Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Johnny Whitehorse Native American flautist Robert Mirabal has a storied career, bridging traditional and modern sounds together on a series of albums, and with a series of groups. In 2005, he released an eponymous album under an alter ego, the fictional Johnny Whitehorse. The Whitehorse albums move somewhat away from the new age and fusion elements that Mirabal has taken part in, in favor of a greater emphasis on Western sounds and traditional elements (though under both names he maintains a blend of old and new). As Whitehorse, Mirabal won a 2008 Grammy for Totemic Flute Chants and was promptly nominated for another, for 2010's Riders of the Healing Road.

Search Add 2 Sommerhus sommerhus Sommerhus is the Rotterdam-based duo of singer-songwriter and guitarist Vera Jessen-Juhrend and the classicly-trained double bass player and singer Peter Jessen. Combining elements of acoustic pop, classical music and avant-garde, they’ve created their own unique sound in which intimacy and tranquility share the leading role with melody and finely-tuned vocal harmonies. They have performed material from both their eponymous debut album Sommerhus (2013) and its successor Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Love? (2016) in clubs, theatres and living rooms from the Netherlands to Denmark to south-east Africa. Recently Sommerhus released songs created from ‘jozzonets’ by poet Joz Knoop. These songs were accompanied by a video created by artists or filmmakers. Currently Vera and Peter are working on new material.
