Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Josh Dahlberg | Josh Dahlberg | In 2012, veteran Detroit producer and DJ Josh Dahlberg quietly shuttered his Blank Artists imprint to write music secretly as The Valley and the Mountain (abbr. TVTM). He’s since released a series of records alongside artists like Gerald Donald, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, and Optimo. As TVTM, Dahlberg explores the tension between nature and technology, drawing upon broad influences to create works ranging from ambient textures to moody dance floor grooves. Known as a versatile, albeit reclusive, DJ and producer Dahlberg continues to explore the vastness of experimental electronic music while honoring his house and techno roots. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Dynaminds | Band description from an i94 Review: The Dynaminds Real Rock and Roll is alive and well and living in relative obscurity in Europe. Happily, it seems. It doesn't matter who listens to the radio - that medium, for the most part, lost any semblance of intelligence (musically speaking) in the late '70s when centralised playlists and other economies of scale kicked in. The smart people are grabbing their Rock Action wherever they can find it and here's another example, all the way from Bitburg in Germany. In the case of The Dynaminds, it's like a little bit of the Murder City was relocated to Deutschland, fed copious amounts of Pilsener and sausage and sent into the Black Forest to terrorise the populace. Thinking about it, inflicting the Flying Dutchman - aka Tony Slug of the Nitwitz and the Hydromatics - onto these guys as producer probably had the same effect. I'm sure the band must have developed thick hides by the end of the session 'cos the Slug is known to direct his stinging wit in the direction of most nationalities, but Germans especially. Listen hard enough and you'll hear a neat slice of Sonic's Rendezvous Band's "Dangerous" riffage (also a signature song for the Hydros) in the guest Slug guitar on "By All Means", which is a stellar moment on a great album. You know what to expect but it's done extremely well. Sluggo's production is superb too, with guitars bristling away atop a mammoth-sounding bottom end. Dr Rock is the guy on four-strings and much kudos to him. Da Man can play and even leads the way on "Hazy Hands". The Dynaminds namecheck SRB, the Five, Birdman, the Who and the Stooges in their bio and music. It doesn't take a genius to work out where they've applied those cues and you'll revel in Pick The Influence, if you're into that sort of thing. It actually takes about 30 seconds for the goodness of this record to kick in. I'm talkin' 'bout the first song, "Riding High", where a bitching backbeat and barroom piano slide over the top of a big fat bottom end and Van Boogie's soulful vocal. Mix in those guitars, courtesy of Sgt Famous and Smokey Lonesome, and you've got yourself a pro forma for a rockin' great time. Comes to the second tune, "Love Affair", and you'd swear these guitarists had been taking lessons from Nick Royale, Dr Tek and Klondike (like that's a bad thing?) "Bill Leavin" might be the centrepiece, with its tough, gritty feel and extended guitar call and response work-out. The single "Dangerous Blue", was a tour de force with its chunky guitars and smooth organ trimmings and it's here for your digital enjoyment, sounding like a Hydromatics song. There's a whole lot to like about The Dynaminds and if they recall a host of all-too-obvious influences, well that's fine 'cos you'll know what you're in for. Expect no fresh frontiers to be broken, but a flag is flown for the right sort of rock and roll. The album's even dedicated to Sonic Smith. A no risk investment. Longplayer „Tunes from the dusky dirtzone“ veroeffentlicht. Nach zahlreichen Gigs quer durch die Republik werden die Jungs gehandelt als „Dreckiger als die Monochords, frischer als die Hellacopters und cooler als Jet“ (www.actionrock.de). Momentan wird am 2. Album gearbeitet, das von Paul Smith (Dumbell) und Tony Slug (The Hydromatics, Nitwitz) produziert wird. Mehr Infos zur Band findet Ihr auf www.thedynaminds.com.

Search | Add | 5 | Prosevere | Alternative rock / metal band from Memphis, TN, USA. Prosevere's roots were planted in October of 2006. [a8822203] (vocals) and [a8822200] (guitar) were left in a difficult position when the bass player and drummer, in their previous group, left to start a new project with several shows still to be played on a regional tour. After numerous tryouts with some of the Mid-south's finest musicians, [a8822206] (drums) and [a8822209] (bass) proved to be the perfect fit to help finish the band's remaining tour schedule. Once the initial run of dates ended, the foursome realized that the group had taken on a new life. With this newfound energy, the band decided that a new beginning was necessary. The name of the band was changed, and new songs were written; the old ones being put on the backburner to make room for new blood. The group started over from scratch.

Search | Add | 5 | Bunker13 | Bunker 13 | Bend „Bunker 13”, nastao je aprila, 2016.god. svira alternativni Punk-R’N’R’ sa notom grunge-a, propraćeno iskrenom emocijom i energijom garažnog benda. Kroz svoje nastajanje bend se gradio kroz uticaje bendova i autora kao što su Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, Jimi Hendrix, The Cult, Placebo, Pearl Jam, Allman Brothers Band, Jetro Tull, Halestorm, Jet, Nirvana, Radiohead, Pantera, Sex Pistols, KUD IDijoti, Goblini, Partibrejkers, Džukele, Sham 69, Anti Nowhere League, Buzzcocks, Dead Kennedys, i sl. Bend radi autorsku muziku. U avgustu, 2016. godine, ulaze u studio "Komandant Adam" u Sremskoj Kamenici i snimaju svoj prvi demo singl pod nazivom "Kome da kažem NE?!". |

Educated, eloquent and with a distinctive style of speaking, Zahn soon became a fixture at the station of the Allied military government, which continued to exist from September 30, 1945 as NWDR (Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk) and was converted into an independent broadcaster from January 1, 1948. When the NWDR was split into NDR and WDR in 1956, from then on, Zahn stood for continuity and quality at the northern German broadcaster. In 1951 he took the plunge across the pond and became a pioneer in foreign reporting in the United States. His 15-minute radio show "From the New World" explains the German society and politics of the occupying power. From 1955 onwards, the same format led to success on television. Von Zahn left NDR in 1961 and founded his own production company, Windrose Film- und Fernsehproduktions-GmbH. His reports were shown in WDR, among others, which developed the "Weltspiegel" („mirror of the world“) series from the format.

Search | Add | 5 | The Fabulous Georgia Soul Twisters | The Georgia Soul Twisters started out in the early '60s and were originally based out of Lyons, GA. They were led by Mose Braziel, nicknamed “Pop” who was the owner and manager. A 10 member touring band, they travelled and played all of the southern states. Pop passed away in 1969 and the band recorded their third and final recording at a small central Florida recording studio some time in the very early '70s. 'Look Out (I'm Gonna Blow Your Mind)' b/w 'Mother Duck' was self-financed and self-released, and poor distribution means the record remains extremely elusive to this day. They continued to play into the late '70s but as members would drop out, get married and replacements became harder to recruit, they finally decided to part ways once and for all.

Search | Add | 5 | Jack Whitescarver | “All I want to do is eat meat,” says Jack Whitescarver, a self-described "really bad vegetarian." This ever-returning impulse to desire something outside the bounds of convention is something that has proven to be the distinguishing feature of Whitescarver’s musical work, as both songwriting and timbre have proven remarkably less steady over his years making music. Born in Virginia and raised in Connecticut, this 23 year old artist did not grow up listening to your standard city kid bangers like Jenny from the Block. In fact, Jack couldn’t have started any further from the proverbial block, rather developing a fondness for the supremely weird shit like Irish dancing and medieval chorus music. Naturally, during his teenage years, Whitescarver joined the top 40 pop bandwagon, and it is here within the marvelous intersection of the mainstream and the profoundly bizarre where this artist operates. So, when asked to describe his sound in three words, Whitescarver rattled off with little hesitation, “sexy, pastoral, and clown” (three words with about as much of a connection as hair, soy sauce, and fig newton). But perhaps the beauty of these three words appearing in sequence lies not in the blatancy of their connection but in the degree of their qualitative difference. A magical blending of everything rather than a monotonous casserole of the same thing. Whitescarver never actually studied music within an academic framework, instead graduating from Bard College having majored in studio arts. This background is inextricable from his persona as a performing artist. Vulnerability, theatricality, letting your “cool” go, all aspects that can be traced in his art, can equally be identified in his stage presence. One truly gets sense that his songs were meant to be performed. His campiness is authentic, raw, and genuinely enjoyable. His interest in pop stemmed from this proclivity for the dramatic, for narratives laced with tension condensed into a short snippets with the intention of being more accessible to a larger audience. But Whitescarver contends that it is only when you play with this tension in different ways, supplementing the narrative with layers of dissonance, tomfoolery, and willingness to explore outside of the existing bounds, only then will you hit “the sweet spot”. ___ “Less concerned with pushing the proverbial envelope of that new new than with forging an authentic identity that translates seamlessly to his music, Whitescarver is somewhat of a modern musical oddity.” -Kennedy Fairfax for Office Magazine

Songs were recorded with one member on tape loops, the other on vocals. Instrumental elements of songs from the 80s and 90s were looped, and vocals were overdubbed. Lyrics were typically not written, but ad-libbed. Joan Marie Polo recorded four tapes between 1994 and 1995. In 2000 a CD was made, The Love & Affection I Used to Have, which compiled a selection of songs from all four tapes (mostly from 1994’s Zig Death). The compilation CD wound up in the hands of Irwin Chusid who played JMP on WFMU. Additional songs were made available through MySpace. In 2005 The Love & Affection I Used to Have was made available as a CD-r and MP3.

Search | Add | 5 | FR' Mystery | Gwarn Music | [a=Tony Henry] was originally going to keep the [a=52nd Street] name active and carry on releasing music under the heading. [a=Lorna Bailey] a music graduate from Birmingham but studying at Manchester University joined him in 1990. After a dormant year at Virgin\10, they finally released Henry from his contract and allowed him to take the [a=52nd Street] name. [a=Cool Down Zone] were still in that period signed to the label. Henry and Bailey worked on songs for almost a year. The sound and direction they created was more akin to gospel tinged Nubian Soul. The two standout tracks 'I Just Wanna Be' and 'Somebody's Gonna Get Hurt' got the attention in 1991 of A&R Director Pete Edge at WEA Records UK. In order not to cause confusion between the two acts, as Henry remained close friends with his former band mates and would invite both [a=Tony Bowry] and [a=Mike Wilson] to play on various tracks, a decision was made to retire the 52nd Street name and thus [a=FR' Mystery] was born. Whilst discussions at WEA were progressing, Edge was offered a major position in New York which he took with immediate affect. Edge suggested that FR' Mystery did the deal with him in New York but Bailey still had a year and a half at university and Henry had just returned from living in LA, recording (in his words) a terrible third 52nd Street album. Henry decided to take FR' Mystery down the independent route instead. With financial help from the band's music publishers Virgin Music, Tony Henry formed record label Gwarn Music in 1991. In 1994 he was invited to bring the label to New Order manager [a=Rob Gretton]'s Rob's Records for distribution. Gretton had invited 52nd Street to come to Factory Records in 1982. |

Her parents were Irish immigrants Richard and Mary Cahill. She had an older brother named Richard. Both her father and brother ran a brush making business. Marie began her career in the late 1880s first in her native Brooklyn and then on Broadway. In 1902 in the show Sally In Our Alley she introduced the song "Under The Bamboo Tree" which became her signature song and one of the most famous songs from the turn of the century. Also in 1902 in the musical "The Wild Rose" she premiered another hit song "Nancy Brown". In 1903 the popularity of the "Nancy Brown" song was expanded into its own musical for Cahill, and became her favorite role. Search | Add | 5 | OPTMS | OPTMS is a producer/DJ based in Germany with his roots in southeast Europe. Growing up in Bremen (Germany), his musical journey began in 1998 with playing drums and getting into music production on DAW. Inspired by ISP, he purchased his first turntable and mixer in 1999 and started with Turntablism. After 5 years of bedroom deejaying, making a few mixtapes under different monikers and establishing his DJ crew „Table Thugs“ w/ Addict, EVL NDL and Julius Holtz, it was time to get a serious DJ name. While grubbing on the attic, he found an old action figure from his childhood, the rest is history. In 2004 he entered his first DJ-Competition in Berlin, where he took the 3rd place. The same year he had the chance to participate at the world-famous I.T.F. DJ-Battle, held in Hamburg. Stats: 2004: Kurt Lade Klub DJ-Battle Berlin / 3rd place. 2004: I.T.F. Hamburg Heats / 4th place. 2004: I.T.F. German Finals Scratch Category / 6th place. 2005: I.T.F. Hanover Heats / 3rd place. 2009: Wizard of Ahh #3 / 3rd place. 2010: Red Bull "Hit the Wax" / 2nd place. Between 2002 and 2010 he produced a vast heap of beats with a deep passion for banging drums, groan synths, and raffish samples, but never released anything until 2010. In 2011, the small French label Vaatican Records (i.a. 1000names, Vlooper) re-released his Electro-Cution EP, followed by his Digital Cocadisco EP, released by Italian label Pitjamajusto (i.a. Digi). At the end of 2011, OPTMS moved to Munich. He came in touch with beatsmiths like Jay Scarlett, DJ Explizit & Sepalot, who gave him the opportunity to perform his music live and brought massive support on radio plays, etc. He released more music via miscellaneous labels such as Munich based Gold Diggers Records by Felix Kirner (Pho Queue), Fwonk* (UK) & Subwise (Russia, i.a. 813) Over the years he supported the likes of Kaytranada, Rah Digga & Afu-Ra and shared stages with Homeboy Sandman, Scntst, Alec Empire, Erobique, Blade (Marc B. & Blade), Pfel (C2C), Fatoni, Hgich.T, Tribes of Jizu, Roger Rekless, The Analog Roland Orchestra, Anton Mints, Ebow, Danny Scrilla, Krts, Taprik Sweeze, Comfort Fit, DJ Static, Marc Hype, Kid Fresh, Rafik, B-Ju, Mechatok, Al Rock, Thallus and more.

Search | Add | 5 | Frank Virtuoso | Francis F. Virtuoso | Born on January 21, 1923. He played the violin as a child and took up the guitar and the double bass as a teenager. He continued with the latter as a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra and studied orchestration at Temple University. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and became bandleader of the Regular Navy Dance Band in Bainbridge, Maryland. He was discharged in 1946 because his father, who had been diagnosed with cancer, could no longer support his family. Virtue considered putting together a big band but, due to financial constraints, assembled an amplified trio instead, with Ralph Frederico on the piano and Steve Rossi on the guitar. Virtue named the band the Virtuoso Trio after their formation in 1947. The Virtuoso Trio toured the regional club circuit for the better part of a decade, playing as far as Canada and making regular appearances on Philadelphia radio and television. They appear to have been the house band at Chubby's Cafe in West Collingswood, New Jersey in 1949 and 1950. They performed as a backup ensemble for Patti Page, Rosemary Clooney, Dick Haymes, June Christy, and others. When local Pennsylvanians Bill Haley & the Comets hit big in the mid-1950s, Virtue found a receptive audience in the teenagers who loved the nascent rock & roll craze. By this time, the group's lineup had expanded, with Virtue on the bass, John Renner on the saxophone, Jimmy Bruno on the guitar, Joe Vespe on the drums, and Dave Kaplin as an occasional vocalist. Under the name the Virtues, they released a rock reworking of Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith's country hit "Guitar Boogie" in 1958 under the title "Guitar Boogie Shuffle", on the Hunt label. The instrumental became a major hit in the U.S., peaking at #27 on the Black Singles chart and #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959. The single also became a sheet music smash, selling well worldwide. Several singles followed – "Flippin", "Boogie Woogie", "Vaya con Dios" – but none of them succeeded; the group was signed by ABC-Paramount, but their only return to the charts was with the 1962 release "Guitar Boogie Shuffle Twist" which reached #95 in the United States pop charts. Towards the end of 1962, Virtue disbanded the group and primarily pursued a career as a record producer and recording engineer. His original studio, in the basement of his house on Fayette Street, was where "Guitar Boogie Shuffle" was originally recorded. He opened a new business, [l368463], located at 1618 N. Broad St., which became one of the top studios in Philadelphia for a number of years until closing in the early 1980s. He produced and mixed (with his wife Mary Anne Virtue) groups such as "Society's Child", a top 40 band from the Wilmington, Delaware area. Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, among others, produced records at Virtue's studio before moving on to [l264049]. The song "Hey There, Lonely Girl" by Eddie Holman was produced at the studio, as were "That's Life" and "Who Stole the Keeshka?" by Gabriel & the Angels. In later years Virtue Studios was the home of a number of rap groups, including Dr. Roxx & Co. Collectables Records released a collection of Virtues instrumentals in 1993 as Guitar in Orbit.. |
