Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | HEDONIKA | Origin: Poznan, wielkopolskie, Poland Genres: rock, blues, alternative Years active: 2013 - Final lineup: Wojtek Badowski - lead vocals; Kamil Słodkiewicz - guitars; Jacek Chlebowski - bass; Krzysztof Płóciennik - sampler, trumpet; Piotr Marcinkowski - drums Hedonika is a musical and theatrical narrative that combines real stories. Something we know from autopsy, something our friends say something that listeners come to us with. From these stories we create an image of our way of life, our relationships with other people, priorities and aspirations. We do not change the world. We simply report, giving rise to a discussion about a man. In Hedonika's musical tales, as important as WORD, MUSIC and INTERPRETATION, is DIALOG with listeners. We know that each meeting brings with it a great value of interaction. We all use this wealth, and Hedonika's concerts usually become an original, unique, engaging and inspiring CONVERSATION. That is why we are the most pleased to appear in places conducive to close contact with listeners and viewers. Theater scenes, small clubs, atmospheric landscapes and even home performances for a small audience - each performance is a new experience for us, another part of the narrative puzzle. Hedonica's music derives directly from the mainstream of the author's song. Thanks to the multitude of inspirations and the flammable mix of musical tastes of the band's members, subsequent compositions are also surprising for the creators themselves. The founder of the band and its leader, as well as the author of most of the compositions, is Wojtek Badowski (vocal). The musicians - Kamil Słodkiewicz (guitar), Jacek Chlebowski (bass), Piotr Marcinkowski (drums) and Krzysztof Płóciennik (sampler) - are actively involved in the creation of the musical and theatrical spectacle.

Search | Add | 3 | Shantykoor De Headammers | Back to the atmosphere of the nostalgic sailor life, that is the intended goal of Shantykoor “De Headammers”. This choir was founded in 1989 and is part of “Water sports association St. Nicolaasga”. The choir consists of a number of basses and tenors and is accompanied by a few accordionists. Two- or polyphonic songs are alternated by songs with solo singing (shantyman) and follow-up singing (the proper shantys). Most songs are sung in German, English and Dutch or in Pidgin-English a mixture of several languages. You will be transported back a hundred, two hundred years to the heyday of sailing with clippers and schooners and to harbor districts all over the world. During the day it was very busy there and at night the sailors wasted their hard-earned money in a short time. The crews consisted of tough tough guys from all over the world, who were recruited in the harbor bars. This is how rhythmic work songs, “shanties”, and cheerful or melancholic songs for leisure time, “forbitters”, were created, the musical ingredients of the adventurous but hard seaman's life.

Beyond his own music, Chris has performed and recorded (usually organ, piano and clavinet – but sometimes trombone, tuba or other instruments) for many stellar artists including Ani DiFranco, Joan As Police Woman, Tony Scherr, Barenaked Ladies, Ashley MacIsaac, Crash Test Dummies and Jen Chapin, among others. Brown was one of the primary singers and songwriters for the alternative rock band Bourbon Tabernacle Choir in the 1980s and 1990s and when that band broke up, he continued performing as a duo with his Bourbon bandmate Kate Fenner. Chris currently divides his time between Brooklyn, NY, and Wolfe Island, Ontario, producing albums, touring and performing solo or with many of his musical colleagues including Kate Fenner and Open Hearts Society. Chris is also a passionate and committed social justice activist and founded the Pros and Cons program volunteering at Pittsburgh Institution where he continues to run music workshops. The “inescapably honest and sincere” (Exclaim!) album Chris recorded and produced with the prisoners Postcards from the County (available as a free download) and Chris’ ongoing work with the prisoners has been acknowledged and hailed by the Toronto Star, Truthout, Examiner.com, CBC (Canada), Sirius XM Canada and many others. Chris recently produced debut albums for Suzanne Jarvie and David Corley which are both receiving international critical acclaim and is currently working on a solo album as well as projects with OHS and Kate Fenner.

Search | Add | 3 | Conspiracies | Wilfred Boateng & Ivano Poletti | Conspiracies is an Italian musical project started in 2014 following a versus track. The duo composed by BrainFuckeR and Nighez was formed thanks to the musical harmony of the two members. They unite powerful kickdrums with melodies and, influenced by other genres, they are looking to create their own style. The project was strongly supported by Frazzbass, who released the first track on the label "Noistorm". Now they seek to spread their sound producing tracks that range from frenchcore to hardcore, reggaecore and hardtechno, calling all the genres "Hardsound". Ivano Poletti (BrainFuckeR): Born in 1995, I started playing with fruity loops when I was 13 years old. I was 15 when I started to make the first tracks and now I am still producing trying to improve more and more. Wilfred Boateng (Nighez): Born in 1992, i started i started playing music at 8 years and began with drums, years later i graduated to keyboard, bassguitar and lead guitar, from 2011 i began to make electronic music. Is a world that i love and in which i hope to make the difference. |

Search | Add | 3 | The Glissando Guitar Orchestra | The glissando guitar is a technique first invented by [a=Syd Barrett] and developped by [a=Daevid Allen] who made it his trademark. Glissando involves stroking the strings with a metal rod. It’s different from using a bottleneck in that you put the metal rod on the strings and stroke the strings right there on the neck. It interacts with the harmonics of the guitar to produce a unique unearthly and angelic sound. The idea of a glissando guitar ensemble was first conceived by Gong members Daevid Allen and [a=Steve Hillage] as far back as 1974, but until 2006 there had been no performance or band with more than 2 gliss guitarists. The Gong Reunion (Gong Unconvention) in Amsterdam in 2006 was the first opportunity to make real this project. Since then, the Orchestra is still alive, uniting different guitarists from different horizons each time.

Search | Add | 3 | B. Mitchell Reed | Burton Mitchel Goldberg | He was the fastest tongue in the east —and west— a rapid-fire entertainer backed by a cacaphony of bells and horns. But he also had an alter-ego, a slow-talking, introspective personna that made him a pioneer in FM underground radio. B. Mitchell Reed, whether he talked at you or to you, remains one of the great legends of rock radio. Born Burton Mitchel Goldberg in Brooklyn, New York City, USA, on 10 June 1926, Reed originally planned a career teaching political science. But, as he admitted years later, the glamour of the radio business seemed more appealing to him than life in the classroom. Education's loss was radio's gain. After getting his radio start in Baltimore, Reed got his first major job when he landed the all-night "Birdland Jazz Show" at New York's WOR-AM. In 1957 he moved to KFWB Los Angeles and did another jazz show called "Boy On A Couch", the name deriving from the fact he was undergoing analysis at the time. On 2 January 1958, Reed became part of [a=Chuck Blore]'s legendary "Color Radio"; one of the earliest Top 40 formats. Holding down the 6-9 pm shift, he entertained southern California listeners with a high energy show that included a fast delivery, a tooting horn and cowbells. Once, he was asked why he talked so fast? His reply: "you're listening too slow". In 1963, Reed took his act to his hometown of New York and the station which most people identify him with, WMCA. Reed spent two colorful years holding down the 7-11 pm shift, further establishing himself as one of America's top radio personalities. While there, he played a major role in introducing The Beatles to the Big Apple (not that they needed any help). Reed left New York in 1965 (4000 people saw him off at the airport) and returned to KFWB in LA for the "The Wide, Wide Weird World of BMR". But music was changing, and Reed's approach changed with it. Soon the horns and bells disappeared from his show, as did the Top 40 delivery. In its place was album rock, with less (or at least more meaningful) patter and more platter. In late 1967, B. Mitchel Reed helped FM rock pioneer Tom Donahue launch KPPC-FM Pasadena serving Los Angeles, one of the first so-called "progressive rock" or "underground" stations. In early Summer 1968, Reed and Donahue provided four hours of taped album rock daily on KMET-FM Los Angeles to get the station started. By autumn of 1969, KMET-FM was 12 hours Live. By 1971, KMET would evolve into a Live 24-hour Rocker at FM 94.7 with a very strong signal. In the 1970's, the Beemer moved on to such stations as KRLA, KMET and KLOS, his legend growing and evolving just as rock music was doing the same. As LA Times columnist James Brown wrote, "he kept his mind open and his spirit free". It was in 1972 that Reed was asked to recreate his old WMCA show for Watermark Productions, which was putting together the now famous "Cruisin'" series. As legend has it, the Beemer needed 18 cups of coffee to get his energy level back to where it was in the early 1960's, when he actually did the show. Many "Cruisin'" buffs consider it one of the best —if not the best— of the series. Reed was plagued by health problems during his later years. He had a cornea transplant in 1974, but he refused to let it slow him down, even doing his show from a hospital bed. In 1978, he had successful coronary bypass surgery. In 1981, BMR became the first host of ABC's Rockline program, his first guest being [a=Joe Walsh]. His lingering heart problem overtook him, however, and he died of heart failure, aged 56, on 16 March 1983 in Malibu, California, USA. |
Search | Add | 3 | John A. Serri | John A. Serri | John A. Serri (Born January 27, 1954) is a part time composer and a full time technologist and entrepreneur located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born and raised in New York City, at an early age John was fascinated by music and started composing pieces at the age of 12 using a two octave magnus electric chord organ, as that was all his family could afford at the time. As a child and teenager Serri received some formal training through the New York City School System playing the trombone in various bands and orchestras. Only later in life did he start a serious study of music and composition. After receiving a PHD in Physics from MIT and establishing a career in High Technology, his first piano lesson was at the ripe age of 35. He advanced quickly on the classical piano and was soon playing in piano recitals for advanced pianists. However his real interest and passion was in composition using synthesizers. John was influenced by a 50 / 50 mix of Rock/ Blues (Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors) and Classical (Mozart , Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy and Rachmaninoff) resulting in his own music being an interesting mix of styles. His early compositions appear in the Albums "Reflective Atmospheres" and "Better Late Than Never" released on JMP Music. Serri's style is deliberately loose and improvizational, keeping away from formal rigid timing and conventional harmonic structures. |

Search | Add | 3 | Domas Žeromskas | Domas Žeromskas | The 23-year-old Lithuanian jazz pianist and composer has spent his early formative years on stage alongside prominent native jazz veterans. By the time he graduated high school, Domas was already a sought-after player, known for his technical versatility and soulful, eclectic taste. At the age of 18 Žeromskas released his debut album “Infinite Itinerant”, showcasing original music composed and arranged during his teenage years, some tunes dating back to 2015. Along with an abundant team of Lithuanian musicians, the album featured guest performances from Braxton Cook & Gustav Karlström. In the following years he has been recording and touring internationally with artists such as Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Gregory Tardy, Faryi Malek, Naledi Masilo, Tom Scott, and was also part of Euroradio Jazz Orchestra, hosted by WDR (Cologne, Germany). In 2021 he started the acclaimed trio with Ian Quinton Banno on bass and Héctor L. Falu Guzmán on drums. Besides serving as a first-call rhythm section at Berklee College of Music and for a handful of seasoned jazz musicians, the group did multiple residencies in Lithuania, performing festivals, teaching clinics and working with a handful of local and visiting artists. Upon graduating from Berklee, Domas recorded “Meditations on Providence and Perseverance, Vol.1”. Featuring collaborations with Gregory Groover Jr., Nadje Noordhuis, Gregory Tardy, Alexandria DeWalt and many others, the album appeared in March 2024. The pianist currently resides in Boston, pursuing his masters at the New England Conservatory. He cites Gerald Clayton, Keith Jarrett, Sullivan Fortner and Rev. James Cleveland as influences. Domas’ original music combines Post-Bop and metrically-nuanced modern jazz with Gospel/sacred music traditions and Afro-Caribbean styles. The repertoire is also enriched by modern adaptations of his native Lithuanian composers’ songbook and Baltic folklore. |

Search | Add | 3 | The Handmedowns | The Handmedown formed at the end of 1986, playing the Adelaide underground seen with other bands such as the Dust Collection, Mad Turks, Screaming Believers, etc The initial line-up was Trevor Comley on vocals & lead Guitar, Tony Dyer on vocals & rhythm Guitar, Dave Gray on bass and Jason Kilic on drums. Later in 1987 the band recorded a 6 track demo, 5 Comley tracks and 1 Dyer track. Shortly after mixing the demo Dave Gray (later to form Rocket Science) was replaced by Rohan Belton (previously of the Verge, Dust Collection, Garden Path) on bass and vocals. Prior to the final mix, Rohan added some addition vocals to a couple of tracks. These 6 tracks were later released in 2004 on Smashed Records CD - Free Set of Steak Knives, as well as the track Goodbye (Comley) being release on a compilation EP by Swedish magazine Sound Affects (final editional) in 1998. In late 1987 Tony Dyer left the band, and the 3 remaining members went on to record 6 new tracks for the EP "Back to Yourself" released on Greasy Pop Records (88). The band continued to play the Adelaide underground seen, eventually recruiting Scott Allan (also of the Dust Collection) on vocals & rhythm Guitar. The band dispanded in mid 1989. Comley, Dyer and Kilic later reformed as the Adelaide 3 piece power pop band SWERVE, which went on to release the 9 track "SWERVE" tape in 94, the 6 track CD "Let Me Out" in early 97 and a unrelease 4 track demo in 1998. Dyer then went on to join the Stoneage Hearts in 2012, Comley went on to play with the Sack with Allen, and in 2014 joined up with Allen once again for another music project. Belton started up the record label "Smashed Records" in the early 2000's, and played in various other bands including the Mynd Gardeners and the Dust Collection. Dave Gray went on to play in Melbourne band the Electric Guitars and the Freeloader. In 2012 Jason Kilic became the president of the SANFL football club "Sturt", in Adelaide.
