Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Michael Weisshaupt | Michael Weisshaupt, the former Singer and Guitarist of an Indie-Folk-Band from Stuttgart, has been pursuing his solo career since 2002. His music can most likely be labelled “Contemporary Indie Folk” as the songs contain current stylistic elements, but also traditional melodies and instrumentation. To this extent the result is both a time-less and contemporary mixture of different styles. The lyrics, which are of no less sig-nificance to the songs, emerge in both German and English. What started off as a relaxing project without great ambitions and with a pleasure for music, has turned out to be an exciting story. While the desire to experiment with samples, loops and various guitar sounds was the greater focus on the first album “Disconnect” and therefor providing the record with a – for the singer/songwriter - unusual, more experimental sound which seems to make the songs stand out. The sec-ond album “Schön ist es” had a surprising effect with its more homogeneous song collection and production. Precise guitar lines and arrangements, concise voices and reduced drums, shape this record, being stylistically categorised somewhere between Folk and Indie. The album “Sag mir wohin”, which was released in 2010, was the most complete album up to that point. “Stadt ohne Himmel” or “Sag mir wohin” are quite simply successful songs with recognition value. “Out of Season” was released in 2012 as a “concept al-bum” being structured around a beautiful string arrangement. Therefore not only are there only pure string passages in each of the ten songs, they more or less cover the keyboard features. The strings, featured in “Out of Season” shape the core of each in-dividual piece, surrounded by the other instruments. Therefore the songs sound more diverse and the wonderful melodies are presented with astonishing depth and warmth. In 2015 the fifth record “Auf Sicht” followed. Another piece closer the roots: Hand-made singer/songwriter music with a vintage vibe, meaning it contains many interest-ing retro instruments and the matching songs. Sometimes forceful, rhythmic (“Melan-choly”), sometimes firm-snappy (“Die leeren Tage) or just reduced to the basics (“Time to go”). A lot of experience and things from the last years have influenced this beauti-ful, mature record which seems notably calm and relaxed despite the high-end pro-duction. Therefore it maybe marks the end- or starting point –depending on how one looks at it- of a musical development which began ten years ago. In 2018 Michael Weisshaupt released his sixth album to date, „Random Karma“. What immediately stands out in “Random Karma” in comparison to the previous albums is the significantly reduced use of acoustic guitars. They had to make room to distorted vintage crunch guitars of various colours and find themselves only in the song "Rain-maker". With the dominate electric guitars, the sound accordingly it is much more straight and rougher than in the previous albums. Also noteworthy, and a novelty in the discography of Michael Weisshaupt, is the fact that all the lyrics on "Random Kar-ma" are in English. While the previous albums offered a more or less varied lyrical mix of German and English lyrics (the first two records even contain two songs in French), there is a deliberate reduction and limitation also in linguistic terms on this album. In combination with the likewise reduced instrumentation (mainly guitars, drums, bass and vocals), a highly compact and dense listening experience is created, that can be heard both quietly and loud turned up.

They went on to form [a=Chicken Bowels] after leaving Plazma-X. Their drummer, Nobu is ex-自我 ([a=Jiga (2)]). The band's musical style shifted to speed metal (w/ punk influences) ~ heavy metal in their later years, released at least two demos in 1986 and 1987, and the now (super) hard-to-find 7" flexi "Masquerade" on the band's own label in 1988. Only a couple of hundred copies of them were made and sold locally. The band was active until 1990, but apparently played a reunion show in 2014, then another one in 2017.

Search | Add | 8 | Joanie Myburgh | Having previously provided guest vocals for post-punk artists Phobophobes and Boab, London-based indie-pop artist Joanie Myburgh has now released her debut solo EP Neurotica via Permanent Creeps Records. A cult-favorite in the London live-scene, supporting alternative rock acts like Black Lips and The Moonlandingz, Joanie infuses the grit and punk ethos of sweaty basement rock into her glittery, glamorous orb. She enlists UK-based artist and producer Jessica Winter, known for her moody soundscapes, who lays down stabbing, ominous synths that layer the four-track project with a spell-binding, dystopian edge. Joanie's lead track "Schadenfreude" shines as the apex of the project, its wicked and rapturous composition tottering between disco decadence and haunting apocalypse. "'Schadenfreude' interrogates the sickness of the modern age," Joanie tells PAPER, "where the downfall of celebrated women is entertainment." The sickly sweet delivery of the impossibly grim is tantamount to Joanie's magic. "Kerosene," with its luxurious music video directed by Ash K Halliburton, takes on the melodramatic world of the iconic '70s film Pink Narcissus. The intoxicating result captures the "intoxication, obsession and escapism" of the homoerotic oldie. From camp anthems to nihilistic eroticism, Joanie's overt interest in first-world hedonism creates thematic anchors in the project, using pop culture as kitschy, ironic breadcrumbs for contemplation. Her biting commentary, satirical edge and catchy lyricism push the strobe-lit dance songs and glossy production into exciting territory.

Search | Add | 8 | Philippine Brass Band | Philippine culture is a combination of Eastern and Western cultures. The Philippines exhibits aspects found in other Asian countries with a Malay heritage, yet its culture also displays a significant amount of Spanish and American influences. Traditional festivities known as barrio fiestas (district festivals) to commemorate the feast days of patron saints are common. The Moriones Festival and Sinulog Festival are a couple of the most well-known. These community celebrations are times for feasting, music, and dancing. Some traditions, however, are changing or gradually being forgotten due to modernization. The Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company has been lauded for preserving many of the various traditional folk dances found throughout the Philippines. They are famed for their iconic performances of Philippine dances such as the tinikling and singkil that both feature the use of clashing bamboo poles. In these fiestas and festivals various bands and ensemble play the Brass Band Instruments- the tuba, xylophone, saxophone, clarinet and oboe. The sheet above issued in 2001 features these instruments. Search | Add | 8 | Patricia Scot | Charlotte Anne Shealy | American vocalist, born 23 October 1931. At 17, she began singing with various groups in and around Milwaukee; she went on a country-wide tour with the Tommy Reed Band, a group out of Chicago. After the tour, she returned to Milwaukee, she sang in clubs around Wisconsin for a while, changing her name to Patricia Scot. She moved to Chicago, and one of her first breaks came when acclaimed tenor saxophonist [a262140] invited her to sing with his band in Toronto. Soon after this, Patricia signed her first recording contract with [l627117], and later with [l8511]. She also sang at a popular jazz club called the Steamliner, which was known for it's guest artists who included Bill Evans, on leave from the army on weekends, and Anita O'Day. Scot was approached by CBS Talent Director [a5306092] to join WBBM, where she sang on a morning radio show for several months. This led to her five-year stint with the hit TV show "In Town Tonight". TV Guide awarded Scot "Best Female Singer" for 1955. In 1957, she met and married Mike Nichols, moving to New York City. It was while in NY she met [a97480] which led to the recording of her album [m1033126]. Pat continued on the hotel and club circuit until 1970, when she put the music scene on the backburner after meeting and marrying, hotel manager Jim Dickerson. They were invited to a White House party hosted by President Nixon. Pat spent the next 20-years working in the Banking industry, and on her retirement fell into piano tuning when she was unable to get a tuner for her piano. Since then she has tuned pianos professionally, and following the death of her husband, in 1997, decided to get back into performing. In 1999 she met Trumpeter Jack Yorton and together they formed a quartet, "Prime Time", they married in 2000 and continued to play in the Central Florida region until 2008 including a brief stint with a local big band "The Golden Era", based in Sebring, FL. |

Search | Add | 8 | Roberto Carlotto | Roberto Carlotto | Keyboardist Roberto Carlotto from Varese, whose nickname was [a992789], began playing since his childhood, though his musical career was seriously compromised by an aircraft accident that caused him some heavy injuries. His beginnings as a professional musician took him to play in England, Germany and Switzerland, where he even had the chance of supporting such artists like [a11012] and [a97325]. In Italy he had previously played with Big 66, [a1926928] and later with [a859844] in [a2076184], in 1970, before entering a solo career starting with a single in 1971. As a solo artist, Carlotto was easily recognised by his very good technical quality and the high level of his equipment, that included an incredible number of different keyboards and even the early examples of tape drum machines. His only solo album, Dedicato a Giovanna G., with his outrageous cover, is a soft-prog album, obviously dominated by Hunka's keyboards (especially his self-customized Hammond organ) and odd tremolo voice resembling Demis Roussos or Bee Gees. Among the backing musicians were drummer [a3181194] from [a1214435] and guitarist Ivan Graziani, that had also played in Anonima Sound before leaving for a successful solo career. The album contains 11 short tracks, two of which also released on single, mostly in a pop style and sometimes marred by orchestral and backing singers arrangements, like in Io canterò per te. Anyway it contains some nice moments for prog fans, like Ruote e sogni, the album's longest track with very good organ playing. After the album release Carlotto joined [a583578] in 1973, again with drummer [a1438006] and still plays with him now as "Carlotto & Cucciolo". He has also presumably released an electronic album in 1984, Promise of love (Atlantide AMX 12003), under the name [a511333]. In the early 2000's the collaboration with keyboardist from Calabria [a511340], talented user and repairer of vintage keyboards, for the proposed revitalisation of the Hunka Munka name, didn't gave any result. In 2011 Roberto Carlotto joined the reformed [a788246] and is still playing with them. |

Later, Yoo Hyeon-Sang went on to record several teuroteu (the oldest form of Korean pop music, highly similar to Japanese enka) albums. He was forced to change musical styles in order to gain his love's parents' approval for marriage. He is also a prominent producer. He re-joined the band in 2009 along with Kim Do-Kyoon. The band also appears with two songs on the "Rock N' Roll Korea" compilation LP, released in 1983. The short-lived version of "Power Baekdoosan" was considered the same band, but with a completely new line-up (except for Kim Chang-Shik and the return of Lee Geon-Tae). They played to death/thrash. Reformed with older line-up once again to record "Return of the King". It's a return to their old traditional metal sound. |
