Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Sylvain Poitras | Sylvain Poitras | A philosopher by training, Sylvain Poitras explores circularity and self-reference in the fields of video, comics and electroacoustic music: that he uses images, words or sounds, he seeks, primarily, to blur the boundaries between the object and its designation. Software designer and trombonist, it was only natural that he invented the "meta-trombone", a sophisticated processing system which curiously leads him on a path to the origins of free jazz. From his roots as a big band trombonist, Sylvain has evolved into an experimental musician by combining his love of the trombone and his natural aptitude for computer programming. Sylvain has had an interest in comic books since childhood. After taking a few courses at l'Université du Québec en Outaouais, Sylvain's amateur efforts have found publication. His current project stretches his skills in a number of new areas including: puppet-making, miniature set building and photography. |

Search | Add | 4 | Dave Dri | David Ryan | An Australian producer and musician that founded the live electronic music act Segue, and previously a member of the live breaks act Superfluid at the time of the band's debut and subsequent tours. The experience was educational and indicative of the era, with Superfluid signing to the Creative Vibes label at the peak of the label's powers, ensuring a steady stream of radio play and high demand for both club and rave shows. The latter pulling the band further from the plunderphonic sounds of the initial album, a product of a small and collaborative community of sample-heavy producers including The Avalanches and label mates PNAU and Gotye. Superfluid would ultimately move into the harder Breaks and Nuskool Breaks sounds, switching Ryan on to the opportunity to branch out and pursue the more Acid House era sounds of an 80's child, the common influences of childhood Kraftwerk to teenage Chemical Brothers. Outside of Segue's experiences as a live electronic act, David Ryan was a guest keyboard and touring member of the bands D-KO, Silent Shadow, and Statler & Waldorf, as well as occasional solo tours, such as an unexpected invitation to perform at Exit Fest in Serbia in 2004. An unmissable opportunity that arose as a result of sampling Slavic folk songs in one of Superfluid's releases on the Creative Vibes label. The experience in the region not so long after the Balkan wars, immersed into communities connected to his Australian friends who had left as refugees from the conflict, proved immensely moving, and resulted in a highly creative period upon return. Off the stage, Ryan studied sound design and synthesis, and increasingly focused on the technology side of the industry, joining open source company Red Hat, before spinning out a publishing technology project as a tech founder and settling into San Francisco. Now back in Australia after the pandemic reset, Ryan has established a fund to begin collecting and archiving the stories and gear from Australia's early electronic music community, and is supportive of the next generation of makers and culture creators coming through Australia's creative community. |

Search | Add | 4 | Nebes | Nebojsa Simic | It was the first visit to the legendary Belgrade underground club Industria that did it for Nebes. Clearly hypnotised by the power of the music, the sub bass and the people he partied with, he left the club that night with only one intention on his mind – to become the part of the dance music world. At only 14 Nebes was already vinyl hunting and promoting the latest electronic music with the group of his closest mates. He also had a regular Sunday slot, on the local FM radio. As the popularity of the show grew, his keen sense for fresh music and dj-ing talent have led him straight out of the radio studio and onto the local clubs dancefloors. He recalls those first parties as full of positive energy, enthusiasm and true love for music. Consequently in the 1999 Nebes started an organisation ‘Reactor’ with his best mate Spok (no he didn’t have pointy ears…), and from than on the local scene has truly started to flourish and the major party line ups have been graced by the biggest names of Serbian club scene at the time, such as Marko Nastic, Dejan Milicevic, Milosh Pavlovic to name a few. As Reactor ‘lived long and prospered’ the parties kept growing and in 2001 Nebes kicks off the famous ‘Good Mood Explosion’ party series in the ancient Smederevo fortress bringing over the top crop of Serbian and Europian DJ’s. As a techno DJ at that time, Nebes has had a chance to play alongside the likes of Billy Nasty, Brenda Russell, Hardcell, Johan Bacto, Asem Shama, Vlad Sokolov. His love of musical hardware and technology has inevitably led him to start using such equipment in his sets and very quickly in his production too. His production has always had the characteristics of a minimal approach. ‘Less is more’ has always had ‘more inspiration for him’ as Nebes states himself. After couple of years of a studio lock up, his hard work has been recognised and fully supported by a German minimal techno label Limikola and it’s boss Heron. Limikola has already enjoyed a full support by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Cari Lekebusch, Damon Wild, Troy Pierce, Paco Osuna.. January 2009 sees the release of Nebeses debut Fliction EP which immediately ended up in top 100 downloads on Beatport. His sound has now matured and has been described as a characteristic style of modulated bass lines combined with precise drum section, synthesized percussions and freaky high notes. His arrangements are rich in contrasts but also just as much in singularity and harmony of the flow. Above all, Nebes has a very good sense of humour – always a good sign in a talented producer. His latest Ensampled EP has been championed by the top DJ’s around the world for some time now. Nebes says – it’s a peak time vinyl with an old school vocals and a dark and emotive journey. True. |

Her compositions are regularly aired on ABC Classic FM, and her album has been CD of the week at 2MBS FM and 3MBS FM and ABC Triple J Unearthed. Elodie has also begun to collaborate more widely, particularly in the realms of art and music. Inter alia, Elodie held a successful collaboration project with painter Paul Thomas for a series of portraits of the World's Greatest Composers (which adorns City Recital Hall, Sydney). She has recently composed film scores for a recently released movie "The Last Goodbye" (directed by award winning film maker Samantha Rebillet) and "Generation A", an inspirational documentary about education in Afghanistan by Jasmin Kozowy. Elodie’s willingness to extend the collaborations across mediums, and particularly between Music and Cinema, has lead Elodie to focus more on composing, and often to play live on inspiring extracts of movies she wishes to musically illustrate. Elodie has released two more alums: Silent Bridge (December 2014), also recorded in Australia, and back in France, Graine de Sable (Grain of Sand) June 2017.

The band is inspired by styles as sinister as sludge, blackened crust and doom. In 2016 comes a first devastating EP. In order to increase its level of heaviness, the band is joined in 2017 by Guillaume on bass. The Helvetians then work on new titles and test them on various scenes in Switzerland and France. They enter the studio in summer 2019 and record their first album in live conditions to maintain the band’s raw feeling. CHARLENE BERETAH offers a heavy and aggressive music with a cocky, sticky and oppressive atmosphere.

Born in France to an Italian mother and a Togolese father, she spent most of her childhood in Morocco. It is in this colorful country, repository of a subtle oriental refinement, bathed in exhilarating scents, that she forges her first musical weapons. Jazz will quickly become her preference, offering her vocal palette a sufficiently vast field of exploration.

Search | Add | 4 | Remipeds | The Remipeds first appeared in the lively and flourishing music scene of post-punk London in the late 1970s. Right from the beginning, it was clear that this was no ordinary band jumping on many of the bandwagons that were making their way through the clubs and pubs of trend-crazed London. Initially confining their mind-bending live performances to the 23rd of every month and/or full moons, this band borrowed more from the future than the past or the present. A remarkable blend of rock, psychedelia, world-music, ambient, reggae and dub, techno, and postmodern juxtapositions of TV and movie themes with pseudo-political and outer-space samples, Remipeds never quite let the listener know what was going on by making sure the band didn't either. The Remipeds burned brightly for around two years. Their meteoric rise to fame, coupled with an incredible creative output in the form of songs, interpretive dances, children's stories, multi-media events, bodily noises, and more, took London and indeed most of England by storm. Their influence can be said to have penetrated every nook and cranny of popular music today. Yet despite this, most people have never heard of them. This is one of the profound injustices our research team at Pimlico University has set out to remedy. Along with what has come to be known in the literature as "The Cover-Up," we will also trace how the band was boycotted by major record companies following the "EMI Xmas Caper," in which the lads found that record company executives are singularly lacking in sense of humor when it pertains to their own persons. Living constantly at the temperature of their own destruction, and sometimes exceeding it by quite a bit, the at times overheated Remipeds came to epitomize the power of Creativity, Freedom, and Independent Music, proudly recording on their own Banana Records as a statement against the corruption so rampant in the music industry. Unfortunately, the complex challenge of reconciling order and disorder within the band's profoundly pluralistic and admittedly ample bosom simply proved too much. After a couple of years, the centripetal force created by Remipeds expelled the band members one after the other. The band disbanded in the early 80s, but not before leaving behind an astonishing body of work. Slowly but surely, we hope to present this body of work on this web site. We want to bring to the attention of today's listeners a band that was so ahead of its time, it was once humorously speculated they were in fact time travellers. In a disturbing twist, and proving that many a true word is often spoken in jest, we shall see that this bizarre conjecture may not be as outlandish as it might seem. The fate of the members is documented, of course, in Harry J. Clarke's classic tale of the road, "Me Wanta Rainbow Remiped: In Search of the Band that Changed the Music." This website will contain all the information available to us at present. It was compiled by the Ethno-Musicology department at Pimlico University by a team headed by Prof. Clifford Llewellyn. We will focus on presenting to the public a wide collection of artefacts, ranging from sound-samples to video-clips to historical segments, to published and unpublished interviews, found objects, reviews, merchandise, scholarly treatises and analyses, explorations of musical sources and influences and colleagues, drug paraphernalia, and other "Remipediana." Stay tuned, and feel free to drop us a line if you want to ask us anything, or if you have any information about the Remipeds. We are particularly interested in contacting people who saw, worked with, or were intimate with the band. www.remipeds.com

It was here that he started picking up his musical career again, but in the early 1960's he moved to Belgium where he and his band The Royals became very successful performing artists. This group recorded 1 single: Opera Twist (which was Ricky's own version of The Black Dynamites single Brush Those Tears) b/w I Want To Love You. After the band split up Ricky Blake hooked up with the legendary Indorock group The Black Dynamites (old friends of his) and together they finished the remainder of the contracts as Ricky Blake and the Royals. After that they started performing as Ricky Blake and the Black Dynamites till 1964 when their ways separated. Ricky Blake moved to Australia and the Black Dynamites went back to the Netherlands from where they would start touring in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, France, Spain and South Africa. |
