Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Nimal Mendis | Nimal Rupert Arthedeva Mendis | Nimal Mendis (born 29 March 1934, Colombo, Ceylon - died 2015, Malabe, Colombo, Sri Lanka) was a Sri Lankan singer and songwriter, and was one of a handful of Sri Lankan musicians to appear on the BBC television programme [i]Top of the Pops[/i] (1968). The following profile was authored by Nimal Mendis: My first break in England came when my song “Kiss Kiss Kiss” was sung by Mary Marshall. The recording was handled by Dennis Preston who later was to become the father of the traditional Jazz revival in the UK. It was released on Columbia. I have 22 songs published in Britain and have written music for films in Sri Lanka. “Kandyan Dance” an instrumental was my second piece in the West. Recorded by Friedel Berlipp and his Orchestra in Germany it went on to be No 2 on Radio Luxembourg. It was also released in the States. I have written the background score and songs for eleven Sri Lankan films. ”Films and Filming“ magazine in the UK says of my score for Lester James Peries’ film “Godking”: “score featuring such disparate styles as a baroque fugue and souped-up seventies orchestration has an ultimately moving theme at its heart“. At present my song “Girls” translated by Duminda Allehendra and sung by Amila Sandaruwan with a video production done by the students of the Digital Film Institute of Sri Lanka has been uploaded on Youtube. Its the first Sinhala Blues song and has been having rave reviews . The link to it is: [see Web Links] “Black Pearls & Green Diamonds” has eight of my songs on an LP for Decca by “One Two and Three” a folk group in Britain. I appeared with my singing partner Sandra Edema in 1968 as guest artists with my song “Feel like a Clown” on “Top of the Pops” in London and “Beat Club” in Germany that year. Record Producer Ray Horricks says this on the sleeve of the “Black Pearls and Green Diamonds” LP: “Nimal’s work combines an awareness of western melody and harmony with great originality in his story ideas, while there is a very exotic Eastern flavour about his choice of words. When it came to making this album I found myself preferring his numbers to the many better known folk items the three singers have in their repertoire". The artist left the following notes in Web Links: [for the youtube link] At present my song: “Girls” - the first blues song in Sinhala sung by Amila Sandaruwan and translated by Duminda Allehendra. The video was produced by the students of the Digital Film Institute of Sri Lanka [for the itunes link] There are 19 songs of mine in an album "A Songwriters Diary" Vol 2 on Itunes. |

He was influenced by van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden and is noted for his innovations with linear perspective and a meticulous technique which seems derived from miniatures and manuscript illumination. The best known include the Portrait of a Carthusian (1446) and Portrait of a Young Girl (c. 1470); both are highly innovative in the presentation of the figure against detailed, rather than flat, backgrounds.

Harry Byrnes (Electric Garden) who had released Iguana Foundation on record thought Lars should start playing live, so Pelle Strandberg who sang in Iguana Foundation took the drums, Iggo (from Kitchen & the Plastic Spoons) took the bass, and Mats Hellqvist (later bob hund) took the solo guitar. Lars wrote most of the songs, sang and played some guitar. The name Gary Cooper was filled with Combo. Pelle left after just a few gigs, but was replaced by Mats' brother Martin on drums. He was in for about three years, hoping to leave when he was expecting children, then replaced by Mats Andersson (Zoo, bob hund). Mats Hellqvist was in for about one and a half years, he would rather play bass and started Apa, Epa and later bob hund. John Essing took over the solo guitar and the last year, Per Ulander also featured on violin, harmonica and guitar. Two singles and one LP were released by Harry before the band split after about four years.

Search | Add | 3 | Minus. | Minus is a sign of the changing times... And their time is now. Minus will not be ignored. After spending the last couple years gigging endlessly throughout New England, the boys have developed a style all their own, best displayed on their new EP "Care Factor: Zero." Tracks like, "Idiot Me" and "Relapse" stand out as very well written tunes that play over and over again in your head. Minus's single, "First Stone Cast" has been receiving consistent college air-play and the band has been recognized by major radio stations as a front-runner in the area's music scene. Minus has shared the stage with many of the biggest metal bands to grace the East Coast. The list of bands reads like a major tour, with such names as Massachusetts's newest upstarts Reveille (Elektra), New York's hard-core kings, Biohazard (Mercury.) and OzzFest '99 performers like Drain STH (Mercury), Static X (Atlantic), and Puya (MCA). Minus has been described by C.M.J. Magazine as a ".post-apocalyptic groove-core motherf#@ker." and by The New Haven Advocate as ".melodically charged, intensely emotional hard-core." Minus's style appeals to a diverse crowd, as fans of all ages faithfully show their support. To say they take control of a crowd would be a harsh understatement. The energy that pours out of Minus is intense and has to be witnessed to truly be appreciated. Whether you like music that kicks your ass with immediate hard-core abandon, or trippy grooves that drench your mind like an infectious resin, Minus will deliver.

Through their own funds PRO-DEATH was able to record a self titled CD-R in late 2000 that was sold only at shows. After playing with Mortician at the Whisky A Go Go, PRO-DEATH was able to release a 3 inch CD-R entitled "Drowning in Discord". This album was comprised of mostly Black Ambient tracks and had two live songs from the sold out show with MORTICIAN. This album was also limited and sold only at shows. Through it all Pro-Death always managed to donate all their funds to support the stop of animal testing. PRO-DEATH has been crushing and destroying its audience since 1995 with harsh noise and visuals. With its hatred for humanity they Toured and played with many bands like CATTLE DECAPITATION, MORTICIAN, VADER, PIGFACE, BRUJERIA, ASESINO, IMMOLATION, UPHILLBATTLE, The BERZERKER,IMMOLATION, Strapping Young Lad, DEICIDE and lots of local bands..

We Are Surrounded By Energy, Every Action, Seen Or Unseen Is Attended By A Stream Of Energy. Energy Is Material. There Is A Great Energy Accumulation Centre. Search | Add | 3 | Young Francis Hi Fi | Young Francis Hi Fi is a Bubblegum Punk band from Brighton, England. "We play two minute songs about girls, getting high and hanging out. We live by the beach and we love the sunshine, bubblegum and falling in love. We also love punk and denim and getting fu**ed up. We grew up wanting to be in a gang, like all our favourite bands. We dress in the Hi Fi uniform, but we’re all different. Young Francis is the leader of the pack, Jimi is the sun who shines on us all, Danny Joe has a heart of gold and Bobby binds us together. We have a studio near the beach called The Bubblegum Basement, where we write and hang out and daydream, and where we make the razor sharp sound of the Hi Fi. We signed with Dirty Water Records in the dressing room right after a show. We made our record “The Young Generation” at Toe Rag Studios in London, with Liam Watson (White Stripes and more). Our record is music for dancing and for romancing, with 4 on the floor, handclaps, soaring solos and a singalong sound. Almost every song is a true story, but Julia isn’t really called Julia. We love 60’s Bubblegum and 70’s Punk. We love Garage Rock and Power Pop. So go ahead - DANCE. SHOUT. MAKE OUT!" - Young Francis, August 2023. Young Francis - Vox + Guitar + Tambourine Jimi Dymond - Guitar + Back Ups Bobby Herz - Bass Danny Joe Handsome - Drums

Search | Add | 3 | Star City Meltdown | Brad Dills - Vocals Lukas Patterson - Guitar, Vocals Chris Stewart - Guitar Cody Cupp - Bass Todd Vesey - Drums Johnson City, TN With their explosive stage show, their uncompromising confidence, and a sound described as "Journey meets Avenged Sevenfold”, this 5 piece rock act from Johnson City, TN has been winning over audiences from Mississippi to Michigan. Produced by former Creed bassist Brett Hestla (Dark New Day, Framing Hanley, Tantric), their debut album 'Stick in the Eye' (2009) was an impressive start to what is shaping up to be an energetic adventure into active rock history. The album and impending tour with Saliva gained the band a rabid underground fan base, and spurred independent sales beyond 2500 copies from live shows alone in the first 4 months of its release. After relentlessly touring the country, Star City Meltdown headed back to Florida in 2011, and back into Brett Hestla's studio to record their sophomore full length album. The album title changed from the original name, “Razorblades & Handgrenades”, to ‘Music=War’ after the band departed from their record label in mid-2012. ‘Music=War’ reflects on the constant battle the band faced just to get label support, a solid release date, and for the album to get to their fans in the form and fashion in which it was meant to be heard. Star City Meltdown decided to “soldier up”, after putting so much effort into a project that has gotten rave reviews from rock radio insiders, and they finally worked out an independent release date for ‘Music=War’, now set for Oct. 30, 2012. The first single,"Here's To Us!", is hitting rock radio nationwide, and constant touring is on the agenda for the remainder of the year and well into 2013. Star City Meltdown takes powerful, pop laced melodies and blends them with shredding guitars and bone thumping double bass drums, to form an active rock grenade of epic proportions. One listen to ‘Music=War’, and you’ll see that the band is poised for an all out assault on the active rock world!
