Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | The Three Strangers | The Three Strangers was a South Philadelphia group that had been in a studio several times prior to this under a variety of names. Salome (pronounced Sah-loam) Bey (not to be confused with a female singer of the same name from the Bey Sisters), Ike Smith, Melvin Wright, Heywood Royster, and John “Buck” McLaughlin formed the Daytons, named after a popular style of shoe, when they were attending Barrett Junior High School. They debuted on the local Norgolde imprint (best known for the Revels’ “Midnight Stroll”) in 1959 with the doo-wop ballad “King Of Broken Hearts” and a rocking “Friday Better Come.” They pared it down to Salome, Melvin, and Ike when they cut “He’s A Bum” and “Hi Diddle Diddle” for producers John Madara and David White in the autumn of 1964 as the Three Jokers. The single was issued on Mercury before year’s end. The Three Strangers name came when the trio hooked up with producers Leroy Lovett and Frank Bendinelli to release a very Impressions-influenced ballad, “I’ll Be Alright,” and “Little Boy Blue” (both co-penned by Huff) in early ’66 on ABC-Paramount. Gamble and Huff wrote and produced a delightful throwback for the trio at Frantic, Arctic's subsidiary label. Bey moved to Chester, Pennsylvania in ’71, and in 1976 launched the Eastern Standard Band, which performed on the casino circuit for decades. Versatility remained his motto until his passing a few years ago. “In recent years, he was in a reggae-based group, and then after that he was doing Nat King Cole tribute show,” according to Philly guitarist Bobby Eli.

Blanceflor existed for a few years around the turn of the millennium and played at the Hultsfred Festival in 2000, among other places. The name Blanceflor is taken from Carl Bildt's daughter.

Search | Add | 5 | Le Magnifiq | Le Magnifiq started his hip hop journey in September 1991 & throughout the 1990's spent time writing & recording songs. Big moment came when he recorded & released his debut album "The 10 Commandments Of Le Magnifiq" in December 2000 however still no luck regarding signing up to a label. So in April 2001 he co founded the indie record label M1 Music Ltd in his hometown London & has been given free reign to write & record whatever he wishes so long as he has the facts. Now 30+ years later he's gained a lot of respect world wide for his rhymes about the real issues that affect us all worldwide. He's the voice for the people.

Search | Add | 5 | Brainicide | Brainicide was an American thrash metal band from Akron, Ohio. It was the first of many bands Tim "Ripper" Owens (Beyond Fear, Judas Priest, Iced Earth) fronted in his music career. They recorded three demo tapes called "Brainicide", "Brutal Mentality" and "Dammage Daze". They also recorded a song exclusively for the "Heavy Artillery" compilation called "Payment In Blood". "Brainicide" and "Dammage Daze" were actually recorded under the bands original name, Dammage Inc. They formed in 1986 under this name as a cover band, but began writing original songs and playing a few of them per concert. In August 1988 they recorded their debut demo, releasing some copies as "Dammage Inc." with live bonus tracks, before officially changing names in October and releasing it under the new name, without the live tracks. The live tracks, alongside 1 other, would be remastered in 1989 and released as the "Dammage Daze" demo, a nod to the name of era of the band that the songs were recorded in and represent (Dammage Daze, as in "the Days of Dammage Inc.") Also recorded an unreleased demo of original songs in 1987 with the original Dammage Inc. lineup. This includes their first song "Insane", as well as others such as "Kings of Metal" (which received play on college radio at the time) and the instrumental "Flight of the Dammaged Bumblebee".

Search | Add | 5 | Clifford Douglass | Clifford Douglas | Bandleader Clifford (Boots) Douglas was born in Temple, Texas, probably on September 7, 1908. Douglas, known as one of the finest Texas jazz bandleaders of his era, recorded and toured throughout Texas during the big band or Texas swing heyday of the 1930s. He began experimenting on the drums at age fifteen. He played in Central Texas before moving to San Antonio, where he got his start on the emerging jazz scene. Douglas began by accompanying Millard McNeal's Southern Melody Boys; he played his first show at Turner's Park, San Antonio, in 1926. After earning a reputation as a fine drummer and musician, he formed his own outfit, which he named Boots and His Buddies. Although highly eclectic in style, the ensemble was quite successful. The band concentrated most of its energies on playing in Texas, but made forays into surrounding states as well. Although Boots and His Buddies were not famous in New York or other eastern cities, the group garnered a large following in its home region. In 1935 Bluebird signed the band, which cut forty-two sides for the label between 1935 and 1938, including the songs "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Blues of Avalon." After reaching a pinnacle of success in the 1930s the band steadily declined in popularity. Douglas called it quits, and in 1950 packed his belongings and headed to Los Angeles. He continued to play part-time, but his job for the county government replaced music as his primary source of income. By the 1970s he had dropped out of the public eye, and he has since faded into obscurity. The specific date and place of his death are not known. Social Security Death Records do list a Clifford Douglas who was born on September 7, 1906, in Texas and died on October 27, 2000, in Los Angeles |

Search | Add | 5 | Goddur | Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon | Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon, Goddur, studied art in Reykjavík and graphic design in Vancouver, Canada. He has taught graphic design since 1993, first at the Art School in Akureyri, then at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts and finally at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts where he is now a professor. He is without a doubt Iceland’s best-known commentator on design issues. For the last two decades he has been occupied with teaching and research but he has found outlets for his creative urges in several projects, not least in the posters he has designed for various cultural events. These posters have a distinct style though they fall into different series or categories. Many use photography – Goddur is himself an avid photographer – often with overlaid, handwritten text, though some feature set type. These posters are light and playful, perhaps to highlight the playful nature of the events they advertise: Art exhibitions, concerts, etc. |

Search | Add | 5 | Syndrom Samazvanca | Syndrom Samazvanca (translated as "imposter syndrome") was founded by two Belarusian musicians with mutual love of psychedelic rock, krautrock, art-rock and punk. The band creates eclectic sonic canvases using fuzzy guitar riffs, unconventional rhythms and electronic noises, over which the lyrics tell stories of existence and survival in a modern post-Soviet city.

Note that the album was originally credited to [a741159] (ie the nine core musicians), while compilation appearances usually credit the bigger entity [a615688] (ie including guest musicians and vocalists). Tältprojektet was a huge musical theater performance on the history of the Swedish working class, which toured the country the summer of 1977 in a huge circus tent. The group included over 100 people, musicians, actors, and members of some of the biggest progg bands of Sweden at the time, most notable [a=Nationalteatern]. Tältprojektet was a very radical, leftist political movement, but it included different political groups from anarchists to different types of communists and socialists. Years Active: 1977-1977

Kitagawa (born October 23, 1931, Los Angeles, California, USA – died July 9, 2019), known professionally as Johnny Kitagawa (ジャニー喜多川), was a Japanese-American businessman and talent manager. He was the founder and president of [l997919], a production agency for numerous popular boy bands in Japan. He is the youngest brother of [a8214561], who administrated Johnny & Associates for many years. In March 2023, BBC released a documentary centered on the sexual harassment claims against Kitagawa, titled Predator: The Secret Scandal of J-Pop. In April 2023, musician and former Johnny's Jr. Kauan Okamoto told a press conference held at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan that he had been subjected to sexual abuse by Kitagawa on a number of occasions between 2012 and 2016, and called on the company's current management to acknowledge the misconduct. Okamoto estimated that between 100 and 200 boys were invited to Kitagawa's home during his time at Johnny's, and claimed that when Kitagawa told one of his guests to go to bed early, everyone knew "it was your turn." On May 14, 2023, Johnny & Associates president Julie Keiko Fujishima (a niece of Johnny Kitagawa) issued an apology to those that have alleged sexual abuse by Kitagawa. She added that she was committed to implementing measures addressing the victim's needs. |

Search | Add | 5 | Liminals | Uppsala based Liminals were formed in 2009 by Tomas Bodén and Anna-Karin Brus as a club-oriented side project to Differnet, a band where they both are members. Differnet gained widespread international acclaim with their experimental electronica on albums such as "Come On And Bring Back The Brjokén Sounds of Yore" and "The Title of the Record is the Text Printed On the Cover, Or Nothing At All". As Tomas and Anna-Karin now explore the strobing lights of the dancefloor, they continue to draw attention and have already been recognized by Pitchfork, Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet and Swedish national radio shows P3 Pop and P2 Ström. When Liminals released their debut, the "Hearthand" EP (Friendly Noise, 2009), a video was made by Sebastian Rozenberg for the track "The Swim" and the duo has since made a number of celebrated gigs throughout Sweden and Norway (for example, the Norberg Festival, the Volt Festival in Uppsala and the Phono Festival in Bergen).

Search | Add | 5 | Aloha Sluts | Aloha Sluts is an instrumental surf-trio from The Netherlands. Their music can be described as a mix between the reverb-drenched surf of Dick Dale and the fuzzy primal rock'n'roll of Link Wray. So how did the three Dutch gentlemen find each other? Unbelievable but true, they met in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA! And this little rock’n’roll fairy tale becomes even more unbelievable if you know that they met in the pool during a poolparty at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly 2014 festival, with one of the worlds best surfbands playing on the stage (Los Straitjackets). Guitarplayer Arny (Los Cheatos, The Last Post) found himself in a conversation with drummer John (Betty’s Doghouse) about, of course, music. After finding out they both play in bands and like surfmusic they decide to get together sometimes. At the same moment bassplayer Eric (Stacy Cats) swims nearby and joins the conversation! In May the band records an EP (Return of the Sluts) with producer Sven Lens (known for his work on the Snoop Dogg & Willie Nelson hit ‘Buy my Medicine’). The EP is released on vinyl by legendary rockabilly label Tombstone Records Holland (Space Cadets, Necromantix) in the beginning of 2016. The cover art of the EP is made by the well known American cartoonist Shawn Dickinson.
