Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Leo Leyzerowitz Leo Leyzerowitz is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer & dj living in Paris. Greatly attracted to minimalism, textures, and being already familiar with repetitive and hypnotic musical patterns, Leo Leyzerowitz developed his attraction for minimal and micro house in particular. Since then, he has produced both elegant and sharp music, however not without those deliciously groovy sounds. In 2021, he founded Lamed Records, a vinyl & digital independant label based in Paris, focused on fine minimal house music. He also releases experimentale/noise music under the name of Buzenval. Since 2023, he's part of the duo Arche, french drone doom metal band.

Search Add 2 Creel Commission The Commission was first set up in 1918 by John Creel to brainwash the American public into supporting a war against the Axis. By blood and initiation the rites of the original commission were passed down through several generations into the hands of several young men who found that the sands of time had destroyed their link with government. As free thinking agents, there could be only one conclusion: to start a band and take on all comers in the battlefield of London rock venues; to scream and yell for justice and fight for the freedom of people everywhere; to bear the standard for truth and democracy and fight the heathen attitudes of modern indulgent apathy with the ultimate indulgence of rock 'n roll. Well, at least they started with good intentions. Soon enough though they were playing indie-rock/ska/metal/whatever-the-crowd-wanted and forgetting all the truths that had first spurred them on. But brother were they loving it. Soon values mattered no longer; now 'more-uptempo-setlists' and 'moving-around-more-on-stage-to-give-the-impression-that-you-rock' became the Utter Creed. The crowds were wild for the Creel Deal. The legendary Creel-Mobile rolled into existence and the band took their newfound zeal to the masses. Hitting the area known as 'North of the Watford Gap' proved a campaign too far: the band being astonished at its size had to flee southwards to familiar London womb of geeza promoters and sticky feet, where their zeal was appreciated by those in the know. Distorted and bloodied by the campaign trail the Commission dissolved into the abyss of its own super-uncommercial commerciality and with wild eyes and daggers in hand were then to be found screaming rabid and spraying A&R men with banned musical pesticides whilst simultaneously summoning ancient gods. Creel Commission were five modern insider outsider don't-have-a-hope-any-more maniacs, joined out of compulsion and habit to deafen one another. The Commission was always doomed, but was all the more beautiful because of this. They never agreed with one another and they certainly didn't agree with you. All they knew was that Armageddon was coming and they vowed to contribute to the roar. In 2005 Creel Commission recorded some singles, got half-way towards an album, gigged like hell, rolled out a series of media onslaught interviews with the best and the worst minds in the world. Then, as predicted, they self-combusted owing to the sheer unsustainability of the band's dynamism. Their last decree: 'we shall fight them on the beaches and under the streets no matter how loud the sound system and how bad our ear protection. May God help us all.' Creel Commission were: Ed - vocals, guitar, keyboard. Jim Kroft - vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar. James Lentaigne - bass guitar. Christian Lock-Necrews – drums. They were joined by Ben Barritt on lead guitar & Ed Lowther on lead guitar. After the dissolution of the band, a number of their songs were left on the web, scraped by various algos and have subsequently gained a large cult following around the globe, in particular the song Cigarette.

Search Add 2 Winifred Cecil American soprano and vocal coach (1906-1985). Born Staten Island, studied singing as a child with Marcella Sembrich and the lieder singer Elena Gerhardt. In the early 1930's, she sang on radio programs before her New York recital debut in 1933 at Town Hall. The singer made several concert tours, appearing with symphony orchestras, and then went to Italy in 1937 to sing opera. She appeared at La Scala in Milan, the San Carlo Opera in Naples, and other European houses, appearing notably in Italian and German operas. The outbreak of World War II prevented Miss Cecil from returning to the United States for her scheduled Metropolitan Opera debut. She stayed in Italy, and married Baron Paolo Mazzonis di Pralafera. Miss Cecil returned to the United States after the death of her husband in 1949, and resumed a career as recitalist and soloist. She began teaching at the Juilliard School and the University of Buffalo, and started Joy in Singing, a series of public master classes that provided debut recitals for outstanding young singers. She also continued to coach singers privately, among them the pop singer Roberta Flack.
