Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Steven R. Trent | Steven R Trent is a rockabilly guitar playing, roots music musician from North Canton Ohio. On a cold winter’s day in January 2011, Steve decided to form a One Man Band when he ran across a 4 dollar suitcase in a Canton Ohio thrift store and realized it made a great sounding bass drum He then built himself a “snare drum” by slapping together a homemade plywood box and attaching some vintage license plates, Throw in a couple of cheap drum pedals, and the Flat Broke One Man Band was in business. Since opening up shop in January 2011, Steven R Trent’s Flat Broke One Man Band has been tearing up stages all over Ohio and the rest of the Midwest (PA, MI, IN, WV, WI, and so on), with the fiery brand of rockabilly mayhem he’s best known for; but now fusing in more roots music, proving that he’s always had the soul of a bluesman and the heart of a country western troubadour. With original songs like Truck Stop Gravy, and the Ghost of a Cheater, as well an extensive catalog of his own souped up versions of rockabilly, country western, and juke joint standards and obscurities; SRT’s live shows are always a foot stomping good time.

Search | Add | 2 | The Last Day Of Winter | The Last Day Of Winter are a Portuguese post-rock band from Ovar, it consists of [a7874909] on guitar, [a7874930] on bass and [a7874929] on drums. Born and developed by elements of many distinct and distant musical, social and artistic movements, but always with the common goal to fight and defeat inertia and musical conservatism of their own environment, and after a long period of rehearsals and failed formations, The Last Day of Winter managed to find their own identity and, finally, move on to the studio and record all of what they had absorbed. Endowed with a melancholic density and dissonant gestures, a distorted and introspective approach, we are invited to take a stroll through the universe of some of the most influential band of experimentalism and post-rock of our days, showing us that sometimes the vocal melody can be a purely figurative element in musical composition.

Search | Add | 2 | Philip Challis | The pianist Philip Challis [1929-1996] born in Huddersfield, the Yorkshire town world famous for its magnificent Choral Society, was able to read at sight at age 4 and quickly progressed, at first with local teacher Frederick Greenwood. In 1948 he took over at short notice in a concert when the soloist Colin Horsley became ill. Challis was a student of Iso Elinson at the Royal Manchester College of Music, then went on to study with Herbert Fryer (1877-1957) who had attended Busoni's classes. Fryer was an excellent pianist and teacher - among his students were Constant Lambert, Cyril Smith, Kendall Taylor, George Malcolm, Lance Dossor. Later Challis studied with Ilona Kabos (1892-1973), wife of Louis Kentner. Her musical studies were made at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. She taught many pianists who achieved eminence (Howard Shelley, Janos Solyom, Varella-Cid, Peter Frankl etc) in England then at the Juilliard School. Challis, a pianist who excelled in the big virtuoso works of Ravel, Liszt, Scriabin and Bartok, performed widely in UK and Europe, made very many BBC broadcasts, featured in a number of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts, in solo recitals and with orchestras. He was also a successful teacher in Worthing and London but died in mid-career before reaching the age of seventy.

He embarked on his musical journey in 2017, adopting the stage name "Kid Koffer" as part of the group "Tela Mobb," alongside fellow rapper Vibe Ish. Together, they released an album under the group's name, but eventually pursued solo paths. In 2018, Asael began releasing his own music under the pseudonym "Yeled Hussle." The lead single from the album, "Something to Play in Hell," earned a coveted spot on the Galgalatz playlist. "Why Who Died?!?" received acclaim from both audiences and critics, amassing hundreds of thousands of plays on streaming platforms. In July 2022, Asael partnered with the hip-hop record label "Hip Hop on Record" to release a special edition of his album, further solidifying his presence in the Israeli rap scene. |

Search | Add | 2 | Cde. Chinx Chingaira | Dick Chingaira | Chinx is a short name for Chingaira. He was born in Rusape on September 27, 1955. He was married to Catherine Mazuru who died in 1996. Chingaira attended Chigora Primary School in the Makoni District of Rusape. His interest in music began when his primary school headmaster, Martin Dhlamini, encouraged him to sing and to join the school choir. On completion of secondary school, Chingaira got a place to study medicine overseas but he failed to acquire travel documents and the whole plan failed to materialise. Then in 1974 he worked at an engineering plant in Msasa, in Harare. At the end of 1975, Chinx joined the Second Chimurenga war in Mozambique. As much as he was a fighter his love for music made him a full-time organiser of theZimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front(ZANU-PF) People’s Choir. The choir that was formed was called Takawira in honour of the late nationalistLeopold Takawira. Takawira Choir became just but one of many other choirs which boosted freedom fighters’ morale during the war. Chinx had joined the guerrillas with the sole aim of liberating Zimbabwe but found himself being the leader of the Takawira choir which in no time changed its name to the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) Choir, which acted as a morale booster for the fighting cadres when Comrade Mhere Yaraira who led the group was transferred. Chinx's musical skills were later realised at independence in 1980 when he returned to Zimbabwe. He soon teamed up with Bennie Miller and Keith Farquharson to record his early chimurenga hits “Ngorimba”, “Zvikomborero” and “Nerudo”. The band soon developed to include Don Gumbo of Ilanga and more hits were recorded between 1982 and 1987. Chinx pursued a multitude of career options. Shortly after leaving Ilanga he pursued a solo career. He has also acted in films (1996’s Flame), as well as writing the score for the 1989 South African documentary Limpopo Line. After a short stint with Ilanga he moved on to team up with Mazana Movement Bandand then later with Mazana Black Spirits. His hit song entitled "Vanhu Vose VemuAfrica" translated "People of Africa" captures the essence of humanity and unity in the face of injustice and unfairness. His most outstanding hit, “Roger Confirm”, stayed on the then Radio 3’s Hitpick charts for 25 weeks in 1989 and early 1990. Every year since the 1980s during the Heroes Day, Independence Day celebrations and Africa Day holidays, all radio stations in Zimbabwe have continued to play Chinx’s liberation songs. In 2000 when the land reform started. Chinx, with the late former band mate Andy Brown backed by the Police Band when the land reform started, composed and recorded songs for the government becoming part of the Third Chimurenga. |
