Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Elvio Seta | Elvio Seta | Elvio Seta, real name of Neuf Voix, is an Italian composer specializing in sound synthesis and experimental composition. His work delves into sound and harmony perception, connecting the combination of avant-garde compositional systems and their alternative use. His technique focuses on a detailed analysis of the composition’s fundamental elements, deeply exploring both the microscopic structure of sound – thanks to complex sound synthesis and manipulation machines – and that of harmony and counterpoint, drawing on 20th-century avant-garde compositional such as dodecaphony and the microtonal system. |

Search | Add | 2 | Diplomatz | Damir Avdić | Damir Avdić alias Diplomatz is a hardcore poet and performer who talks about Bosnia today, at the twilight of a modern world controlled by fake religion, commercialized revolution, and false democracy serving as a cover for capitalist brutality. He sings in Bosnian: "Whoever wants to understand, will understand!" Razor-sharp lyrics, shot from the heart and hitting you right in the head. The truth hurts, and Diplomatz tells it without compromise, and without mercy. With the eyes of a psycho and hard, powerful, threatening guitar riffs, he delivers a message without any illusions. Damir Avdić (from Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina) was known in the 1990's as frontman of the hard-hitting punk rock band Rupa u zidu (Hole in the Wall), with whom he released four albums. They kept on playing and putting out records even during the war in Bosnia. In 2004 he made his first solo album ...od trnja i žaoka (...by thorns and stings), a kind of soundtrack for his novel Na Krvi Ćuprija (Bridge over Blood), which talks about Bosnia during and right after the war. The CD and novel were both issued by the legendary underground pioneer Zdenko Franjić. Thanks to Damir Avdić’s intense performances, word quickly spread about this unusual (anti)singer-songwriter. Diplomatz alias Damir Avdić is everything in one: singer, poet, guitarist, band, actor, writer, thinker. Everything he does, he does from the heart. He comes from the tough underground scene of Tuzla, where he has collaborated with bands like rock'n'rollers No Rules, dub/reggae outfit Defence, and hip-hop rhyme fighter Frenkie. He is currently part of the Moonlee Records stable. His second album Mrtvi su mrtvi! (The Dead Are Dead!), recorded for Moonlee Records, will be coming out in March 2008. The new album is more direct than its predecessor and just as raw as his live performances, hitting as hard as ever. "You can't break the system from outside, by explosion. You have to do it from within, by implosion – and that can bring you down, too," says hardcore Diplomatz, ending his challenge with a question: "Are you ready?" |

Search | Add | 2 | The Von Erich Suicide Mission | Officially you could say this band started in Brooklyn, NY. It’s where Shane and Bryan met, where they held their first practices and played their first shows. While they got together in Brooklyn, they got together because of Denton, TX. Before Williamsburg was young and hip, a group of artists from Denton were attracted there by cheap rent and a warehouse space. Parallel to this, Bryan and Shane were on separate paths criss crossing the country. Shane settled in Brooklyn and met the Dentonites. Bryan begrudgingly settled in New Jersey, but would get out to Brooklyn for a show or to meet his Denton buddies from time to time. On one of these trips Shane and Bryan discussed the important things in life, which consisted mostly of music and things related to music. Thus was the birth of the Von Erich Suicide Mission. Two like minded drifters brought together by a little known town 2000 miles away. …and then there’s Young Squire. Not to be a footnote, because this wouldn’t have started without a drummer. Squire claims that he was born in Texas, but he was raised in New Jersey. He found Bryan’s home recordings on a website Bryan set up and offered to play drums. Upon meeting, Bryan noticed a number of red flags. Squire was a bird watcher, a volunteer fireman, played hockey and claimed to be an architect even though he was only 20 at the time. The main concern was his earlier involvement in backyard wrestling – there may even be video evidence of this. Still, Bryan allowed him a chance because he chewed the same tobacco and cheered for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. The home recordings would lay the foundation for VESM. Songs about the life and times of a rough and tumble wrestling family from Texas set to a creep rock sound track. Oh, and occasional songs about nachos, cars and girls.

He was assistant manager (1942-50) of radio station CKCR in Kitchener, Ont, and manager of record divisions at Gordon V. Thompson Ltd (1951-5) and at Sparton of Canada (1955-9). He was director of public service (1959-72) for CFPL-TV, London, Ont. During his radio years he was host for the CBC record programs 'Audio,' 'Den of Antiquity,' and 'Roll Back the Years.' The last, which began in Kitchener in 1945, was a network feature (1950-70). For Gavotte and Rococo he produced the records The Big Sing (two vols: 1952, Gav LPG-100; 1954, Gav LPG-107) and American Vaude and Variety (two vols: Rococo 4006, 4009, released in the late 1960s). A lifelong record collector, Moogk became an authority on Canadian recordings, and in 1967 the Centennial Commission adopted his plan to assemble a Canadian archive, which became the nucleus of the National Library of Canada's recorded-sound collection, of which he was the custodian (1972-9). He organized the exhibits '85 Years of Recorded Sound' (1975) at the National Library of Canada and '100 Years of Recorded Sound' (1977) at the Canadian National Exhibition. |

Search | Add | 2 | T.J. Hooker-Taylor | [a=T.J. Hooker-Taylor] comes from a musical family. His mother, Mary Ann Hooker, and father the late Great [a=Johnnie Taylor], raised him in the church. Along with his family and at the age ten he joined his first group, The Young Golden Voices, who performed at all the churches in the Kansas City area. At the age of 16, TJ started a R&B band, called The Grand Jury Band, who opened for many top acts that came to the city like The Bar-Kays, Cameo, Slave, and many more. Some of the members of that band went on to become the group LOW-KEY, which got signed by top R&B producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Unapologetically proud of his lineage, Hooker-Taylor has released CDs independently with the Johnnie Taylor sound, albeit with mostly new, original songs. CDS Records signed TJ Hooker-Taylor and released two albums (2009's "Your Babies Need A Daddy" and 2012's "Taylorized"). In 2015 Taylor began performing with local Gospel group The KC Clouds.
