, political commentary, and streaming-platform advocacy (he frequently encourages fans to buy on Beatport, Qobuz, or iTunes for higher artist payouts) TikTok, Discord, Roblox — clips, community, and gaming crossovers Production Evolution and Artistic Identity Diamondstep’s growth is audible. The Chromebook/SoundTrap era produced raw, sometimes glitchy growls born of necessity. The FL Studio and especially Ableton periods brought cleaner mixing, deeper sub-bass, and more sophisticated arrangement. He openly calls his style “Unknown / Rare Genre”—a catch-all for the eclectic mix of tearout, deathstep, emotional melodic dubstep, and game-soundtrack homages that defies easy categorization. He is also unabashedly himself: a proud Black, pansexual, left-leaning artist who has never shied away from identity, politics, or fandom. His FNAF obsession is lifelong—he played the games at his mother’s daycare, binged SFM animations, Markiplier and Jacksepticeye playthroughs, and still dives deep into the lore. Tracks like “BONNIE’S LULLABY” and the entire FAZBEAR EP are love letters to that childhood. Legacy and the Road Ahead Diamondstep has already released more music than many artists twice his age. He built a label, survived algorithmic shadowbans, turned public beefs into collaborations, and created one of the most ambitious single-artist FNAF projects in the scene. He retired from a decade-long YouTube gaming career in 2025 to focus entirely on music, and the results speak for themselves. Whether the next chapter brings a full-length album, more tearout singles, or another massive thematic EP, one thing is certain: the kid who started in a middle-school gymnasium on a school Chromebook has turned “Diamondstep” into a recognizable name in underground dubstep. The laptop may have closed in 2024, but the alias—and the music—kept the screen on. From Lapisstep to Diamondstep Duchrodes, from SoundTrap growls to Mynshaft Records releases, Eric Mattavian Jones has proven that talent, persistence, and a little bit of FNAF lore can take a small-town Georgia teenager around the world—one distorted bass drop at a time. Late 1989 was a period of Lo-Fi straight to cassette experiments in chaos, followed by two years of slightly more organised and slightly less chaotic 4-track recordings, that led to a synth-ambient side project under the name Warped Dust to emerge. From 1993 - 1998 Interstellar Cementmixers still on cassette, produced several Warped Dust style albums. Some of these cassettes featured reviews in AUDION magazine and by Andy G at C&D Services, which led to sales figures doubling. Cell Block Z released in 1997 satisfied the early experimental leanings, which led to the final cassette album Catacomb Discord which released in 1998. 1999 was the start of the Interstellar Cementmixers transition to CD which led them to release another 5 albums. Accessibility to digital recording facilities in 2011 led them to release Submerged Reality, followed by a number of remastered albums from Auricle in 2017. | |

| Search | Add | 27 | San Francisco Street Music | San Francisco Street Music (SFSM) was an underground hip-hop group in San Francisco during the early to mid 1990s. Originally formed by Corey Harris and Charles Hurbert in 1994, SFSM's music was defined by their highly personal lyrics and emotionally charged beats. Following the self-produced "Word o' Mouth" album (cassette) in 1995, SFSM became a collective of other local artists such as Joe Dubs, Jes (Who Cares?), AC75 and many others. "Still Defiant" was released in 1996 as a compilation of songs and snippets recorded during 1995 and featured artists such as Big Shawn (Bored Stiff), Shon Rich (7Gen), Po' EM (Knot Tight), as well as many others. 1995-1998 saw the relase of multiple off-shoot albums such as "The Pride," "The Money Tree," "Coincidentals & Instrumentals," "Skool of Thought," "Noise Pollution" and "From There To Here." While SFSM never realized broad commercial success, they were considered by many one of the more unique and overlooked groups to emerge from the West Coast underground scene. | |
| Search | Add | 27 | Keith Wint | Keith Wint | Keith Wint (born in the Parish of Colleyville, Manchester, Jamaica) better known as Jah Benji Maccabees, is a Jamaican/British record Producer and Singer who was a key figure in the creation of many classic reggae recordings dating from the early 1980s. Keith gained his nickname "Jah Benji" after the twelve tribes Rasta, as one of the twelve brothers of the tribe of Israel. In the latter half of the 1970s he worked as mechanical engineer at Hawker Sydley Aero Space, he began playing music when he was just five years old by playing the Violin, at Woodbury Down Primary School. He started producing music at the age of 23, his first release being '[r=6214830]' by [a1219040], issued on his own [l=Maccabees] label. A friendship was formed with [a=Sugar Minott] who gave Keith a 2” Master tape with various recordings of Philip Fraser who he was recording at the time. Some of these tracks were released on a various Artist Album Called Maccabees 1. While working at Easy Street Studio he produced [a=Dennis Brown] and played a major role in re launching his career, his first major success as a producer was '[m=311147]' in March 1983, initially released in a pressing of 500 on his Maccabees label, but reissued the following year on his [l128533] label under licence to EMI records through Jet Star Phonographic, and going on to sell over 80,000 copies in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Unfortunately neither Dennis nor Keith benefited from these sales because every one who put their finger in that pie, starting with EMI records, ripped them off. Around the same time he released a song co produced with Walter Fraser, [a=John Holt] singing '[m=533752]', a cover version of [a=Lionel Richie]’s song, which was very popular through out Europe and America. He also co produced Dennis Brown '[r=6982426]'. Janice McKenzie over saw the day-to-day publishing from the Mill Hill office in Trafalgar House In the early 1990s, Keith Wint became one of UK's most in-demand producers, with the likes of Dennis Brown, John Holt, [a=Junior Delgado], [a=Sugar Minott], [a=Phillip Fraser], [a=Alton Ellis], [a=Tyrone Taylor], [a=Trevor Walters], [a=Jackie Mittoo], [a=Gene Rondo], [a=Colour Man], [a1374007], [a=Ernest Wilson],[a=Hughie Izaachar], [a=Jean Adebambo], [a=Christine McNabb], [a=Bobby Blue], [a=Pablo Diamond], [a=Sly & Robbie], [a=The Darbaz], [a=Roots Radics], and more recently [a=Freddie McGregor], [a=Determine] and [a=Demolition Man], all using his services. He also continued to record himself. Singing songs like 'Stepping over Shadows', written by his childhood friend Fitzroy Hughes, whose father was a musician with a band. Keith used to go to Fitzroy’s home and listen to Fitzroy's father while he rehearsed with his band. The sounds of the three piece horn sections, the Drum and the Bass left a lasting impression on Keith and the music bug was in his blood, as if his life depended on it. The late 1990s saw him still very active as a producer, but his output in the late 1990s was significantly less He began to build his own studio and is working on reissues of much of his back catalogue, as well as new recordings. He continues to produce new material. |
