Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Cliff Bingham Cliff Bingham began classical organ studies in 1962 with Roland Stenton and Frank Taylor at St Matthews Anglican Church, Manly. In 1964, in his final school year, he was the organ soloist at the Festival of School Instrumental Music in the Sydney Town Hall, the first of many occasions on which he would be featured at that magnificent organ. Cliff joined the NSW Division of the Theatre Organ Society of Australia in 1962 and was soon featured at society meetings at the Sydney State and Capital Theatre Wurlitzer organs. Since then he has played numerous concerts in all Australian states and New Zealand on both pipe and electronic organs. He has been a featured artist at many Theatre Organ Society Conventions and was privileged to present a concert on the magnificent new Walker organ in the Adelaide Town Hall as part of the 1993 Convention. In December 1981, Cliff was appointed organise for the annual ‘Christmas at the Opera House’ presentation and held this position until the final production in 1997. He has presented numerous concerts at the Opera House Grand Organ as part of the ‘Bennelong’ and ‘Family Proms’ concert series and for the 100th presentation of the television show ‘Good News Week’. He was also one of the first organists to record this organ (with orchestra) on the critically-acclaimed album of music from the film ‘Breaker Morant’. In September 2004, he was one of seven organists featured at the Silver Anniversary Concert celebrating 25 years of the Opera House Grand Organ. Following the restoration of the magnificent ‘Christie’ theatre organ at Epping Baptist Church, Cliff was the featured organist at the opening concert in 1985 and has played many concerts on it since then. Cliff is equally at home playing both classical and theatre organs. A feature of his programs is the inclusion of several items of a popular- classical nature including some orchestral transcriptions. In 2003, Cliff joined the Sydney organ firm of Peter Jewkes as the world’s “oldest organ-builder’s apprentice” and has been actively involved in the rebuilding and restoration of several significant organs. Cliff was Organist and Director of Music at St Alban’s Anglican Church, Lindfield, Sydney. Cliff has brought his outstanding theatre organ skills to the Festival since 2009.

Search Add 2 Jon Krocker Jon Krocker is from Winnipeg, Canada and got his start as half of the synth noise duo Dialog. In 1981-82, while studying for a BA in Film Studies, he would go to the studio and practice. No writing or patch memories, composing on the fly. His set up consisted of a Minimoog, Oberheim Two Voice, Roland RS-202, Roland Space Echo, EML 400, Roland DR 55, Roland System 100 mixer. After playing some of the songs to Impulse Records store owner Roman Panchyshsyn, he agreed to release the album on cassette on Contagious Records. Primarily influenced by the German school typified by artists such as Conrad Schnitzler and Kraftwerk, Jon's music exhibits the cold machine ethic of the Neumusik.

Search Add 2 Larry Emmett According to several sources, the Kansas City area’s first homegrown rock band of note was [a=Larry Emmett] and [a=The Sliders (5)]. Larry Emmett was Native American, born on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation near Mayetta, Kansas. His parents moved to DeSoto, Kan., where Larry attended high school and began playing the guitar. In the late 1950s and early ’60s, the band played gigs from Kansas City to Omaha, Neb., and many points in between. Their early engagements included high school dances and privately sponsored “teen town” parties, as well as Berry’s Barn in Olathe, Kan. — one of several area barns converted to dance halls during that era. They also performed at KC nightclubs, including the Promenade Ballroom at 31st and Main streets and the Crossroads at Benton Boulevard and Swope Parkway. Upon his 2011 induction into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, saxophonist Jim “Sweet Lips” Wilson told The Eudora, Kan., Reporter that the Sliders won a battle of the bands sponsored by WDAF-TV in 1958. Larry Emmett and the Sliders consisted of Emmett (guitar and vocals), Charles “Bud” Ross (later of Kustom amps fame, on bass and vocals), Frank Huffman (drums) and Jim Wilson (sax and vocals). Before Ross joined, Larry’s father, Chris (aka Flash), often played the bass. Larry Emmett fronted several other bands before and after the Sliders, including the Tonemasters and the Swingin’ Indians (the latter group featuring [a=Tom Bark], later of Colt 45/KC Blues Band). The Sliders recorded one seven-inch 45 rpm record, released in 1959 or ’60 on their own Blues label. The titles, credited to Emmett, are “West Coast Blues” and “Bluesy,” and they are, indeed, slow blues instrumentals. Emmett left the Kansas City area in the late 1960s and died in 2000 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Search Add 2 Собака Funk rock band from Cherepovets, Russia. Formed in May 2000 in Cherepovets. Since November 2004 relocated to Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Search Add 2 Asperger Syndrome Italian band formed on 15th March 2012 by Mental Delay (aka Michael Wolf'scall) and his wife, Double Phase. Both members perform vocals, but other than this, it's currently unclear which person handles which instruments. Musically, they play depressive black metal, but mix in a lot of experimental elements. The band call this hybrid style "Harrowing Oppressive Multiform Suicidal Black Metal". They're a Christian band, and tackle this subject matter in the context of depression and mental illness. The current status of the band is unknown as their webpages have been inactive since 2014.
