Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Katrineholms Kammarkör Swedish mixed amateur choir from Katrineholm. The choir was created in 1974 by the cantor and teacher Ingemar Peterson (1926–2016). Peterson was the choir's conductor until the spring of 2009, when he led a farewell concert in Floda Church, where he previously worked as a cantor. Since its inception, Katrineholm's chamber choir has had a mixed sacred and profane repertoire - from the 16th century onwards. The chorus has taken inspiration from Eric Ericson. In 1986, Katrineholm's chamber choir was named Choir of the Year at the choir meeting in Skinnskatteberg. Prior to that, in 1982 the first prize had been shared at a driving competition in Debrecen, Hungary. The choir has toured in several European countries. One of the choir's major performances at home in Katrineholm was when they together with the Music Society in Katrineholm - now Katrineholm Symphony Orchestra - performed Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson's musical Chess in the autumn of 1990. Among other major performances are Joseph Haydns Skapelsen and Johann Sebastian Bachs Johannespassionen. A regularly recurring tradition is an Advent and Christmas concert - for theological reasons now called Advent vespers - in Nävertorp's church, Katrineholm. Since 1979, Katrineholm's Chamber Choir has released four LPs and a cassette tape with Christmas carols. All four LPs have a tree trunk with linden leaves by Katrineholm artist Calle Jonzon (died 2008) on the cover. Ingemar Peterson has also been conductor of Katrineholm's men's choir, Floda church choir and Nävertorp's church choir. He has also been chairman of Katrineholm's chamber music association.

Not your typical cowboy, Chuck Camp held a B.A. in Physics and an M.A. in Education and was a college science teacher. He also served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War, earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. A resident of Colorado Springs in the 1950's, Chuck was one of the earlier recruits to the Flying W Wranglers group which provided musical entertainment for Russ Wolfe's Flying W Ranch outfit. In 1969 he left the Flying W group and headed to Tucson, AZ where he founded his own outfit, the Triple C Ranch Chuckwagon and its entertainers, the Triple C Wranglers. He returned to his alma mater on the weekend of Oct 3-4, 1975 when Russ threw a two-day shindig in Colorado Springs to celebrate the nation's bicentennial. Chuck and his wife retired from performing in 1990 and their son Bill took over running the Triple C Ranch operation until the facility closed in 2003.

Search Add 2 Plastik Kettle Alessandro Pintus & Corrado Caocci Alessandro Pintus and Corrado Caocci first met each other in Cagliari (Sardinia) respectively at the age of 17 and 15, at a private party as deejays. They immediately began an ever-intensifying collaboration, oriented towards the experimenting with sounds and melodies in exclusively electronic contexts, up until the creation of the project PLaSTiK KeTTLe, inspired by the universe of robots and the passion for the synth. Within this "plastic-kettle" electro-rhythms are mixed to ambient- textures, vocoders and glitch sounds which, heated by the oscillators of the synths, produce those landscaped images which can exist only in a harmonic world of music and individuals.

Search Add 2 Laboratorio de Interpretación Musical Laboratorio de Interpretación Musical The LIM (Laboratory of Musical Interpretation) was created in November 1975 with the firm purpose of going to greater depth in the study and performance of contemporary music. Since the debut of its founder members (Esperanza Abad, Rafael Gómez Senosiain and Jesús Villa-Rojo) in Madrid before the public and the media, it has continually been improving its cultural work, whether in its concert, research or educational facets. As an organiser of established concert series, it is the oldest in Madrid, uninterrupted since that date in Bilbao (Festival de Música del siglo XX), Barcelona or Pamplona, among other extraordinary events; whether within our frontiers (with a regular presence in the International Festivals of Santander and Granada, the Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Salamanca, Sevilla, Málaga...), or beyond them, with frequent performance tours in festivals all over Europe (among others, Italy, France, Russia, Hungary…) and Latin America (especially Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico and Brazil). Its capacity to adapt to the ensembles demanded for contemporary chamber music under conditions of an optimum performance quality (Premio Nacional del Disco), have conferred it marked singularity for each one of its public performances. A formal singularity which has ranged from the musical ensemble of its first series, to the innovating clarinet quintet, collaborations with plastic or video artists, electro-acoustic music, soloists or regular chamber ensembles. The production of records (recordings for the following labels: RCA, CBS, Dial, Movieplay, RTVE, SGAE, LIM-BBK, besides the creation of its own label, LIM RECORDS) and books like LIM 75-85, LIM 85-95 and Lim2mil (A synthesis of contemporary music in Spain) have completed this determination to disseminate music. The natural pioneering characteristic of avant-garde music has brought about the obligation of presenting a few hundred premieres, debuts in Spain and abroad, of numerous scores, that in many cases, the authors wrote especially for this group. Search Add 2 Sands Pleine Sands Pleine is a topological band. The two founders of Cairn Desk Composition Front occasionally come together to perform as Sands Pleine. The stand-in/fictional identity Sands Pleine is target/proxy for automatic, irrational compositional decision making. Performance environments have included: Clarinet / feedbackloop / guitar / subwoofer, separately thrucomposed production pieces, text-to-speech beatbox through timbral modulation, granular sampling of entire hi-def pop compositions, dub-systems with MC, stacking of prepackaged sample-libraries... always with a keen sensitivity toward sporadic, un-trustworthy content sources, and a generally hands-off attitude.

Search Add 2 Keef Storm Keith Robinson Glasgow rave pioneer and leader of Desert Storm Soundsystem. HE was a mixed-race Celtic fan credited with founding the rave movement in Glasgow during the early 1990s. Keith Robinson was a leading member of the Desert Storm Soundsystem – a group of larger than life characters who organised free (and usually illegal) parties across the UK and Europe. Affectionately known as 'Keef', he led the charge as Desert Storm famously brought their beats to Bosnia as humanitarian relief during the Balkans conflict. At one party the front-line was a mere 10km away - they were asked to turn off their lights in case they attracted enemy fire. The group eventually becoming a significant pillar of the Teknival movement. After decades of championing the resistance against night-time curfews, a heavy-hearted post appeared on Desert Storm’s Facebook page announcing Keith’s death. The 48-year-old was said to have died taking his own life in the River Thames on September 18 last year. Desert Storm posted: “Tragically Keith Robinson ended his extraordinary and wonderful life in the River Thames on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September, apparently by choice. “His loving family needs time and space to grieve and come to terms with such a terrible and unexpected event. “They ask his many friends to share their sorrow and be patient for news until the circumstances have been better understood. The full account and funeral arrangements will be posted here as soon as possible. X” An inquest into his death will be held today at Poplar Coroner’s Court in London. Life of 'Keef' Albeit under a cloud of grief, Desert Storm celebrate 25 official years together this year. Their first rave – and Glasgow’s first illegal rave – is said to have taken place around 1991 in a disused warehouse near the docks. They said the event “was a great success with hundreds of people enjoying music late into the morning hours”. People were charged for entry, but “after some major trouble with local gangsters trying to control the door”, future events were made free. Followers will remember their continued defiance of the Conservative government’s legislative crackdown on raves, free parties and festivals throughout that decade. Acid house parties became the target of political repression in the early 90s, often taking residence in venues far away from residential areas such as squatted warehouses, empty military bases, beaches, forests or fields. This culminated in the 1994 the Criminal Justice Bill which outlawed such events, giving police new powers to stop them and seize equipment. The sound system delivered the soundtrack to a massive protest in London’s Trafalgar Square, which saw 10,000 people attend. During this event Desert Storm were approached by a member of Workers Aid for Bosnia, who asked if they would host a New Year’s Eve “morale boosting gig” in the war zone. Putting their own lives at risk they agreed, and set off that December with five aid convoy trucks, actually crossing the frontline as they travelled to Tuzla. The eventually arrived safely. During the gig itself, local police allowed the music to continue provided the lights were turned off, with soldiers dancing alongside local until the small hours. In a documentary tracking a journey to Sarajevo, Robinson said: “We don’t think that music is a luxury. We think it’s an essential. Yet it’s always one of the first casualties of war.” After Keith’s death, heartbroken tributes poured in for the resilient raver.
