Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Hc Kurtz Hc Kurtz produces techno and electronic music, utilising space, depth and structure to create stripped back arrangements that explore core creative ideas. Originally from Scotland, Hc Kurtz received an early education in acoustic percussion before moving artistically towards using analogue and digital tools, which in turn, led him to his new home in Berlin.Inspired by the emotive and narrative nature of cinematic soundscapes, Hc Kurtz strives to evoke this in both his production and dj sets, resulting in a unique, progressive sound and a bespoke dance floor dynamic.

Search Add 2 Phillip Watkins Phillip started his career at the age of three, when he sang at the local Independent Chapel, Saron, where his mother was the organist. He and his elder brother Elved won many prizes in local Eisteddfodau as duettists. Eventually Phillip emerged as a boy treble, and began his serious competitive career at the age of eight. Today one can count a hundred and twenty eight cups glittering in the glass cupboard at Castell Du Farm, his home, not to mention his medals and shields. He won twice at the Urdd Eisteddfod, but perhaps his most prized possession is the trophy which he won at the Royal National Eisteddfod, Flint, in 1969, when he sang Benjamin Britten's The Plough Boy'. When one adds all this to his concert work, his recordings and his Radio and T.V. performances one cannot but marvel at this achievement from a boy of fifteen. His first major concert was at Tabernacle, Morriston, in the company of operatic stars John Lawrenson, Victoria Elliot and the Morriston Tabernacle Choir conducted by Alun John. This was quickly followed by his appearance as a soloist, with combined choirs of 500 voices, at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. Subsequently, he enthralled 7,000 people at the Royal Albert Hall in a St. David's Day concert staged by the London Welsh Association. The Royal Opera House, Covcnt Garden, invited Phillip to sing seven performances as the shepherd boy in the opera Tosca'. Unfortunately, Phillip had to decline this invitation due to school examinations. He has appeared on Yorkshire T.V. with Harry Secombe in 'Stars on Sunday' and has featured in numerous BBC Wales programmes such as 'Telewele', Disc a Dawn, New o'r Ncwvdd, and Wales Today for World Service Radio. Phillip's first long playing disc was made at the Royal Albert Hall in November 1969, with the Royal Choral Society in a selection of Christmas Carols and conducted by Wyn Morris. The mature quality of his voice and his 'extreme professionalism', to quote one noble critic, united to make him one of the greatest boy soloists.

Bassist Os Andres was added to the lineup in September 2010, a like minded musician adding the necessary dynamics.

Search Add 2 Statsradiofoniens Orkester Statsradiofoniens Orkester, also referred to as Radio-Orkestret, was the name of the first orchestra of [l=Den Danske Statsradiofoni], the Danish national broadcasting corporation, from 1925 to 1942. One of the world’s oldest radio orchestras, it debuted with 11 musicians on 28 October 1925 conducted by [a=Launy Grøndahl] in a studio concert transmitted nationwide in Denmark. During the first few years the orchestra gradually grew to over 30 permanent musicians. [a=Emil Reesen] was employed as conductor in 1927 and the orchestra performed in public for the first time the same year. In 1928 it began to play regular weekly radio concerts. [a=Nicolai Malko] was recruited in 1930 as a regular guest conductor, and by 1931 it employed 58 musicians. Early concerts took place in the Axelborg building in Copenhagen. In 1931 the orchestra began to perform at Stærekassen (later renamed to [l=Det Kongelige Teater, Nye Scene]). In 1933 the weekly radio concert was given the name "Torsdagskoncert", a name it has kept to current date. After going into exile from nazi-Germany in the 1930’s, [a=Fritz Busch] worked extensively as a conductor of the orchestra. In 1942 the orchestra evolved into [a=Statsradiofoniens Symfoniorkester] under the direction of [a=Erik Tuxen] (1936-57). The name of the orchestra has evolved over time as follows: - From 1925 to 1942: Statsradiofoniens Orkester - From 1942 to 1959: [a=Statsradiofoniens Symfoniorkester] - From 1959 to 1996: [a=Danmarks Radios Symfoniorkester] - From 1996 to 2008: [a=DR Radiosymfoniorkestret] - Since 2008: [a=DR SymfoniOrkestret]

Search Add 2 The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree was a band that was formed in 2005 by students attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. They released two albums before officially breaking up in 2008. The band consisted of: -Lead vocalist Daniel Garza, an English major with an insatiable want to simply listen to music. His ability to sing in addition to his capacity to scream were essential to the group's style. -Keyboardist and second vocalist Jay J Matott, an abstract art enthusiast whose manic stage antics were recorded by many a fan's camera. -Playing guitar and also lending his voice, Marshall Usinger replaced The Axe skills of Jonathan Stark. -Bassist Luke Osborn (drummer from The Simple Discussion), who laid buttery, crunchy toast-style bass-line for your ears to enjoy. -Finally, the drummer, Adam Halferty, brought his backing vocals and solid percussion skills to catalyze the grooves and breakdowns. The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree drew their sound from bands such as Fear Before The March Of Flames, Portugal. The Man, These Arms Are Snakes and mewithoutyou, with a pinch of Horse The Band mixed in. Their debut EP, 'Don't Step In The Lightning', was recorded with the band's own self-raised money at Chameleon Audio & Video, and was produced by Jason M Anderson. In 2007, The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree's second release, 'Moon Window Water', was a testament that the songwriting and skills shown on 'Don't Step In The Lightning' had indeed progressed. Two tracks from their first album appeared on the release with new mixes and added production. The end of The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree was officially declared on 9 June, 2008.

Search Add 2 Mateusz Merkel Mateusz Merkel also known as The Acolyte, born in 1990 in Poland started his EDM interest in the late 2002 stealing CD’s from his sister with some funky electro. He found out some harder genres back then such as hardstyle and hardtrance, but unfortunately he lost interest in modern music and went underground with raw industrial and broken beats. He bought his first CDJ’s and started to play with them. He found out mixing is not enough and wanted to mess a little with the sounds as well. His first productions came out in the late 2009 and are developing into any hardcore genre and experimental broken beats and dark atmosphere. He is a co-founder of the free experimental Polish netlabel called [l173813] along with [a1643690] and they both do their best to show not known, but talented producers to the scene and give them a little exposure so the real hardcore junkies would have a sneak peek into the music made by people, for people. He is now doing his best to have the most fun he can out of music along with his label crew, so they’d enjoy the parties they perform at the most.
