Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Peel MD | "Swedish duo PEEL MD was formed in 2008 after Tomrum finally managed to persuade A. Stantz that they should jam together. The core of their sound is driving drums, 303's (there's something particular about them), noise-free midi, lots of fx and a dub approach to the often cheap mixer desk. Since their 2012 debut "Grip EP" on Börft Records (which blew the ears off the Swedish underground with its 120bpm dirty and wobbly psychotic acid techno) the releases have kept coming. The foundations of their music lie back in the early 90's; they both grew up on the countryside outside the town Örebro, both were dreamers and were pretty much alone to be into house and techno, plus they both had older brothers that where into synth music. This shared background led to a friendship that later evolved into PEEL MD. They quickly discovered they worked good together and while Tomrum was an awkwardly-obsessive sound junkie, A. Stantz had a feel for how to mould their acid explorations into something danceable with a beginning, middle and an end. They also discovered they both had a slight hearing impairment but luckily in different ears, so together they would still be able to hear in stereo. Sometimes the sum of two takes it all to another level, and PEEL MD, one of Sweden’s best kept underground secrets, is a great example of this!" Joakim Cosmo - DJ/Artist (Börft Records, Spazio Records)

With drummer Jong Dae Oh in Seoul, Matt has played countless gigs in venues with the top musicians on the scene. In Shanghai Matt teams up with saxophonist Alec Haavik. With some US dates scheduled for the end of 2019, Panayides will record his third album, set to be released in 2020. His previous group featured a long-standing partnership with Rich Perry on tenor sax which led to the creation of two albums “Conduits” (2015) with Rich Perry, Mark Ferber and Thomson Kneeland, and “Tapestries of Song” (2011) with Rich Perry, Steve LaSpina and Dan Weiss. Both albums were released on the label Pacific Coast Jazz to much acclaim and feature Panayides’ compositions.

Search | Add | 4 | Lennie Miles | Vocalist Lenny Miles, born in Forth Worth, Texas on December 22, 1934, is one of those One-Hit Wonders who, once you hear his Sam Cooke-quality vocals, you just know would have gone on to greater things had cancer not claimed him in 1962 at age 27. The hit was Don’t Believe Him, Donna, written by Luther Dixon who also arranged and conducted the orchestra backing, and in March 1961 it peaked at # 28 R&B and just missed the Billboard Pop Hot 100 Top 40 when it stalled at # 41 as Scepter 1212 b/w Invisible, also penned by Dixon. In fact, Luther wrote/co-wrote all 4 sides of Lenny’s two releases at Scepter, the other being In Between Tears b/w I Know Love as Scepter 1218, released in April. Strangely, the uptempo In Between Tears stalled at # 84 Hot 100 in May 1961 and made no impact at all on the R &B listings. Even so, the giant RCA Victor saw (and heard) enough to realize his potential with the right material and promotion and brought him on board in 1962, cutting at least 6 sides at his first studio session. starting with the powerful Living Dream, produced by Ray Ellis and backed by his orchestra and chorus. That was paired with Donna’s Gone as RCA Victor 47-8011 and released in March. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer even as the song began to get some attention and in the end it did not chart nationally. RCA Victor then released the other 4 sides he had cut on their Groove subsidiary, changing the spelling of his first name to “Lennie” - starting with the pairing of Hercules b/w Stay With Me (Groove 58-0001) in July, and I Wouldn’t Be Here b/w Mind Your Own Biz (Groove 58-0010) in August (extracted from Amazon Reviewer - George O'Leary - comments section)

Search | Add | 4 | SeeMoreGlass | N. Patrick Phile | SeeMoreGlass began in the trunk of a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the fall of 2007 after the malaise of real life set in. N. Patrick Phile, the main artist behind the project, played in the band Dear Holden from 2004-2010, and as the band was winding down, the side project took full priority. Taking the name from a J.D. Salinger character, the project quickly became about self discovery and empowerment after years of difficult relationships. The E.P. "If You Really Want To Hear About It..." was recorded in the basement of a close friend's house on a winter weekend and was released to no acclaim in the fall of 2010 amidst the turmoil of many endings and beginnings. After a seven year hiatus, the high school English teacher revived the project during the weekly midnight hours as a means of survival. Graveyard Gertie was released in 2017 as a way to deal with the overwhelming grief of multiple friends and family members who passed away. After that release, he spent the next four years, teaching, writing poetry and working endlessly on the songs that would become the new album Roaring Paper Spring. He currently lives in Ohio, with his wife, and creative partner Rachel. |
