Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 8 Travis Kidd ROOTS ROCK / COUNTRY SOUL : music from Tulsa, OK: As a full-time musician from Tulsa, OK, Travis Kidd averages roughly 250 shows per year as a solo artist and with his full band. His style can be hard to pin down, incorporating elements of classic and southern rock, country, blues, and folk, proving Kidd to be an eclectic mix as singer/songwriter and acclaimed guitar player. Anyone who remembers his past two releases, MidAmerica and Anytown USA, knows that his sound is hard to corner. A rocker at heart with distinctive country influences, Kidd incorporates it all into his songs. Touches of classic rock, ‘80s guitar rock, and traditional country all come together in his songwriting. If anything, Kidd’s songs might best be described as sounding like summer in Oklahoma, and the new songs follow suit with 2021 release, East of the Rockies. Search Add 8 Sublimatus Ontario, Canada based experimental rock trio which was formed in the late 80s. Sublimatus has been a transformational concept used by Zena Hagerty and Walter G. Peter as a creative principle for over 20 years. On its own, as a concept in the collective unconscious Sublimatus crosses the bounds of the physical, psychological and spiritual worlds. In the physical world, the term from chemistry to sublimate: “is to change a solid to a gas and back to a solid.” When used in psychology it denotes the act of using base instincts and energy in a productive/inspirational manner. For example a young bully takes up playing the guitar. Two of the most obvious usages of Sublimatus in the English language are the words subliminal and sublime. To sublimate is used in Alchemy, “an ancient form of mysticism”, as part of a process, which is intended to cause “individuation.” The process works on the premise that the individual is incomplete, but can become complete through a series of conscious mystical acts. With this in mind Zena, Walter have used Sublimatus as a watch word behind a multi-media arts center, a free form sound unit, posters and billboards, multi-media art installations, a sponsor of a bicycle team, a countless number of HAPPENINGS in the tradition of “Dada and being in the moment”. Sublimatus has run on the intent to cause the audience and artist to question ones motives/actions.

Search Add 8 So Sexual So Sexual are: Peter – Vocals & Guitar James – Synth & Keyboards Thom – Bass Guitar Philip – Drums Formed in Liverpool at the start of 2012, So sexual are a four piece post punk band. The band have steadily built a strong set of contemporary, progressive songs that manage to capture and nurture the combined influences of the quartets formative years. Their forlorn gothic melodies thinly veil often uplifting undertones that never stray too far from the next hook. This is pop music for the disenchanted. Having created a buzz amongst their local scene on shows with the likes of Death Masks, The Shondes, British Sea Power and Outfit, and following on from the release of first single ‘This is where the story ends’, the band prepare to take a step up with new release ‘Transient Scenes’ on Bleeding Gold Records (Just Handshakes, Songs for Walter, Indoor Voices). Recorded over a single weekend in the bands home city of Liverpool this is the sound of a band that having found its feet is preparing to run.
