Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Sunny Liu was a well-known tenor soloist in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the last half of the twentieth century. Sunny was encouraged to become a gospel singer by one of his elementary school teachers. Search | Add | 13 | Tarune | Giullian Yao Gioiello | Tarune is the solo-project of Giullian Yao Gioiello. From the East Village, NY, with a mixed-asian background, Tarune grew up with a diverse range of influences, singing in church choirs & meditations, listening to a mix of 00's R&B, alt-rock and the Beatles, all while studying Spanish classical guitar as a boy. Enamored with prolific singer-songwriters / producers like James Blake, Frank Ocean and Bon Iver, Tarune writes, performs and produces his music on his own, entirely from his bedroom studio, embracing imperfections and ambience as his calling card. His intimate and meditative influences seep into every recording. toeing the line between chanty soulful confessionals and melancholy love poems. He invites you into his head with his pared-back production and enveloping cinematic mixes. As a teenager, he learned recording and mixing while engineering a psychology radio-show in NYC and self-educating through experimentation on his laptop. In the years following, he taught himself how to produce and mix, vowing to always record music that felt undeniably organic, often utilizing field recordings & incorporating aspects of narrative sound-design to invite his audience into an even more intimate world. He has also composed scores for short-films and produces for other artists, such as the single "Bed" by Justice Smith. Along with that, he directed and edited his own music video for Goodnight Baby, and produced music videos for the likes of Maya Hawke & Samia. |

Search | Add | 13 | Diamond Kobra | Diamond Kobra is: B.B. Baconsson | Keys, Synthesizers, Voice Otto Løfgren | Synthesizers, Voice, Programming WE ARE DIAMOND FUCKIN’ KOBRA Back in 1984 Elin & Emeli-Sofi Lundin from Sweden started a band they named Diamond Kobra. As they had no recording equipment, they tried to figure out a way to get their music on tape. One night they had the chance to get into the Nightingale Studios for small money after the session of another group. They jammed the whole night and recorded a demo tape. Unfortunately a week later the studio was destroyed by a winter storm. It was rebuilt the same year by a new owner and the demo went into a provisional archive with the other remaining material from the studio. In 2017, 34 years later, Rögnvaldr Nyström bought the studio and found the Diamond Kobra demotracks. He remembered the last name on the tape: Lundin and asked his friend Otto Løfgren, who had married a woman from the Lundin family. It turned out his wife Ida was the aunt of the girls. Løfgren is a talented programmer and tech nerd and his friend Bjørn Bors Baconsson has a studio with a tape machine. As they heard the Diamond Kobra tape they knew they had to make an album out of it. It sounded like pure joy from the ’80s. They teamed up with their friends and fellow musicians to bring the music back to life and make an album out of it. The sound from the 1984 recordings was great electronical music that had its own beautiful sound. It was time to add more vicious synthesizers and ripping guitars to blend it all into what Diamond Kobra does best: High-Voltage Darksynth Baconsson, who comes from a film scoring background, wrote a story for the album. A vision about a far future in which each song is one chapter of a novel. The characters and their story came together in the concept album which also contains soundtrack elements. The project began in early 2018 when recordings started in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and USA. Løfgren and Baconsson were extremely happy when outstanding musicians like [a288132] of [a262577], [a3895091] of [a291496], K.D. Johansen of Supercharger and the famous Amott Brothers: [a309929] & [a579681] joined for the album production. The cover artwork was done by well-known movie poster artist Tom Hodge of The Dude Designs.

Search | Add | 13 | Dean G Smith | Dean G. Smith aka Deangersmith (born 11 February 1969) is a South African–born musician and vocalist based in London, UK. His primary instrument is guitar and vocals although he began his career in Johannesburg, South Africa as a drummer and vocalist in the thrash metal band Ragnärok. He is the founding member of several South African and UK heavy metal bands from mid 80's to present day, including Ragnärok, Odyssey, 2 Dogs Funking, Brothering, PijinFist, Mouthful of Flies and Philistine. He appeared as guest vocals for The Blast and played rhythm guitar for the female fronted rock band Balance. He was the creator, producer and host of the radio show, The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaf Radio. Inspired by AC/DC and Metallica in his teens, Dean founded the thrash metal band Ragnärok as drummer and vocalist in 1986. They were considered the initiators of Thrash Metal in South Africa ahead of the burgeoning metal and hard rock scene in-spite of the political climate. The band unofficially released one demo album in 1989, Troops of Thunder. During this time Dean was also guest vocals on The Blast’s 1988 self released two track 7" as lead vocalist on Little Sister and backing on Not Quite The Same Thing, recorded at Universal Studios. Their demo album was re-released as a CDR in 2018 due to new demand from fans in Europe. From 1991 onwards Dean played guitar in the band Odyssey, was lead vocalist and rhythm guitar in the band 2 Dogs Funking, founded Brothering as lead vocals and guitar in 1997, winning the Battle of the Bands. He toured extensively around Southern Africa with these bands. Projects during that time include Pijinfist and the female fronted rock band, Balance. In the UK in 2004, Dean founded Mouthful of Flies as guitarist and backing vocalist with Dan Stevenson from Fallout and Bloodstone as lead vocals and guitars. The band released Ten Negative Sixes in 2007. The album received excellent reviews by Malcolm Dome in Metal Hammer, Kerrang and all major Metal magazines, and they played numerous London venues throughout 2008 and 2009. From 2013 to 2014 Dean produced and hosted The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaff Radio as a way to showcase African metal and hard rock to a wider audience. In his own words, "African bands generally have a huge struggle with regards to internet access and bandwidth issues and publicity, my aim was to get them on Radio and expose them to a wider audience, Dilligaf has an extensive fan base and provided the perfect platform to expose these bands to listeners from all over the world.” From 2010 onwards Dean has released solo albums under the name Deangersmith. Deangersmith’s latest album, Lead Us To Your Taker (Disable The Corrupt) contains ten songs released over 2020 and 2021, with the complete album available worldwide on all platforms on 25th September 2021. Originally inspired by the political climate in the world, much of his song writing on this album is driven by themes of Equality and somewhat influenced by the current Pandemic.

Search | Add | 13 | Grimm Jack | The Grimm Jack story began in 1985 with guitarist Jimmie Mack and drummer Dave Leeds, two Long Island rockers who joined forces to create a contemporary rock band with an edge. Original members included vocalist Robin DesForges, guitarist Rich Daly, and bassist Sean O’Neill. The group released their first single “Janet”, on the independent label CYN CITY RECORDS in 1986. The following year brought the release of a five-song EP entitled GO FOR YOUR GUNS, which gained airplay on radio outside the New York metro area. By 1988, Grimm Jack shifted into full throttle; original vocalist Robin DesForges departed and was replaced by singer Billy Kohout. Bassist Scott Bittner was on board, and the group started gaining national recognition with the release of their next EP, PARTNERS IN CRIME. This recording featured the songs “One Track Mind” and “Shy Boy”, both which gained a steady amount of airplay on various rock radio stations, especially in the south and mid-Atlantic regions. Legendary music publications such as CIRCUS and HIT PARADER gave Grimm Jack’s PARTNERS IN CRIME very positive reviews during 1988, and the group was also featured prominently in numerous regional and local magazines nationwide. In early 1989, Daly and Bittner chose to part company with Grimm Jack and guitarist Tom Lestat and bassist Paul Vassa were brought into the band. With this lineup in place, Grimm Jack forged ahead to create a respectable reputation based on energetic live performances and high caliber songs that fans still remember today.

Search | Add | 13 | Electric Looking Glass | Electric Looking Glass is a baroque pop group from Los Angeles, California. Expect flash melodies in full harmony, with jangly guitars, whirling Hammond, delicate Mellotron and a fab thumping back beat. Sounds of yesterday and visions of tomorrow; a new reflection in pop. Resplendent in their best Carnaby gear this could easily be mistaken for some vintage footage that turned up in a dusty tin at a California auction house. These guys could have been there when The Byrds took The Beatles on a trip in the valley. The realest deal. ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS could only be more perfect if, in reality, it’s still 1967 and we really shouldn’t have had the brown acid. What a trip! The last 63 years has just been our subconscious bending our minds, Sgt Pepper is still teaching the band to play, peace and love reign supreme and the future is bright. To Dream A Dream indeed! Fresh off of their recent debut single on Hypnotic Bridge Records, here comes the second single from ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS via the tastemakers at 13 O’Clock Records. The Los Angeles quartet serve up a double A-sider with a couple of dandy gems loaded with 60’s-style baroque psychedelic flashes and smothered with sugar coated pop-psych goodness! ‘Daffodil Tea Shoppe’ and ‘Dream A Dream’ are both jangly pop songs delivered with all the trimmings, from Mellotron and piano punctuations on to well-crafted vocal harmonies. A confectionery two-sider sure to appease your sweet tooth cravings! Our very own Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills described ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS as “a wholesome quartet that absolutely nails the baroque and psychedelic pop sounds prevalent on both East and West Coasts during the heady days of 1967-68. Recalls the Left Banke, Curt Boettcher, the Peanut Butter Conspiracy et-al and truly captures the sound” //Shindig Mag

Search | Add | 13 | Julien Jalâl Al-Din Weiss | Bernard Weis | Alsatian by his father, Swiss by his mother, Bernard Weiss was born in Paris in 1953 and died in Paris January 02, 2015. In the beginning of the Seventies, like many of teenagers of his generation, this guitarist of western classical formation (he entered the " Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris " in 1965) calls in question the values of the Western culture and started to hit the road of the trip. His voyages took him to California, to Morocco, then to the Antilles; that opened his cultural horizons and was given the name Julien by a young Venezuellian woman, Isabelle Sotto, daugther of the founder of kinetic art. When return to France in 1974, he composed several plays for the traditional guitar, and took part in a creation of the Tunisian director Sharif Allaoui. In 1976 in Paris, during a reception at the future minister of the Egyptian culture, Farouk Hosni, the listening to a disc of the Iraqi musician Mounir Bachir, large main of Oud (Oriental lute captivated him so much so that he gave up the traditional guitar and the jazz harmonies to launch out body and soul in the study of the Arab lute and the refined laws governing the Oriental micro tonal music. But very quickly, the limits of the instrument frustrated him and when he discovered the richnesses offered by the Oriental zither " the qanûn " the search of Julien Weiss took all its dimensions. Consequently he crossed the Orient, from Tunis to Beirut, Baghdad to Cairo, Istanbul to Damas, he followed the teaching of great Masters. Thus he became the disciple then the friend of Mounir Bachir in the honor of whom later he composed a " Bagdadian Suite " interpreted at the time of the Festival of Babylon in Iraq. |

In 2012 the band released the first full LP 'Gentleman', which received positive feedback from music fans and experts. The band members have no hurry to making music. The guys are still young and still having fun: self progress + satisfaction. :) Since 2007 the band has won several awards of rock-n-roll contests, their songs are constantly on-air. The band has taken part in many TV and live radio-shows and hooked a lot of festivals in Belarus and abroad. In mass media their music is described like entwined desperate energy with romantic notes of melancholy and sadness filled deep lyrics with soul uneasiness and plaintive hope for happiness. The music is intense, but melodic and lyrics are a kind of anthem to nobility, firmness and generosity with a bit of self irony and eccentricity. Hair Peace Salon music is imbued with absolutely perceptible emotions, a hook will be hardly to make a jump off from. :)

Search | Add | 13 | E23 | Brian K. Comerford | Best-known for being co-founder of Colorado's longest-running electronic music radio program, Electronic Air on KGNU-FM [kgnu.org], E23 (Brian K. Comerford) has established a sonic-art track record for being a "music worker". His output, as both a DJ and producer, adheres to what he identifies as "illclectronic", often equally informed by electronic dance styles as well as esoteric sound sculptures. Where Electronic Air has largely been an outlet for more conventional electronic dance music and sub-genres, E23's solo and collaborative audio productions have historically tended toward syncopated glitches, droning ambience and art house sound installations. His interest in electronic music began at an early age (the 1976 release of "Sequencer" by Synergy was highly influential, as was the 1968 recording of "Switched-On Bach" by Walter Carlos), and he procured his first synthesizer and electronic drum kit in 1983, coinciding with the standardization of MIDI technology. Beginning original electronic music compositions at the age of 12, he has continued to cultivate sounds primarily in the experimental and underground fringes of electronic music ever since. Citing Throbbing Gristle, Coil, and Psychic TV as major influences, his original works tend to veer between noise, atmospheric, and beat-infused, utilizing numerous samples. He was also a producer in the first wave of Internet Radio. Having co-founded RadioValve.com in the mid-1990s, E23 helped spread the evolution of electronic music and rave culture both on the Web and FM airwaves. He began DJing "Metamorphosis Radio" in 1989 on WPSA-FM at Paul Smith's College, New York, and continued FM broadcast in Texas during 1991-1993 where he also emerged as a club and rave DJ. Relocating to Colorado in 1993 while continuing that work, E23 also began producing a variety of radio programs at KGNU-FM the following year, as well as teaming with Pirate Sound System. The majority of that crew eventuated into the core production team that co-founded KGNU's Electronic Air in 1995, where E23 remained the sole original founding member for over two and a half decades. He additionally co-produces the leadership and technology podcast, >Lead.exe_, and periodically live streams on Twitch. E23 has performed across the state, the nation, and internationally as both a DJ and live producer. He archives many of his mixes on Mixcloud, and selected original tracks on Soundcloud and YouTube. He typically records under his E23 moniker, reserving an alias, Scat, for Hardcore Techno and Dark Ambient productions. Both individually and with long-time collaborator devslashnull, he has produced several collaborative works with lyricist/poet Chris Mosdell (YMO, among many others). He is a member of the "folktop" outfit, OVNI. |

Search | Add | 13 | Morph.Arts | MORPH.Arts/ZOOM | MORPH.Arts was founded in 1998 after leaving the Fanzine Refraktor. Refraktor made it possible to connect with artists and musicians that were interested in improving the creativity of their work. A virtue of necessity was made for Weissenfelser‘n Mission‘2, who badly needed a graphic conversion for their synthiesound. The first artworks und layouts emerged, and were then further developed. Dolor came to MORPH.Arts after seeing their work from the first job, and a collaboration was formed which prepared them for a partnership with ZOOM, with whom M.A worked until 2002. The designs got more professional, and ZOOM saw to it that deadlines were met. M.A/Z worked for :Wumpscut:, Infact and Nobdrun, which lead to a new contact with the industrial project called Ohrenschmerz from Halle/Leipzig. Many different productions for organizers and artists took place, be it for art, CDs, LPs, posters, or flyers. A meeting with the Tesco Organisation was made who needed a website. For awhile it was featured and run by M.A/Z. Again layouts for artists like Sturmovik, Operation Cleansweep were compiled, including the fantastic patch for Genocide Organ. Innumerable flyers and advertisements were made. In 2002 things quieted down for MORPH.Arts/ZOOM. Due to job-related obligations, there was not enough time for creativity. Zoom and MORPH.Arts was out of mind while time was being devoted to a „normal“ social life. The urge, however, was not lost, and so MORPH.Arts continued to work on. Since then nothing but pure artistic projects have been presented. Personally created graphics for artists, friends and acquaintances are being made. The urge for publicity is not a priority, although a request could/would receive a positive reaction. Sources of inspiration are, and were always the works of Stefan Alt [Ant-Zen]. His influence can be seen at the start of M.A/Z. Additionally inspired by the morbidity of H.R. Giger, who else? Non graphic influences also play a role, like the humor of Josef Hader‘s the Austrian formation Pungent Stench, films for example are U-Turn and Tim Burton‘s Ed Wood. As much as I like skeletons and strange humor, Glenn Danzig, the melancholy romantic from Death In June, and the power of Laibach should not be forgotten! The roots clearly run deep in the „black scene“ and Metal with their facets, but the look is not restricted to only this area. M.A/Z is and was always a mix of everything that moves us. |

Search | Add | 13 | Bob Bryden | Canadian songwriter, guitarist, and singer Bob Bryden began his professional music career some time in the early '60s. Over the next four decades he lent his impressive skills to a long line of different bands, appearing on numerous singles and albums with them. Other groups he worked with included the Outcasts, Benzene Jag, the Brick, Age of Mirrors, and the Christopher Columbus Discovery of New Lands Band. When Bryden formed new groups, he usually brought at least a couple of familiar faces along with him. During the latter part of the '70s and even into the early '80s, he tried a turn at a solo career that produced a few more albums. Bob Bryden was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Working with the group Reign Ghost, he saw the release of his first album in 1968. He next recorded with a rock band called by the unlikely name of Christmas. In 1977, Bryden completed his debut solo offering, The Displaced Years. It was released by the Open Heart label and only on cassette. He spent a decade working with other bands before a sophomore solo album hit the market in 1987. Along the way, Bryden appeared on nearly two dozen albums, some reissued years after their original release date.

Search | Add | 13 | Hills Christian Life Centre | Hillsong | Hills Christian Life Centre was the original name of Hillsong Church. The music ministry was known as "[a477770]", "Hillsongs", "Hillsongs Australia" or "Hillsong Music Australia". Around the year 2000, Hills Christian Life Centre merged with Sydney Christian Life Centre and the church was rebranded as "Hillsong Church". Search | Add | 13 | Stephen Shafer | During the 1990s, Stephen Shafer was the director of promotions, marketing, and production for Moon Ska Records, the leading independent ska label in the U.S. He supervised the production of over 90 albums and produced nine compilations, created and signed bands to the Ska Satellite budget imprint, and shot and directed the label's first music video for The Toasters ("2 Tone Army"), which premiered on MTV's 120 Minutes and was regularly aired on MTV and M2. In late 1999, Steve founded 7 Wonders of the World Music, the first digital download-only ska and reggae label, which featured releases from two dozen bands from around the globe, and sold digital music online two years before the iTunes store launched. After taking a few years off from the music industry, Steve started The Duff Guide to Ska blog in 2008 and began reviewing ska records, concerts, books, and films—and hasn't stopped writing about ska music since. Steve is the author of "The Duff Guide to 2 Tone," which features over 70 reviews of reissues of 2 Tone albums from The Specials & The Special AKA, The Selecter, The Beat, Madness, The Bodysnatchers, and Bad Manners, as well as write-ups of their more recent records, gigs, books, and movies. With a foreword by Gaz Mayall (The Trojans, Gaz's Rockin' Records, Gaz's Rockin' Blues, and co-writer of The Bodysnatchers' "Ruder Than You"), The Duff Guide to 2 Tone draws from over 12 years of Shafer’s reviews from his Duff Guide to Ska blog.
