Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 3 | The New Lightweights | When Ariel Posen, Alexa Dirks and Ryan Voth first formed The New Lightweights in early 2008, it was a way for three long-time friends to get together and make music they enjoyed. They began writing together, and in 2009 they released an EP of all original material that received critical acclaim and heavy CBC rotation. The sum of all their parts creates a sound that is soulful and fresh with Dirks' siren voice, Ariel's melodic guitar playing and Ryan's dynamic and precise drumming at the forefront. They bring together their love and knowledge of folk, pop and soul music and turn it into something captivating for the ears and the heart. The New Lightweights is music that speaks of love, loss and what keeps us all together. | |

| Search | Add | 3 | Grete Lienert-Zultner | From Scola, Ortrun; Schiel, Annemarie: Transylvanian-Saxon female figures. Her life and work, Edited by the Country Team of the Transylvanian Saxons in Germany eV The father was a school principal and Ecclesiastes - he led the church choir and the Adjuvantenkapelle - the mother of a first trained with Adele Zay kindergarten teachers. Grete's wish was from childhood to become a teacher. She attended public school in Sibiu, where Minka Bruckner was their revered teacher, then the teacher-training college in Sighisoara. She was a popular, efficient and sangesfreudige student. Here they not only discovered her love for music but also for populist poetry of Anna Schuller Schullerus. In that time already developed the first experiments with dialect poetry, supported and promoted by the seminar director, Dr. Heinz Brandsch. After their completion in 1925 it was only a short time teacher, as they already in 1926 married the notary Michael Lienert and the then regional church provisions of married teachers were not allowed to continue teaching. This injunction was lifted only in 1937. But in addition to her family - she had two sons and a daughter - she served in the Women's Association, gave lectures and recitals together with Anna Schuller Schullerus, Luise Help leg and Gerda Miess-Lipponen. When singing with children and young people always created new songs, mostly in the Saxon dialect. Inspired by the folk tales of Anna Schuller Schullerus, Grete Lienert himself wrote plays and directed them also. Her most famous among them are: "Äm your uch Gläck" (To honor and happiness), "Bäm Brännchen" (The little spring), "Farmer Liesel" and "hu Fosnicht mer" (Shrove we have). All pieces are elegant, rich "folk poetry", characterized by simplicity and earthiness true (H. Mieskes). The profession of the husband as a civil servant brought frequent change of location with himself and opened up Grete Lienerts work always new circles of life and people who encouraged her art and encouraged: Schuster Dutz, Hans Mild - with which they brought out the later award-winning song "Ta Drimer" - Carl Reich Elder., Lena Kraus, Serious Irtel and Christine Maly part uva After 1937 taught Grete Lienert again, collecting in 26 years of teaching activity in Netus, Neustadt, because village Schaas and other places further knowledge to the Saxon folk song. It originated their songs in folk style: "De asters blähn Insem äm garden", "The Owend kit to chan". They are among the best known and sung as folk songs in Germany and America. Their dramatic poem "The burned Maid", a historical fabric of the Saxon past, was awarded a prize. In the dark years after the Second World War, the family Lienert suffered the fate of many compatriots: The husband was deported to Russia as a German, later came back as a patient, the family had to suffer expropriation, prohibition and difficult training of their children. During this time, Grete Lienert founded a folk song-singing group who also sang a record with 14 Lienert songs, and also an amateur game group that toured the Saxon villages with their stage and radio plays, and the country people brought encouragement and refreshment in their hard life . From 1963 the family lived in Sighisoara, where Grete a welcome fellow in the neighborhood, the church choir and literature circle was. From the singing group, a chamber choir which still exists today. In 1978 the family moved to West Germany and now lives in Traunreut. Again, Grete Lienert soon became a center of Music and Dramatic as a cultural consultant and helped the country team in the establishment of a Transylvanian choir with. Her songs are sung by all Transylvanian choirs, especially by the excellent "by Samuel Madrigal Choir Cantores Brukenthal Cibiniensis". In Germany two songbooks and tapes published two poetry. From restless creative tätigem Grete Lienert was called away unexpectedly on 1.4.1989. | |

| Search | Add | 3 | Hypnogator | Hypnogator's prog rock inspired rhythms and structures seated in a foundation of hard and classic rock stylings offers a surprising, but oddly familiar crunchy atmosphere. "Relf Kent's guitar lines are rooted in an eclectic fusion of jazz and classic rock with tones fat enough to make you think there are 3 guitarists. Jonathan and Liam in the rhythm section on bass and drums respectively have been playing together since they were kids giving them a seemingly supernatural intuition for each other's timing and texture - opening up a world of progressive rhythms as it were 4/4 child's play. George's vocals are inspired by the likes of Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, leading to an angry, rhythmic and often times ghostly leading line, bleating anti-government and anti-modern rhetoric." - Quoted directly from Satan himself. | |

| Search | Add | 3 | Blackwall Hitch | Hardcore band from Milwaukee/West Bend, WI. Active in the early 2000's. Band members include: Vocals: Jeff Winkowski Guitar: Andy Freeburg Bass: Trevor Broskowski Drums: Eric Gorecki Vocals (post 7"): [a2482688] Blackwall Hitch was a hardcore band started by Andy Freeburg and myself (Jeff Winkowski) shortly after 9/11, while I was putting the finishing touches on “What Do we have to do” (A Violent Femmes Tribute), and folding my music magazine, Actionman. Andy and I were really longing to get back into a primal hardcore band and be very serious about the production of the records and prolific in our frequency of playing out. We also were keenly aware of the sound we wanted, now in our mid twenties. The move at the time was the Cave-In faux prog. stuff which I liked but it did not fit the urgency of the music we were trying to manifest. Thus, we auditioned a handful of technically proficient drummers and bass players and wished them well. Enter two kids: Eric Gorecki and Trevor “snake” Broskowski. They were younger than us and just as no frills, yet had the chops to play fast and hard and the desire to practice religiously. Trevor gave us the name of our band and of our seven inch ( “Milwaukee Burning”) and Eric gave us four takes for four songs in our recording session, no mistakes after doing thirteen shows with us in just a two months. We recorded on 1/4 inch tape at Eugene III’s studio ( The Etiquette). We were all really pleased with the grit and the quality at once that both the tape and Eugene’s supervision provided. The night we did the back up vocals we invited a youth crew. Jeremy Ampe and the Laval Blessing guys were in attendance as were some really young punk rockers who were hanging out on Brady Street. Lighting started striking nearby and the tape machine began to hiss. The equipment was not easy to replace nor was it cheap. We called it a night and did the backups the next day by ourselves. The record turned out great and after two seasons more of shows I moved to Chicago. I gave my blessing on our buddy Dan from [a6148530] (Thrash and Burn) to take over on vocals. We were all friends. | |

Stamps Quartet) of Dallas. In 1940, V.O. Stamps, president of Stamps-Baxter, sent Foshee to manage and sing bass in the Stamps-Baxter Melody Boys (aka Stamps Melody Boys) in Arkansas. Well known pianist , songwriter, and arranger Joe Roper was also in the group. Foshee left the Melody Boys to serve in the US Army during WW2 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. After the war, he became the manager and bass singer of a group called Herschel Foshee and his Stamps-Baxter Quartet. Joe Roper joined him in the new group. They began in Mississippi in 1946, but they soon moved to Illinois before moving back to Arkansas in 1948. There Foshee organized an additional group called the Herschel Foshee Junior Quartet. On November 16, 1949, Herschel Foshee died from heart disease at the age of 38. The remaining Herschel Foshee Stamps-Baxter Quartet members continued on with Smilin’ Joe Roper in charge and soon reclaimed the pre-war name, the Melody Boys. Gerald Williams, who had been the bass for the Foshee Junior Quartet became the bass singer for the Melody Boys and would go on to much success as the manager of the Melody Boys, continuing Foshee’s legacy for many years. |

| Search | Add | 3 | The Gongs | From 2002 bio: The Gongs on themselves We formed in early September of 2001. We started off playing musical games using a trio of three lutes called "guys" and recorded the singles "you think i'm a terris", and "i smell..." When we found our first set of steel gongs near the train tracks, they taught us how to imitate the sounds that animals hear, as can be heard in "the bat", and "an old man talks to his dog". Now we always play with our set of amplified gongs. Originally, we were a threesome, Pete, Clara, and Stefan. When he heard us one night, Grisha became attracted to the sound of the gongs' microtones and drones, which he describes in "Evergreens [in Darkest Night]". He became the Gongs' fourth member, playing reeds (a retuned harmonium) and chucky (a super-long electric sliding stringed instrument). He discovered some splendid new techniques for playing the Chucky, such as "creating a cast relationship w/ the stratosphere", and others you can hear on our website. From the beginning, we had been in contact with "th' Man w/ the Red Steam"; we sang a few songs about him and soon realized we needed a better tool to communicate with. In January, we built this out of a collection of electronic rhythm circuits. Ever since then "th'Man w/the Red Steam" (or more correctly, "th'monument to th'Man with the Red Steam") has been helping to complete our sound. Back in October, (hal'ween to be exact) the gongs made first contact with artist/composer/producer/???, Momus, and began work on a cd for release on his label American Patchwork. We also just finished a little 45 rpm record, with 2-step, 5-step, and 7-step dances on it. Both the cd and the record will be with us on tour this summer, so come check us out. | |

Drawing on the powerviolence sound forged by band such as Nails, Rotten Sound, Magrudergrind, Weekend Nachos and Sect as well as the Swedish death metal sound, especially the classic “Boss HM2” tone popularized by Entombed, Dismember, Grave and At The Gates, they top it off by adding a bit of Crust Punk and Black metal to the mix resulting in their latest EP, Falsehood, released in 2018. For us, hardcore music is a safe space for everyone who suffers, in any way, of marginalization. |

| Search | Add | 3 | Electrotom | Electrotom is Simon Gag and Toby, both from Sweden. Electrotom came about in 1995-96… after about a year of production, the first release hit the unsuspecting world. Electrotom’s “Love Camp Electro” EP was released on Candy Cane Exploitations in 1997. The sound was metallic, twisted, evil and organic at the same time, always with erotic undertones… more vinyl was to follow with that distinct Electrotom sound… Electrotom took a break after the Swedish Erotica release from 1999, they had left their original sound on this release, giving room for a more polished release. Feeling that they had compromised their originality they decided to take a break from music production for a while… this was in the year 2000… Now they’re back and are working intensely on a new album, a 12″ is about to surface on the Candy Cane Exploitations label… this will uncompromisingly be in true Electrotom style… we’re back with a vengeance… | |

They play original folkloric music, which takes its time and movement from the houses of prayer and the gospel, the trumpets of the saints, Chinese calligraphy, and as well as from the never-ending enchantment of the earth - grass, sea, rock, lightning, thunder, and morning stars. The band performs the compositions and songs of Nitay Kelly, the lead singer of the band. The songs are hymns, lamentations, and prayers to the mystery that may help carry the wounded to this miracle. |

| Search | Add | 3 | Denzil Naar | Denzil Naar | Famous Jamaican illustrator of posters for Dancehall events. His artwork can also be found on various Reggae album covers. Born: 1947 Died: July 2022 From reggaealbumcovers.com: Denzil “Sassafras” Naar is a legend in Dancehall history, who basically defined the way that dancehall events were marketed and promoted. Just like Wilfred Limonious pretty much defined the look and feel of 80s dancehall and reggae record sleeves, it was Sassafras who set the style and standard of the posters promoting dancehall events and sound systems. His work was so distinctive and ubiquitous in the 80s dancehall scene that the language and slang he often employed on his posters became adopted in the dancehalls and by Sound Systems. Denzil “Sassafras” Naar was born in 1947 and was nicknamed after a popular racehorse that used to run at Caymanas Park, Jamaica’s only racecourse, due to his love for horse-racing He started his career in design in 1975 when he started illustrating and creating hand-drawn posters to publicize the latest events, parties, and sound system clashes, for local promoters. He stumbled into poster design as a career when a friend asked Sassafras to design a poster for a dance he was holding, and Sassafras came up with a design that was unlike any others that were currently being made to promote events. His kinetic design style, distinctive lettering, and use of street slang was an instant hit and he quickly established himself as Jamaica’s premier designer for promoters and Sound Systems. At his peak, Sassafras has said that he was working 18 hours days and churning out 15 posters each week. His posters were soon seen all over the island, and his vast body of work is basically now serves as a catalog of artists, sound systems, and events that defined reggae and dancehall music through the 80s – each hand-drawn Sassafras poster was packed with information. The popularity of his posters soon earned him another nickname ‘The People’s Promoter’. Even if you have never heard of Sassafras, but have a working interest in reggae and dancehall music, then you will have seen his style, or at least seen other works that have been heavily influenced by the Sassafras. Sassafras has left his visual signature permanently on reggae and dancehall music. |

Alex Nahas’ verse boldly chooses to sit “between the meager and the mundane” elevating the everyday. He generates a broad sonic palette on the rarely seen Chapman Stick conjuring up a filmic landscape. Bright Brown's music evades categorization under the awning of any one single genre, but there’s the unmistakable common thread of a seasoned songwriter with a flair for mood, texture and atmosphere. Thoughtful and reflective with a knack for rendering outside-world concerns in the landscape of the personal, Nahas continues to venture into new frontiers, casting the Stick in a fresh light as a songwriter’s instrument with each successive song. |
