Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Krans Family In January 2019, the "kids" were still around. James Krans writes: I’m 68 years old. I have a twin brother and a sister who’s 2 years older and the three of us sang with our father on weekends and summers for almost 12 years. I was 5 years old when we started singing 3 part harmony and traveling. We won the Ted Mack Amateur Hour back in the day. The brothers are part of a quartet and still performing.

Search Add 2 The Cult Of Aggemar Metal band from Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands. Active since April 2012. 5 individuals who all had a vague vision with a date, a time and a place, a secret temple located somewhere in Dongen, this is where they met each other and found an ancient encrypted book. The book of "AGGEMAR". After translating the first pages the book appeared to contain rituals, spells, sheet music, prayers, stories and more about the ancient king Aggemar, his kingdom and his moon tribe. Aggemar forced the 5 individuals, from his kingdom, to found "The Cult of Aggemar", start a band and explore their new found religion. The members have to tell the story of the death of Aggemar, his thoughts and the wars that led to the downfall of his kingdom, his moon tribe and the end of the world. These events all took place well before the rise of dinosaurs and humans. Still, not everything is clear, because the translation is still in full swing to this day. The music of the cult are translations and narrations from the book of "Aggemar". Comparisons are made with Limp Bizkit, Iron Maiden, Korn and Body Count and they have common ground with groovy nu-rap metal, but they are also completely unique and authentic in their sound. According to stories from the audience, the performances are energetic, contain humour, obviously have a lot of fun on the stage and the singer could have been a rapper as well. Earlier celebrations took place with First Fight Down, Bestial Devastation, Buzz Rockington (and others) and were on Rocktober Fest, Sound of Wollukstock en Slim in de Lift.

Search Add 2 Lorenz Schröter Lorenz Schröter (born May 11, 1960 in Munich) is a German writer and journalist. After attending the Waldorf School in Munich, Lorenz Schröter became known as a punk musician in the early 1980s. Together with Florian Süssmayr (piano) and Ian Moorse, he performed under the name Lorenz Lorenz. He studied communication science at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and graduated with a master's degree in 1986. He then embarked on a career in journalism. He wrote for the magazines Elaste and Tempo, among others. He gained his first radio experience in Zündfunk on Bayern 2 and wrote two volumes of pop-literary stories and two operas. In 1987, Schröter cycled around the world. The journey took two years. He wore out five bikes in the process. His journey began and ended in Munich and took him through North Africa, Asia and back to Europe by ship via Central America. During this time, he repeatedly sent travel reports, which he had recorded on music cassette, to the Zündfunk editorial team, which were edited and broadcast by director Nikolai von Koslowski in the series “Blitzventil”. From 1993 to 1996, he lived on the Chinese island of Cheung Chau. Lorenz Schröter traveled to Los Angeles in 1991 to interview the actor Klaus Kinski for the magazine Tempo. Because Kinski refused to meet after an initial contact in a parking lot and only spoke to the author on the phone, Schröter recorded the phone calls made in LA on tape. They appeared in 2006 as an original audio play entitled “Die Kinski-Bänder” on WDR. In 1998, he moved from Hunsrück to Magdeburg with his Poitou donkey Bella. He wrote his first novel and a radio feature about this.In 1999, he worked briefly as an editor at Zeitmagazin. His homage to the sea “Das kleine Kielschwein” was translated into four languages. During this time, around 2006, he also worked for the magazine Mare. Lorenz Schröter is married, lives in Bonn and has a daughter.

Search Add 2 Srđan Šaper Srđan Šaper Srdjan Saper, born on October 9, 1958 in Belgrade (Serbia) is one of the most prominent and most influential musicians in former SFR of Yugoslavia. He is a founder and a member of the VIS Idoli (The Idols), band that initiated the New Wave on the music and cultural scene of the former Yugoslavia in the 1980s. Their second album, Odbrana i poslednji dani (The Defense and the Last Days), music critics voted for the best album of 1982 and, what is more, the best Yugoslav rock album of the 20th century. Later on, in 1998, the album was polled as Yugoslav greatest popular music album in the book YU 100: Najbolji albumi jugoslovenske rok i pop muzike (YU 100: The best albums of Yugoslav pop and rock music). Album Čokolada (Chocolate), released in 1983, along with Riblja Čorba’s album Mrtva priroda, was the best-selling rock album in Yugoslavia up to that time. He is also well-known as the character of Spiridon Kopicl in the cult movie Davitelj protiv davitelja (Strangler vs. Strangler) for which he wrote the song “Bejbi, Bejbi” (Beogradski davitelj). He composed music for the TV drama “Šumanović – komedija umetnika” (Sumanovic - A Comedy of an Artist), in which he also played a character called Rastko Petrović. After music and acting career, Srdjan Saper entered the world of advertising. Prior to establishing McCann Erickson agency in Serbia in 1997, he worked as Creative Director and TV Director/Producer for various advertising agencies “SM Delo”, “Borba”, “Ogilvy & Mather”, “Saatchi & Saatchi” and “Idols & Friends” agencies. He is Founder and Chairman of McCann Grupa, one of the leading marketing communications networks in Southeast Europe, with operations in eight countries.
