Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 One Thousand Pilots Harsh Noise and industrial drone project by spanish artist Alejandro Remeseiro. In his own words One Thousand Pilots is: Harsh Noise, industrial, landscapes, sometimes drones. One Thousand Pilots was discovered in 1997 while I was walking over an isolated place near Semipalatinsk (Kazhakstan): This place was formerly a huge "nuclear test field" during the soviet era, now full of isolated, tumbledown buildings, and towers in the middle of the steppe. Some inhabitants of the cities near to the zone, tell me about that there, in the isolated test fields, and during the last 30 years people have listened legends about the "The thousand pilots", a supposed kind of group or subhuman society living hidden and secretly in the underground and that got the ability to produce dreadful and frightening "sounds" to communicate, just using amplification of their contaminated throats...and brains. Near Semipalatinsk, in a isolated building, I found some reel tapes with just one label in the case "One Thousand Pilots". I can't say much more about this...

Born to a Venezuelan mother and Curaçaoan father, I$KI discovered hip-hop through his older brother who was a DJ at the time. Having played Cuatro, a Venezuelan instrument as a child, I$KI first took to deejaying, focusing mainly on Dub and Reggae/Reggaeton, he first made a name for himself spinning Bubbling, a form of speed-up dancehall popular in Suriname and the Netherlands Antilles, before taking on rapping at age 17. He formed a rap group called "Camouflage Dalinkwentz", whose songs got some local airplay, and joined a DJ crew called "Spike Sound" with long time friend MENA$A. Together they released a Bubbling track by the name of "Lancer", which gained noteriety among the local youth in 1999. That same year [a=Menasa], Golsa, Nok Blok and Iski formed the group IMMO, short for IMMORALES, performing hip-hop songs in their native language Papiamento, gaining popularity across the ABC Islands (Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire). In 2003 I$ki relocated to Rotterdam, the Netherlands, having released several mix-tapes and albums, individually as well as with his group Immorales on his own independent Ganja-Inc Productions imprint. He has since worked with the likes of [a=Brainpower], [a=Rmxcrw], [a=DJ Chuckie], [a=Tru G], [a=Kalibwoy] and many more.

In May 1967, the governor of the Eastern Region Biafra declared independence from Nigeria that sent troups to re-integrate the territory. In these war times, Dan Ian stayed and often played for soldiers. In 1970 the war was over and their band was now named "The Airforce Wings" also shortened to [a=The Wings]. In 1971 he moved to Lagos to play with [a=Sonny Okosun]s backing band "Paperback Limited". By 1972, he had formed the band [a=Wrinkar Experience] which he is most famous for. They only existed six months but recorded a few great songs that are re-discovered nowadays as pure jewels. After the hit "Fuel of Love" he left the band, due to its commercial succses and exploitation. He went back to work with Oksun and formed a new groups called "The New Spades". He released a few singles and disappeared in 1978. He was gone twelve years, till he came back with one LP called "Jide Ukpuru Oma" in 1990. After that he disappeared from the music scene again.
