Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Walter Dlamini | Walter Dlamini was a singer whose repertoire, the veteran DJ Max Mojapelo suggests, was somewhere in between Jacob “Mpharanyana” Radebe and The Movers’ Philip Malela. Walter’s soulful singing oozes charm and sensitivity, and it glides across the melodies of the other musicians with incredible ease. A native of Wattville, a township close to the city of Benoni, Walter had joined the music industry somewhere in the mid-1970s and began recording material for the Fire label. His music formed a part of the quiet move from what might be termed “traditional mbaqanga” to the more organ-led, American soul-infused sound of the late 1970s. It was a sound that had its roots within mbaqanga music, but one that closely aligned itself more with Afro wigs, flares and platform shoes than skins and tribal costume. When Walter came to Gallo-Mavuthela in 1978, the sound was being replicated there already by producers West Nkosi and Marks Mankwane and groomed to replace the traditional mbaqanga sound that the company itself had popularised more than a decade previously.

Search | Add | 2 | Infinite Vision | Industrial project active in the Chicago area from 1997 to 1998. Infinite Vision created songs that would challenge the listener to define what genre the band wanted to be. Drawing on a wide range of influences that each member had, Infinite Vision added elements of industrial, jazz, rock, techno, punk, and countess other styles to their music. First album was released on cassette. Second album was released on CD. After disbanding in 1998, select members of the band went on to work with each other in other projects and endeavors. In 2011, Chris remastered all of the songs, created several new remixes of select songs, and even manipulated unused material to create a new song.

Search | Add | 2 | Macedonian Early Music Band | The Macedonian Early Music Band played traditional instruments from the Yugoslav part of Macedonia. On this album LP GB1978 they are featured playing together as a folk band: Macedonian bagpipes (Gaida), Shepherds flute (Kaval), Long necked lute (Tambura), Double headed drum (Tapan). The musicians were keen to do something to stop these traditional instruments from dying out to more modern musical instruments. They played for and danced in the Zivko Firfov folk dance group based in London UK and altogether appeared at the Ilinden Festival in Bitola, Macedonia, Yugoslavia 1978. Playing the even and amazing odd time rhythms still surviving in the Balkans, this album was released in November 1979 reaching No. 8 in the Melody Maker Folk Albums Charts. The lively playing and the fascinating rhythms was a breakthrough album, as the only other bagpipes known then were Scottish and the highly popular Irish that dominated the UK folk album charts.

Search | Add | 2 | Brothers Egg | Brothers Egg formed in 2015 in Wilmington, NC when brothers [a=Jamie Eggleston] and [a=Hunter Eggleston] teamed-up with [a=Suzanna Crist] to forge a vibrant, individual sound from their wide range of instruments and musical influences. Their music reflects an eclectic and driving blend of Roots Rock, Bluegrass, Country and World Music. Brothers Egg hatched after James spent time living in South Africa, where he honed his ear for African rhythms and melodies while traveling and surfing around the country. In the meantime, Hunter thru-hiked, solo the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail where he gained a newfound appreciation for American roots music and Appalachian bluegrass. The brothers returned home with new song ideas and a fresh approach to songwriting. Suzanna Crist was discovered by James at an open mic night at Grinders Café in Wilmington, NC. Upon hearing her sing and play, James decided to play some of his own songs and asked Suzanna if she would sit in on violin. A strong musical connection was felt, and a positive reaction from the room followed. Weekly jam sessions ensued and Suzi eventually accepted the brothers invitation to join the band. Contributing tasteful fiddle hooks and harmonies, Suzanna brings a unique musical element to the Brothers Egg. James and Hunter's father, [a=David Eggleston] played drums and recorded with some infamous R&B and rock bands out of Richmond, VA in the 1980’s and now frequently joins his kids on stage behind the drum kit. [a=Jimmy Thompson (8)] was spotted in Raleigh, NC while playing bass with the alt. country outfit the [a=Debonzo Brothers]. James took note of his tasteful playing, and when the band relocated to Raleigh, Jimmy was asked to join. A veteran of the Raleigh music scene, Jimmy's playing is unassuming yet packs with a punch.

Search | Add | 2 | Alas The Sun | Anja and Sandro got to know each other via an internet ad back in January 2017. What started out as a musical romance eventually became ‘Alas The Sun’. Songs wrote themselves, piling up on their bedroom floors. The duo moves between indie-folk and dream-pop. At times broad and spherical, at times intimate and quiet, softly plucked guitars sit beside drums and a synthesizer. A balancing act that the band masters effortlessly. What unites each of the songs are the haunting harmonies, delicate melodies and choruses that get stuck in your head. ‘Alas The Sun’ released their debut album ‘You And Your Love’ in the fall of 2019.

Search | Add | 2 | Ragged Soul | Ragged Soul got together around the year 2000 in Vigo. The band started basically as an excuse to gather at weekends, play hard and drink even harder, which they accomplished real soon! At first they used to play covers of Punk & Rock’n’Roll bands they loved, from Devil Dogs to early AC/DC, but more and more their goal was to get in their own songs. Ragged Soul always revolved around Jose (guitar, vocals & songs) and Miguel (bass, backing vocals & low-life). In the couple of years or so they lasted there were at least three drummers and two or three guitar players, some of whom were gone before you could say “tough shit”! The story of the band ain’t one of easy success, happy-go-lucky girls and pink champagne, just about the opposite actually: they’d only been going for a few weeks when Miguel -pissed out of his head on a Saturday night- suffered a double fracture in a leg. As a consequence, he literally vanished without trace for some 6 months… An auspicious start, some may say. Once they got started again, they were ready to play wherever they possibly could, mostly real shitholes in exchange for booze and -only sometimes- a little bit of money and a sandwich. They couldn’t care less, as they were having the time of their lives, even though most of the audience in little villages and so couldn’t really make out what the band was all about. One example was a gig in a shack turned into a pub in the middle of nowhere, at which the attending crowd was mostly metal-heads. Seeing that the band was getting no reaction whatsoever and people just stood there motionless, Jose responded to that by cursing and flinging abuse at them. What could have been an impending disaster turned into a big party with the boys playing for over two hours and a growing number of free drinks gathering on the stage! In fact that gig got them another one in a big rock festival in the area. Another amusing moment involved a band member being chased into the toilet by a rather amicable girl after a gig, while her boyfriend was cheerfully talking to the others at the bar. Not long after that, there was an incident following another concert, which involved one in the band having a fight at a local disco and then driving his car through the front door of a village house on the way back home… Wild times indeed! It was at the end of 2002 when they entered the studio to record their one and only demo, the recordings you’re now holding in glorious vinyl nearly 15 years later: four songs about breaking up, breaking down and breaking through, if you know what I mean… Even though the resulting demo-CD was very poorly distributed, it did get them a few more gigs, the most memorable being the one the late Kike Turmix -of the infamous Pleasure Fuckers fame- got them opening for the great Wayne Kramer (guitar slinger with the legendary MC5). They struggled on for a while, changing drummers just one more time and even the band-name for one off-gig in their hometown, but that was it really. In the end, Ragged Soul would mutate into The Fishfuckers, who eventually moved on to greener pastures, but that’s another story, a story that must be told somewhere else… JOSE (FEBRUARY 2016)

We still have to figure that out, but at least we get to play in a band which is cool. What we like to do is just play together, chill for a bit and then play some more. What usually results is a sound that wants to hug you only to punch you in the back of the neck afterwards.

Discoveri, hailing from the United States, consists of two musical geniuses that joined forces in early 2004. Together, they started by crafting many different types of electronic music from down tempo to slamming break beats and house, finally settling on a fusion of sounds with a house backbone. It is hard to pinpoint their signature sound since they pull from so many different styles and influences. Their music is something that needs to be heard live to be appreciated.
