Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Sugar Organ Hip-Hop group from Denver, CO, this is a project created in the free time of Tittle T the guitarist and vocalist for a Denver based metal band called [a=Engine Ear], and [a=Timmy Flips] also a guitarist and vocalist but hes in a punk band called [a=Red Stinger]. They started with a lot of momentum which lasted for a while they were even recording a second album. But a series of previous commitments and events in their personal lives prevented their continuous engagement with the community, and each other for a while, and i haven't heard any talk of them picking it back up any time soon either, though Matt did contribute lead vocals to a track on [a=Red Stinger]'s latest album.

Search Add 2 Skins Army Skins Army was one of the first fascist Italian Oi! bands. In their lyrics there are so much nationalism and a little bit of fascist argouments (like the song "Boia Chi Molla", one of the famous fascist motto). They came from Faenza (Emilia Romagna) and after Skins Army all the band members involved into "Fronte Della Gioventu", a youthful organization of MSI (right wing party). Another one guy with the name Riccardo play the bass once with them and now he play in the sharp band Reazione. Their line up was: Calboz-vocals, Ivan-guitar, Riccardo Gnoli-bass, Pantera-drums. Demo tape 'Le Strade' released in 1984. They have also one tape included the same songs and 'Boia Chi Molla' and another one live tape.

Search Add 2 Machtenzym The energetic duo MachtEnzym has been around for quite some time evolving from the depths of Dresden’s always growing electronic music scene. They both gained massive respect and enthusiasm when playing live so it’s really no wonder the partycrowd goes wild after their unique and blending mixture of live drums (Matthias Macht) and the utterly experimental and crackling live electronics (Enzym). Razorsharp, versatile and non-standard drum patterns as both musicians play their instruments efficent with total control over the buttons and still they have enough room to improvise proved by the fact they come up with an entirely new set for every single show. Improvisation seems to be the magic concept behind the professional and stunning live shows they put up while being on stage. MachtEnzym melts together two very varied musicians to one powerful core. Rating: absolutely worth hearing!

Search Add 2 Sister Willie Johnson Willie Lane Johnson Sister Willie Johnson was known as "The Singing Evangelist" in the Pentecostal church. The granddaughter of a slave, she was born on May 2, 1905 to Senator Daniel Lane and Louella Cougar. Due to the stigma surrounding interracial relationships, her father rejected her. She was sold by her mother in marriage to a man who severely abused her. On her way to the Wheeling (West Virginia) bridge to end her life, she heard music coming from a small Pentecostal church. She recounts the story: "It was beautiful! I reasoned that it would not hurt, nor change anything if I pause and listen. I stood for a moment, and the singing drew me inside. Something got ahold of my heart, and the first thing I knew I was in the altar. I received the Holy Ghost and it changed my life, it changed my future, it changed my eternity." From the 1930s to the 1980s, Sister Willie's powerful ministry intermingled song, Scripture, and a unique demonstration of spiritual gifts that were unusual in her day. Everywhere she ministered, she was beloved and highly esteemed, and lives were changed. She left this earth for her Heavenly home on January 24, 1984. In 2019, a biography about her remarkable life was released: Through the Waters, the Life and Ministry of Sister Willie Johnson by Lori Wagner.

Search Add 2 Bentham the Band Bentham is the musical alter ego of Ben Paulos, a Bay Area singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. After the usual trumpet in the school band, picking up guitar in high school, then jazz, Balkan and West African music in college, his first major band was Laughing Academy, in Boston, circa 1988-1993. That was an art rock trio plus singer that recorded three albums (but released one and a half), played New England and New York clubs, and garnered national airplay before folding. Laughing Academy members went on to play in Sugar, the Willard Grant Conspiracy, and Transmissionary Six. Bentham was launched in Boston, then continued in Madison, Wisconsin in the late 1990s, in a lineup featuring Ken Keeley, John Driscoll, and Rick Cavalieri. It moved to San Francisco, where the three album releases were finished and released: The Mauve Decade, Miss Wisconsin, and Pacific.
