Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 13 | Electric Looking Glass | Electric Looking Glass is a baroque pop group from Los Angeles, California. Expect flash melodies in full harmony, with jangly guitars, whirling Hammond, delicate Mellotron and a fab thumping back beat. Sounds of yesterday and visions of tomorrow; a new reflection in pop. Resplendent in their best Carnaby gear this could easily be mistaken for some vintage footage that turned up in a dusty tin at a California auction house. These guys could have been there when The Byrds took The Beatles on a trip in the valley. The realest deal. ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS could only be more perfect if, in reality, it’s still 1967 and we really shouldn’t have had the brown acid. What a trip! The last 63 years has just been our subconscious bending our minds, Sgt Pepper is still teaching the band to play, peace and love reign supreme and the future is bright. To Dream A Dream indeed! Fresh off of their recent debut single on Hypnotic Bridge Records, here comes the second single from ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS via the tastemakers at 13 O’Clock Records. The Los Angeles quartet serve up a double A-sider with a couple of dandy gems loaded with 60’s-style baroque psychedelic flashes and smothered with sugar coated pop-psych goodness! ‘Daffodil Tea Shoppe’ and ‘Dream A Dream’ are both jangly pop songs delivered with all the trimmings, from Mellotron and piano punctuations on to well-crafted vocal harmonies. A confectionery two-sider sure to appease your sweet tooth cravings! Our very own Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills described ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS as “a wholesome quartet that absolutely nails the baroque and psychedelic pop sounds prevalent on both East and West Coasts during the heady days of 1967-68. Recalls the Left Banke, Curt Boettcher, the Peanut Butter Conspiracy et-al and truly captures the sound” //Shindig Mag

Search | Add | 13 | Tarune | Giullian Yao Gioiello | Tarune is the solo-project of Giullian Yao Gioiello. From the East Village, NY, with a mixed-asian background, Tarune grew up with a diverse range of influences, singing in church choirs & meditations, listening to a mix of 00's R&B, alt-rock and the Beatles, all while studying Spanish classical guitar as a boy. Enamored with prolific singer-songwriters / producers like James Blake, Frank Ocean and Bon Iver, Tarune writes, performs and produces his music on his own, entirely from his bedroom studio, embracing imperfections and ambience as his calling card. His intimate and meditative influences seep into every recording. toeing the line between chanty soulful confessionals and melancholy love poems. He invites you into his head with his pared-back production and enveloping cinematic mixes. As a teenager, he learned recording and mixing while engineering a psychology radio-show in NYC and self-educating through experimentation on his laptop. In the years following, he taught himself how to produce and mix, vowing to always record music that felt undeniably organic, often utilizing field recordings & incorporating aspects of narrative sound-design to invite his audience into an even more intimate world. He has also composed scores for short-films and produces for other artists, such as the single "Bed" by Justice Smith. Along with that, he directed and edited his own music video for Goodnight Baby, and produced music videos for the likes of Maya Hawke & Samia. |

TR: Adını Edip Cansever'in Günlerden şiirinden alan projenin başlangıç noktası şiir bestelemekti. EN: "Mavi Huydur Bende" began in 2015 as a solo project in the genres of indie and alternative pop-rock, initiated by Serkan Atay. The starting point of the project, named after Edip Cansever's poem "Günlerden", was to compose music inspired by poetry. Within this concept, many poems were set to music. However, preferring to be more original before releasing these songs, the project abandoned this idea and started focusing solely on songs written and composed by itself. In 2016, the project released its first single, "Şehri Getir Gel". In 2017, Serkan Atay met guitarist Okan Acarbaş. The duo decided to continue their journey together and in 2018, they released their first album, "Bahçe", recorded in their home studio. Their song titled "Geçmiş Ama Bitmemiş" from the album was featured in the TV series "Çocukluk". This album was followed by five singles. "Mavi Huydur Bende" describes itself as "an independent music project that feeds on anything that involves humans and can touch humans, and pursues good music." |

Search | Add | 13 | Patrick Upton | Patrick Neil Upton | After the demise of his band the Spiral Starecase, lead vocalist and guitarist Pat Upton returned back to his hometown of Geraldine, Alabama and took stock. Soured by the vagaries of the business end of rock & roll, he put his career on hold and his life in self-imposed exile, developing his golfing habit to a major degree. After a downtime period, he eased himself back into it, doing session work and finally landing a permanent job as a backup vocalist in Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band. He stayed with Rick for several years (he can be heard on Nelson's Playing to Win album) until home and hearth beckoned again, opening up a local nightclub in Guntersville, his club being the last place Nelson worked before flying out that night to his fiery death in a plane crash in 1985. Once again, Upton eased out of music, only to be called on again when he became a mainstay of the California-based oldies show 30 Years Of Rock'n'Roll in the late 1980s. Still more than capable of stealing the show with nothing more than his magnificent tenor voice, Pat Upton remained active, writing and recording new material and performing when he "damn well feels like it". Pat Upton passed away on July 27, 2016, at the age of 75. |

Search | Add | 13 | Елена Калугина | Елена Владимировна Калугина | Founder of [a1747145], chorusmaster Elena Kalugina (January 21, 1902 - 1962) - founder of the Omsk Russian Folk Choir, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, graduate of the Omsk Music College, researcher of the song traditions of the Siberian region, promoter of folk culture. A subtle musician, a multi-talented personality, she will forever remain in history as the founder of a unique professional Russian song group. Elena Kalugina devoted 40 of her 60 years to the development of the musical culture of the region. Here her rare musical talent and organizational skills were revealed. Elena Kalugina graduated with honors from the Omsk Music College in vocal class and three courses at the Correspondence Institute of Musician Teachers at the Moscow Conservatory. She trained as a choir conductor, but the war prevented her from completing her studies. In Omsk, she worked as a singer on the radio, as an accompanist in a choreographic group, led vocal clubs, and was the organizer of several choral groups. She devoted all her teaching talent to the professional training of vocalists and choirmasters, working at the Omsk Music School. Elena Kalugina trained a galaxy of gifted musicians. Almost all honored artists of Russia - singers of the Omsk Folk Choir - are students of Elena Vladimirovna. But the main work of Elena Kalugina’s life, with which she glorified herself and the Omsk region, was the creation of the State Omsk Russian Folk Choir. Having never been involved in folklore before 1950, Elena Vladimirovna managed to make a lot of recordings of Siberian folk songs within a few months and began processing them for the choir. During her trips around her native land, she collected many original songs and dance tunes. Kalugina’s invaluable merit was that in forming the repertoire of the Omsk choir, she did not follow the path of imitation of already known groups, but took as a basis truly Siberian folk art, preserving the original style of song and dance. The name of Kalugina is associated with the emergence of the very concept of “Siberian folk song”. Some researchers denied the presence of an original choral singing culture in Siberia. Through enormous research and collecting activities, Elena Vladimirovna was able to refute such speculation. She was also the first to use a truly innovative technique - a choral performance of a Russian song without a conductor, and this manner was picked up not only in the country, but throughout the world. Over the 10 years of Elena Kalugina’s work in the Omsk choir, the collective has taken a special place among other Russian folk choirs, worthily representing the creativity of our region around the world. Just three years after the creation of the team, its first victory happened - at the World Festival in Bucharest. The Omsk choir won 1st prize and a gold medal, beating 32 competitors from around the world. This victory became the most striking milestone in Elena Kalugina’s creative activity; it opened the international touring life of the choir. |

From there he went into club djing through contacts made at the radio stations where he had worked. By 1991 James had begun to press his own vinyl after being inspired by certain records heard whilst managing a record shop. At that time, the sound in the North of England was the Italo Piano sound. This was the sound James stuck with from the early 90s when he released "Whitney Tune" in 1992 through to the release of “Blurred" in 1996. “Blurred” got James his first UK top ten chart hit as Pianoman. Other aliases he has used are Bass Boyz, Piano City Productions, DJ Friendly and Technical steps. After the worldwide success of “Blurred” (which sold 380, 000 copies), problems at the record label James was signed to (London / FFRR) prompted him to start his own labels and publishing company to look after his own material. James currently owns two record labels, Solo Vinyl and Salford Central Records, along with a publishing company, Blurred Music Publishing. Since 2004 James has concentrated on the genre of house music once again, particularly electro and funky styles. He also writes original songs for his own productions at the hd1 recording studio based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. |

Search | Add | 13 | Loukass | Lou-Kass | In the mid-1980s, the Fox band, made up of the brothers Martín Joffré (bass), Juan Pablo Joffré (guitar), Rodrigo "Grillo" Villegas (guitar) and Rodolfo Ortiz (drums) performed versions of songs by Metallica and other bands. . This group had a moderate reception from the Bolivian public and was later dissolved. After the dissolution of Fox, the members of the band independently belonged to some bands from La Paz such as Chuy & Fly and Drago Drogan, among others, while Rodrigo Villegas became one of the animators of the improvised sessions at the pub "El Socavón", where he was reunited with his former Fox teammates and met vocalist Christian Krauss. Between the two of them, they decided to try their luck and form a new band. That was how Lou Kass was born. The owner of "El socavón" baptized the group "Lucas", a name that was later changed to Lou Kass. In 1992 they released their first album Lou Kass, which was followed by Akasa (1994), which includes songs like "No Reces al Sol" and "Feel High". In full success of the band, the vocalist Christian Krauss decided to travel to Germany without giving further explanations, forcing the rest of the group to continue with the presentations as a trio but without diminishing the receptivity of the band. Finally, during the concert in La Paz on the "Tour SIDA" tour, Loukass recorded his live album entitled Akasa ¡En vivo! and later separated. |

Search | Add | 13 | Sascha Ciccopiedi | Influenced by the moods and vibrations of the techno scene at the end of the 90s, the passionate 18 year old Sascha began to work for the producer tandu / ayla for three years. With him he traveled to the thunderous clubs of that time and gradually grew into the scene. The full-time job there drives him as a young sound arranger right into the musical scene! In the reactor, which at that time belonged to one of the trance shops, he quickly earned himself a place as a resident and got involved with key figures like Marc Spoon, DJ Dag ... But always fascinated by the avant-garde of straight, technoid beats - there is only one direction for him: forward and straight ahead! He pursues this passion during his residency in the Jailhouse - which stood for deep, technoid and unstoppable club nights. Sascha Ciccopiedi has remained true to this passion to this day. Technically very strong, he arranges with a lot of passion and respect for the individual tracks - on the basis of 4 decks - sets with recognition value! Nuanced, powerful minimal tracks that drive you and have a strong meditative character distinguish Sascha Ciccopiedi as an unmistakable artist. He strictly refuses to allow himself to be categorized into genre boundaries and their typical grids. In his role as an artist, Sascha Ciccopiedi is absolutely unique and does not need to hide behind a pseudonym. With his real name he signals self-confidence and is committed to his individuality, which is clearly evident in each of his sets and productions. Less is more - Sascha Ciccopiedi! The charismatic and energetic Italian always knows how to convey the fine line between minimalism and monotony in perfect balance in the throbbing rhythm. He stands for passion for music and fills his sets with a lot of emotion without looking at any charts. His sound arrangement is very diverse and varied, consisting of deep, tribal, percussive and soulful, mediative techno.

Starting from film, from visual and sound experiments initially tied to super-8 shorts, the group draws on various audio-video production techniques, ‘sabotaging' the initial media image to catch viewers off-guard.
