Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 XR66 Technical death/groove metal band from Kaliningrad, Russia. Started by Anatoliy Smychkov as a continuation of [a=X-Rated 6ex6ex6ex] and [a=Exrated] originally as a solo project in January 2018, later that year expanded to the full band. XR66 takes its roots in 2006 when it was a death metal band called X-Rated 6ex6ex6ex which has released one album "Woodland Belt [Deadly Trap]" but split up during the recording of the second one. Only one man was left - their vocalist Anatoly, who gathered a new recording line up & finished the second album called "SOS" & renamed band to Exrated. But the band couldn't move forward because drummer Oscar Nilsson was from Sweden and it was impossible to rehearse due to geographical separation. The new story of the band began in 2016. At that time Anatoly had joined a local rock band to fill in a role of a bass player. So rock band set off to the Hertz Studio at the beginning of autumn. There was something in the air and Anatoly got an idea to continue the story of X-Rated with a slightly different name and concept. The new band took best ideas from the old songs and started creating new ones.

Prior releases include 1995's Superlux Records "Happiness Is A One Trick Pony/Crying Is Shaped Like A Seahorse", 2000's Crank Automotive "They Must be Clapping For...Me", and 2006’s 2 self-released albums "Narrow Miss On The Chamber Pot" and "/....//../..//” (pronounced, “Grey Goose & a Whole Lotta Hydro”). Search Add 5 Psy Goose Rafael Marques Psychedelic trance / FullOn Night DJ producer based in Viseu, Portugal Born 18th september 1991, his connection to music began very early specially with electronic music thanks to his uncle that was a deejay. The most psychedelic sounds were the ones he liked more. After a friend listened to one of his mixes he started to become encouraged. A couple of years later his passion for psychedelic music just pumped up and he started to dedicate himself to this way of life. Because he liked trance so much he just learned alone the deejaying art and, then he started to mix live. Nowdays his main references are: Brainwash, X-avenger, Conscious Chaos, X-side, Stereopanic, Frozen Ghost, Critical Mass, Tantrum and so on…We may say that PsyGoose is extremely electric and has his own style. His sets are very rhythmic. Hot grooves, nice taste and loads of energy. Always improving!

Search Add 5 The Council Of Thirteen Culminating a dream that began 45 years ago, the Council of Thirteen the brainchild of keyboardist, vocalist, bassist and songwriter John W. Edwards, has its formations in songs that John started writing in 1979 while studying Physics and Mathematics at the University of Arizona in Tucson. John had the dream of starting a record label and soon thereafter, Renaissance Records was born. Formed and operating in Nashville between 1995 and 2001, he relocated the label back to Arizona, where it has been ever since. Therefore, The Council of Thirteen was born by combining the talents of 13 other musicians and singers with John’s songs and some great covers of other classic rock artists’ tunes. The full package of 48 tracks on "In Between The Dark And The Light" presented on 2 CDs gives a little something for everyone from power rock ballads to 70s pop songs, to 80s rock and new wave tunes and some great contemporary rock performances. "Lights of the Stage" is the second album featuring 24 new songs, including 5 classic covers. The third album "Find A Way Tonight" is being released in March and features 20 all new songs. The fourth album "Find A Way Tonight" has just been released in March 2025.

Ayaka From Nara/Osaka, Japan, B Side Approach from SMDcrew is a hot-rodding hardcore punk band that goes to Boston via New York! SMDcrew has been active since the early 2000s. One of the few bands in the Kansai area that continue the NYHC style lineage of HARDCORE BREAKOUT~SMDcrew. While keeping the 80's-90's NYHC and Boston's HC/Punk/Oi/Skins at the core of their music, they also inject plenty of the ferocious energy that Japanese Hardcore of the past used as a weapon, as well as elements of Thrash/Crossover, to create a golden balance between a thick build-up and a sense of drive. It is more than a sleeve-cut G-jacket. The band's sound, which is more than a sleeve-cut G-jean, but less than a studded jacket, with their martin boots tied tightly and suspenders swinging around their arms as they scatter dust, fills live houses with a charm that attracts both old and new hardcore punks and skins alike. In recent years, the band has taken a different approach, including the addition of a saxophone, and is now exploring a new, party-hard side that is more than just bright and cheerful. Search Add 5 Gaspard de La Montagne Gaspard Gigon Having previously experimented with various styles of music and performed in several acts, Swiss artist Gaspard de la Montagne is distilling his sound into something truly unique, as dark and tough as it is beautiful. Though the elements in his music are sometimes ice-cold, together they leave you feeling the opposite. He impressed with his debut ‘Pôle’ EP in 2013 and again with both ‘Stallion’ and 'Thot' a couple of years later, as his focus shifted from synth-led euphoria to bassy, hybrid techno. Today, his tracks bring the two directions together with seldomly-heard originality. ‘Spectres’, Gaspard’s first EP for his own label Sbire, exhibits this balance as well as any of his music so far. Dark, functional tracks shot with beams of light, where shards of sound react with one another and melody reflects from the edges.

Search Add 5 Little Jack MacDonald Little Jack (1887 – 1969) was raised in Judique, NS by Annie MacMaster MacDonnell, the wife of his mother’s brother, Allan “Tal”. Raised in this culturally rich area, Little Jack was exposed to many fine fiddlers and the Gaelic language. As a youngster learning the culture, Jack attempted to construct a fiddle from a wooden cigar-box. Seeing such an interest, Jack’s foster father built a half-sized instrument for him, and thus was the beginning of Jack’s fiddling career. Jack spent many of his years away from Cape Breton due to work and lived in Montreal, New England, Northern Ontario, Windsor Ontario, and Detroit Michigan. He was known for his traditional style, attention to detail, excellent bowing and cuttings, and precise position work which lent themselves to his excellent expression of difficult pastoral airs. With such dedication, he has been described as “The Bard of Scottish Fiddling.” His styled is exampled in his eight recordings, most on 78 discs. His personal motto with regards to Cape Breton fiddle, appears in the book the “Cape Breton Fiddler” as “music must have soul to make it worthwhile.”
