Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Blacky B. Blacky B. was born in Naples on July 27, 1974, from an early age his life is marked by music. He spent his childhood, playing subbuteo and playing music on the dad's turntable. At 13 years explode passion for sounds arriving from London (acid house) and New York (rap), parents give him two turntables and mixer so begins to become familiar with the console, later, his attention is focused on Chicago and Detroit . Rap, house and techno, will remain in the years its landmarks. In the spring of '92 leave turntables and mixer, to explore his passion for music, began to listen to everything and begins to attend one of the social centers of its city (Naples): OFFICINA99, was impressed by 99Posse and Almamegretta. In those years, meets some people who formed the neapolitan's rap underground scene: Domasan, 'Nto, Lucariello. The craving for try and understand the music led him to discover a record store in his district, he meets Diego (KrAtOS) and Paul, with them in the summer of '96 creates a music project: ΞΥΝΑΨΙΣ, a sound hybrid, industrial, electro, dub, the project does not take off it remains only a tape collecting dust. Friendship with Lucariello him to be part of VentoDiVino, a project created by the same Lucariello, the line-up consists of two mc and Blacky B. VentoDiVino course, even as was in fashion at the time called themselves: triphop. With VentoDiVino plays in two evenings in a mini festival dedicated to emerging bands, organized by OFFICINA99 among the participating bands there are also 24Grana. After a short met Maurizio and together create a hip hop project: "Funghi Ladri" money is few and play with a synthesizer lent by friends, with Maurizio produces various beats, the experience not last long. So a few years later they meets again with KrAtOS and after many sleepless nights, spent between the monitor of a pentium, drum machines and risked a complaint for disturbing the peace at night, born MassInternalStandHarD, productions of minimal 4/4, he began working with the first software, together produce a demo (rare): Nacth Hart Nacth Napule, a sort of electro-techno. MassInternalStandHardD will be the first projects electro-Neapolitan to appear on Vitaminic. Together they create a sound very varied and KrAtOS also turns out to be in line with the electro sound of those years. One of the main influences: Orbital, Underworld, Leftfield, Scorn, these 4 rimanarranno over the years (still today) for their two points the reference above of any fashion. Over the years, for the second time their part ways, Blacky B. begins to produce music independently. In those years, the work brings KrAtOS in Greece and Blacky B. in Rome and then in Bari, they work far and each to their own ideas and is at this time that after several attempts with various projects never took off, Blacky B. begins to have the clear idea of working on an album, without imposing any limit of genre: dub, techno, house, hiphop, there must be all in what he does. Between 2007 and 2009 using the forum of Dj Gruff, meet online other producers for most of hiphop and takes part in a project exclusively online: LooperatorItaliani: produce loops on which to freestyle scratch. Still producing loops on his own, until he found with 16 loops, so he creates the looper: Slurp. The initial idea was to evolve individually each of the 16 loops, but in reality it will work only on one: the loop 8 of the looper, and that is how create the track Slurp 08. In the summer of 2012, continuously influenced by the music he hears, Blacky B. resumes contact with KrAtOS they decide the re-birth of the ΞΥΝΑΨΙΣ project, producing two tracks: "Mystical Synthesis" and RDM (Rural Dub Mantra). In September 2012 Blacky B. and Danny Boy give life to a new project: OKIDNA currently with only the production of Geish-a. The summer was very productive, and so Blacky B. finally decides to end the work begun years before to release an album. December 2012 is all set for the album, work dedicated to his friend D.RaD. (R.I.P.) dubmaster of Almamegretta, the album is entitled "Dub Knob", 6 of January 2013 released the album on Bandcamp and later, on February 17, Dast Record.

Search Add 2 Harry D. Cup Michael Christian [a=Harry D. Cup] (Michael Christian) grew up in Elyria, Ohio, a small town outside Cleveland, and began acquiring radio experience while still in high school. Through the years, he worked his way up as a talk show host at numerous stations across the country. In 1979, while working in Cleveland, his life was threatened because of his conservative views and, as a result, he moved to Florida and took the evening shift on Orlando’s WDBO. Over the years, he occasionally stepped beyond his radio microphone, like the country song “Green Grows the Valley” he recorded in 1968 under the name Mike Adams. In 1980 he wrote and recorded “Sick Americans” b/w ”Love Letter” for Silver Pelican Records. The A-side was a spoken word “condemnation of America’s ills” protest recording of sorts, a contrast from Byron McGregor’s hyper-patriotic 1974 hit “Americans.”

Search Add 2 fütwerk. Irrespective of their place on the running order, Tom Szabo & Brayden Warburton of Melbourne based duo fütwerk continue to demonstrate a remarkable ability to impress. Known for impeccable track selection and an uncanny ability to connect to a crowd the duo have earned the attention and respect of the electronic music community, solidifying themselves as a pioneering force in Melbourne’s deep techno movement. The last three years has seen some noteworthy career highlights. These include support sets for musical inspirations Deepbass, Matrixmann and Etapp Kyle, whilst also performing at Burning Seed, Rainbow Serpent and Wildwood. Long-term lovers of electronic music, their voyage into production has drawn heavy sonic influence from their natural surroundings, as well as those more reminiscent of the cosmos and all its wonders. “fütwerk look into the crowd and see an opportunity for communication on a deeper, spiritual level.”

In their latest release If Word Got Out their debut album, Holly Would... perfectly mixed pop melodies with danceable beats and dark guitar tones, scandalous themes, and hints of Hip Hop laced throughout. Search Add 2 Angelo Visone Mariae Nascenti is a one-man industrial music project from Milan, Italy. The creation of Ango Visone, Maria Nascenti has been described as 'dark ambient', 'harsh electronics' and 'ambient industrial'. Songs consist of soundscapes, sometimes employing "found sound", and are frequently accompanied by guest vocalists. The bands' vocals are most often in English, although each release also includes compositions performed in Italian as well, often by Visone himself. Guest vocalists have included Paul Beauchamp of the band Gullinkambi, Fabrizio Madonese Palumbo of the bands Larsen and (r) and G.B. Jones. Massimo and Pierce of Black Sun Productions appear on the recording Morituri Te Salutant, and Ango Visone performed with Black Sun Productions for the recording Anarcadian Night. As well, Mariae Nascenti has performed and recorded with Deathtripper and (r), and toured Italy with Blood Axis. In October of 2007, a new album entitled Raise Your Paw To The Sky And Break The Truce was released on Final Muzik. The recording featured guest vocals by The Lonesome Marias Choir, as well as Artemisia Kendall, Paul Beauchamp, Paola Bianchi, Marc Manning and G.B. Jones, and musicians from the bands DsorDne, Everything Is Fine, Femina Faber, Gullinkambi, Larsen, Maison Concett, Northgate, (r), and Satellite Happy. It was produced by Fabrizio Madonese Palumbo. Ango Visone is also a director of such short films as The Kindness of Your Touch (2006) and The Belly Dance (2008), and the creator of drawings and zines. His art work has been featured in Scott Treleaven's book The Salivation Army Black Book released in 2006 by Printed Matter Inc, and he has had a number of art shows in his native Italy. In 2008, the music of Mariae Nascenti was featured on the soundtrack for the film The Lollipop Generation, directed by G.B. Jones, alongside songs by The Hidden Cameras, Anonymous Boy and Jane Danger.
