Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 21 | Nick Kohut | Nicholas Lee James Kohut | Nick Kohut's first engagement with music was with personal friend Andrew Clark in mid-2005. The two formed a duo called A.N.T. (Andrew Nick Techno) in which Andrew played piano and guitar and Nick played drums. The two recorded through 2006 and completed two albums, "The Bedroom Sessions" and "Eraser." Over the next few years, their creation of new music thinned out until Andrew Nick Techno was no more. Eventually, Nick joined Dan Espie and Matt Conway in forming the group Project 3.1 and writing many songs. After three years together and several additional members, Project 3.1 dispersed. Nick began recording music on his own, playing drums and then dubbing guitar or even vocals over. Most of his work was rock and soundtrack-related. In late 2009, he began creating electronic music under his long-lived nickname "JudoJoe" and is currently recording music both as "Nick Kohut" as well as "JudoJoe." In January of 2010, Nick reunited with old friend Andrew Clark to start a rock trio with Josh F. Saitta. They came up with a three-song set entitled "Who We Are" to be their first official release and eventually chose the name Blind Children. |

Search | Add | 21 | Micheál Mac Liammóir | Alfred Willmore | Micheál Mac Liammóir (25 October 1899 – 6 March 1978), born Alfred Willmore, was an English-born Irish actor, dramatist, impresario, writer, poet and painter. As Alfred Willmore, he was one of the leading child actors on the English stage, in the company of Noël Coward. He studied painting at London's Slade School of Art, continuing to paint throughout his lifetime. In the 1920s he travelled all over Europe. Willmore was captivated by Irish culture: he learnt Irish which he spoke and wrote fluently and he changed his name to an Irish version, presenting himself in Ireland as a descendant of Irish Catholics from Cork.[1] Later in his life, he wrote three autobiographies in Irish and translated them into English. Mac Liammóir wrote and performed a one-man show, The Importance of Being Oscar, based on the life and work of Oscar Wilde. The Telefís Éireann production won him a Jacob's Award in December 1964. It was later filmed by the BBC with Mac Liammóir reprising the role. |

Search | Add | 21 | Het Leedy Trio | The Leedy Trio appeared on stage since 1947. The Dutch amusement-trio originally existed of bassplayer and man of dry humour Ger Faber, Guitarist en comediant Bert Bibaz, with his powerful voice, which he could use in a crazy way but also as a serious singer, who were completed with pianist/composer John Möring, who left them in 1962 to go and work for Bovema (becoming the Dutch EMI). His place was taken by Tonny Dijkman, but after his passing away in november 1966 he was replaced in 1967 by Ad Veen. Ad used to be a slender man studying piano at the conservatory, but then he became a both very striking and voluminous showfigure, of which his performance of their success "Beestjes", also on Dutch T.V., very much testifies. Ger Faber was married to Conny Hollestelle, alias Conny Van den Bos, until he passed away in 1998. He also was a manager with recordcompany Basart Records International for which company the Leedy trio also recorded in those days on the Park and Vier Wieken labels.

Search | Add | 21 | Sam Maxion | Sam Maxion | Sam Maxion (born January 2, 1971), known also by Slammin’ Sam, DJ Slammin’ Sam or Slam, is a Filipino-American Dj, Remixer, Producer. During the height of the “West Coast Freestyle" music period (mid 1990s to 2000), he was referred to as the “Puff Daddy of West coast Freestyle”, reflective of his productions, remixes & original tracks which topped Billboard charts and radio air waves playlists. Growing up in Pittsburg, CA, took up piano playing at 12. He graduated from Pittsburg High School. Continued studies in recording arts & journalism at Los Medanos College and Diablo Valley College. Throughout his early teens, Maxion proceeded to refine his dj skills through various dj groups and performing at various events. Creating mixtapes for school friends and family members. These cassette mixtapes were highly structured productions, utilizing the “pause button” technique of editing. Compiling a “series” of mixtapes that are now remastered and available for download.[1] Maxion entered a “dj mix-off” held by San Francisco radio station, put together by then radio mixer Cameron Paul. His submission was chosen as number 2 among over 1500 entries. The actual recording of this on-air announcement and the mix is available. Soon after, Maxion, djed at several night clubs throughout the Bay Area, even though he wasn’t of age (under 21). Maxion continued to further expand on the music direction by constructing a home-based recording studio. Equipment included were: Emax II sampling keyboard, 4 track Tascam recorder, Alesis multitrack, to name a few. Early career Maxion interned at San Francisco radio station Wild 107 (now Wild 94.9) with Dj LuvCheez of the Mancow Morning Show. Host Mancow requested a production song utilizing the cartoon “Underdog”. Maxion obliged and put together a track incorporating samples taken from various videos. It was aired and the response was positive. Then-Program Director Rick Thomas heard the production and decided to give Maxion a chance as a “mixer” for the station. Thomas wanted Maxion to have a nickname. Several were used: sizzlin, smokin’. After some deliberating, “Slammin’” was the agreed name, thus began “Slammin’ Sam”. Maxion began putting together mixshows for all periods of the day including weekend slots. Transition to Producer/Mixer Maxion left radio to focus on the development of his company “Slammin’ Entertainment”. A full-fledge dj, recording studio & record label service. Teamed up with Galaxy Freestyle Records producer/songwriter Randy Taylor-Weber on the worldwide hit “In A Dream” (Maxion provide engineering as well as co-production input). The first successful original production project was the S Factor, with lead singer Sharyn Maceren. The single “Hard to Get” rose up the dance charts in the Bay Area and throughout the country. With the momentum build from the initial single, Maxion was in demand by several major labels for remix work (See discography for full listing). His remix of “Forget About Dre” was featured on “Hollywood Hamilton’s Top 30″, syndicated show in Los Angeles/New York. Maxion released several albums Throughout the production & remix work, Maxion continued djing at clubs and radio stations throughout the world. (see discography for full listings). Since Wild 107, his radio station stints includes KNUQ (Hawaii), KPTY (Phoenix), KSFM (Sacramento), & recently Wild 106 (San Luis Obispo). Current music career Maxion conducts weekly studio sessions providing remix and original production work, djs at various club events throughout the East Bay California area. In 2009, Maxion released “Excitor” mixtape, a collection of party tracks as well as original work such as “Aura” featuring Ladysage, “Take Control” feat. Venom, Charizma, & Ladysage. Maxion was featured in a Contra Costa Times article review of the DJ Hero video game. In 2012 will be releasing "Excitor 3" mixtape album. Maxion is involved in several endeavors outside of music. In 2009, founded TVEPN "The Virtual Entertainment Programming Network". Portal site that covers pop culture, music, gaming & entertainment. The site is home of "The Slam Show". Weekly online variety talk show presented on ustream & iTunes. Broadcast live every Monday night @ 8pm pst. Maxion hobbies include:Texas hold 'em Poker tournaments, fantasy football (In 2009, won 3 championships). Working out and running. (Yearly participant of the "Bay to Breakers" marathon in San Francisco). Die hard San Francisco 49er fan. RIP Ed "Doe" Maxion. |

Search | Add | 20 | The Interstellar Cementmixers | Experimental synthesizer duo from Nottingham, England, formed on August 11th 1987, by the ever present line up of Richard (Rich) Collins and Stephen (Dump) Martin. Late 1989 was a period of Lo-Fi straight to cassette experiments in chaos, followed by two years of slightly more organised and slightly less chaotic 4-track recordings, that led to a synth-ambient side project under the name Warped Dust to emerge. From 1993 - 1998 Interstellar Cementmixers still on cassette, produced several Warped Dust style albums. Some of these cassettes featured reviews in AUDION magazine and by Andy G at C&D Services, which led to sales figures doubling. Cell Block Z released in 1997 satisfied the early experimental leanings, which led to the final cassette album Catacomb Discord which released in 1998. 1999 was the start of the Interstellar Cementmixers transition to CD which led them to release another 5 albums. Accessibility to digital recording facilities in 2011 led them to release Submerged Reality, followed by a number of remastered albums from Auricle in 2017.

Search | Add | 20 | Accursed Years | A folky, melodic death/black metal band from Dorset, England. Providing a bleak, atmospheric, yet fist pumping style of metal influenced by a combination of the European folk, black and melodic death metal scene, and from the more sombre forms of metal from their native land. Accursed Years was formed in 2013 by Agnieszka "Annie" Bryniarska and Joseph Peers. They were later joined in 2014 by Jon Evans, and in 2015 by Rob Innell, Dan Reynolds, and Søren Willatzen. They take their name from the two thousand years of the first period of Sauron's rule over J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth in the latter part of the Second Age. The name has come to symbolise many things, including the Norman occupation of England from the eyes of an Anglo-Saxon, to the bleak times of depression in life.

Search | Add | 20 | Mr. P Chill | William Rhoten | Mr. P Chill is an independent hip hop emcee and producer with three decades of experience as a recording and touring artist. With the recent release of his 14th full length album, L.I.F.E. - Living In Fragile Environments (2021), there is no sign that this Sacramento hip hop vet is stopping any time soon. Beginning his career as a recording artist in Sacramento, CA in 1992 with the release of his former group’s first cassette single, Chill has not only embraced what it means to be an emcee, but has also shown a flair for entrepreneurism as he has chosen the path of independence with the start of his own label. Over the next ten years, he remained active with his former group, recording and performing as well as being involved in the production of various projects from other Sacramento artists. Around the start of the 21st century, Chill was less active with music as he was faced with a crossroad. In 2001, he disbanded his original group and decided to go solo. The first release was his self titled debut album in 2002. Also that year, Chill began touring the West Coast, performing shows in various bars and small music venues in support of this record. By 2007, Chill was performing an average of 50-60 shows a year all over California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, while maintaining a full time day job. In 2010, after burning the candle at both ends for a decade, Mr. P Chill went walked away from the 9 to 5 and devoted 100% of his energy to music and touring. In the fifteen years since, he has expanded his touring to cover the entire US at least once per year, alongside smaller regional tours throughout the year. Chill spends on average, ⅔ of every calendar year on the road, performing songs, selling merchandise and most importantly, connecting with fans. Also in recent years, Mr. P Chill has had the pleasure of collaborating in the studio and sharing the stage with legendary emcees such as Spyder-D, 2Mex, Cee Knowledge (aka Doodlebug of Digable Planets), Percee P, The Great Peso (Fearless Four), Sach Illpages (The Nonce), Sage Francis, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Terminology, Masta Ace and Fatlip (The Pharcyde), just to name a few. Most notably, his single with hip hop pioneer, Spyder-D, entitled “No Regrets” spent several months in rotation on college radio from coast to coast in late 2015. In October 2015 the song was featured by the legendary founder of Public Enemy, Chuck D, on his weekly radio show, “Songs That Mean Something”, on WBAI Radio in NYC and streamed worldwide on rapstation.com. In March 2017, Mr. P Chill and The Great Peso of the Fearless Four released a single called “R U Wit It” which enjoyed regular airplay on college radio and on rapstation.com. On the weekly radio show, Hip Hop Gods Radio, the single charted for 13 weeks, peaking at #1 in July 2017. Most recently his song "Social Distancing" from his most recent L.I.F.E. album, that he collaborated with Cee Knowledge on, charted at #1 on the same chart in August of 2020 after several months in rotation on rapstation.com, Hip Hop Gods Radio and various college and community radio stations across the United States. Also from the L.I.F.E. album, the song "Diggin' (Crate Digger's Anthem)" charted on the Hip Hop Gods top 20 and hit #1 after 12 weeks climbing the charts. The future looks bright for Mr. P Chill, a man who remains focused as he enters his prime. Chill is guided by his positive attitude, his heartfelt lyrics and his connection to hip hop’s golden era. |

Search | Add | 20 | Юрий Олеша | Юрый Карлавіч Алеша (Юрий Карлович Олеша | Yuriy Karlovich Olesha) | Yury Olesha (3 March {O.S. 19 February} 1899, Elizavetgrad, Russian Empire — 10 May 1960, Moscow, USSR) was a Russian and Soviet writer, novelist, poet, dramatist, and critic, co-founder of the influential Poet's Collective ("Коллектив поэтов") literary club in Odesa in the early 1920s with Valentin Kataev, Eduard Bagritsky, [a=Isaac Babel], and Ilya Ilf. Despite a relatively small number of published works, Olesha is renowned among the greatest Russian novelists of the early XX century, one of the few who carried authentic, profound literary value throughout the era of strict Stalinist censorship. The growing pressure of the Soviet regime tampered with his later career, and Olesha practically stopped publishing after the 1930s. His best-known works are the "revolutionary" fairy tale Three Fat Men (1924, publ. in 1928), the satirical novel Envy (1927), and the posthumous literary diary Not a Day Without a Line (1965). Name variations: Yuriy Karlovich Olesha, Юрий Карлович Олеша, Юрый Карлавіч Алеша, Juri Karlowitsch Olescha, Jurij Olesja, Iuri Oleșa, Oleixa, Oleša, Oleŝa. He was born to an impoverished family of Belarussian nobility in Elizavetgrad town (Kropyvnytskyi in modern-day central Ukraine), speaking Polish as his first language. In 1902, Olesha's family relocated to Odesa, where he graduated from a gymnasium and enrolled in the Odesa University in 1917, studying law for two years. After his parents immigrated to Poland in 1922, Yury Olesha relocated to Moscow. He wrote satirical miniatures and articles, often under pseudonyms, publishing regularly in the railway industry newspaper Gudok ("Гудок," or "Train Horn") favored by progressive writers and publicists, such as Mikhail Bulgakov, Valentin Kataev, and renowned Ilf & Petrov duo. Despite the critical and public success of his first novels in the late 1920s, as Stalinist censorship became more stringent and severe, Yury Olesha found it increasingly challenging to publish. At the First Congress of Soviet Writers in August 1934, he publicly admitted his inability to write about the "heroic deeds" of proletariate workers. By tragic irony, Olesha might've inadvertently inspired and sparkled this ideological requirement for writers to adhere to the "socialist realism" tenets; according to May 1971 recollections of Viktor Shklovskiy (who also helped to compile and publish the writer's posthumous diaries), Yury Olesha coined the popular term "Engineers of the human soul" referring to writers at one of the early 1930s meetings with [a=Joseph Stalin] at Maxim Gorky's house. Stalin quoted the formula later on several occasions: "As comrade Olesha aptly expressed himself, writers are engineers of human souls" — and as some researchers argue, this aphorism inspired Soviet politician and chief propagandist Andrei Zhdanov (1896—1948) to formalize the doctrine strictly prohibiting any form of art except for social realism. In 1935, Yury Olesha wrote a script for Abram Room's film A Strict Young Man. Seeing the public condemnation of [a=Dmitri Shostakovich], he feared that the movie, "far more leftist than Shostakovich's music," would likely get banned. Indeed, it was abruptly canceled for "crude violations of the socialist realism style" and shelved for over 25 years (with some limited screenings in the 1960s and the first public release in 1974). Yury Olesha began drinking in later years, subsequently developing alcoholism. He died from a heart attack at 61. |

Search | Add | 20 | Damian Kozub | Damian Kozub | Damian Kozub & Rafael Kozub, Cracow (Poland) duo’s activity dates back to late 70’s. The twin brothers, multi–instrumentalists–Rafael and Damian, started playing when they were kids in a band Pantograf that was a part of municipal transport corporation. The brothers created their own band a bit later with their then basist (later the lead singer and the guitarist of the Cracow blues formation KGB) Paweł Małysiak "Pawka". Their activity of that time as well as studio recordings were still little bashful. Between 1982 and 1988 they recorded their music on tapes at a home studio and distributed them in Poland and abroad in samizdat by three publishing houses: B.N.exp, ARS2, AML. In 1986 Damian and Rafael started another group Fragmenty R–27 (later called simply R–27) Encouraged by another band’s success (ZAOS) R–27 they continued their artistic performance for the next four years. The line–up changed over the years: Andrzej Jarzyna was the first drummer, Piotr Nodzeń was the second bassist and Darek Kaszubski played bongos, still the core members stayed invariable: Rafael Kozub (keyboard and percussion, vocals and composer), Damian Kozub (percussion, vocals, piano and composing), Rafał Walczowski "Walek" (bassist), Piotr Łabuzek "Buzer" (trumpet, vocals and synthesizer) and Paweł Ochel "Rudy" (guitar and vocals). The brothers gave a lot of concerts with this controversial band in their home town Cracow (at a club and Podwawelski Cinema, twice at Nowohuckie Culture Centre (NCK), at Wola Zoo Club and Białoprądnicki Manor House, etc.) They also took part in a few big events such as: in Skawina – "O.D.K" club , in Katowice – "Akant" student club, at a "Festiwal Muzyki Odjazdowej", "O To Chodzi" club in Rzeszów, in Warsaw – "Remont" club and at "Marchewka" Festival in "Riviera" club – together with the composer Zbigniew Lampart – the then manager of Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów. The mistrust towards those vigorous performances, however very remote from post–punk culture, that the band would give, made R–27 abandon further tours and giving accidental gigs. Apart from tape recordings the brothers published numerous brochures, papers such as: Alter – edited with Robert Kramaric and features – later used by Henryk Palczewski in his guide ARS2. In 1988 the brothers started publishing cooperation with Mariusz Błachowicz and in the middle of 1989 met musicians: Ireneusz Socha, Arkadiusz Franczyk and Andrzej Kramarz (Kirkut–Koncept and Na Przykład) with whom they recorded "Sen Wczorajszy" in October 1989. On emigration the brothers pursued solo careers. Having settled down in Rhineland – Westphalia (Germany) they carried out their musical projects till late 90’s – especially Damian who recorded even till 2007. The projects have been published on tapes and CD’s. His later attempt to start a band with Peter Sohn from Wuppertal wasn’t successful. |

Possessing a deep love for the hip-hop culture that began since he was very young, his mindstate as a musician is to always stay true to the game, be yourself, and never sacrifice your art for materialistic things. With a lyrical and production style reminiscent of the old school, the Mad Doctor’s goal is to provide his listeners with raw, dope beats and down-to-earth, truthful, sometimes humorous lyrics, and make sure each new release always brings something stylistically different to the table. When he’s on the mic, his topics include politics, social issues, relationships, friendships, and of course, his stances on hip-hop and the ever shady music industry. He is currently working on his debut album “MALPRACTICE MUSIK,” set to drop later this year. |
