Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Niki J Niki Mills Niki used to club regularly and found his home amongst the music and lights. He discovered a passion for mixing when a friend bought decks to his house and he took to it like a duck to water. Niki became part of the Suffolk music DJ scene in the late 90’s/ early noughties playing out at venues such as Hollywood’s in Ipswich, where he was part of a group called Essence. He built a strong reputation for his mixing skills but the life style that often comes along side DJ’ing took its toll. Originally a vinyl DJ, after a 20 year break Niki has moved over to digital mixing. Now back on the straight and narrow, Niki is getting back out there and looking forward to showing the world what he is made of and has become a resident under many channels such as Atomic Audio, Exile Hard Dance Heaven, E.N.D and more. Music is therapy to him and he is keen to network with like minded people within the music industry. He wants to share the joy that music brings him with other people. Niki is a DJ with a passion for all music, loving dance music ranging from Deep House, Tech House, up to Hard House and Bounce. Each genre has its own flavour and he loves to try show his own flavour in his mixes. He always wants his love of music to come across when he is playing, he sees mixing as a way of sharing his passion for music and loves seeing and feeling the crowds reaction. He thrives off the happiness it gives to all those listening. Niki is a great believer that music is therapy and is a necessity to help with mental health. Niki recently made it to the top 16 Dj’s of the Revolution competition out of 52 and played in the Isle of Wight and although he didn't win, he was invited to play an event alongside major names such as Jason Nawty and Amber D. He was selected in the top 20 Dj's of the Tidy 2023 competition getting to attend Tidy HQ and show them his skills and will now be playing at the Queen Vic at the Tidy Weekender 2023!.

Search Add 3 Hank Raffetto Born in Ellwood City, PA, Hank Raffetto got his early music education on sax and drums. While in trade school for Drafting and Construction, he "found the blues" while attending shows featuring Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, the Nighthawks and the Fabulous T-birds. This led him into playing bass guitar and forming the band No Money Down. While running a blues bar named The Ellton (which was later tragically destroyed), Hank helped form The Hellhounds with Don Hollowood. With the addition of Jill West, Blues Attack was born. In 1995, Hank created The 'Get Off My Case Company', which builds custom traveling cases for touring bands and sound companies. The rest is history in the making!

Search Add 3 Wayne Downey Wayne R. Downey Wayne Downey's involvement in music began in 1960 as a third grader in Commack, New York as a trumpet player in the elementary band. A few years later, the local Fire department organized a fife, drum and bugle corps to perform at various civic events and at fireman's parades. Wayne's next-door neighbor (a fireman) persuaded him to march in the corps. After several seasons, Wayne became more attracted to a drum and bugle corps in nearby Smithton, New York, primarily because their horns had a valve and a slide. He marched with the Smithtown Freelancers in 1966, 1967, and 1968. In 1969, his senior year in high school, Wayne marched in the Long Island [a8590293] as one of their soprano soloists. At the same time his father, who was an elementary school principal, interviewed for and accepted a job in California, which required relocation. The family departed during the summer of 1969, leaving Wayne behind to march with the Sunrisers. Wayne planned on finishing out the season with the Sunrisers and taking advantage of a music scholarship offered to him by Florida State University. However, midway through the summer, Wayne decided it was best to join his parents in California. "After all, great weather is great weather no matter which coast you soak it up on." With this in mind, he elicited the help of friends (including Dave Shaw, Editor of Drum Corps Digest) to locate any drum and bugle corps on the West coast. Wayne was informed of a three-year old corps located in Santa Clara, California called the [a473043]. Ironically, his parents had moved just one block away from the home of the Vanguard's corps director, [a4670281]. Wayne marched soprano bugle with Vanguard during the end of the 1969 season, and all of 1970-72. In 1971, Santa Clara's brass instructor [a5983459] left the corps. Jack was replaced as brass instructor by Wayne (one of the soprano soloists in the corps) and [a8735443] (an "age out" from the previous season), led by Gail Royer as music director and arranger. Wayne "aged out" in 1972. During that season, the professional relationship between Wayne and Gail had soured and Wayne was politely "relieved of his responsibilities" as brass instructor at the end of the season. In 1973, Wayne instructed the reigning World Champion [a8838508], and the [a8590005]. He was teaching the Commodores on Tuesday evenings, and then flying down to Los Angeles on Wednesdays to teach the Kingsmen. During the winter months, Wayne drove to LA every weekend to instruct the Kingsmen and finally moved to LA in the summer. After the drum corps season was completed, Wayne moved back to San Francisco to complete his last year of undergraduate work at nearby San Jose State University. Meanwhile, the position for San Jose State's marching band director became available and Wayne interviewed for the job "just for the hell of it". The next day, San Jose State University Band Director and undergraduate student Wayne Downey met his secretary, moved into his office, and prepared for next season. For the next two years Wayne wrote the drill and the music, directed one of the jazz/pep bands, and taught a marching band techniques class. During his first week as band director, Wayne received a telephone call from [a4670283], the director of the Concord [a1063612]. Jerry expressed interest in having Wayne teach the [a1063612]. Wayne reluctantly agreed to help audition of new people for the corps' 1974 season. "There was this for incredible magnetic energy that drew me into the organization" says Wayne of his first visit to Concord. At that time, [a8892724] was the brass instructor and arranger for the [a1063612]. Wayne and Jim were already good friends from their times together instructing the Commodores and marching in the Vanguard. Ultimately, Wayne decided to take the job as brass instructor with the [a1063612]. In 1974, the [a1063612] improved their placement at [l153566] (DCI) Nationals from 24th to 9th place. The next year, from 9th to 3rd, and the corps took their first DCI Title in 1976, the quickest three year ascent in DCI history. Wayne was now twenty-five years old. After graduating from [l277506] with a degree in secondary music education, Wayne opted to work full-time for gal the Concord [a1063612] and has been there ever since. Today, Wayne Downey has reached "icon" status in the drum corps community. He has enriched drum corps and high school and college marching bands throughout the world with his instructional techniques and carefully crafted musical arrangements. He continues to arrange, adjudicate, and instruct, and he still somehow manages to make time to consult and conduct clinics for Yamaha Music Corporation of America.

Search Add 3 Shades Of Blue Jazz Ensemble The Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble is a group of 18 professional enlisted musicians whose repertoire ranges from traditional big band jazz, to bebop and swing, to modern jazz. At one of their concerts, you are just as likely to hear the music of contemporary composers as you would the classic sounds of Count Basie or Glenn Miller. Several of the band's members are also gifted composers and arrangers, and their compositions are often featured in concert. The band has backed many jazz greats such as Tex Benecke, Denis DiBlasio, Jamey Aebersold, Mike Smith, Bobby Shew, Allen Vizzutti, Jeff Jarvis, Mike Vax, Vaughn Nark, Bill Porter, Carmen Bradford, Shelley Berg, Joe Morello, Steve Houghton, and Walt Levinsky. Furthermore, the ensemble is often requested for featured performances at jazz clinics and festivals throughout the country. Occasionally, the Shades of Blue marches onto home plate to perform national anthems for Chicago White Sox Major League Baseball games, or onto center court to perform for Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks National Basketball Association games. They also pay frequent tribute to the Air Force's musical heritage, and have collaborated with actor Wilford Brimley on a highly acclaimed salute to Major Glenn Miller. Whether performing for a head of state, before a capacity crowd in northern Wisconsin, or for our troops at home and abroad, the Shades of Blue reflects the heritage and pride of our great nation and the United States Air Force.
