Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 10 | Phil Colbert | According to a show biz article in Jet magazine May 06th,1965 page 63, Phil Colbert was referred to as a French Canadian black. He was signed to [l39357] by [a916151] ([a10584]'s husband). He was, very briefly, a member of [a699393] in 1958 but didn't last long enough to record with them. According to Marv Goldberg's essay on the group he was fired after they did some dates at the Golden Hotel in Las Vegas around spring 1958. It looks as if he abandoned his singing career to work in promotion - he was appointed the R&B promotion manager for [l59627] in June 1967 but didn't last long there as he was working for [l46437] by early 1968. He was one of the promotion men for [l34533] in 1970 then moved back to New York in 1971 to work at the short-lived New York Sound label. In January '72 he was working for [a202256]'s [l19965] label as their promotion man for the East Coast and later, in 1976, was made R&B promotion manager for the [l1060] presumably working on the [a136273] and [a693150]. It is doubted that lasted very long as the US London label was on its last legs by that time. The trail goes cold after 1976. It's guessed he long since retired from the music business. | |

| Search | Add | 9 | Baekdoosan | 백두산 | Baekdoosan formed by Yoo Hyeon-Sang and Kim Do-Gyoon. Later, Yoo Hyeon-Sang went on to record several teuroteu (the oldest form of Korean pop music, highly similar to Japanese enka) albums. He was forced to change musical styles in order to gain his love's parents' approval for marriage. He is also a prominent producer. He re-joined the band in 2009 along with Kim Do-Kyoon. The band also appears with two songs on the "Rock N' Roll Korea" compilation LP, released in 1983. The short-lived version of "Power Baekdoosan" was considered the same band, but with a completely new line-up (except for Kim Chang-Shik and the return of Lee Geon-Tae). They played to death/thrash. Reformed with older line-up once again to record "Return of the King". It's a return to their old traditional metal sound. |

| Search | Add | 9 | Childzplay | Heavy metal band based in Boise, Idaho. Active during the 1980s, briefly reunited in 2017 for Treefort. Formed in 1983 by founder/ guitarist Mitch Hoitt. Mitch brought in Ray VanCour (bass) and Troy Nickell (drums). Shortly after, Jefferey Fultz (guitar) and Curt Caldwell (vocals) completed the original lineup. ChildzPlay’s debut album First Toy was recorded in 1985 and quickly received consistent local radio support, launching ChildzPlay into a string of high-profile “live” shows around Idaho. Within the next three years, Curt Caldwell leaves the band and is replaced by Mike Bell (who remains the Lead Singer for ChildzPlay). In 1988 the band moved to Los Angeles, then to Seattle in 1989 and Jeff Morgan (Guitar) fills the spot vacated by Mitch Hoitt. In 1991, Jeff Morgan is replaced by James Lancaster (Guitar) who tours with the band for the next year. In 1992, James moves back to Boise and Jeff Morgan returns to the lineup. ChildzPlay recorded their unreleased second album “Big City” (1992) in Seattle. Shortly after the completion of the album, ChildzPlay breaks up. Founder Mitch Hoitt died on October 11th, 2020. The band is active again since 2024. | |

| Search | Add | 9 | The Sherwoods Of Cornell | The Sherwoods (1956–1973) The Cornell University Glee Club is the oldest student organization at Cornell University, having been organized shortly after the first students arrived on campus in 1868. Over the years, The Glee Club has spawned several spinoff a capella subsets. The club currently has only one official a cappella subset, The Hangovers, but two other spinoff groups, Cayuga's Waiters and The Sherwoods. The Sherwoods were formed in 1958 by renegade choristers who left the Glee Club to form their spin off group. First appearing at the Glee Club's 1956 fall concert, The Sherwoods of Cornell gained prominence quickly among collegiate musical groups. They embarked on their first international tour in the summer of 1957 with an itinerary including Hawaii and the Far East. By 1958, they were a successful act ,in there own right, and were in great demand both on and off campus. This enormous success came at a price, however, and led to conflicts with the Glee Club, which had remained The Sherwoods' parent organization during these formative years. In the fall of 1958, the two organizations split officially. The Sherwoods toured extensively, traveling to Hawaii, the Far East, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, and Jamaica and on two extensive tours for the USO, entertaining troops in the Philippines, and throughout Germany . They commonly wore dark (Sherwood) green jackets and ties for performances. Rather than sing stock arrangements, The Sherwoods wrote their own. They were known for rich 6-8 part harmony music unique among other a cappella groups of their time. The popularity of a cappella singing faded for a period in the early 1970s and The Sherwoods stopped auditioning new members in 1973. It also marked the final year in which the Sherwoods were featured in The Cornellian, Cornell University's annual year book. In 1985 The Class of '65 invited the 'Younger' Sherwoods back to Cornell to entertain them at their 20th reunion. It was the first time in twenty years The Youngers had met to re-learn their songs and practice their entertaining introductions. The 'Younger' Sherwoods have been returning to Cornell's Ithaca campus to perform at reunions every year since 1985, celebrating their 26th annual shows in 2010, once again entertaining the Class of '65, this time at the class's 45th reunion. The 'Founders' Sherwoods gather at various times during the year, continuing to practice and perform the repertoire they sang during their era at Cornell. Between the two Sherwoods groups there are about 45 active Sherwood singers performing today. Noted hit singer/songwriter [a320273] sang with the Sherwoods for several years, writing two songs performed by the group, 'Let me Down Easy' and 'Winter Song'. As an undergraduate, Chapin was preoccupied with his own songwriting, and he eventually dropped out of Cornell University to focus on his early career as a successful singer-songwriter. In 1971 Fred Kewley, Sherwood musical director, became Chapin's Manager through the best years of his career, landing the recording contract with Elektra through his hits Taxi, WOLD, and Cats In The Cradle, etc., and the hundreds of concerts around the USA and Europe. | |

| Search | Add | 9 | Gosia Bartosik | Gosia Bartosik | Gosia Bartosik (b. 1986) is an artist working in the medium of drawing, painting, installation, linocut and tattooing. She graduated from the Faculty of Painting and Printmaking at the University of Arts in Poznań in 2012, and she is currently a doctoral student at the same school. Her works are featured in solo and group exhibitions, print publications, street art and other activities going “outside galleries”. Bartosik’s works are a critical commentary to human sensitivity and insensitivity. The artist ask questions about the human condition and points to the way of treating the world, animals and other people. She conveys her observations usually in misshapen forms, “not entirely human, not entirely animal, biologically broken”. Bartosik is one of the foremost promoters of contemporary drawing in Poland. As the artist emphasizes herself, drawing is a separate language and delight. It provides opportunity to exist between several realities. |

During this time, the Contemporània has developed a totally innovative way of making music (...). The live performances are characterised by the approach of a very diverse and heterogeneous public, from the children who are afraid of confetti, mothers and fathers, sardana lovers, the curious... Without a doubt, the Contemporània's "Sardaxou" leaves no one indifferent. "Sardaxou" is to make the sardana a party. Members and collaborators of the Contemporània take the best-known musical scores, arrange them to the rhythm and tempo characteristic of the sardana and perform them with the most unique instruments in the country." For example, there are Sardana-versions of well-known film music or the Radetzky March. *) A cobla is a Sardanes orchestra, consisting of 11 people with 10 wind instruments and one bass. Since the 1980s female musicians are also allowed in the coblas. Sardana (pl. Sardanes) is a Catalan musical genre typical of Catalan culture and danced in circle.

| Search | Add | 9 | Holy Tire Iron | Holy Tire Iron was a 90s audio zine project by Reverend Raye, from West Somerville, Massachusetts. One would call the phone number and listen to the stories that others had left on the machine. It was not a 900 service, so if you were outside of the Boston area you had to pay for long distance phone charges. There was no advertising, the 'message changed every day,' and was made up of what callers called in. It was active for a number of years in the early-mid 1990s. The motto was "Inspiration is only a phone call away" and Raye called it free public media and added "Would you like fries with your art?" | |

A self-taught banjo player, Schmertz became an influential writer of folk songs, many focused on early Pittsburgh lore. His song "Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord" was recorded by [a=Burl Ives], [a=Tennessee Ernie Ford], the [a=Statler Brothers], [a=Bruce Low], and [a=Gary Crosby]. His song "Monongahela Sal" was covered by [a=Pete Seeger]. As a student, Schmertz also wrote the Carnegie Tartans' fight song, "Fight for the Glory of Carnegie." Schmertz himself only began recording in 1949 when family and friends bought him time in a local recording studio. Only 300 copies of the resulting 78rpm album, "Songs by Robert Schmertz," were produced, but they helped to spread his reputation as the "Stephen Foster of Pittsburgh." In 1955, Schmertz released a second album, "Robert Schmertz Sings His Songs," this time on LP. Two other albums followed, "Sing Oh! the City Oh!: Songs of Early Pittsburgh" ([l=Folkways Records], 1959) and "Ladies Beware of an Architect: Songs for Architects and Their Girlfriends" (1960).

| Search | Add | 9 | Nickk Dropkick | Nickk Dropkick is a Canadian-American experimental, avant garde, and industrial musician and producer. He gained significance in the early 2010s for pioneering the sea-punk cyber genre variant "slimepunk", and in being an producer of witch house music. In addition to working in cyber genres, Nickk Dropkick has worked with and produced music within the industrial music scene, and is an avid jazz producer. Nickk Dropkick gained his first measure of mainstream success within the Canadian industrial metal band "Death Cartel" (signed with Writ in Water Sound Creations, and based in Kitchener, Ontario). From 2008 to 2012 Dropkick was the bassist and occasional lyricist of the band, and gained exposure within the North American and European industrial music scene, touring and opening for bands on the continent and visiting from Europe. In 2010 Dropkick formed the independent side project "N3rgul", where he began to experiment in electronic music and from the industrial music scene, aid in the development of the growing witch house music genre. On witch house music and according to Dropkick on his Rave Leviathan album- "You know that scene in Blade I, where they're in that vampire club and all of a sudden it goes into slow motion and there's a spray of blood pouring from the ceiling? I wanted to make music like that, just heavy, slow, pulsating, and vicious". In keeping within the transgressive industrial spirit and the avant-garde nature of his works he would later be known by, N3rgul's influences and works spanned a range of genres. With the explosion of cyber genres and internet subcultures in the early 2010s, Dropkick would begin production of his own independent variation within the slime punk genre- focusing on a dirtier, wetter, and more bass sounding genre with ties to earlier acid house. According to Dropkick, the genre is meant to be similar in satirization to vaporwave. Whereas vaporwave focuses on re-imagining capitalism and society through an alternate lens in the 1980s, Slimepunk seeks to reimagine the "trashier" aspects of pop culture from the early 2000s- with a slimer variation on seapunk fashion, nickelodeon decals, and imagery and sounds which ooze. Following his leaving the band Death Cartel in 2012, Dropkick began working on a project with fellow noise and hip-hop artist Ripdae la Wise, called "Plebs & Fuckboys". Released via Spettro Rec, the music featured in Plebs & Fuckboys would blend spoken word, hip hop, industrial, rythmic noise, and techno. All artwork for the projects first six albums were created by Dropkick within his "transgressive style".On the artwork, Dropkick claimed to want to "create imagery which made sacred the profane, and profane the sacrosanct". In 2015 Dropkick would return to metal based music with the industrial-black metal project "Vamacara". In this time period he would also begin experimentation with Jazz music and begin making music under the name Nurgul Jones. A significant work produced by Dropkick in this time was his "Co)))ltrane"- a blend of Sunn O))) and John Coltrane, which would help bring attention to and interest in the dark jazz genre of music within internet subcultures. Of Dropkick's music as Nurgul Jones, the works produced under the moniker remain experimental and often blend the skewed music witch house, memphis rap, industrial metal, neo-folk, dark-jazz within his experimental standard. Under Nurgul Jones, Dropkick has created artwork and propaganda for the Order of the Nine Angels and album art for several noise musicians, including Enbilulugugal. Dropkick has produced music while living in Canada, the United States, and South Korea. As per Plebs & Fuckboys, Dropkick is also a versatile artist specializing in transgressive art. | |

Their mutual interest in music led to a highly successful music collaboration that spanned more than twenty-five years. Between 1945 and 1970 they had close to three hundred musical compositions published. Tepper and Bennett began their career together in 1946, when they became staff song writers for Sydney Mills (of Mills Music). Their first big hit came in 1948 with 'Red Roses for a Blue Lady'. Bennett and Tepper scored big again in 1951 when Rosemary Clooney recorded their composition "Suzy Snowflake." In 1955, their 1954 composition of "Naughty Lady of Shady Lane" was a top-10 hit for both Dean Martin and the Ames Brothers. After three years with Mills Music, the duo decided to become freelance artists, and their successes eventually caught the attention of Elvis Presley's people. Tepper & Bennett wrote 45 compositions for Elvis' albums and movies, and is quite possibly their greatest legacy to the world of music. In 2002, Roy Bennett and Sid Tepper were honored at ceremonies in Memphis, TN by Lisa Marie Presley for their contribution to her father's success. They were also honored for having written a large portion of the album [i]Blue Hawaii[/i], which is widely considered by Elvis fans to be his best album. Other successful artists who recorded Bennett & Tepper songs include The Beatles, Perry Como, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Robert Goulet, Dinah Shore, Burl Ives, Eartha Kitt, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Frank Sinatra, Cliff Richard, Duke Ellington, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Marty Robbins, the Ames Brothers, Jo Stafford, Wayne Newton, and Sarah Vaughn.

He remained in St. Louis until 1970, when he returned to Rhode Island to become the Director of The Arts in Education Project for the Rhode Island Council of the Arts. In 1973 he was named Composer-in-residence for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Custer’s compositions were frequently abstract works that used serially ordered 12-tone techniques. His pieces often used electronic sounds, particularly pre-recorded tape that was integrated into the performance of the pieces. In the 1970s and 80s, Custer began writing scores for television and film. As [a12582503] he wrote and performed educational songs for children in the 1990s. |

| Search | Add | 9 | Helaku | Once upon a time a child was born. He was a kind, loving child always wearing a smile. All over people were amazed at how relaxed and positive someone can be. But when he was on the steps of growing up he found an apple, which everyone said he shouldn’t bite. He was also inquisitive and curious, so he had to taste it. The apple was so sweet, that it made him do foul things for a long time. After years of adventures, wondering and rebelling he found himself stuck suffering at the flames of hell (sink). Most of his friends were ruined or dead. The apple wasn’t so good anymore and he was lost like a snowman in Jamaica. But then one day he got pieces of paper which he ate. It was no normal paper, for it was magical mind altering paper. He had tasted it before, but only had small glimpses of the universe and how it worked. This time it was different, for he had learnt enough during his travels to step further forward. An ancient wise spirit of an indian appeared from the sun. It put a hand on the child’s head and said: “Rise dear child. For you have a destiny to fulfill.” The child was amazed and couldn’t say anything. The indian continued: “I will resurrect you from here to a new dawn, but you must promise me something.” The child nodded his head on agreement. “First you will move where you humans belong, in the middle of nature.” it said. “Second, you will plant shaman seeds for all mankind with love, kindness, knowledge and rhythms.” The child answered: “I will do what you say, please get me out of this misery.” The indian had a sad look: “No, Helaku. You will find your own way out of it, I’m here only to give you a new chance, a new beginning.” The child tried to talk “but how can I…”, but the indian interrupted. “You will find the answers if you just follow what the king, the sun tells you. Follow your instincts, love the world and the universe. It will show you the way. Be true to yourself and others.” “I will do that, I promise.” the boy muttered. “Then there is the third part of trinity which you must fulfill to succeed. It’s probably the most important thing. You must find your soul mate. Together you will rise to new heights of being, which will give you the biggest cosmic energy there is. And with the power of that energy you will be able to do amazing things and help the whole planet. It needs your help.” “True love?” the boy asked. The indian smiled: “Yes my son, you have knowledge of it already. Now you just have to dare.” “But how can I trust anyone after all these heartbreaks and sneaky women I’ve met?” The boy said. “Get a grip of yourself, you will know when the time is right. It will come if you just follow the sun.” The boy nodded. “I will give you new life and you will be reborn. And you will grow beautiful new life all over the universe. Now rise, Helaku my son.” There was a bright flash of the clearest white light there is and it bathed on the boy and the indian disappeared. And so the boy was reborn as Helaku, which is an indian name meaning full of sun. The rest is future or his-tory, possibly her-story, which you will learn some day. Be kind, be love. Be metta. Love life and it will love you back. | |
