Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 13 Tawn Mastrey Tawn Mastrey (August 20, 1954 – October 2, 2007) was an American disc jockey, music video producer, one of rock radio's top media personalities. She hosted a daily show on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hair Nation. Mastrey was heard nationally on Westwood One Entertainment's Absolutely Live High Voltage every other week. Mastrey hosted, wrote, produced and syndicated her own radio specials, RockZone and Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Happy Hour, through Mastrey Productions, Inc. She did voice-overs, owned her own video production company, Ladies In Production Services, and wrote a cookbook, Eat This. Mastrey had hosted radio shows in California for KQLZ Pirate Radio in Los Angeles, KNAC in Long Beach, KLSX in Los Angeles, KMEL in San Francisco, and KSJO in San Jose, before appearing on KUFO in Portland, Oregon, in the late 1990s, and at KXXR in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At KNAC, Mastrey was known as the 'Leather Nun," a nickname she was accorded by a San Francisco-area radio station program director, who thought she resembled a character from a German comic book with that name. Mastrey was one of the first DJ's to play AC/DC in the US after Bill Bartlett, Program Director of WPDQ FM/WAIV in Jacksonville led the way. When available only as import albums, AC/DC's first albums High Voltage (Aus.) (1975), T.N.T. (1975), and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (Aus.) (1976) were immediately added for airplay following the successful heavy airplay of High Voltage (Int.) (1976) which always summoned a flood of listener telephone requests. Soon after several in studio and on air appearances by the band that preceded their first US tour, Tawn with KSJO developed a close relationship with AC/DC's Angus Young and Bon Scott who returned for several personal appearances around KSJO's San Jose Market appearing in the KSJO Rock "n" Roll Circus".

Search Add 13 Bob Bryden Canadian songwriter, guitarist, and singer Bob Bryden began his professional music career some time in the early '60s. Over the next four decades he lent his impressive skills to a long line of different bands, appearing on numerous singles and albums with them. Other groups he worked with included the Outcasts, Benzene Jag, the Brick, Age of Mirrors, and the Christopher Columbus Discovery of New Lands Band. When Bryden formed new groups, he usually brought at least a couple of familiar faces along with him. During the latter part of the '70s and even into the early '80s, he tried a turn at a solo career that produced a few more albums. Bob Bryden was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Working with the group Reign Ghost, he saw the release of his first album in 1968. He next recorded with a rock band called by the unlikely name of Christmas. In 1977, Bryden completed his debut solo offering, The Displaced Years. It was released by the Open Heart label and only on cassette. He spent a decade working with other bands before a sophomore solo album hit the market in 1987. Along the way, Bryden appeared on nearly two dozen albums, some reissued years after their original release date.

It was a bright, sunny day with the sky a perfect shade of blue, and he was truly inspired by the absolute majesty and splendor of the moment. On landing, he wrote his now famous sonnet on the back of a letter which he had earlier written his parents. Three days later, on another bright and sunny day, John Gillespie Magee, Jr. was killed when the Spitfire he was flying collided with another aircraft in mid-air. Several days later, his parents received the letter he had written, and on the back was his poem, "High Flight". It is now a permanent entry in the British Flying Training Manual and the freshman handbook, Contrails, at the United States Air Force Academy.

Search Add 13 Cor Sanders Patrick Franz Already in his early childhood Patrick came in contact with electronic music. Fascinated by all areas of house & trance he lived only for this music. But from time to time, his music became harder and harder … Driven by the hard, driving beats he began in 2000 to put his hands on mixing. First it started with the mixing on a laptop, where he quickly made a name for itself in its environment. The level of awareness has led to numerous gigs at private parties, birthdays and some sporting events. This however was not enough to him, because the music always continued to develop, so his interests changed. Then he discovered Hardstyle & Jumpstyle for himself, his passion… The project “DJ Drukktechnik” was born. Hard beats, Rhythmic, harmonic melodies and some vocals, that was exactly what he needed. Soon, some friends and he founded one of the many “Jumpstyle crews”, which consisted of many of his friends and acquaintances. Here it was laying near that he was a disc jockey for that team. After a few weeks, there were the first gigs in several clubs in Leipzig. After buying real equipment (turntables, korgpad and so on, he improved his skills. Numerous gigs followed thereupon. He played for example with Bangbros, DJ Sacrifice, Jump Ahead, Patrick Jumpen, Nick D-Lite and so on … In 2010, he applied himself again to the trance and started producing. The project “Cor Sanders” was established and deals with the directions Trance, HandsUp, Electro and House. The movement in the scene also influenced him to expand his producing repertoire to Tech- and Deep-House. But to not forget his roots in the harder scene, he also has an Electro House project, called “Rough Stuff”.

Search Add 12 Vital Organ Auction In the 1990s Pastor Oilfield and Marshall Lawlessness discovered they were both outside a Punk / Hardcore show for the same reason: they hated what was happening inside. They got talking further; discovered they both loved Punk, wanted to be in a Punk band; but they wanted to avoid some of its decades-in trappings, avoid sounding too much like any one group, sound, or subgenre. Over the next couple years Vital Organ Auction wrote two EP's; some songs that never got documented yet may one day be; played shows in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. Including opening for Fang, as well as pioneering Hardcore Punk Canadian legends D.O.A. A couple years after documenting -The Main Course Is- at Dr. Dendrite's, Marshall Lawlessness and Pastor Oilfield reconnected, this time with the latter on drums, in the genre-defying Kingdoms Falling, which also included Giorgio Archery on guitar, and Oldouz Behzad on vocals. No released documentation as of yet but watch for demos, live, etc. Marshall Lawlessness has also played under the names: Filthy McWhiskey and Wally Homicide. His credits include: Tragic Black, Ashes of Fall, The Homicides, and many more. Giorgio Archery currently jams in Press Gang Union. Pastor Oilfield veered off into performance poetry for a decade. One night in 2015 after work management had decided unannounced to desecrate the break-room with a television, Oilfield walked in on a city-slicker Country Music awards show. He soon declared under his breath: "Someone should throw a fucking brick." Not much later he declared to himself: "Well why don't -you- throw one, tough stuff." So he went home, did his best to summon the spirits of Black Flag and The Birthday Party toward his own, and sketched out "Down the Hatchet". A year or two later he sketched out "Tupperware Twang" to commemorate the moment further. In 2017 Marshall Lawlessness and Giorgio Archery signed on for an album, a single, and maybe more with Vital Organ Auction. A. P. Angry (whose credits include the Red Bennies and Subrosa) got in on the action as drummer and engineer. -Empire Dances with Ashes- and -Serving Crispy Wingers- hit the marketplace in 2018.

Search Add 12 Robert Q. Lee US soul artist from the Indiana area. Robert was a talented, song writer, producer and artist. He grew up in 1960’s Gary, Indiana and was school boy friend’s with Gordon Keith and Ben Brown, so when they stated their own record label, it was no surprise that he signed to them. He had form a group, Robert Lee & The Exquisites and had been playing gigs around the city and on Chicago’s south side which in fact was only 10 miles away over the state line. His one release on the label got some play on local radio stations, but didn’t sell that well. By the early 70’s his talents as a producer had grown and he was often called on by other local groups to work with them. His next move was under the name of Lost Weekend another vocally stylish harmony group, who released on his own Lost Weekend records and one release on the Chicago label U.S.A. He then changed his recording name to General Lee and with his latest group The Space Army Band recorded three more 45’s on his label including the currently popular ‘Pleasure’. He spent another few years touring with this set up before retiring from the business.

Search Add 12 Oblivious Artefacts Oblivious Artefacts visual art and much more. We are a collective working in Roma, Palermo, Berlin. Oblivious Artefacts is a visual experiment, a collaboration between Ignazio Mortellaro, Rosanna Costantino, Marco Morici, José Florentino, Glauco Marino and Luca Mortellaro. Their work explores the dynamics between people and the use of space, and the interaction of natural and fabricated environments. The medium of video acts as a tool for investigating the perception of images, invoking moods that range from the surreal to the objective. Technology is kept to a minimum and technical restriction is imposed in order to release creativity. Mortellaro and Costantino take influence from early C20th experimental cinema where utterly iconic imagery was created despite huge technological constraints. Each Oblivious VJ set or AV performance involves the use of original material and forms an ongoing research into human anatomy and landscapes. Oblivious Artefacts is also a visual label, have also worked with outstanding underground labels, including Prologue, Edit Select, Ear to Ground, Meerestief , Lineal Records. 2009 sees Oblivious join the Stroboscopic Artefacts family, a Berlin based techno label where they are the resident graphic designers; realising the entire design concepts from 12” artwork to video teasers to VJ sets.
