Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Terrashima | Terrashima were formed in Derby in 2000 from the ashes of Psychotic Reaction, a 60s psychedelic / garage-influenced band more famous for their clothing than their music. [a=Ryan DelGaudio] guitar) and Mike Cross (bass) left Psychotic Reaction to form Terrashima along with Mark Ibbotson (vocals) and Andy (drums), the latter of whom left in 2001 to pursue a career in business, and was replaced by Dan Montague. The band were named after the MC5's recording studio, and were inspired by the likes of that band, Jesus Lizard, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth and Scratch Acid. They were famous for the manic and chaotic nature of their live shows. After Terrashima Ryan, Mike and Dan went on to form [a=The Swarm (4)] along with [a=Callum Thompson] (vocals), Olly Toogood (noises & black boxes) and Scott Sandham (visuals and projections).

Kolhapur Cinetone | The Kolhapur Cinetone | The Kolhapur Cinetone was established by the Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur in response to the Prabhat Film Company moving to Pune from Kolhapur in 1933. Shahu Maharaj intended to maintain the status of Kolhapur as the Hollywood of Marathi cinema. Reputedly, Baburao Painter and Bhalji Pendharkar were drawn away from Prabhat Film back to Kolhapur with appropriate blandishments, as was Master Vinayak. The notable films produced by the company were Bhalji Pendharkar’s mythological ‘Akashwani’ (1934) and the debut feature of Master Vinayak ‘Vilasi Ishwar’ (1935). Among the last highlights of the studio before its closure in 1938 was D.G. Phalke’s only sound film ‘Gangavataram’ (1937). |

Search | Add | 2 | Viciouz | Viciouz is a modified version of the word vicious. His style in music is just like the meaning of the word: violent, brutal, ruthless... hard and rough kicks combined with mean snares with a big range in BPM - this is what you can expect in his sets. He started his career new years eve 2017/18 with his first public gig at New Year Damage in Hamburg. A first international event followed shortly through an invitation by a befriended DJ which made him present his style in the Netherlands. His first year went pretty good with some decent gigs. He played at well-known events like Day of Destruction, Pokke Herrie, The Raw District and Pumpkin Germany. Since then he was able to present his perception of Industrial Hardcore all over Germany and infect a lot of people with this music. His main goal is not only to satisfy the industrial hardcore die hards but also gather new fans for the darkest and roughest kind of hardcore. It does not matter if it's a small sidefloor or a huge mainstage - Viciouz always delivers high energy sets which convince the crowd regarding the brutality of his music and his mixing skills as well. Through his dedication to Industrial Hardcore and the will to give something more to the scene than just DJing, he also started to produce music. His first release, the collaboration “Prypjat” with his befriended duo Brainrape, was released in summer 2018 on Terror Machine Records. After focusing on his university he is now back producing and will release his first EPs in mid 2020. Since he signed at PH Booking in October 2019, he is a member of this agency which will handle his bookings.

Search | Add | 2 | The Music Buddies | Erik: bass guitar TJ: guitar, vocals Derek: drums Taken from their release page: "Nobody can remember the exact origin but we think the band name came from a relative of Erik’s, who said it as a quaint diminutive as he left for practice with a previous band—“Oh, are you off to practice with your music buddies?” The three of us (Erik, TJ, and I) were living in a group house in Kalamazoo, between bands and dutifully enrolled at the local college, when he shared that anecdote. Guffaws were had. When we learned that TJ had a notebook full of lyrics devoted to how various scenesters had done him right and/or very wrong, it seemed a bygone conclusion: we had a name, we had a unified purpose, we had instruments and a basement and post-adolescent malaise and thus, we had a band. The Music Buddies was born. We were around from late fall of 1996 into the spring of 1997. We practiced a handful of times, usually late evening affairs that felt a lot like I’d imagine my dad’s Thursday night bowling league felt. We maybe played two shows—one a vegan potluck, the other at the legendary Comet Cafe. Somehow we were the subject of an intense, one-sided label bidding war that cooled only because we wouldn’t cede to Charles’ demands that we change our name to “Bacne.” We also recorded a demo with Ian, which he kindly helped us to mix in preparation for the either digital or lathe cut version you might be listening to right now."

Search | Add | 2 | GANGWAY INVASION | Reeno & JLA | Reeno & Jon LaChance met in NYC and decided to work on some songs together, with JLA writing all lyrics and performing all lead vocals, & Reeno & JLA working in tandem on Drum Programming, Synths, Sound Design, & Background Vocals. Those songs resulted in their debut album released in 2010, "Coming to your Station". The album could be best described as Funk-Driven Nerdcore rap.... 2012's follow-up, "Sunrise/Sunset" displayed a slightly more refined approach and was recorded bi-coastally, with Reeno still in NYC, and JLA having relocated to San Franciso, CA. |

Search | Add | 2 | Fielding Dawson | Fielding Dawson (August 2, 1930 – January 5, 2002) was a Beat-era author of short stories and novels, and a student at Black Mountain College. He was also a painter and collagist whose works were seen in several books of poetry and many literary magazines. Born in New York City, Dawson was known for his stream-of-consciousness style. Much of his work was lax in punctuation to emphasize the immediacy of thought. Additionally, dialogue would often be used to break this up. His lack of deference toward tradition in writing, other than that of the necessity to evoke humanity, often painfully raw, is what puts him in the category of many of his better-known contemporaries, such as Jack Kerouac or Allen Ginsberg. Dawson was still writing up until his unexpected death in January 2002. He had become a teacher, first in prisons like Sing Sing, at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, where he taught regularly, and continuing on to work with at-risk students at Upward Bound High School in Hartwick, New York. He was recently called "The Best St. Louis Writer You've Never Read" by David Clewell, a professor of history at Webster University.

A disciple of the renowned Ustad Aashish Khan, he received the President’s Gold Medal Award in 2008 and was nominated for a Global Indian Music Award in 2012. He is a proponent of Indian classical techniques and wishes to share them, both to ensure their continuation and to breathe new life into them. To that end, he teaches music classes in his home and spreads his knowledge to a new generation of younger musicians, while also composing and arranging regional folk songs himself. But far from limiting himself to folk and classical idioms, Debanjan is an avid and experienced collaborator and has participated in musical exchanges with artists ranging from Azerbaijan to Germany, and beyond. |
