Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Rusk returned home to BC in 1953 and by 1955 was hosting a country music show on CHFN and playing local dances fronting the Harry Rusk Dance band. He moved to Edmonton in 1965, which he would call home until 1992. Since 1990 he has had a travelling ministry with his wife, Gladys. He has recorded more than 55 albums and sold more than two million records. Started writing in his spare time - also about astronomy and photography - first for Radio Bulletin for which Jhr. Roëll also had him tied up and later for Luister. Many thought he was the editor-in-chief of that magazine. After 25 years he thanked for the honor because of continuous intervention in his articles. I was particularly interested in research on speakers and pu elements. As the only reviewer spoke excellent Japanese, but is there - also the only one! - never been. Below are twenty articles by him that are representative of his style and insight.

However, since it was originally part of the State Academic Singing Choir of St. Petersburg, it has long roots. Search Add 13 Hair Peace Salon Hair Peace Salon is considered one of the most celebrated indie-rock & power-pop bands in Belarus. The band was formed in 1998. They are a former stage of Bristeil, having over 15 years on the scene path with mostly English language songs. In 2012 the band released the first full LP 'Gentleman', which received positive feedback from music fans and experts. The band members have no hurry to making music. The guys are still young and still having fun: self progress + satisfaction. :) Since 2007 the band has won several awards of rock-n-roll contests, their songs are constantly on-air. The band has taken part in many TV and live radio-shows and hooked a lot of festivals in Belarus and abroad. In mass media their music is described like entwined desperate energy with romantic notes of melancholy and sadness filled deep lyrics with soul uneasiness and plaintive hope for happiness. The music is intense, but melodic and lyrics are a kind of anthem to nobility, firmness and generosity with a bit of self irony and eccentricity. Hair Peace Salon music is imbued with absolutely perceptible emotions, a hook will be hardly to make a jump off from. :)

Maiden name Solveig Leiditz, daughter of Swedish/Norwegian visual artist Ingegerd Risberg-Leiditz, who also designed some of her record sleeves. Artist name Solveig Löwenhard and later Susanne Löwenhard - since it was easier to pronounce. She was known for songs such as "Kåk i Haga", "Ragnarök" and "Saltstoden", as well as for her children's songs. She managed to make five LPs, of which three for the adult audience and two for children. The children's songs also found their way into the "Klapp och Klang" records, which sold gold and thus gave the songs a very wide distribution. She was also known for her translations from Norwegian, of songs such as "Vi ska inte sova bort sommarnatten" and much more. In addition to her own records, she was active in Visans Vänner in Gothenburg, participating in their compilation album from the 60s (which also collected artists such as Evert Taube and Alf Hambe) and was herself one of the forces behind a later collection in the 70s. her nephew Ingemar Ragnemalm performed with her a couple of times on certain stages in Gothenburg, but around the turn of the millennium she definitely stopped singing. In her last years she lived in Vegahemmet in Gothenburg where she was cared for. Decades of anorexia finally took their toll. Her husband Percy Löwenhard (magician and pianist ”Mr Percy”) had already died a number of years before her.

Search Add 13 Robert Gayler Robert Augustus Gayler Robert Gayler (6 May 1873, New York — 15 February 1954, Interlachen, Florida) was an American pianist, organist, celesta player, arranger, and music pedagogue. He worked at [l=Edison Records] between 1916 and 1937, supervising the New York Recording Studio team and appearing on numerous releases as an accompanist. In later years, Gayler taught at the Florida Southern College, serving as Professor of Organ and Dean of the School of Music. He was married to soprano singer Marie Fahnestock Stoddart (1878—1939). Gayler showcased a natural talent in early childhood; at fifteen, he already worked as an organist at one of the largest churches in Brooklyn. Robert studied piano with [a=Xaver Scharwenka] and Almon Kincaid Virgil (1842—1921), among others, and organ with Robert J Winterbottom (1855—1941). Between 1903 and 1908, Robert Gayler worked as an operatic coach at [l=The Metropolitan Opera House]. He established a prolific stage career, performing as a piano accompanist with renowned opera and concert singers and cited among the country's foremost Celesta players (also called a "bell-piano" and invented circa 1860s, it was a hammer-struck idiophone with a keyboard about the size of an upright piano). Gayler served as a conductor and musical director at several churches and ensembles in Brooklyn, New Jersey, Long Island, and Branford, Connecticut. He joined [l=Edison Laboratories] in late 1916, appearing in the November issue of Edison Phonograph Monthly with a short bio and his Celesta rendition of "Christmas Eve" released on Blue Amberol 4-minute cylinder. Gayler subsequently made records on other mediums, including the short-lived "Royal Purple Amberol" series (identical to Blue Amberol but dyed in the distinctive bright purple as a marketing ploy) and several generations of vertical-cut Diamond Discs, from the earlier embossed records to the latest printed "white paper" label editions. In 1919, Robert Gayler participated in the iconic series of Sergei Rachmaninoff's recordings, where he performed original works on "S. D. Lauter & Co" concert grand (one of the few models produced by Newark-based manufacturer founded by German-American piano maker Solomon David Lauter (1827—1885) in 1862). The label's founder and great inventor, Thomas Edison, was practically deaf, with only 20% hearing left in his right ear (after scarlet fever and head trauma in his teenage years). An engineer and technician first and foremost, Edison wasn't even a music lover and lacked sophistication, knowledge, or particular taste. Nevertheless, he insisted on personally vetting the catalog and approving each signee. In the 2007 biography "The Wizard of Menlo Park," its author Randall Stross gives a few examples of Edison's notoriously bad A&R decisions; he rejected most popular songs as "miserable dance and ragtime selections," claimed that jazz was "for the nuts" and compared one performance with "the desperate moan of dying animals," and discarded [a=The Metropolitan Opera] as "lacking tune." Unsurprisingly, Thomas Edison declared an awkward, tall Russian genius Rachmaninoff, with his unprecedented technique as a mere "pounder" in the first audition. Robert Gayler and the label staff had to beg and plee with Edison to reconsider his dismissive opinion before he finally agreed to sign a ten-record deal.

Chaisson got the boys a contract with ABC records who put Felton Jarvis from Nashville in charge of their work. It was a bright, sunny day with the sky a perfect shade of blue, and he was truly inspired by the absolute majesty and splendor of the moment. On landing, he wrote his now famous sonnet on the back of a letter which he had earlier written his parents. Three days later, on another bright and sunny day, John Gillespie Magee, Jr. was killed when the Spitfire he was flying collided with another aircraft in mid-air. Several days later, his parents received the letter he had written, and on the back was his poem, "High Flight". It is now a permanent entry in the British Flying Training Manual and the freshman handbook, Contrails, at the United States Air Force Academy.

Search Add 13 Digital Horizons Justin Ludford Formed in 1988 after a discovery of Tangerine Dream and a purchase of a £130 mono Casio keyboard. Based in Thetford, Norfolk, UK. Justin Ludford is the founding and to this date sole member of Digital Horizons. Born in 1973, with a continued interest in electronic music, a bedroom studio culture progressed to the present day. Then, after a series of home produced cassette recordings, in 1994 a PC allowed the start of digital recording that spawned its first CDr release with 'A Face In The Crowd' (2002). This co-incided with new Yamaha equipment and a change of studios. Then in 2004 the follow up CDr 'Playback' was released. 2006 saw the opening of the Digital Horizons MySpace website. Projects for 2006/07 included the delayed completion of the third album 'Messenger' released in February 2007 and work on remastering old material from the vaults with the first 'DH Archives' release out in July 2007 titled 'Adjust Your Eyes To The Sun'. The second volume of the 'DH Archives' was released in September 2007. 'Subsonic' proved to be the biggest selling DH title so far. Digital Horizons got airtime on the internet radio station 'TDFZ' and its subsequent Podcast replacement. 2007 rounded off with the release of the first DH EP 'Ions' in December. 2008 began with the release of a compilation album and EP to celebrate 20 years of DH. During 2008 'The Route Cause' CDr was released and a new outlet for DH at www.reverbnation.com. October 2008 saw the release of the 'Dragonfly' EP. 2009 began with the release of the 'Remembrance' CDr, and an updated Overplay website homepage. DH appeared on iTunes and Amazon MP3 for the first time in February 2009. July 2009 saw the release of the album 'ALT - DH Archives Vol 3' continuing the series of releases remixing and digging into the Digital Horizons vaults. During August 2009 the DH studios got some new equipment, the first evidence of which can be heard on the 'Undertow' EP released in October 2009. 2010 began with the release of 'Over Seas', the first full album release from the updated DH studios. An 'Over Seas' EP followed. Next came the London inspired 'Capital' EP release. Summer 2010 brought the album release 'White Skies'. The August 2010 release 'ana.lies' was the first to be fully available to download from iTunes and Amazon MP3. The internet radio show 'Sunday Synth' hosted by Bruce Gall at www.ARFM.co.uk has been featuring several DH tracks alongside a wide range of known and not so known electronic artists. www.reverbnation.com/digitalhorizons became the main gateway to all things DH. November 2010 saw the release of the 'ConSequence' album which has a planned iTunes release early in 2011. 'ConSequence' is the 20th CD release from DH starting with 'A Face In The Crowd' from 2002. DH now had tracks available at www.soundcloud.com as a forum for listeners to comment on the material. The fourth volume of the DH Archives series 'Lost In The Landscape' followed mid 2011 again with an iTunes release and the first to be available from Reverbnation direct as a physical CD. This gave the release a more professional finish to the packaging. July 2011 saw the release of 'canopies', a four track EP also available from Reverbnation as a download and CD. A fan only download track, 'Back To Shore', became available through Reverbnation around the same time. November 2011 came with the release of 'Track and Field', a 10 track album. Both the DH Facebook page and the DH page at Reverbnation continued to receive a steady increase in visitors. January 2012 saw the download only (at this stage) release of the five track 'neon' EP. This release received airplay on the 'Sunday Synth' radio show. This programme also featured a Digital Horizons special during February 2012. March 2012 saw the release of 'Foundations'. This is a compilation of tracks from 2009-2011 plus two exclusive 2012 tracks. May 2012 brought the release of 'Time Machine', a five track EP on CDBaby, Amazon and iTunes download sites. This was the first recording made after recording equipment upgrades were installed in the DH studio. 'A Face From The Past' arrived in August 2012 as an eight track album. A charity compilation download featuring a large range of electronic artists was released from the US site www.soundforgood.bandcamp.com featuring the 'Falling Star' track from DH. A twin release of EP's followed during the Autumn of 2012 with 'Rising Star' and 'Falling Star'. Digital Horizons joined Bandcamp in early 2013. 'Escapade - DH Archives Volume 5' was released in early 2013 with some new sounds added to the DH studio. New artwork software was also used for this release onwards. A second charity compilation download from SoundForGood featured a DH track from the mid 2013 EP release 'Reverberate'. July 2013 saw the release of the nine track album 'Echo Catcher' which also includes a track that appeared on a multi artist compilation download. 2014 began with the release of the 'Ways and Means' EP followed by the sixth release in the DH Archives series 'The Last Cube In The Box'. This release included a track with contribution from my girlfriend. Summer 2014 gave up the release of the eleven track album 'The Avian Flew'. Back into higher altitudes for the following 'Racing Rosetta' EP marking the achievements of the mission to land a probe on a comet. 2014 ended with 'Foundations2', a compilation of recent DH tracks plus a couple of exclusives. 2015 began on a sombre note with the death of Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream, a big influence on DH. To mark the moment 'The Last Chord' EP was released as a free download. This was shortly followed by the long gestating 'Calendar' album recorded over the entire span of 2014. 'Winter's Window', released in March 2015, featured the longest DH track to date at over 30 mins.

Search Add 13 Voodoo Mix Radio Bomb has emerged from the british rave scene. Revealed in the Circus Lunatek sound-system’s background in 1991, he then spreads his infectious sounds on his own pirate radio. Parties in Kent or in London stir up to 5000 people in the depths of disused hangars or during summer festivals, at times alongside Spiral Tribe or Bedlam… When the tory Criminal Justice Bill is voted, prohibiting, amongst numerous liberties, the right to attend tekno gatherings, the british artist migrates to France. Since, lives and dj sets have followed, in France as well as in Eastern Europe (notably 5 months towards Prague in the course of 1995…). In teknivals, in clubs and wherever it seems appropriate to spread the free spirited and open minded tekno word… His sets just like his records cover a large spectrum of electronic emotions, from drum & bass to hardtek, from dub to breakbeat… Concurrently, Radio Bomb initiates a label in 1994 with Network 23’s support. Over 40 000 EPs signed Voodoo Mix have already been sold off. He also mixes tracks for a compilation released to support the Mostar festival (Bosnia) in the course of 2002 and realizes remixes for Crystal Distortion, Sayag Jazz Machine, crossover french band Lofofora, hardcore dub french posse Burning Heads, electronic dub french crew High Tone, etc. He also develops « Cube » : a musical concept whose live performances include Philippe Garcia (Cosmic Connection & Eric Truffaz’ drummer), D'Ostance (sax/flute) and Voodoo Mix (technology).

Search Add 13 Stephen Shafer During the 1990s, Stephen Shafer was the director of promotions, marketing, and production for Moon Ska Records, the leading independent ska label in the U.S. He supervised the production of over 90 albums and produced nine compilations, created and signed bands to the Ska Satellite budget imprint, and shot and directed the label's first music video for The Toasters ("2 Tone Army"), which premiered on MTV's 120 Minutes and was regularly aired on MTV and M2. In late 1999, Steve founded 7 Wonders of the World Music, the first digital download-only ska and reggae label, which featured releases from two dozen bands from around the globe, and sold digital music online two years before the iTunes store launched. After taking a few years off from the music industry, Steve started The Duff Guide to Ska blog in 2008 and began reviewing ska records, concerts, books, and films—and hasn't stopped writing about ska music since. Steve is the author of "The Duff Guide to 2 Tone," which features over 70 reviews of reissues of 2 Tone albums from The Specials & The Special AKA, The Selecter, The Beat, Madness, The Bodysnatchers, and Bad Manners, as well as write-ups of their more recent records, gigs, books, and movies. With a foreword by Gaz Mayall (The Trojans, Gaz's Rockin' Records, Gaz's Rockin' Blues, and co-writer of The Bodysnatchers' "Ruder Than You"), The Duff Guide to 2 Tone draws from over 12 years of Shafer’s reviews from his Duff Guide to Ska blog.
Search Add 13 Tawn Mastrey Tawn Mastrey (August 20, 1954 – October 2, 2007) was an American disc jockey, music video producer, one of rock radio's top media personalities. She hosted a daily show on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hair Nation. Mastrey was heard nationally on Westwood One Entertainment's Absolutely Live High Voltage every other week. Mastrey hosted, wrote, produced and syndicated her own radio specials, RockZone and Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Happy Hour, through Mastrey Productions, Inc. She did voice-overs, owned her own video production company, Ladies In Production Services, and wrote a cookbook, Eat This. Mastrey had hosted radio shows in California for KQLZ Pirate Radio in Los Angeles, KNAC in Long Beach, KLSX in Los Angeles, KMEL in San Francisco, and KSJO in San Jose, before appearing on KUFO in Portland, Oregon, in the late 1990s, and at KXXR in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At KNAC, Mastrey was known as the 'Leather Nun," a nickname she was accorded by a San Francisco-area radio station program director, who thought she resembled a character from a German comic book with that name. Mastrey was one of the first DJ's to play AC/DC in the US after Bill Bartlett, Program Director of WPDQ FM/WAIV in Jacksonville led the way. When available only as import albums, AC/DC's first albums High Voltage (Aus.) (1975), T.N.T. (1975), and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (Aus.) (1976) were immediately added for airplay following the successful heavy airplay of High Voltage (Int.) (1976) which always summoned a flood of listener telephone requests. Soon after several in studio and on air appearances by the band that preceded their first US tour, Tawn with KSJO developed a close relationship with AC/DC's Angus Young and Bon Scott who returned for several personal appearances around KSJO's San Jose Market appearing in the KSJO Rock "n" Roll Circus".
