Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Larry Briers | Laurie T. Briers | Early jazz and dance band pianist born in Newport News, Virginia on December 25 of 1891. It's likely that Briers received his first piano lessons as a kid, and later studied at some conservatory. Briers married his sweetheart Evelyn Russell Groeble on September 6 of 1913 before the 2 newlyweds moved to New York, where Larry Briers obtained employment at the Rector Cafe from the 4th Street, place where he decided to use the artistic name of Larry Briers. It was there when he met clarinet player, violinist & future alto saxophonist Joseph Samuels, who hired him for his orchestra that also played in the Rector Café. Briers did his very first recordings with Samuels's Orchestra for the US branch of Pathé (which later became Pathé Actuelle) on January of 1919, and also recorded with Samuels for Okeh, Emerson, Lyric, the Plaza group (renamed ARC), Gennett, the NYRL group (including Paramount, Puritan, etc.), Arto, Bell, Grey Gull, Edison & Federal among other labels. In addition to recording with the above mentioned Joseph Samuels's Orchestra (& his subset Synco Jazz Band (aka the Tampa Blue Jazz Band, Porter's Blue Devils (Gennett sessions from August 31 of 1923, October 11 of 1923 & November 12 of 1923) & Joseph Samuels's Jazz Band), Briers also managed to record with the Rega Orchestra for Okeh, [a1568094]'s Orchestra (both under Glantz's own name & several pseudonyms such as [a2976919], for example) for several labels, the Blue Ribbon Trio for Okeh, Harry Reser's orchestra & trio (1922 to March of 1923), the Green Brothers Novelty Band (for Edison, Gennett & Okeh among other labels), etc. Briers also accompanied the Harmonizers, Mamie Smith, Clarence Williams & many more vocalists & vocal groups, in addition to appearing on several of Joseph Samuels's violin recordings, some of Harry Reser's earliest banjo solos with piano accompaniment, etc. And if that's not enough, he composed several tunes such as "Just Suppose", "Dew Drop", "Satisfied", "Oh, Joe (Please Don't Go)", "Parson Jenks", "Page Paderewski" (co-written with his boss Joseph Samuels & legendary pianist Pete Wendling), "Fine Feathers" & of course, "Brother Low-Down", which can be considered Briers's greatest hit if we have in mind that it was recorded among others by Bert Williams for Columbia, Al Bernard for Victor, Edison & Brunswick, and of course, Joseph Samuels's (Synco) Jazz Band as the Tampa Blue Jazz Band for Okeh that also included Briers himself at the piano. By 1940, Briers was now living in Franklin, Ohio with his wife Evelyn Russell Groeble & their son James L. Briers (born on 1924). Briers is presumably dead in the period from 1960 or 1970 onwards. |

Search | Add | 5 | 60 Cycle | 60 Cycle was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States, formed in 1993. The band's line-up included founder and principal songwriter Joey Rubenstein (lead vocals, guitar), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar, backing vocals), Glen Vagas (bass guitar,), and Kelli Scott (drums). 60 Cycle developed a style of power pop/punk music and was known for its unique melodic song craft and tight live performances. Before disbanding in 1996, the group released one self-titled record produced by Josh Abraham. The band contributed a song titled "Strapper" to the soundtrack of the 1998 film Boogie Boy starring Joan Jett and Traci Lords. After the group's demise, Van Leeuwen and Scott went on to tour with the band Failure while Rubenstein joined the group Fluorescein. Both of these outfits garnered major label recording contracts and moderate touring success. Rubenstein later developed a career as a composer for film and television while Van Leeuwen went on to play with notable acts such as A Perfect Circle and Queens of the Stone Age.

Search | Add | 5 | Ncomfortable | Nicolò Vairo | Producer, Sound Engineer, Drum Programming Maniac, Records Collector, Ganja Smokah. Ncomfortable, real name Nicolò Vairo, is an Italian producer from Turin, Italy. In love with music since an early age in the early 2000s he got in touch with electronic music and the discovery of acts such as Aphex Twin and Photek was really influential to him. Around 2007 thanks to a dodgy version of Reason 3 he began his journey into music production, cutting teeth on many genres, slowly moving from playing in his bedroom to illegal rave parties. In 2012, back to Italy after 1 year spent living in London, the project Ncomfortable was officially born with the idea of making deep, breakbeat based music. After years of hard work to improve his craft and defining his style, Ncomfortable remained loyal to his aestethic and his weird blend of jungle, hip hop and idm started to getting him noticed in the Italian bass music scene and his releases on BNC Expess and Dissected Culture LTD received supports from all across Europe, USA and Latin America. Back to his hometown after 4 years spent in Mexico, 2016 looks great for Ncomfortable so far with his first release on wax ( Route 1 Audio Vol. 2 ) and a bunch of tunes forthcoming on well respected Italian and European labels. |

Search | Add | 5 | Martín Galarza | José Martin Galarza Arce | José Martin Galarza Arce began in rap music starting in 1984, due to the fact that he traveled to Puerto Rico at that time. In this country he learned break dancing and rap. In 1989 he returned to Ecuador, after having completed his studies in sound engineering and music production at Institute of audio research-New York. In this year he obtained a record contract thanks to the help of Troy Alvarado "Bassist of the group Tranzas" and he released his first recordings on the album, "Asfalto Caliente" and "Guacharnaco", but it is with the song that followed them singles, the rap ballad titled "Tres Notas" with which marks the beginning of rap in Ecuador. The songs such as "Vago Soy", "Sangre Latina" and the song that released the fame to AU-D, "Tres Notas". "Tres Notas" sold more than 180,000 copies in less than a year, a record number for an Ecuadorian soloist at that time (source: IFESA) and received countless awards such as the Huancavilca Award as Song of the Year and marked the beginning of rap in Ecuador . The video remained in the most popular ranking of the time, that of the TV show "El Show de Bernard" (Ecuavisa) for 7 weeks as # 1. Already in 1992 he edits "Rebel Without Pause", disc of 4 subjects where he temporarily leaves aside the rap ballad and writes about more social themes, as well as expresses his concerns about an increasingly superficial world as in the song "Solo Entre Tanta Gente "and" Chicos de la Cuadra ", however, this album does not match the success of the previous one, which is why he decides to return to the line that he released with the song" Cuando Me Quieras ", written and performed together with the composer and singer of the band "Tranzas" Douglas Bastidas in 1994, managing to place this song among the most played songs of that year. In 1996 he decided to perfect that pop rap sound he had achieved and experimented by re-versioning the song of the lojano singer-songwriter Edison León Celi (Edhisson), "Un Amor Así"; also decides to integrate a female voice, the singer from Guayaquil Maria Gabriela Flor. In this CD of 9 songs I would also highlight the ballad "Solo Tu Amor". This CD, released independently, gets Double Gold Record (Source: Society of Authors and Composers of Ecuador-SAYCE) and places these two songs in the number one of the season 1996. In the 97 license this same album under the title of " Rebel Without Pause "to the BMG label, being the year of its internationalization, where it has the opportunity to transmit its music and triumph in part of South America. |

Dave began sending Ken his video recordings from live performances, which included some with former-collaborator, [a=Stuart Rosenzweig], and eventually it was decided that during Ken's visits to Maryland, he and Dave could perform as a duo, calling themselves Safe Creations. Their first concert was a benefit for An Die Musik, which hired national acts in the classical and jazz field to perform there. This being a success, the following year [2013] found them doing two shows, one in Baltimore and one in Washington D.C., which had a growing interest in electronic music. With an Advance CD having been distributed at their first concert, Ken decided that [a=Safe Creations] should have a studio album, so he went to work on the first official release on Bandcamp, "Unconscious Power".

In neighbouring Pakistan though, Iqbal has achieved more fame for a different reason – he is regarded as the spiritual father of Pakistan, because it was on the basis of a 1930 speech that the two-nation theory was formulated. |

Search | Add | 5 | Gladys Carbò | Gladys Lourdes Margarita Carbo Ramiro Garcia y de la Torre | NY-based Cuban singer a.k.a. Havana Carbo. Died in the Berkshires, Massachusetts, on October 25, 2015. At age 3 she took to the piano and at 8 began formal lessons in Havana, where she was raised in an environment that celebrated music but viewed “nightclub” performing as inappropriate for a young lady. Jazz established residence in her soul during her NY High School years, but a budding career was cut short by marriage to a Cuban Economics major she met while a student at pre-Castro’s Villanova University in Havana. But twenty years, three marriages and four children later, with life’s experiences as a bonus, Havana finally went home to her passion – music. In 1984, Carbo created “Havana Midnight”, a latin/jazz group devoted to her arrangements of Latin American classics from her past, and the group met with instant success in the Berkshires where she resided. She produced an EP (Another Summer), which led to being signed by Soul Note in 1987 to record her first solo CD, “Street Cries”. It featured Gene Bertoncini, Michael Moore, Marvin Stamm and John Sauer. In ‘89 she was awarded a Mass Arts Grant. Carbo recorded or performed with such greats as Michael Moore, Jimmy Giuffre, Gene Bertoncini, Dario Eskenazi, Nilson Matta, Vince Cherico, John Benitez, Café, Chocolate Armenteros, Oriente Lopez, Helio Alves, Sean Smith, Diego Urcola, Edsel Gomez, Aaron Goldberg, John Di Martino, “El Negro”Hernandez, Café, LeoTraversa, the late Edson Machado, and a two-month run as vocalist with the legendary Chico O’Farrill Band. Since moving to NY she has appeared in major clubs from NY to the Caribbean, South Beach and Paris; venues as varied as Birdland, 55BAR, Lenox Lounge, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smith College, Aaron Davis Hall, B.Smith’s, Lenox Lounge, Helsinki, the Barbados and Jamaica Jazz Festivals. Carbo has been featured guest on radio including WNYC, WFCR, WFDU, WBGO, WDNA Miami, XM Satellite Radio, WLUZ San Juan, and KLAS Jamaica. In the West Indies, the drink “Havana Carbo” was created in her honor at Kingston’s Redbones Blues Café. |

Search | Add | 5 | Fillmore King | Fillmore King has built a life long career in music. His roots go back to the early days in Tobago when, as a youngster, he took the town by storm, performing live on stage, radio and television. At the tender age of ten, he showed the promise of a gifted singer and musician. He first began performing with his sister. The duo soon became a family foursome when they were joined by two of their siblings. Fillmore starred in the weekly "Phil Swing King Show" which was, without doubt, the hottest live show around. Fillmore performed live at Queen's Hall, the equivalent of Carnegie Hall, in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He formed a group called Phil King and the Swing Pins and they performed for local audiences. He then became a member of the popular group known as The Strollers. Their performances of R&B and the popular tunes of the day were in demand throughout the Caribbean, where they toured extensively. Fillmore moved to Canada in his early twenties and in no time, became a member of a group. This led him to other groups and subsequently to form several groups of his own. His repertoire spanned a vast array of styles from R&B, calypso/soca and pop. Accompanied by his musicians, he toured throughout Canada and became a favorite on the dance scene. Fillmore was a featured performer on the well-known television extravaganza "The Telethon of Stars". In addition to his performing career, Fillmore made time to study radio and television broadcasting at the National Institute of Broadcasting. Fillmore recorded the theme song for "Spaced Out", an animated cartoon video for children. He has recorded radio commercials. Fillmore combines a hard soulful vocal style with melodic harmony and solid music to produce a sound performance that is both energetic and passionate. In addition to his talent as a vocalist, Fillmore is an accomplished musician who plays a number of instruments. In his capacity as composer, arranger and producer, he has four albums and four singles to his credit

Search | Add | 5 | Carlos Marroqui | Carlos Martínez Guevara | Carlos Marroqui, was born in Caracas, Venezuela on September 9, 19 ??. He is a Venezuelan singer and lawyer famous in the 70s. "His interest in music was evident from his early years, when he had the opportunity seven years after starting his apprenticeship with the renowned Creole musician Teófilo León, and in addition to singing he learned to play the cuatro, the guitar and the harp. The beginning of his professional career as a singer is given in 1973, year in which his voice is frequently heard on the stations of the time with the theme "You women ... have no thorns in the heart". After this triumph, he jumps to television, a medium in which he also unfolds naturally and ends up becoming a beloved and familiar face, which interpreted some of the great successes of the time, such as "Amor del alma", "And you have left alone "," Campesina "and" Oropel ", among others. His artistic name, Carlos Marroquí, was a gift from his musical godfather, the unforgettable Alfredo Sadel, who baptized him that way before inviting him to sing with him in the now defunct local "El Jacal", a place where he alternated with important figures of the Latin American music such as Tito Guizar, Carlos Julio Ramírez, Martinha, Luisa María Güell and Roberto Yanés, just to mention a few. Although after becoming a lawyer in 1978, his obligations in this area led him to move away little by little from radio and television, the truth is that Morocco never retired definitively from singing. And how could he do it, if in his few years of almost exclusive dedication to this artistic discipline he left more than sixty songs recorded, besides being nominated for the Golden Guaicaipuro and winning the Diplo 73 and Mara de Oro Awards 1974 as Revelation of the year, Espectáculos y Primerísimo 74. In 2014, he presented a book "Memoirs of a singer", of his own authorship, in which he pays homage to national and foreign performers. Currently, Carlos Marroquí is the founder of a fun group for the elderly called "Our songs of always: from the tango to the ballad". In addition, he continues to perform solo with unquestionable success in each scenario he faces with his melodious voice ". |

Search | Add | 5 | Original Camellia Jazz Band | Taking its name from a steam paddle wheeler that, in a bygone era, ran excursions across Lake Ponchartrain from Milneburg to Mandeville, the Original Camellia Jazz Band has become one of the most musically consistent and visible bands in New Orleans today. A working unit, they are equally happy to play for a Sunday Brunch, a convention party, a dinner dance or wedding reception. Every engagement shows off their versatility nicely with a wide spectrum of tunes - from traditional jazz classics like Tiger Rag and Basin Street Blues, to great standards of the 30s and 40s such as 'S Wonderful and Stardust. The Camellia can perform in the full six or seven-piece format, or as the Camellia Trio or Quartet for more relaxed, soft jazz. The smaller format works well also as a strolling group or mini-parade band.
