Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Maria Roger-Miclos Marie-Aimée Roger-Miclos Maria Roger-Miclos (1 May 1860, Toulouse — 19 May 1951, Paris) was a prolific French pianist and music educator; several notable composers commissioned original works for her, including Africa, Op. 89 fantasia by [a=Camille Saint-Saëns]. In September 1905, Roger-Miclos made a series of gramophone 78 RPM records for the Italian label [l=Fonotipia]. She taught at the Paris Conservatory for many years and was one of the first female professors when Marie joined the faculty. Name variations: Aimée-Marie Roger-Miclos, Marie Roger-Miclos, Mme. Roger-Miclos-Battaille. Marie-Aimée grew up in Southern France, educated at the Conservatoire de Toulouse in her hometown and later at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she studied with Louise Aglaé Massart (1827—1887) and [a=Henri Herz]. In 1890, Roger-Miclos debuted as a concert pianist in London, touring extensively across England, France, and German-speaking countries between 1893 and 1897. Maria traveled overseas in 1902 for the complete season of solo recitals in the United States and Canada. She endorsed Pleyel et Cie pianos, sponsored at some point by Auguste Wolff (1821—1887), a successor of [a=Camille Pleyel] (1788—1855), the son of the company's founder, [a=Ignaz Pleyel] (1757—1831). Besides her broad virtuoso repertoire by Mendelssohn, Liszt, and Chopin, Marie-Aimée had several compositions dedicated to her, including "À l'aventure: Chanson pour piano," Op. 65, by Joseph O'Kelly (1828—1885), who worked for Wolff at Pleyel, and most notably, Africa concertante fantasia written by Saint-Saëns during his stay in Egypt and premiered by Roger-Miclos in October 1891 at Concerts du Châtelet in Paris under [a=Édouard Colonne]'s baton.

Search Add 3 The City Squires Parma, Ohio 1965-70. The City Squires were a long lasting and very popular band in the Cleveland and northern Ohio band scene, releasing three 45s. The band was started by junior high students Jim Brickner (13 years old) on guitar and Roland Solomon (12 years old) in 1963. The original band, named the Jaguars after the car, included Jim, Roland, and Tom Sitzler (drums). Tom Kent (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) joined the band a few weeks later, and when Sitzler left soon after, Tom brought in Dale Zack on drums. Dale and Tom were from Middleburg Heights while Jim and Roland were from Parma. in the fall of '66 the City Squires disbanded for a few months. Roland Solomon left the band and Greg Burnett from the Canterburys was brought in to replace him. Jim Brickner and Greg Burnett organized a new City Squires by hooking up with another Parma band, the Set LTD, and from that group Jerry Colvin (keyboards) and Gus D'Angelo (bass) joined, along with Bill McCracken (from the Canterburys) on drums. In the new City Squires, Greg emerged as their lead singer, sax player, trumpet player, and front man. In the summer of '68 Jim Brickner had a brief argument with a couple members, apparently over a PA system, and left for a few weeks. During this time the band performed as "Pye Jones and the 28th Day Ragtime Band" with Greg Burnett adopting the stage name "Pye Jones" (to this day he's not sure where that came from).

Search Add 3 Batheethyim Batheethyim began as a Dark Ambient/Experimental project with harsh Black Metal screams and lyrical themes of mythology, evil, anti-christianity, pagan folklore, darkness, depression, black magic/rituals, etc. This style was played on their first 2 tapes, before eventually becoming a fully Black Metal project in the late 90s, adding focus on guitar riffs, blastbeats, etc. although still with Ambient elements in some intro tracks and with many experimental structures and ideas. The albums themes were inspired by The Carpathian Forest of Wallachia, and was entirely recorded under the full moon, being recorded throughout the full moons of thee months during the Winter of 1998/1999. This would be their full-length debut and also their final release. Before Batheethyim, sole-member James Barbuto had another project where he combined Dark Ambient with the vocals and themes of Death Metal and Doom/Death, called [a=Blood Mercifier].

The entirety of the album is in Icelandic, translated by Veturliði Guðnason. Four years later another production would be put on in Reykjavík, this time by a professional theatre company at Flugfélagið Loftur Theatre. Almost all of the same translations would be used though, with the singular exception of "Laugardagskvöld" (Hot Patootie) which was completely reimagined as an ode to death metal instead. The 1991 version is more traditional, with Eddie playing his "saxófónninn" and really loving that "rokk og ról". The 1995 Icelandic cast put out a cast album also. Search Add 3 vMarkus vMarkus is a Finnish-American electronic musician, composer, and performer. In the early 1980s, he began experimenting with combining found sounds and modified pianos with electronic noises created using random pieces of Radio Shack equipment. His first band was the electro-goth duo Burning Kafka, who released one cassette-single, as well as a demo cassette. Differences in musical direction saw the group disband, and vMarkus went on to join the industrial band Crocodile Shop, mainly as a live keyboardist. As the band often jokes, he never left. Taking on added music composing responsibilities, vMarkus worked in close collaboration with singer and musician Mick Hale to create the unique sound of the band, releasing several albums throughout the nineties and early 2000s. As a prolific musician, he has collaborated with a number of musicians and artists, and participated in several side projects including the noise-industrial unit Kunterfaust, drum-and-bass-inspired proGREX.iv (with fellow Crocodile Shop member Mick Hale, as well as George Sarah, Jared Hendrickson, and Sarah Folkman), and gothic art project The Appointed Time. Since 1998, he has recorded and experimented with various EDM genres as the solo-project Subliminal Gravity.

Stamps Quartet) of Dallas. In 1940, V.O. Stamps, president of Stamps-Baxter, sent Foshee to manage and sing bass in the Stamps-Baxter Melody Boys (aka Stamps Melody Boys) in Arkansas. Well known pianist , songwriter, and arranger Joe Roper was also in the group. Foshee left the Melody Boys to serve in the US Army during WW2 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. After the war, he became the manager and bass singer of a group called Herschel Foshee and his Stamps-Baxter Quartet. Joe Roper joined him in the new group. They began in Mississippi in 1946, but they soon moved to Illinois before moving back to Arkansas in 1948. There Foshee organized an additional group called the Herschel Foshee Junior Quartet. On November 16, 1949, Herschel Foshee died from heart disease at the age of 38. The remaining Herschel Foshee Stamps-Baxter Quartet members continued on with Smilin’ Joe Roper in charge and soon reclaimed the pre-war name, the Melody Boys. Gerald Williams, who had been the bass for the Foshee Junior Quartet became the bass singer for the Melody Boys and would go on to much success as the manager of the Melody Boys, continuing Foshee’s legacy for many years.

Search Add 3 Dryland Family Band Dryland Formed in 2014 of the best of pals, Dryland is not a myth. Through catchy, driving riffs riding a cloud of crunch, Dryland will guide the listener along a journey to populate the sun in a distant plane once inhabited by the Crab People, now ruled by the Moss Lord. Dryland exists somewhere in the space between Motörhead, Nick Cave, Red Fang, Danzig, and of course, Black Sabbath. Your mom will probably like them despite not liking "that kind of music." They released their first album, Self-Titled, in 2017 and are currently recording a new EP with producer+engineer Matt Bayles.
