Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Marye Lobb Marye Lobb Marye Lobb is a singer/songwriter from Rochester, NY. After living in the south of Chile, she discovered her true calling when she picked up a guitar and the songs began to pour out. Upon her return, she studied at the Berklee College of Music, and released her first album, Finding Home, just as she graduated in 2008. Finding Home has many world music influences, particularly from South America. She experimented with many different latin rhythms and arrangements and sang in English, Spanish and Portuguese throughout the work. Her second album: NOT AT WAR was released in 2012; its acoustic folk vibe has a Bossa Nova twist.

Search Add 2 Medicinska Spexarcorpsen From Gothenburg, Sweden, formed in 1954 with the set of the spex Faust or The Wise Stone. Medicinarspexet is still active and is run by students in health science educations at Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. In Medicinarspexet, both women and men are on stage. The spex is played with various historical events or fictional works as a background and is performed to a live orchestra with string, wind and comp section. The singers speak and sing without electric amplification. Performance venues are usually the Stenhammarsalen, the back pocket of Gothenburg's concert hall. The script is written by a special author committee, Författeriet. The music is arranged especially for the orchestra and lyrics are written by various old singers according to the motto "to combine new lyrics with classical music so that the music feels new and the lyrics become classical". In addition to the orchestra and actors on stage (stage goers), the spex engages many more groups. Their commitments include decor (plank), clothing, makeup, sound, lighting, subtitling, tickets, contacts and peripheral arrangements. Often about fifty people are involved. Medicinarspexet has a rich exchange with the sister spexet at the Swedish-language medical education in Helsinki, the "Medicinarklubben Thorax". Each spex goes on tour to the other once a year.

Composed of a group of highly spirited, and multi-talented, professional entertainers, Gypsy Dance Theatre invites its audiences to tap into the muse of the quintessential Gypsy spirit. Incorporating music, song, dance, and humorous theatre pieces, their shows include influences from many of the world's diverse ethnic cultures. Creativity and improvisation insure that no two shows are alike. Beneath it all runs a current of powerful rhythms and music performed on everything from Indian bamboo flutes, Turkish ney, clarinet, accordion, mando-cello, and vocal harmonies, to tribal drums from Africa and the Orient. By design, creativity and improvisation insure that no two Gypsy Dance Theatre shows are alike. Experience Gypsy Dance Theatre and let your own gypsy spirit fly free.

Search Add 2 The Simon Hopper Band Simon Hopper is a singer / songwriter who has been on the folk / roots scene for some time. A few years ago he ran the now defunct Bromley Acoustic Music Club and in 2006 re - emerged with his band. The four piece consists of Simon on acoustic guitar, Leigh Trowbridge on electric guitar, Andee Price electric bass and mandolin and John Fisher on drums (bigger venues and recording). Andee is classically trained and all four perform vocals. We are asked to file the music under jazz-influenced acoustic and soul-based folk rock. I thought it a sandwich of love songs and enigmatic political diatribes, pleasantly produced, nicely played and with a fairly obvious folk influence. The lyrics are contained in the accompanying booklet.

Search Add 2 Vinka Ellesin Vinka Ellesin was a folk singer who sang Serbian music in the sevdalinka style. The national Serbian community referred to her as the Queen of Sevdalinka. She was born to Serbian immigrants, Djoka and Sophia (Soka) Ellesin, in Akron, Ohio around 1921. By the age of 16, she was singing on a nationally broadcast radio show on WADC. Later, she performed at the Black Whale, a well-known club in Cleveland. In 1938, the bandleader Sammy Kaye invited her to audition to be the lead vocalist in his orchestra, but she turned him down, preferring to continue singing Serbian folk music instead. During World War II, Ellesin performed at the Blue Danube and the Russian Samovar in Detroit, Mich. where she lived. Ellesin stayed in the Pittsburgh area for an extended period of time in the early 1950s while she performed nightly at the Sunrise Inn in Monroeville, Pa. During the 1930s through the 1970s, Ellesin toured throughout North America and Australia while returning to Pittsburgh many times to perform at local Serb National Federation events.

Search Add 2 Dreamland Circus Dreamland Circus is the inspired lovechild of long time friends and collaborators [a=Vagrant (3)], and [a=Shady Monk] (David Gravagno). Driven by their shared love and appreciation for the iconic experimental/ambient/IDM electronic duo [a=Boards of Canada] (brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin), the two set out on creating a full length tribute, aimed at honoring the nostalgic sounds and otherworldly vibes associated with BoC*, and after some meticulous tinkering, their first album 'Wonderphase' was complete. 'Wonderphase' was originally release on [l=Eyesix Records] in 2015, but following some unfortunate information that came to light regarding the labels director, and the subsequent disappearance of the label & it's respective platforms, the album was officially unavailable for the better part of 2 years. After some time, thought, and the apparent desire from fans of the release to see it reissued, Dreamland Circus did just that, and re-released the album via their own personal Bandcamp page on July 4th, 2017. The following is a forum post by [a=Vagrant (3)] via the twoism.org (BoC fan website) on the subject: (Tue Jul 04, 2017 8:53 pm) "After the fiasco with Eyesix, our album Wonderphase had no download available. Since then, we have decided to take it upon ourselves to set up a nice pay-what-you-want Bandcamp page for the album. I want to personally thank everyone who pushed us to get this album out again. It means a lot to see such enthusiasm for a project that took quite a long time to complete, made as a passion project and inspired both by the Sandison brothers and the wonderful community that thrives on sites like Twoism. We hope you enjoy the album."
