Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

After some time, thought, and the apparent desire from fans of the release to see it reissued, Dreamland Circus did just that, and re-released the album via their own personal Bandcamp page on July 4th, 2017. Born and raised in New York City, at an early age John was fascinated by music and started composing pieces at the age of 12 using a two octave magnus electric chord organ, as that was all his family could afford at the time. As a child and teenager Serri received some formal training through the New York City School System playing the trombone in various bands and orchestras. Only later in life did he start a serious study of music and composition. After receiving a PHD in Physics from MIT and establishing a career in High Technology, his first piano lesson was at the ripe age of 35. He advanced quickly on the classical piano and was soon playing in piano recitals for advanced pianists. However his real interest and passion was in composition using synthesizers. John was influenced by a 50 / 50 mix of Rock/ Blues (Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors) and Classical (Mozart , Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy and Rachmaninoff) resulting in his own music being an interesting mix of styles. His early compositions appear in the Albums "Reflective Atmospheres" and "Better Late Than Never" released on JMP Music. Serri's style is deliberately loose and improvizational, keeping away from formal rigid timing and conventional harmonic structures. |

| Search | Add | 3 | Doctors Of Dub | Doctors Of Dub | Doctors of Dub started life in 1991 as an 11-piece collective, based in London, UK, with a shared interest in reggae, jazz & world sounds. Over a period of 6 - 7 years, before personnel began to move on and the band shrunk and mutated into a more studio-based unit called Species, the band toured extensively in the UK giving rave-received live performances at festivals, clubs and arts centres from Penzance to Cupar. Whilst the band was principally a live unit the recorded material was interesting and innovative along broadly dub-reggae lines. Only a handful of DoD recordings exist - a 12" ep 'Themanawar' and 6-track k7 - featuring tracks produced by Jonny 'Milty' Milton (Aswad, Maxi Priest etc) - and the CD ep 'Tartarsaurus'. The band also recorded a session in 1995 for Andy Kershaw's Radio 1 programme. If you take the Soundcloud link below you can hear or download (for free!) all of these tracks plus some recently unearthed live recordings from a gig in St.Austell, Cornwall. A video of Doctors of Dub featuring the bands trademark strange stage attire and some of the characters who used to people the stage - not least the legendary Tartarsaurus - has topped 10,000 viewings on YouTube. The re-mix of one of the bands most popular live tracks around which the video is based (see link below) was performed by Andy Montgomery, a stalwart of the trendsetting On-U Sound crew, and, I hope you'll agree, there are some awesome dub moments. The other two tracks on the ep were re-mixed by Tom 'Another Fine Day' Green and Manchester's hard-hitting Yam-Yam team. In concert DoD eschewed rock-star pyrotechnics (too expensive), opting instead for low-key ultra-violet lighting and face/body painting coupled with vibrant day-glo stage gear. Audiences loved this approach, although various lighting engineers across the country have been known to throw a sulk at the band. The band enjoyed touring and this came across on stage - audiences can sense it and are always happy to join the party. The band's music incorporates elements of death metal, industrial, and even symphonic elements. The band's origins date back to 2011, when drummer Zbigniew Grabowski and guitarist Paweł Kalarus conceived the idea for a band. Driven by other influences, the musicians created a project then called "Moonflower." They invited bassist Adam Drewniak and vocalist Anna Asteria to play with them. However, it quickly became clear that the genre they had explored was not one they wanted to pursue. At that stage, the musicians parted ways with vocalist Anna and began searching for a new line-up. 2012 brought positive results, as guitarist Krzysztof Synowski and vocalist Radosław Chorzępa joined the band. That same year, the band created material that they began performing at numerous concerts. In 2012, the band released a demo titled "Passion of Fire," which showcases the band's current work. In April 2013, Radosław "Chorzo" Chorzępa withdrew from further collaboration, while maintaining a good relationship with the band. Chorzo was replaced by former Banisher vocalist Jakub "Gawron" Gawroński. 2013 was a year of intense work for the musicians, as in July they entered the Creative Music Studio to record their debut album, "Arcans of Modern Hero." The band ended their collaboration with "Gawron" in April 2014, and shortly after, Aśka joined Ennorath and effectively joined the band. His teenage groups The Pogs and Oakapple Day were kings of the north shore socialite party set and Cool Bananas, a pop-jazz outfit, enjoyed similar posh popularity. Rory's original concept was for a utility group of ace musos who could back him on his many TV/Radio commercials as well as perform/record as a regular group. As the two purposes merged, Cool Bananas found themselves performing alongside films and slides at launchings of such products as kitchen furniture and overseas travel. Although they never had any aspirations to become the new Sherbet, the group did have a nifty little turn laid on in their honour at Chequers, at which guests were treated to garbage bins full of frozen babanas. Members were (mostly) Rory, Don Reid, Wayne Findlay, Stein Boddington, and drummer Robbie Dearlove, who was replaced by Russell Dunlop on this single and a few gigs for GTK. Cool Bananas backed Kevin Johnson on his first album and then split, with Don Reid resurfacing in Crossfire and Rory O"Donoghue becoming a member of the Aunty Jack TV team and subsequently singer of the national number one hit "Farewell Aunty Jack"." | |
