Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Trash Can Boy Hello, I'm Can Tan. I have been surrounded by music since I was a kid, as the child of a father who studied western classical music, whose main instrument was bassoon . I love to forming, deforming, creating and destroying. I am not a musician that tries to meet the expectations of the market, I always try to distance myself from such extinctions. I feel/know that I stand with the dreamers and unruly, who are essential for the continuity of the development of any art form. I played in many with bands and albums: Mai, Toz ve Toz, Duygusal Provokasyon, Motorrmoose, Cem Tan Quintet, Robotik Hayaller are a few them. After a short break from the urban life and music, I started composing my solo albums between 2019-20; "Dunkelheit im Horizont", "Soul Path" and "Home Series" were released by Shalgam Records.

Search Add 3 William Kempster William Kempster Dr. William Kempster is a conductor and scholar based in southern Colorado and central France. He has conducted over 2000 performances all over the world, concentrated in Australia (1983-1996), Canada (1996-2009) and the USA (1999-present). He has produced over 30 compact discs/albums covering repertoire from the late 15th century through to very recent works, and among these performances are over 50 world premiere recordings. He was the founding director of the acclaimed Canadian chamber choir Ensemble de la Rue, and after a career of teaching at the University of New Hampshire, remains the director of Cappella Nova Mundi while now also concentrating on various other projects. Dr. Kempster organized and directed eight international tours for his choirs over the years, and is the only conductor in the world to have progressed two different choirs from two different countries to the final stage of the world's most prestigious Chamber Choir competition, held in Marktoberdorf, Bavaria, Germany, every other year (Ensemble de la Rue in 2005, and the University of New Hampshire Chamber Singers in 2013). Dr. Kempster's research interests are concentrated on the works of Renaissance master Pierre de la Rue – concerning whose music he has published and presented articles on the global academic stage – as well as the choral music of Australian composer Ross Edwards. Dr. Kempster's new book on Edwards, A Singular Voice - The Choral Music of Ross Edwards, was published in December 2023 by Wildbird Music, Australia, and is available globally via Amazon: https://wildbirdmusic.com.au/shop/books/a-singular-voice-the-choral-music-of-ross-edwards-by-william-kempster In September, 2020, Dr. Kempster completed work on A 'Complete' Performing Edition of the Works of Pierre de la Rue, the website for which can be found here: https://pierredelaruescores787ad8.webflow.io Dr. Kempster's latest project is a website dedicated to new editions of public domain choral music from the Renaissance through to now. This website already has over 140 scores available (for free) and is sited here: https://echoraleditions-wk.webflow.io Many of Dr. Kempster's recorded performances can be found on the various music streaming services (such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, YouTube Music, and Pandora), summarized here: https://push.fm/fl/xszve7fj

Search Add 3 Jackie Storrar Jackie Storrar was raised in Kirkcaldy just outside Edinburgh and attended the same school as Gordon Brown, the last labour prime minister. Music was always her first love which was to take her to perform in over 80 countries worldwide, from the early days at school and in church to Country festivals, cruise ships and theatre shows. Jackie quickly became a media person after being given the chance to present her Country Girl show on Dundee's Radio Tay, the first female Country jock on the station. This led to other media work and the chance to be the breakfast jock on Island Sound Radio in Malta. This soon encompassed tv work and eventually to her performing live all over the Island. Jackie all this time maintained her songwriting skills which led to her becoming a premier presenter on CMR Nashville from 2009 to 2011. Meeting her husband to be on a cruise ship she married Steve Theibault in 2003 and a great musical partnership was born. It was only in recent years that Jackie’s health has caused her to stop performing.

Created in 2010, the band underwent several name changes and line-up modifications until it reached its final form in 2015 under the name of AMAGUQ, the Wolf-Devil of ancient Inuit mythology. Originally from Canada, now located in France because of academic commitments, BR (bass, vocals) and SR (drums, keyboard), two brothers of Inuit ancestry have been joined by AK (guitars, vocals) to form a powerful and vicious trident devoted to war metal. Highly influenced by Finnish mad kings of Beherit and Impaled Nazarene, fueled by the fury of fellow Canadian warmongers Blasphemy and Conqueror, AMAGUQ’s only goal is to destroy everything in sight while praising the old Gods of Kalaallit Nunaat.

Search Add 3 Talgevo Japanese punk band from Saitama. Active from 1982 to July 1988. Formed by high school friends, played the original and The Stalin cover songs in their early days. Early-Mid : Fast-paced punk with Typhus influences musically and lyrically. Later : New wavey punk rock. Generic sound. (Different vocalist) (Review by Brave New World) "Talgevo - Live at Explosion 8'' flexi Explosion Records - RO701 - May 1985 What can i say about this one ? Inessential but a rare find, pretty obscure record. Talgevo played upbeat Japanese punk-rock, which could be compared to a poppier version of The Stalin, for example... This is a live recording taken from the soundboard which does really well to capture the energy of the band, who might have sucked with a cleaner but mediocre studio recording. Here, the sound quality is pretty good, from the recording itself to the vinyl mastering, the work was done by passionate and dedicated professionals . Rock House Explosion was a "live house", a venue for punk, rock and metal bands, and also a record label. According to the catalog numbers, it seems they had produced many many different records during the 80's."

Search Add 3 Willie Bovain Keyboardist Willie Bovain was born in 1944 in San Diego, California. He began playing the piano and organ at the age of 9. His first training was in his father's church, Reverend John Bovain. At the age of 21, he plays in clubs with his trio and is very successful everywhere he plays. Chuck Johnson, General Manager of Rhythm & Blues' first local radio station "XEGM" and his "Soul 95" program in San Diego, discovered Willie Bovain on his shows. In 1969, for Bovain's only album, Chuck Johnson co-wrote several songs with Willie, and composed the excellent "Love Walk", the album also included a beautiful version of "Hurt So Bad". Aside from his only album, Willie Bovain recorded two singles, one on Radio City RC-1000: Willie Bovain Trio "Soul In The Morning / Carnival Of Soul" and another on Soul City SC-1000: Willie Bovain And The Rocks "Sippin ' Soul "which is a kind of" Hurt So Bad "revisited, coupled with a title that appears on the album" Patricia's Delight ". Both labels seem related because Radio City is published by Soul City Pub. Co.

Search Add 3 SoulBrigada SoulBrigada was founded in 2009 by the german artists & musicians Alex D. and Fabio V. With this project they want to pull down stereotyped thinking and musical barriers and present a wide range of various music. As the name SoulBrigada associates Soulmusic is obligatory for them but they’re not limited to this genre – the main point is the SOUL in the music. Moving between Beats & Breaks, Global Grooves, Electronica, Disco & Rare Groove, the listener can always expect an exciting and versatile trip. This passion has also led to music production, which has accumulated a considerable number of releases over the years. It all started in 2011 when their first production, a remix of a song by the 'Gilles Peterson Havana Cultura Band' was officially released on a limited & exclusive vinyl EP. Further releases followed on KAT45, Matasuna Records, Légère Recordings, Resense and Samosa Records. More releases will see the light of day in the near future. In summer 2016 the own label Matasuna Records was launched, which is specialized in reissuing rare music from all over the world, but also doesn't disregard great contemporary music. The label has built up an excellent reputation among music connoisseurs over the years, so that many of the vinyl releases are already sold out.

In addition, Dok wrote the lyrics of "Shooting Star" by The Teeth, which won the "Song of the Year" award at the NU 107 Rock Awards 2000. He also runs a silkscreen printing business whose clients include some of the most prominent bands in the local Filipino rock scene today. Aside from Teeth, one of Dok Sergio's former bands was Warehouse Club where he played guitars and lead vocals, his bandmates were from the members of the band The Youth (Robert Javier and Joseph Carrasgo) and Jun Dela Rosa. During his early days as a musician, he played for bands such as Purple Playground, God's Era and Prominence of Cathedrals. Dok played bass for Imago and now for indie band Prank Sinatra. He sometimes jams with Sandwich and played bass for them during the Myx Mo 2008. He uses a Squier Jazz Bass and Fender Japan Jazz Bass Guitar, and recently, a 6-string Fender Bass. Today, aside from having reunited with Teeth, he also sometimes plays bass for Imago.

Attilio Poto was born in Boston in 1915 but moved with his family to Italy shortly thereafter, returning to Boston at the age of nine. As a very young man, he played clarinet in a Festival Band in Boston's North End, in a WPA orchestra, and in Boston's Youth Orchestra, conducted by Koussevitzky's nephew, Fabian Sevitzky. At 24, Poto went to New York City to play in the National Orchestral Association, a training orchestra, and to study conducting with its conductor, [a=Leon Barzin], who had played under Toscanini and absorbed Toscanini's baton technique. In 1939 Poto was solo clarinet with the [a=The Metropolitan Opera House Orchestra] for all the German repertory. Upon returning to Boston in 1940 he conducted the Massachusetts State Symphony in numerous concerts before enlisting in the Air Force in 1942. He played in the 628th Air Force Band until resuming civilian life in 1946. That same year he studied conducting with Koussevitzky at [l=Tanglewood (3)]. In 1949 he was engaged as second clarinet in the BSO under [a=Serge Koussevitzky] and, later, [a=Charles Munch]. As such, he participated in some of Koussevitzky's most memorable performances: the great Strauss Death and Transfiguration, the legendary Brahms First Piano Concerto with [a=Myra Hess] (both fortunately preserved as airchecks from the respective broadcasts), and various commercial recordings, including Don Juan, the Siegfried Idyll and the Brahms Fourth Symphony. In 1950 he began teaching clarinet and conducting at the Boston Conservatory, retiring in 1992, after 42 years. He died in Boston on July 23, 2003 at the age of 88.

Search Add 3 Thee Creepfreaks Thee Creepfreaks are a psychobilly trio from London, combining up-tempo drumbeats, loud dirty guitar and demonic vocals. In the summer of 2012 Peter (ex-Nocturnal Teds/ Miniskirt Blues) dusted off his rockin’ guitar and called double bass player Anthony and they started starting rehearsing and stringing together a few tracks and after a few different drummers they found the bone rattling beats of Jeremy (Devil Crockett). After Anthony left the country we have hooked up with our new bass player Ash and are roaring and ready to go again…. Since their first gig at The Klub in Camden, they’ve been playing regularly in London supporting bands like Mad Sin, Tall Boys, Demented are Go and many others. With a love of horror, armed with macabre lyrics and a view of the world in demise, these psycho love children of Lemmy and Elvis will get the pit going and have you howling at the moon until the early morning light.
