Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Intense Molecular Activity | Intense Molecular Activity aka IMA was based in New York City and active between 1979 and 1982 as the duo of Don Hunerberg (synthesizers) and Andy Blinx (drums and percussion). Don, a studio Sound / music engineer and musician, Andy an electronic clothing designer, drummer and sound reinforcement engineer at downtown clubs like Max's Kansas City, Mudd Club and CBGB. In between doing sessions at Radio City Music Hall Studios for groups such as Ramones, Richard Hell, Sonic Youth, Liquid Liquid, John Zorn, Glenn Branca and many others, IMA took advantage of off hours to create their own music. As far as influences go, Don's background was in electronic music and Andy's in prog rock. To produce the songs, Don used his own method of creating patterns from 2-track tape loops and then edited them together on to a 24-track recorder adding more tracks of overdubs, In a very similar way that sequencers are used today. By 1980 the duo honed their own unique sound and version of Post Punk and No-Wave with the tools of the trade of the early 1980s. Situated above the proscenium of the Radio City Music Hall stage, the studio was outfitted with a variety of orchestral instruments (timpani, bells, xylophone, etc). They self-released a 4-song EP titled “IMA” on an 8” flexi-disc which was distributed by Ed Bahlman of 99 Records. The music bridges the wild psychedelic-rock of the 60s, the synth-punk of the late-70s and the elaborate constructions of progressive-rock. There are nods to the freak-outs of Chrome and the super neurosis of Suicide, but IMA takes a more clinical approach which also takes notice of Hawkwind and Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive. Some 20 years later DJ Hell lifted elements of IMA's song Blurb virtually intact and uncredited for his electroclash club hit Keep On Waiting (2003).

Search | Add | 3 | Hank Raffetto | Born in Ellwood City, PA, Hank Raffetto got his early music education on sax and drums. While in trade school for Drafting and Construction, he "found the blues" while attending shows featuring Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, the Nighthawks and the Fabulous T-birds. This led him into playing bass guitar and forming the band No Money Down. While running a blues bar named The Ellton (which was later tragically destroyed), Hank helped form The Hellhounds with Don Hollowood. With the addition of Jill West, Blues Attack was born. In 1995, Hank created The 'Get Off My Case Company', which builds custom traveling cases for touring bands and sound companies. The rest is history in the making!

Search | Add | 3 | Frank Lini | Frank Starks | Frank Starks (born JULY,07 1982 in Fort Myers, Florida) is a southern style rap artist. He is best known as a ghetto poet who delivers his lyrics from deep with-in his soul. Frank began developing his sharp tongue and penetrating voice at the age 14 years old when he fell into rap. His first mixtape struck a cord in his local fans, which in return gave him the title “Lee County Lini” and “The City”. Frank Lini first mixtape was nominated for underground album of the year. Frank has been featured in multiple magazine publications for his musical talents such as Hood, Ozone, Voice, and 239 Hip-Hop. Frank Lini makes music that has real feel to it, that taps into the emotions of his listeners. Born Frank Starks in Ft. Myers, Fla., Frank has been fighting to survive the wretched city streets of “Lil Pakistan” for the vast majority of his life. Hustling since he was a youngster, he was constantly in and out of trouble and spent his adolescent years revolving through juvenile corrections facilities. His life began to change, however, when he began making homemade rap tapes with friend. He adopted his stage name “Lini” to pay homage to his native Lee County. “When I first started rapping, it was a way for me to channel all of my frustrations into music,” Lini remembers. “It was so easy because I just let that voice inside of me speak.” While recording his debut album I’m All In in the summer of 2006, he was arrested and began a three-year legal battle which resulted in jail time and probation. Although that run-in with the law was a major setback, which killed the conversations between him a Major record labels. it also provided him with an opportunity to reach even deeper into the streets and even further solidify a strong fan base in Florida. The "ALL IN" album was released in December 2007 on independent label Tohilh Music Group and quickly became the streets’ Bible. Frank’s gritty delivery and pain-filled lyrics on runaway singles “I Ain’t Friendly” and “I’m All In” prompted the streets to rally around him as unofficial mayor of Ft. Myers. By the time of the follow-up album Green Light dropped, Frank gained the attention of industry heavyweights like Rick Ross, Mayback Music Group and Akon, Konvict Music. He had been nominated by Hood magazine as the 2007 Underground Album of the Year and secured a feature appearance on Triple Cs 2009 album Custom Cars & Cycles on single “Throw Em In the Sky,” which was also featured on AllHipHop.com. He was also selected to be featured in Ozone magazine’s Patiently Waiting section and received a Duval Diamond Award for his relentless grind. Now, Frank Lini is back like he never left. He has been steadily gaining new fans and keeping the streets duly satisfied with his latest single “Pressure”. “My ultimate goal is to take over this rap game,” says Lini. “I won’t follow the beaten path. I’m a trailblazer so instead of following anybody, I choose to hold out and wait for the world to catch up to what I’m doing down here in Florida. Better opportunities are on the horizon.” |

Search | Add | 3 | Esther Ford | Rev. Lady Esther Ford Carroll | Lady Esther Ford was a nationally renowned gospel singer, minister, tambourine player, playwright, and producer. Born December 30,1930 her musical career began at the early age of five. She was billed as the “Child Wonder Gospel Singer.” Ford sang with The Famous [a= Ward Singers], [a= The Stars Of Faith], and many other famous gospel singers. Around 1958, Ford, [a= Kitty Parham], [a= Marion Williams], [a= Frances Steadman], and [a= Henrietta Waddy] resigned from the [a= Ward Singers] to form [a= The Stars Of Faith]. Ford was also the group’s first manager and driver, and [a= Kitty Parham] helped secure the bookings, since she had kept the names of all the Ward sponsors and promoters written in a notebook. Ford was the first in many things including member of the first African American group ([a=The Stars Of Faith])to sing before the Pope at the Vatican, Carnegie Hall, and Radio City Music Hall. Pope Paul IV stated that he was so spiritually moved by Lady Esther’s rendition of “Come Ye Disconsolate”. In 1964, she also founded and recorded the first Interracial Gospel Group [a= The Exodus Singers]. The newly formed integrated female group recorded an album in the United States on the Savoy Records. Ford also recorded her first solo album, “Profiles of a Great Lady,” which was on the Nashboro Label. Esther traveled internationally and nationally for more than 80 years using her voice to spread the gospel in song. Esther Ford at the age of 85 died in August 2016, and was the last surviving member of the original [a= Ward Singers] and [a= The Stars Of Faith]. |

Gregurich | John "Greyko" Gregurich, is a Croatian American Tamburitza player, producer, director of the Pittsburgh Tamburitzans and a member of the Tamburitzan Association of America Hall of Fame. Born and raised in Library, Pennsylvania, John Gregurich was an only child in the family of John and Catherine Pavlakovic Gregurich, who had emigrated from the Croatian province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the turn of the last century. Following his graduation from South Park High School, where he played football, Mr. Gregurich declined two football scholarships and enrolled at Duquesne University. He became a member of the Tamburitzans, who at the time were under the direction of Matt Gouze. In 1944, Mr. Gregurich and several other male Tamburitzans were drafted. As a member of the Army Air Corps, Mr. Gregurich was stationed stateside until he was discharged a year later. Upon returning to Duquesne University, he rejoined the Tamburitzans and completed his degree in history and political science. Upon graduating from Duquesne in 1952, Mr. Gregurich began to compose and arrange what Ruparcich called Southern Slavic music. In the same year he also organized a Tamburitzan recording orchestra, which he named Greyko. "They toured the country for over 20 years," Ruparcich said. Gregurich also established his Greyko Record Co., located in Lawrenceville, where he manufactured, wholesaled and retailed Southern Slavic music with an international flavor. Slovenian American musician, [a5805854], was his partner, confidant and business associate. He passed away in 2002

Search | Add | 3 | The New Chordettes | Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, Never On A Sunday, Eddie My Love...all songs made famous by The Chordettes. In 1946, The Chordettes premiered on The Arthur Godfrey Show, and their lush vocal sound brought them a string of hits turning them into a singing sensation! Forty years later, Judy Duncan and her husband Bob decided to bring back those musical memories and reorganized the group into the current New Chordettes. With beautiful costumes, elegant choreography, slick and sassy comedy, audience participation and silky harmonies, The New Chordettes create four-part and solo vocal magic that leave every audience wanting more! They bring a rich taste of The Big Band era with such standards as In The Mood, Begin The Beguine, Stardust and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. These lovely ladies have recreated the original sound of the great 50’s and 60’s girl groups with songs by The Shirelles, The McGuire Sisters, The Supremes and many others. Their harmonizing and doo-wopping is a trip down nostalgia lane – a collection of poodle skirts, cat-eye glasses and the girls in love with the guys in love with their cars. Each concert is full with hit songs reminiscent of a bygone era. Roars of laughter are heard as the girls sing to unsuspecting but delighted men in the crowd. They sit on laps, rub bald heads and leave many a surprised audience member red-faced but with a beaming smile. Whether it’s fox trotting at an elegant black tie event, or bopping at a 50’s sock hop, audiences all around the world are clapping, laughing, dancing and singing along with …. the New Chordettes!

Search | Add | 3 | The Degrads | Creating a mishmash of five-minutes-ago punk, early 80's college-radio sounds, FM rock, and general goofiness, the Degrads foisted a batch of quirky, original, musically-accomplished-but-deliberately-silly songs upon the sleepy Rochester suburbs in the summer of 1982. From the whiny, lightweight punk of "Dopes!" and "I Should've Worn Shorts With Pockets" to the snotty party grooves of "Dancing in My Underwear" and "Get Down – Get Back Up Again!" to the sophomoric comedy of "I Don't Care if She Smells" and "Eat Roughage" to the bizarre musical theater of "Eggplants and Venison Stew" (which was performed live by hand-puppets) . . . well, the titles say it all, don't they? Among the tracks heard here are signature tune "What's My Problem?" and tongue-in-cheek ballads "Fun with a Porpoise" and "Nancy" (both sung by 15-year-old Spuzzy Dynamite). The Degrads returned in the summer of '83, by which time they had begun to take themselves more seriously as a "new music" band. That season brought them Rochester club outings (notably with the Chesterfield Kings), college radio airplay, and a local TV appearance (see pictures). Their self-released pop-punk single, "I Saw Bobbie Sobbing in the Lobby", earned them a review in Trouser Press before they disbanded.

The line-up were first known as "The Plazents", named after Mary Regan's well known Plaza Ballroom in Old Hill where the band became the resident act. "They are all good musicians - quite a rarity among modern beat groups" The Plazents were formed in Erdington by drummer Dave Mountney (from the Beachcombers), guitarists Graham Gallery and Roger Hill (both previously with a group called "Bobby and The Dominators") while saxophonist Paul Carter came from Northfield. By 1963, The Plazents had enlisted Buddy Ash from Smethwick, formerly of The Eko's and the Diplomats, as their lead vocalist. While at the Plaza, the group were able to back some well known visiting American artists such as Tommy Roe, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chris Montez, The Ronettes, and many more. The positive response to The Plazents from the Plaza regulars was such that they were signed to a recording contract by Decca Records in July 1963 although it would not be until September before they could go into the studio due to bass guitarist Graham Gallery having a bout with pneumonia. Decca also told the group to get another drummer so Dave Mountney was replaced by Alan "Bugsy" Eastwood. In order to capitalize on the so-called "Mersey Beat" mania that was sweeping the country at that time, the term "Brum Beat" was being used by some promoters as a means of advertising West Midlands groups who had recently been signed-up. In light of this, Decca Records decided that The Plazents name should be changed to "The Brumbeats" prior to the release of their first single. (Note: there was also another 1960's group in Birmingham called "The Brum Beats" whose vocalist Norman Haines would later join the group Locomotive). Decca Records chose a great song for the A-side of The Brumbeats first record release that had been composed by the group themselves. The track was called 'I Don't Understand' with the recording done very much in the style of the popular "Mersey Sound" while also considered as potential material for well known singer Billy Fury. The song was actually composed by the Brumbeats singer Buddy Ash (Graham Ashford) who wrote the lyrics with the music composed by Graham Gallery and Roger Hill. This record was produced by Mike Leander who had recently made hit records with another Brum band The Applejacks. He would later work with The Fortunes and The Montanas before going on to have much success with Gary Glitter in the 1970s. The single's B-side was another up-beat recording titled 'Cry Little Girl, Cry'. Despite radio and TV appearances on shows like "Thank Your Lucky Stars" the Brumbeats 45 did not manage to become a national hit although it was popular throughout the West Midlands and sold-out in many Birmingham record shops. "The Merseyboys" The band's profile also increased when a local newspaper at the time published a story with the headline; "It could be a really fab Feb. for the Brum Beats". The paper went on to say; "They are all good musicians - quite a rarity among modern beat groups - and Decca are considering using them as session men." As well as providing support for visiting acts, The Brumbeats had performed on the same bill as The Beatles whenever they played in the Birmingham area. The Brumbeats similarity in their sound to The Beatles was not lost on Decca as they were soon involved in a recording project resulting in the release of a now-rare 15-track album of Beatles songs as performed by "The Merseyboys" who were really The Brumbeats under a different name. While most Beatles fans would not be fooled by these recordings, the LP stands as a tribute to The Brumbeats as talented musicians and in particular guitarist Roger Hill who brilliantly duplicates both George and John's parts simultaneously as he probably usually did on stage! This album was also issued in the U.S.A. on the famous Vee-Jay Records label - one of the first American labels to promote records by The Beatles. Despite making other recordings for Decca, the Brumbeats unfortunately disbanded in early 1965 when Graham Ashford left to go solo before further records could be released. The group later re-formed for a short time with new members Robbie Harper and Alan Buxton replacing Roger Hill and Bugsy Eastwood. Graham Gallery briefly joined the Rockin' Berries and later became a member of "The Midland Light Orchestra". He also worked with the famous Move and Wizzard performer Roy Wood during the 1970s. Graham died in the 1980s at only 35 years of age. Roger Hill went on to other Birmingham bands including The Uglys and later re-uniting with former Brumbeats drummer Alan Eastwood when they formed the pop/rock group The Exception. Roger enjoyed a successful career as a jazz guitarist until he passed away in 2011 (see Roger Hill). Sadly, Alan "Bugsy" Eastwood also passed away in 2007. Buddy Ash (Graham Ashford) went on to form his own new group in 1965 that was named "The Bobby Ash Sound". Graham later moved to Hawaii and now lives in California where he still continues to perform and write songs. Saxophonist Paul Carter was recently discovered in South Africa where he still lives today.

His career as musician started in 1987 with a musical project called “The Wendish Childrens Of Lucifers Wife” Peace. In 1988 he joined the east-german punk-band “Raving Madness” - after the split he founded in 1989 the straight left and political oriented band “Nachkriegsjugend” - with Tom Gruschwitz (voc) and Olaf Dettinger (g). In late 1989 he started from scratch with the pure experimental band “M”. “M” transformed into a bass-guitar band (3 basses and a drum (computer)) influenced by Velvet Underground, Dinosaur. Jr. and Spacemen 3 and split in summer 1991 after hours of tape recordings and live performances. After this the Reverend founded with the former singer of “Nachkriegsjugend” the band “Riefenstahl”. “Riefenstahl did three releases “Lufthansa”, “Wieland Förster Lieder” and “Riefenstahl III” and extended their activites to an artist group who produced a series of short films, video-installations and books. The 4th release, of a number of “Vogelweide” songs, was never published (two titles appeared as remix in 2006 on Reverend Benn Schippers privatelektro “Pnet 006” release “[album]Dance Music For Shitheads With The YY-Chromosome[/album]”). Schipper joined in 1993 the berlin based “Column One” for some live performances, releases and artworks (“Vis Spei” with Genesis P-Orridge, “The Excellent Listeners” and the soundtrack “Der Unterstand”). In 1995 he renamed “Riefenstahl” into “Call Ov Stihl”. Under a new name he started in 1995 with german media-artist and Privatelektro label-mate “Igor Hax” the band “” - after the split Schipper focused only on media arts and produced in 1997 with Tilman Schmidt the piece “Dust Bin” for the international awarded multi-media CD-ROM “Dust-D-Bugger”. will be continued…

Search | Add | 3 | The Val-Aires | Members: Bill Burkette (Lead Baritone) Don Miller (Baritone) Hugh Geyer (First Tenor) Chuck Blasko (Second Tenor) Neil Foster The story began in 1958 at Turtle Creek High School. There were at least four different vocal harmony groups in school, whose members would sing at assemblies or on the street corner. Two groups joined forces - three fellows came from one group, two fellows from the other group. From one group came Burkette, first tenor Hugh Geyer and bass vocal Don Miller. The other group consisted of second tenor Chuck Blasko and another vocalist, Neil Foster. After rehearsing and getting their vocal harmonies to meld properly, they named themselves the Val-Aires and impressed a local producer, Elmer Willett, who later became their manager. Willett produced the Val-Aires' first release, "Which One Will It Be / Laurie My Love" (Willett 114), and it sold enough copies in Allegheny County that in Coral Records picked it up for national distribution (Coral 62177). 'Which One Will It Be' was just a regional hit, but The Val-Aires then picked up a supporter when the top rock and roll DJ in Pittsburgh, Porky Chedwick, added the group to the rock and roll shows and record hops that his station promoted. After high school, a couple of the guys got drafted and went into the service, then came out of the service and we got back together again. they did shows with the Drifters, the Platters, the Dells, groups like that when they came into town. Before the Val-Aires could have another hit, Hugh Geyer and Don Miller joined the Army, while the other band members went to college or found jobs in the factories surrounding Turtle Creek. A few years later, the five friends decided to record again. Bill Burkette, Don Miller, Hugh Geyer and Chuck Blasko became the Vogues.
