Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Rescator | Roger Hågensen | Roger Hågensen (born March 23rd, 1974) Rescator has been making music since early 1990's, mostly for himself but sometimes for others or various projects. Some commercial work was done then as well, but sadly none of the games reached completion as the game developer folded! The music is alternative or experimental but ranges across the full spectrum of music styles, sometimes within the very same song, whatever the styles it's certainly not your typical mainstream music. |

Search | Add | 3 | Episode Earth | Episode Earth is an alternative rock band from Cranbury, New Jersey that was started in 2004 by former "The Lesser Known Saints" members Jake Kiesler on drums and Dan Christel on guitar and vocals. This originally began as a side project that was an experiment in musical progression and meaningful lyrics with a broad diverse sound. The band then took shape when former "Radio Radio" and "Weekend Euphoria" frontman Mark Orlowski was recruited for lead vocals. Mark's ranging vocals and versatile styling took the band in a new direction and defined their emerging Post-Hardcore sound. Over the next two years the band experienced changes in sound and lineup. The additions of Mike Tindall on bass and Frank Petrino on lead guitar brought the character, and inspiration needed to balance the band and write new iconic rock music. Episode Earth's blend of strong rock driven rhythms, melodic etherial tones, powerful vocals and deep lyrics have etched their place in the music scene.

Search | Add | 3 | Stephen Rey | American singer/songwriter, guitarist and bassist. Works mostly in the Americana/roots genre, his music blending elements of rock & roll, blues, country, honky tonk, and southern swamp. Has played with a number of artists as well as fronting his own acts and releasing works under his own name and as Stephen El Rey. Stephen Rey was born in Victorville, California. When he was three his family moved to San Diego, where he grew up mostly in the suburb of Lakeside. He attributes much of his musical influence to time spent on his grandparents' ranch in El Centro. He got into punk rock, started playing in bands at age fourteen, and at seventeen spent time busking in San Francisco and Berkeley. After some demo recordings funded by major labels, in 1998 he obtained a publishing deal with Warner Chappell as a songwriter; some of his songs appeared in movies and documentaries. However, he put this venture aside to focus on his growing family. In the 2000s he began performing as a side man in local San Diego acts, playing bass in Operator X and Lady Dottie & The Diamonds. He fronted his own group, Stephen Rey & The Slicks, with drummer Brian Cantrell (Operator X, Lady Dottie & The Diamonds), guitarist Mike Butler, and bassist Ryan Sinn (ex-[a=The Distillers] and [a=Angels & Airwaves]). They released the album Old Fashioned Future in 2011. The following year he put together a stripped-down version of this act called Stephen Rey And The Sextrash, with Nathan Beale (Lady Dottie & The Diamonds, ex-[a=Dirty Sweet]) on guitar and Tim Lowman ([a=Low Volts]) on percussion. Over the next few years he played bass with [a=Bartender's Bible], [a=Mad Juana], [a=Diablo Dimes], [a=John Reis], [a=El Vez], [a=The Schizophonics], and [a=The Little Richards]. Joining the Johnny Cash tribute band Cash’d Out, he began playing original material as an opening act on tour. This led him to record and release music under the name Stephen El Rey, including the self-released Stephen El Rey Sextet EP, (2016), the Poor Born EP (2017, on Pig Baby Records), and the Memphis Sessions LP (2019, Pig Baby), along with several digital singles. In 2020 he formed the avant-garde "21st century duet" Tormenta Rey with [a=Leilainia Marcus] (aka Leilainia Lovelight), in which they perform original compositions and obscure songs from the 1920s and 1930s, with Rey playing guitar and singing and Lovelight playing trumpet and performing theatrical dance.

Search | Add | 3 | Goldkey | Mike Horn | Goldkey is the musical alias of New York artist Mike Horn. With Degraw Sound's Ben Rice at the helm, Goldkey has crafted tunes that are one part indie pop, one part indie folk, or as tastemakers Emerging Indie Bands calls it —“slipwave”. Goldkey’s first single “Mountain” was featured on Spotify playlists, TuneCore's The New and Indie Mono's Indie Folk Chill. Goldkey followed this release up with the psychedelic, “What Am I Supposed To Do?” and Indie pop-focused “Faster”, which landed his music in the #1 slot of Hype Machine’s Twitter Music Charts for consecutive weeks. In August of 2019, Goldkey released his first 5-song EP, "Background". Goldkey’s latest release heads in a slightly different direction – adding lo-fi remnants mixed with the indie sound we’ve come to expect from him. The EP is packed with a healthy dose of surf, garage and even a pinch of shoegaze. For his latest release, Horn tapped producer/musician Evan Wright. |

Search | Add | 3 | Mighty Bread | Herman St. Joseph Lowes | The Mighty Bread (Herman St. Joseph Lowes) began his career in 1972 (according to the liner notes of his "Soca Fever" album). He won two calypso crowns and toured the world. Bread recorded sporadically in the West Indies, New York, and Toronto between the 1970s and the 1990s. There were often significant gaps between his releases - for instance, HJL-006 ("Run to the Sun") came out in 1981 in New York, while his next release HJL-007 ("Soca Fever") came out in 1984 in Canada. "Bread as he is known in calypso and steelband circles, derived his name because he always thought of money as Bread, and it is thought of by all as power, therefore, he thought that his Calypso name should be Mighty Bread." - Louie Jarvis, "Soca Fever" liner notes, 1984. |

In late April 2008, the first demo entitled "Specular writing : Preliminary before the redemption", provides the conceptual basis of this project to many musical influences. At the beginning of 2009, a formation is set up to hope to rise on live scene and to share the universe of Nocturn Deambulation to the grand public. Nocturn Deambulation is finally led to become more concrete with it formation deserving of a good Death Metal band with good festive concerts! |
Search | Add | 3 | SoulBrigada | SoulBrigada was founded in 2009 by the german artists & musicians Alex D. and Fabio V. With this project they want to pull down stereotyped thinking and musical barriers and present a wide range of various music. As the name SoulBrigada associates Soulmusic is obligatory for them but they’re not limited to this genre – the main point is the SOUL in the music. Moving between Beats & Breaks, Global Grooves, Electronica, Disco & Rare Groove, the listener can always expect an exciting and versatile trip. This passion has also led to music production, which has accumulated a considerable number of releases over the years. It all started in 2011 when their first production, a remix of a song by the 'Gilles Peterson Havana Cultura Band' was officially released on a limited & exclusive vinyl EP. Further releases followed on KAT45, Matasuna Records, Légère Recordings, Resense and Samosa Records. More releases will see the light of day in the near future. In summer 2016 the own label Matasuna Records was launched, which is specialized in reissuing rare music from all over the world, but also doesn't disregard great contemporary music. The label has built up an excellent reputation among music connoisseurs over the years, so that many of the vinyl releases are already sold out.

The entirety of the album is in Icelandic, translated by Veturliði Guðnason. Four years later another production would be put on in Reykjavík, this time by a professional theatre company at Flugfélagið Loftur Theatre. Almost all of the same translations would be used though, with the singular exception of "Laugardagskvöld" (Hot Patootie) which was completely reimagined as an ode to death metal instead. The 1991 version is more traditional, with Eddie playing his "saxófónninn" and really loving that "rokk og ról". The 1995 Icelandic cast put out a cast album also. Search | Add | 3 | Cardavercus | Took the name Cardavercus in 1998, and led by ex-Severe Warning founder Bryan Renken and main songwriter Ace The Raven in 1998. Formed from the combination of two previous bands. Renken, led by Renken, Ace, Darrin Winne, and Gary "Meat" Vosecky from 1993 to 1994 (which also recruited Mike Marczak in 1994), and 1996-1997, and an unnamed band of Ace, Scott, and Mike that lasted from 1994 to 1996, before they combined into the new Renken lineup in 1996. This lineup would record a 5 song demo in June of 1997 that includes future-Cardavercus songs. This lineup then changed their name to Cardavercus in early 1998, a name that Ace thought of in August of 1997 and was included in a list of possible band names to change Project Raven to, until this project was put on hold to focus on Renken. Under both names, Renken and Cardavercus, they would end up playing some previous Project Raven songs, and newer Ace-penned songs that he would later bring back his solo project after Cardavercus split up. The 1997 demo included "Immune" and "The Secret (Non Omnis Moriar)" and "Life Will Decay", all past Project Raven songs, and after the name change to Cardavercus they would play these as well as "Free" and "Threshold", "The Dark Plan", "Blinded", "The Unseen" and others, many later recorded on the Ace the Raven album "Fortress of Apathy" in 2005. Cardavercus also even played a cover of Nitefall's "Island of Courage... Sea of Despair", which Project Raven and Ace The Raven both also covered, although both versions are unreleased. During the early days of Renken, 1993-1994 they would play many re-structured Severe Warning songs, as well as future-Cardavercus songs such as "Cold Vengeance", "Water Into Wine" and "Dying Day", as well as future Ace The Raven songs such as "Hell Is Above" and "Journey Into Fear". Cardavercus' recorded their debut 4-song demo in early 1999 and independently released it in spring of the same year. Their official press packs of the era list Venom, Mercyful Fate and Sepultura as some of their influences. In late 1999 they went back into Digitrax Recording Studio and began working on their second CD "Cardavercus II: We Return Again, but unfortunately they split up for good during the recording process and it was never completed. In 2005 Ace The Raven re-issued the demo, with a varied front cover and on an enhanced CD with a bonus QuickTime Video clip of the song "Dying Day", recorded in concert in 1999 from one of shows that Severe Warning bassist Darrin Winne played with them for. This is another song that dates back to Renken rehearsals in 1994. After the Renken/Cardavercus lineup of Renken/Ace/Scott/Mike was established Renken started another band as well, called Bat Rastard. This band included both Renken drummers in the band officially, alongside original Severe Warning bassist, Poyzon-founder, future Cardavercus bassist Darrin Winne, and Bryan Renken on guitars and vocals. Bat Rastard recorded a 3 song demo "Bat Rastard Live at Practice", played live onto on 8-Tracks on July 8th 1997, and soon after played their only 2 live shows, with Greg on drums for one and Scott on drums for the other. After their split Darrin would fill in live for several Cardavercus shows in 1998 and 1999, before officially replacing Mike Marczak in 2000 shortly before the band split up.

Search | Add | 3 | Leverett Brothers | The Leverett Brothers were Wilbur (1916-2010) and Homer (1919-1982). They were from Galena, MO and began playing professionally as a vaudeville-style duo ("The Original Ozarks Hillbillies") while still in their teens. Their first appearance was at the Gillioz Theater in Springfield, MO in the early 1930s. Missouri artist Thomas Hart Benton first met the boys in 1931, and used them as models for his 1931 Missouri Musicians painting. In the 1940s, the brothers shifted their act to a more evangelical approach, appearing at numerous churches and tent revivals, but continued to include a mix of country/bluegrass music, novelty music (played on cheeks and head, broom, etc.), and magic tricks.

Search | Add | 3 | The 59 Sound | Possibly you are facing one of more interesting profiles of the current spanish scene. The 59 Sound is a quintet based in Málaga (Spain), formed by Vic de Wee on vocals, dutch from Utrech and “Man Made Ivory” (grunge band from Utrech) former lead singer; Mateo brothers: Juan Antonio, Jorge y José Manuel (guitarists and bass player hardened in bands such as Monster -REM covers-, Hondonero, etc.; and Aurelio Tello as drummer from Madrid. They debuted in 2016 on the spanish recording scene with a Cd called “Instinto”, but a couple of years ago with the addition of Vic as vocalist and Aurelio on drums, they decided to close the previous stage and they started the project virtually from scratch. They changed their language to English and they locked themselves in the rehearsal room to shape their first songs, difficult to label, circling around an alternative rock, which it can sounds bright or dark, direct or progressive, with a powerful and solid rhythm section accompanied by precise guitars and which highlights Vic de Wee´s vocal range. After recording the "Miles Away" EP in 2020, they now return in 2022 with the "SCARS" EP, a new CD with 5 songs of their own composition, started at the Moby Dick Studios in Malaga and finished in Holland at the Barn in the Meadow Studios, Benschop, where they went to record the voices and the making the mixes with the production of Jordi Langelaan, direct technician of bands like Within Temptation or kensington.
