Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 5 | Lucas Stagg | The great Canadian artist Fred Eaglesmith once remarked that he believed one day southern Ontario will be viewed much like Texas in terms of how many great singer/songwriters each region has produced. What he heard was a common voice, capable of expressing all the joy, pain, fun and frustration of living in a place where the past and present are always seemingly at odds; a voice able to channel this tension into a sound that can’t strictly be called country, blues or rock and roll, but a bastard offspring of all three. This is Lucas Stagg. The Kitchener, Ontario native, now based in Toronto's Junction, has toured endlessly and released a dozen albums over the past decade, each a reflection of Stagg's choice of the troubadour life. By turns confessional and narrative, his songs are presented in an unadorned performance and production style that throws their lyrical and melodic content into sharp relief. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Alfonso Soliano | Excerpt from "Play it Again: The Music of Alfonso Soliano - A new album pays tribute to a legend of Malaysian music" By Ling Low and Syahir Ashri "A portrait of Alfonso Soliano hangs above the piano in their family home. The portrait, it is said, serves as a reminder to present members of the current family to never let the music die. Luckily, there doesn’t seem much chance of this happening: the Solianos are the Longest Performing Group (Family) in Malaysia, according to the Malaysian Book of Records. Rachel Guerzo, Soliano’s granddaughter, first started performing as a child. She now performs as a jazz singer and pianist around KL. This year marks 25 years since Alfonso Soliano’s passing. His influence may not be widely known today, but he arguably influenced the sound of modern Malaysian music more than any other one man. He was leader of the Radio Malaya orchestra and later conductor of the RTM Orchestra. He introduced the sound of bebop to the country. He was the mastermind behind many major local artists of the 1970’s, including Sharifah Aini. In his own day, Alfonso Soliano was a household name. Today, you might struggle to name one of his songs. But Rachel hopes to change that. She has just released an album, entitled Alfonso 25, that pays tribute to her grandfather and brings many of his songs to a new audience. “When I first had the idea for the first project, I wanted to show how timeless the music was and I wanted a diversified group of musicians so that we could showcase the music to different genres,” says Rachel. She selected different Malaysian musicians from different genres to interpret the songs for the album, including Ali Aiman, Lokman Aslam and Bihzhu. “We have hip-hop, we have EDM, we have folksy indie music and then there’s us [The Guerzos] which is more jazz rock. That was the whole idea, to have a diverse group of musicians.” In his lifetime, Soliano himself worked with a variety of musicians and genres – from grand orchestras to small bands playing in nightclubs and dance halls. According to musical historian Saidah Rastam, his compositions of off-beat jazz (or bebop) were at first baffling to KL’s audiences, but soon caught on. He was multi-talented: incredibly fluent in traditional Malay music styles like bangsawan, while also being able to interpret these for a symphonic orchestra. For Soliano, music was in his blood. In colonial Malaya, the British couldn’t find enough musicians who knew Western styles of music. So at the turn of the century, 64 musicians were brought over from the Philippines – somewhat ironically – to start a state band for Selangor. Soliano’s father was one of these Filipino musicians, and he settled in Malaya and started a family. Alfonso was born in Singapore in 1925 as the youngest of 17 children. Many of the family became respected musicians of their time and frequently performed together as jazz music grew in popularity. “Jazz was so prominent then, it was kind of like the music of the day. It’s kind of like what hip-hop is now. It was the contemporary music of the 50s,” says Rachel, who today performs with two of her brothers, Don and Dado, in The Guerzos. At just age seven, Alfonso Soliano – known as Nonong to his family – started performing around the country in a touring troupe. As he grew up, his career took him from colonial Malaya, through the Japanese occupation and into independent Malaya. But in his prime, he was forced to leave the very land that he called home. In the 1960’s, critical voices pressured Soliano to resign from Radio Malaya, where he was a full time conductor and arranger for the orchestra. According to Saidah Rastam’s research, this criticism was partly motivated by Soliano’s religion (he was not Muslim) and the Western influence of his music. Soliano ended up moving to Bangkok for several years, but his pride was wounded to the point that he refused to return to collect an AMN award in 1966. It was only in 1973 that Soliano was persuaded to return to Malaysia to work for RTM. However, his health soon started to deteriorate and he retired after suffering a stroke. Rachel herself was with her grandfather when he died." | |

| Search | Add | 5 | XR66 | Technical death/groove metal band from Kaliningrad, Russia. Started by Anatoliy Smychkov as a continuation of [a=X-Rated 6ex6ex6ex] and [a=Exrated] originally as a solo project in January 2018, later that year expanded to the full band. XR66 takes its roots in 2006 when it was a death metal band called X-Rated 6ex6ex6ex which has released one album "Woodland Belt [Deadly Trap]" but split up during the recording of the second one. Only one man was left - their vocalist Anatoly, who gathered a new recording line up & finished the second album called "SOS" & renamed band to Exrated. But the band couldn't move forward because drummer Oscar Nilsson was from Sweden and it was impossible to rehearse due to geographical separation. The new story of the band began in 2016. At that time Anatoly had joined a local rock band to fill in a role of a bass player. So rock band set off to the Hertz Studio at the beginning of autumn. There was something in the air and Anatoly got an idea to continue the story of X-Rated with a slightly different name and concept. The new band took best ideas from the old songs and started creating new ones. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Solki | Solki are Serena Altavilla (the voice + guitar), Lorenzo Maffucci (turquoise guitar) and Alessandro Gambassi (kick, snare & hi-hat). The band members started the band together after playing hundreds of shows with other acts such as Blue Willa and Topsy The Great, with whom they’ve been hitting clubs and festivals such as Primavera Sound (ES), Reeperbahn (D), Elevate (A), Monkey Week (ES). Their music has been described as both fierce and dreamy, sensuous and warm, with strong melodies hidden behind a textile of dissonances and vice versa. Playing together in the China-tinged outskirts of Prato - dubbed “the Italian Manchester” - since 2014, Solki released their first album “Sleeper Grele” in October 2014, also debuting the underground label Ibexhouse. The album was tracked down on a single afternoon in the late summer with cheap mikes and a four-track tape recorder. After an early run of CD-Rs and cassettes, the album was reprinted on 12'' vinyl by the label Ibexhouse cooperating with Swiss DIY label Sacred Hood and Italian fellows Santa Valvola, nevrosi and Astio Collettivo. | |

In 1979, Merzi became the first entertainer in Australia to be recognized for his contribution to music and the wider industry with an Order of Australia Medal. His output was prodigious. Throughout his career, Merzi played solo, quintet and big-band performances including at Sydney’s Trocadero and glamorous night clubs Romano’s Chequers and Prince’s. He played in concerts and charity functions as well as private parties for the rich and famous. He recorded soundtracks for advertising jingles and five vinyl albums with Phillips and Festival records. In the 90s, he travelled regularly to the US as a guest artist at the American Accordion Association, the internationally recognized pinnacle of this genre of music. Merzi passed away May 31, 2020. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Psy Goose | Rafael Marques | Psychedelic trance / FullOn Night DJ producer based in Viseu, Portugal Born 18th september 1991, his connection to music began very early specially with electronic music thanks to his uncle that was a deejay. The most psychedelic sounds were the ones he liked more. After a friend listened to one of his mixes he started to become encouraged. A couple of years later his passion for psychedelic music just pumped up and he started to dedicate himself to this way of life. Because he liked trance so much he just learned alone the deejaying art and, then he started to mix live. Nowdays his main references are: Brainwash, X-avenger, Conscious Chaos, X-side, Stereopanic, Frozen Ghost, Critical Mass, Tantrum and so on…We may say that PsyGoose is extremely electric and has his own style. His sets are very rhythmic. Hot grooves, nice taste and loads of energy. Always improving! |

| Search | Add | 5 | The Verzerrer Schnitzel | THE VERZERRER SCHNITZEL WAS A SCHRAMMEL ROCK QUARTET, FOUNDED IN HILDESHEIM, GERMANY. THE FOUR GUYS RELEASED FOUR ALBUMS BETWEEN 2003-2007. By local accounts these german guys were the second most popular band within the of the big city triangle around Hannover in the early 2000s. Formed in Hildesheim, Niedersachsen, The Verzerrer Schnitzel were a very big deal locally, and not as a teeny bop pretty boys or pop icons, either. The Schnitzels won lots of band battles against rival groups with their Hamburger-School-sound. Eric Lindberg of the Shopmouse remembers the Schnitzels circa 2004. By that time Shopmouse were already the biggest thing going in the nothern states. „The Verzerrer Schnitzel weren't like any of the other club bands in our area at that time“ says Eric. „They weren't funny and they didn't have the steps and routines. But they were really loud and aggressive, and pretty much ahead of their time. Gernot Wöltjen agrees. „A lot of the groups at that time were more into the love songs and pretty notes and we were more into the energy“, says Gernot. Reporters who tried to interview the band often lamented that they „don't care“. Oh - but they did! They cared about their music, they cared about their fans, the people who appreciate their music. But above all, they are honest to the point of insult. When asked to produce a track that they considered „a pretty song“, their answer was simply „No! This is our music, you either like it or you won't“. The Verzerrer Schnitzel split up in 2007 after inking a deal with a major label and you can bet some square producer wound've commanded the guys to tone down their paint-peelin' scorch. -Ron Butterfield- Line-up (2003-2006): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox, bass Simon Begemann - drums Line-up (2007): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox Simon Begemann - drums Sebastian Jüngel - bass | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Nilg | Nilg was formed in 1991 in the soft area of Cologne. Coming from role models in Psychedelic Rock and Krautrock (especially Can, Queen, Herb Alpert), they have incorporated a whole range of influences into their playing over the years, from jazz and dub to electronic music to different types of so-called "ethnic" music (Stockhausen, Kuti, Gainsbourg etc.). This stylistic hodgepodge forms the fundus of musical forms that are repeatedly recombined in rhythmic improvisations, sound collages and the occasional song. That can be summed up as follows: "electronic music - hand-played" - not in the sense of the wax figure-like perfection of many post-rock bands, but as self-organizing, grooving chaos. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Garsokatastrofa | Garsokatastrofa was started as a one-man noise project by Tomas (Thromb) in 2006. Same year a split cassette tape with Xtro was released. In January 2007 Tomas and his friend Ženka recorded 11 harsh noise tracks album called "Techno Is Dead". It became the second Garsokatastrofa album and gained some worldwide popularity after it was released on "Smell The Stench" net-label (although 2 tracks on the net-release were excluded from original 11 tracks album). Same year Daniil joined the forces and some material was recorded, but nothing was released except a short excerpt of "Orgasm Of Pain" that was released on the "Smell The Stench" net-compilation. Garsokatastrofa wasn't active until Autumn 2009. In September Tomas and Daniil recorded some new material and in October Tomas together with Ženka also recorded some new stuff and it became the third album called "Psychotherapy". After a few months in March 2010 Tomas and Daniil recorded and released fourth and last Garsokatastrofa album called "Deconstruction". Tomas decided to continue on his own as Thromb. No further recordings of Garsokatastrofa were made. | |
