Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Przeciwziemia The Przeciwziemia band, a Polish acoustic prog-rock group, was formed in Wroclaw (capital of Lower Silesia, PL) in 2011 by Bartek Sobieraj (vocal & acoustic guitar, saz, sitar) and Konrad Koscielski (drums, hapi drum), two friends that had worked on some other artistic projects before. Soon they invited two other musicians in order to complete the sound: Przemek Banaszek (keyboards, accordion), Tomek Jaskiewicz (bass guitar) and recently Dawid Pepkowski (electric guitar). Their music is hardly describable. To grasp it quickly, Przeciwziemia is a mixture of acoustic rock with ethno, funk, grunge, jazz and who knows what else.

Search Add 2 Ambitious Vegetables Formed in late 1978 at Wellington's Rongotai College. Original line-up was: Andrew Fagan (vocals), Gary Curtis (bass), Gordon Costello (guitar) and Chas Mannell (drums). The Ambitious Vegetables were part of the original Wellington punk scene playing alongside bands like The Wallsockets, Shoes This High and The Steroids. In 1979 the band decided to strengthen their guitar sound with the inclusion of Peter Henderson who was a few years older than the rest of the group. In late 1979, Fagan left for university to be replaced on vocals by Gordon Costello. Gary Curtis left soon after this, being replaced on bass by Gordon's brother Murray. By the end of 1979 the band split. Henderson and the Costello Brothers formed The Red, while drummer, Chas, joined with Fagan and Curtis to form well-known Kiwi pop band, The Mockers.

Search Add 2 Ryan Michael Vego Ryan Michael Vego Musician and artist from Seattle, Washington, Ryan Michael Vego was a prolific artist, and played in several bands including [a= Sister Psychic]. Vego fronted his own band as well as playing drums in the alternative rock group Sister Psychic from around 1991 to 1994. He worked on [m=1466813] and [m=629381], before leaving, somewhere presumably in 95' or 96' as being replaced or not involved as much with Sister Psychic In 2021, to mourn his still very affecting loss, there was a bandcamp put up, showing off a re-release of [r=26850992]. It was an album release completed just months before he took his life. This is where [a=Andy Davenhall] would pick up after his songs in 2000-2002, for his tribute band to Sister Psychic & Vego, [a=The Lawnmowers (4)]. Ryan suffered from Crohn's disease, alcoholism and depression. He lost his courageous battle with his demons in March 2000. Born on November 17, 1967 and died in Seattle on March 20, 2000, age 32, by 2023, he would be 53. Rest in Peace, Ryan Vego.

Search Add 2 Giant Not Giant Band Members HENRY FRENCH: bass MATT PRICE: drums Indianapolis, IN. Record Label INDEPENDENT Biography GIANT NOT GIANT started as a challenge. For Henry, lead writer and bassist, the challenge was to play and write without guitar (his primary instrument for more than 20 years), and skewing to bass, which meant simplifying the songwriting, and focusing on single-note riffs, as well as a host of effect pedals. For Matt, the challenge was taking on a larger voice in the orchestration, and applying his skills towards new areas of musical collaboration. Within 2 months, the duo had a short set worth of original tunes ready to go; songs that are steeped in the kind of power rock we are used to seeing from Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Death from Above, Royal Blood and others. The duo continue to write and expect to be a part of the impending resurgence of riff-driven rock and roll which is surely on the horizon. Search Add 2 Manuel Melico Salazar Manuel Salazar Manuel Maria Daniel Francisco de Paula Salazar Zuniga. Luckily for us, the baby that was baptized with this incredibly long name is currently known as Melico Salazar. Melico is the most renown Costa Rican artist of all times. He was born in January 3, 1887, son of Nazorio Salazar and of Rafaela Zuniga. His house was located only a block away from the National Theater, which is why he’s said to have been born under the awnings of the theater. In 1896 his family moved to Cartago, where they stayed for fourteen years. Melico had a prodigious talent for singing, and he took the train into San Jose every week in order to participate in the rehearsals of the choir in the Colegio Seminario. The young boy then enrolled in the Escuela Santa Cecilia de Musica, which was inaugurated in 1894 in order to replace the Escuela Nacional de Musica. The Santa Cecilia school boasted amazing professors and artists, such as Melico’s mentor, Joaquin Vargas Calvo. Salazar’s talent was so apparent to his teachers that they encouraged him to sing in several places and for many occasions. The first written praises of the young artist appeared in the newspaper “La Aurora” on december, 1904: “There has been a great revelation tonight for the audience. Seventeen year-old Tenor Manuel Salazar. His voice is potent and solid, worthy of all praise”. After this and many other favorable reviews, Salazar’s local fame expanded, taking him to all of the provinces to perform in churches and schools. This young artist’s career wasn’t meant to be limited to national praise, though. On February 6, 1907, twenty year-old Salazar traveled to Italy with a meager $84 in his pocket. Here he stayed in Milan, where he studied with important teachers such as Castegnaro and Conrado. After studying with Gala Moretti in 1911, his international triumphs began. In 1914 he met and married his wife, Angiolina Viassone Cantero, from Turin. Angiolina or Lina as he called her, was introduced to Melico by another singer and she became her husband’s most ardent supporter. In theaters where nobody was allowed to remain backtsage, Lina would stand or sit through her husband’s performance and hold a pitcher of coffee that he drank during breaks. During the 1910’s and 1920’s his international presentations increased, as did his fame and recognition. Salazar traveled with his wife and members of different operas to Cuba, Central America, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and North American cities. He also visited European cities such as Barcelona, Moscow, Leningrad, Riga and Berlin. Among Salazar’s legendary performances are: the Inauguration of the Rodak theater in Rochester in 1922, his debut in the Metropolitan Opera of New York in 1924, and his participation in the Aida Opera performed in the Polo Ground in 1937. In 1937 Salazar was ready to return to Costa Rica. Melico Salazar’s brilliant career was at its apogee or greatest height from 1917 to 1930. In 1940 however, the great tenor hardly performed, except for very special occasions and upon the request of important figures. Fortunately for Costa Rica and for all of its aspiring young singers, the National Conservatory was founded in 1941. Melico Salazar, who was and still is Costa Rica’s greatest singer was stepping down, but new talents were rising , due mostly to the Conservatory’s opening. In 1947, Melico Salazar announced his support to President Calderon Guardia, but since the latter lost in the Civil War of 1948, this cost the artist dearly. His pension was suspended by the Figueres government and Salazar wasn’t supported economically or morally until many years later. After returning to San Jose (he had been living in Cartago), Melico Salazar Zuniga, the greatest Costa Rican singer of all times, died in poverty on August 6, 1950. The man who had received innumerable applause and praise in theaters from all over the world, wasn’t appropriately honored by the Costa Rican government until 1972, when a statue of his was inaugurated in Cartago. Later, in 1979, a project was passed in order to name the old Teatro Raventos, Teatro Melico Salazar, a name which it still holds today. As is the case with most great artists, Melico had to wait until after his death to be remembered and to be immortalized. - http://www.infocostarica.com/people/melico.html Chronology of some appearances Madame Butterfly- Los Angeles. At a very young age, he learned the basics of the guitar and began singing, first for his cousins and neighbors, then at small local private parties and weddings. Skillfully artist, he mixes all Moroccan styles and Algerians influences, whether modern or traditional, in order to create a unique genre that belongs only to him. Bakr also enjoys covering classic songs by artists, such as “Lala Maryama” by Cheb Douzi, “Al Horm ya rassoul lah” by Malhoune or even “Wedi Hay Wedi” by Cheb Khaled. Although today living in Belgium, Bakr nonetheless remains an important figure in Moroccan musical life, of which he is undoubtedly one of the best representatives.

Search Add 2 Metrical Charms Metrical Charms was the successor of the Thrash metal band Necromancy, which was based in Werl, Germany. It is not quite clear who was part of the project at an early stage, but it is sure that Oliver Britten (bass, vocals) and Spinne (guitars) were the remaining original members from 1990 onwards. After Greg Keller (vocals) and Wilko Frenzel (drums) had joined the band, the name was changed to Metrical Charms. In 1993 Britten left the band and Börk Keller took over the bass. Later that year, Gerold Kukulenz joined the band as a keyboard player. The line up changed again in 1994 and subsequently featured Natalie Lübke (keyboards), Boris Wortmann (drums), Börk Keller (bass) and Dirk "Duff" Goding (guitars). Metrical Charms split up in 1995.

Search Add 2 Lj Ugarte Lj Ugarte LJ Ugarte is an American Actor,Singer,Songwriter,Producer and Humanitarian Award Winner. born January 6th, 1981 in Brooklyn, New York. Captivated by the Arts from the early age of five, LJ began singing, taking dance and acting classes. His skill and talent developed over the years fueled by taking ballet. During his admittance into the Ballet Hispanico Dance Company, he was able to master the arts, even more, enjoying every moment. He embraced every opportunity to develop and diversify his love for arts within the entertainment field. This was a wonderful time for LJ. His family later moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1997 Lj attended Palm Beach Lakes High school where he vigorously continued to study Acting. He excelled as an Actor both on stage and in front of the Camera using Sanford Meisner’s master technique. In addition, he continued his study of dance and in his senior year he had the chance to perform for the Florida Stage company in the production of “Gun play”. LJ later attended Keiser college in the study of computer graphic designing and imaging, between college he was working on starting his music career as a vocalist and songwriter the following college he began concentrating on his skills performing professionally at large venues with local artists at various nightclubs throughout the United States and Canada. He is currently in the process of writing and producing his own music with an eye toward much success within the mainstream of the Music industry. With his 90’s and millennium R&B moves and his braided hair vibe, LJ Ugarte's debut single wore its old school on its sleeve. In the course of two singles, LJ has vaulted from wanting to re-create the mood of the vintage soul to wanting to make his own combination of Maxwell and Eric Benet These two singles mark the return of the retro-soul movement that began taking shape several years ago. LJ is aiming to return the soul to a headier, more opulent era. Some new Hip Hop and R&B artist revel in a sometimes brazen, sometimes vulgar fusion of hip-hop and old-school-soul pleading.
