Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 2 | Toivo Lundmark | Artist and sculptor from Piteå, Sweden. (1936-2011) Toivo Lundmark was born and raised in Munksund. He made his public debut as an artist in 1966. During his active time, he tried his hand at most things in technology and materials. He received his artistic education at Sunderbyn Folk High School. He received the most attention for his wooden works of art. He himself thought that enamel was one of the most fun things to work with, but he started by drawing and painting. He started working with wood quite a few years after his debut. It turned out that he found a fire pit in Sweden, with waste from the carpentry. Toivo Lundmark was a down-to-earth person who was in close contact with nature. Over the years, he showed a boldness in choosing his material. Lundmark's sculptures and reliefs were mostly built around large and small wooden blocks. In addition to wood, he used stone, glass, enamel, textiles and metal in his production. For a long time, the studio consisted of a tent that he operated during the summer, in Jönsbyn, Norrfjärden. Lundmark was fascinated in his creation of the early history of Norrbotten and he himself pointed out that Finnish literature offered a lot of information. This was individual and in combination gave him inspiration in his work and made him driven forward in his desire to achieve something. - I'm glad that I'm not such an artist who has fallen into the myth of himself. Those who suffer from it only become figures who have forgotten what it is like to be human, Toivo Lundmark pointed out on one occasion. Toivo Lundmark characterized himself a number of years ago as follows: "Constantly petty and slightly crazy, I am - despite the world's lies - not burned to ashes. However, through my belief in the individual in the collective, I want through temperament, strength, imagination, sensitivity and not least stubbornness trying to give people a bit of optimism. By the way, it is also the case that when the words are neither there nor enough, well, then the pictures and things take over ". He was a person who was not talkative, liked to discuss the world situation, both global and local injustices. Fun events and less fun, people, animals and nature were other topics he liked to talk about. "Sometimes I let my mouth go too far," he said at one point. - The world consists of lots of problems and the worst thing is that we in the west can look away or shrug. When I get involved in something that happens, I immediately start pondering how it can be visualized, he stated on one occasion and pointed out Toivo Lundmark in a newspaper interview a few years ago. - My art comments on the world, to change it is unfortunately rare. So if what I do is perceived as beautiful, it depends more on the material than on the motif. I always try to highlight the properties of the material, he further emphasized. Lundmark is publicly represented in many places in Sweden, but also in Norway. He has had solo exhibitions at even more, including in the US and Germany. A few years ago, he also exhibited in Piteå-Tidningen's art foyer. During the 1980s, two television programs about his art were shown on Swedish television. Previously, Toivo Lundmark was politically involved and then sat on the Piteå municipality's culture committee. He was a member of the artists' national organization. Lundmark's leisure time was taken up over the years by hunting, fishing, nightlife in the forest, literature, theater, general politics, philosophy, aesthetics and spending time with people. The cottage in Gråträsk was one of his best strawberry places, almost as long as he himself was an artist. His closest are two daughters and a son with families and life partner Sara Arnia. | |

The most part of his music is produced with the aka "[a=Mailu]" ("Hammer" in basque language) . Igor describes his musical process as "therapy". As a result of this process, his musical compositions can cover a very wide range of styles that includes IDM, experimental, ambient, breakcore, industrial, electro, techno, house, jazz, funk, breakbeat, drum & bass or a very own music style called by himself as "euskobeat". Beyond this variety of musical proposals, Igor's music is recognizable by his characteristic way of playing the piano and keyboards. |

| Search | Add | 2 | Michael Haneke | Austrian film director and screenwriter (b. 23 March 1942, Munich, Germany). Michael Haneke authored twelve feature-length films, often reflecting modern society's most controversial topics. Praised for outstanding cinematography and meticulous approach to every aspect of his oeuvre, Haneke won over 100 prestigious accolades. He is the only Austrian director to earn two Palme d'Or awards at the Cannes Film Festival in three years (and just the seventh filmmaker in the competition's history who achieved this). Michael Haneke worked in theater, staging several plays by Goethe, Strindberg and [a=Heinrich von Kleist], and two of Mozart's operas: Don Giovanni (2006) at the [l=Opéra National de Paris] at Palais Garnier and Così fan Tutte (2013) for Madrid's [l=Teatro Real]. He also teaches at MDW's Film Academy in Vienna. Haneke grew up in a family of professional actors; his mother later remarried composer [a=Alexander Steinbrecher]. Michael studied at Vienna University but didn't excel academically, spending more time at local movie theaters. In 1974, he debuted as a TV director, producing seven television films and mini-series for various Austrian and German broadcasters and channels over the next fifteen years, such as [l=Südwestfunk], [l=ORF], [l=ZDF], [l=Sender Freies Berlin] and [l=Saarländischer Rundfunk]. In May 1989, Haneke's first feature-length film, The Seventh Continent, premiered to much notoriety in Cannes and Munich, portraying an unmotivated and unexplained murder-suicide of a prosperous, "cookie-cutter" bourgeois family. In one of the cornerstone scenes, they cut all their cash and flush it down the toilet. Haneke predicted it would be the most offensive and disturbing for the audience; he claimed that in modern society, "the idea of destroying money is more taboo than parents killing their child and themselves." Indeed, he later witnessed people walking out of the cinema in shock during the money-flushing scene. The Seventh Continent started Michael Haneke's "emotional glaciation" trilogy, which explored the progressive societal alienation in Austria, followed by Benny's Video (1992) and 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (94). It also established some recurring traits in Haneke's films, such as almost exclusively diegetic music (i.e., no "offscreen" soundtrack besides what characters are playing or listening to). The movie won the [l=Film Fest Gent]'s "Georges Delerue Prize" for Best Use of Music in Film. In 1997, Michael Haneke wrote and directed Funny Games, filmed by [a=Jürgen Jürges] and starring [a=Ulrich Mühe] with [a=Susanne Lothar] as lead characters (who are married in real life and frequently worked with Haneke), and [a=Frank Giering] as one of the villains. Commonly misunderstood as horror or "slasher," the movie was created as a commentary on how violence is presented in the media — extremely brutal, yet entirely pointless. Following a "mainstream" breakthrough with his 2001 French film The Piano Teacher and the commercial success of Cachè (2005), Haneke revisited "Funny Games" a decade later — this time, as he always intended, set in Hollywood. Premiered in October 2007 at [l=BFI]'s London Film Festival and in January 2008 at [l=Sundance Film Festival] in the USA, Funny Games was a rare example of a "shot-for-shot" remake. Haneke used the same house's interior and props and collaborated with distinguished cinematographer [a=Darius Khondji], painstakingly replicating every detail, including lighting and back tones in every frame. Thus, the only difference was in the English-speaking cast, featuring [a=Tim Roth] with [a=Naomi Watts] as a tortured couple and [a=Michael Pitt] with [a=Brady Corbet] as assailants. | |
