Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Prior releases include 1995's Superlux Records "Happiness Is A One Trick Pony/Crying Is Shaped Like A Seahorse", 2000's Crank Automotive "They Must be Clapping For...Me", and 2006’s 2 self-released albums "Narrow Miss On The Chamber Pot" and "/....//../..//” (pronounced, “Grey Goose & a Whole Lotta Hydro”). Search Add 5 D.Bace 디베이스 D. Bace was a South Korean pop, pop rap group. The group was produced by South Korean rapper D.O (Lee Hyun-do). The group consisted of five members at first; Jed, Kim Hwan-ho, Oh Su-an, Song Ji-hoon, and Nam Hyun-jun. After their first album, the group took a hiatus and returned with a second album in 2003, which would be the last album that all five members would perform together as a group. Many of the other members left the group to focus on their own career or different projects, while Ji-hoon and Hwan-ho stayed. In turn, it led the group to drop down to a duo. Jed however, did come back to perform on the last two singles by D.Bace to date. They officially disbanded in 2018. In 2001, D.Bace were nominated the New Artist of the Year Award, at the KMTV Song Awards.

Search Add 5 Martin van Maële Maurice François Alfred Martin van Miële Maurice Martin van Miële (12 October 1863, Boulogne-Billancourt — 5 September 1926, Varennes-Jarcy), professionally known as Martin van Maële, was a French illustrator, particularly notable for his explicit and exacerbated drawings for erotic literature. He extensively collaborated with Charles Carrington in Paris, a leading erotica publisher, illustrating books by [a=Anatole France], [a=Paul Verlaine]'s La Trilogie érotique, and Apulée's L'Âne d'or. Maële created art for other antique and Renaissance authors, like [a=Ovid], [a=François Beroalde De Verville], [a=Pierre Choderlos de Laclos], and [a=Denis Diderot], and his contemporaries, including [a648094] under the "Sadinet" pseudonym, [a=Charles Baudelaire]'s pioneering French translations of [a=Edgar Allan Poe], or Aventures Extraordinaires by [a=Sir Arthur Conan Doyle]. Since many of Martin van Maële's works depict minors, partially or fully naked and engaged in frivolous activities, his name regularly comes up in contemporary discussions about the legal and moral status of virtual depictions of nude minors, particularly historically or artistically significant images. In April 2010, one of [a=Wikipedia]'s co-founders, Larry Sanger, published his letter to the FBI, accusing [a=Wikimedia Commons] of hosting "child pornography;" he specifically chose a selection of Maële's graphics and "Lolicon" category as two glaring examples.

Search Add 5 Chris Chalfant Chris Chalfant, born September 10, 1960, Akron, OH; Composer, director, pianist, vocalist, artist, author, and poet; Noted for her unique style as a creative artist, Chris Chalfant is a lyrical, rhythmically compelling, and powerful, innovative driving force in the world of jazz, new and improvised music. Her prolific output of composition and improvisation (over 400 works) draws largely from traditional music of Africa, Hungary and India, as well as from American folk music, jazz and classical music. Critics have compared her music and playing to a wide range of artists: Andrew Hill, Charles Ives, McCoy Tyner, Mal Waldron, Cecil Taylor, Bud Powell, Stravinsky, Don Pullen, Keith Jarrett, Webern, Meredith Monk, Thelonious Monk and a Buddhist monk. She draws from nature, poetry and dance with a strong sense of counterpoint and polyrhythm, resulting in non-ordinary phrasings, tonal structures and rhythmic layerings. Her work is both simple and complex at the same time, where she will take a simple children’s tune and create an expressionistic multi-tonal, multi-rhythmic contrapuntal composition or improvisation. Chalfant has a strong melodic sense as well as a feeling of tranquility in much of her work. Her keen sense of moment-to-moment movement in her composition and improvisation is supported by her training in Buddhism and Aikido, where “living under the blade” results in an unshakable fearlessness, confidence and a path of truth.

Later, he sang in Breslau and Hamburg. Goritz then received a contract with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, where he performed in 25 operas (mostly German, 1 Italian) between 1903 and 1917, including the leading Wagnerian baritone roles. His greatest success was as Beckmesser in Wagner's "Meistersinger." When the United States joined World War I, the opera stopped performing its German repertory. Goritz was forced to resign, not least because of a rumor that he had sung a parodic song on the sinking of the RMS "Lusitania" at a private party on New Year's Eve 1916. He remained, however, in the United States. In 1919, after the war had ended, Goritz founded the Star Opera Company. The company tried to perform at the Lexington Opera House in German, but a riot on opening night and protests by the American Legion forced it to disband. In 1920 Goritz returned to Hamburg, where he continued to sing at the State Opera House.

Search Add 5 Rebelhot rebelHot is a 4 piece band absolutely soaked in rootsy 70’s Rock influences. A mix of rock, blues, and funk you can’t miss. Since releasing their debut album back in 2016, featuring Jason Patterson from Cry of Love as special guest and mastered by Alessadro Del Vecchio, rebelHot have already toured and also played at festivals around Europe with artists like Y&T, The Darkness, Joe Lynn Turner, The Quireboys, Autograph, Skinny molly and many others. Their long awaited new album “Uncomfortableness” will be released worldwide on October the 12th 2018 via Metalapolis records and will feature 10 brand new songs plus an exclusive bonus track on the Vinyl edition. “Uncomfortableness” has been produced by rebelHot, recorded, mixed and mastered at their own P-Rose Studio by guitarist Paul Mainetti. The band recorded the majority of the album live directly in the studio mixing console and they’re very proud of this rough old style result. No digital effects or overdubs were used and it sounds live just like the 70s albums you're used to. The new album has been enriched with some bluesy sounds like harmonica and female choirs in a few songs, while still maintaining that funky power and those Southern sounds typical of the band.

After the disagreements he had with Vasallo and Erentxun for the name of the band, he embarks on Emirra composing and putting the voice for a single album that bears the title of "Agua y Barro" (Water and Mud).
