Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Kent Friedman Kent Friedman US-born producer of goa/psy-trance and electronic music. Kent debuted on his own label Panda Records in 1997 as Time Warped, with a limited 12" pressing. He would first use the Mind Warped moniker in conjunction with Hugh Sharpe for one track, but it thereafter became his solo project. Kent and Hugh went on to refashion themselves as Shape Shifters and played live all over North America. In 2002, Kent returned with solo and collaborative material with fellow US psy producer and friend James Skylar, aka Deeper In Zen. In 2010, Kent joined with his longtime cohort, NYC-based psy trance DJ Hugh Sharpe, as Silicon Syndicate, with a sound tweaked between psychedelic techno and progressive house. In 2020, Kent joined Tim Robert to form the darkwave group Dream Prescription, based in New York City.

Search Add 2 Reality Deformed Black/Death Metal In January 2011 the studio/solo project was founded by Jens. After 8 years of playing guitar, and being in some bands and trying out some musical experiments it was decided to start Reality Deformed as a one man project. After a year of writing and recording there was enough material for a mini CD, but financially it was not yet feasible. In January 2012 writing continued, with a few changes in the musical area, and also, Oane joined the project for vocals and lyrical writing as a try out. After he finished his first track with Jens (“Natures Final Vengeance”) it was such a success that he joined Reality Deformed as a full member. Since then they have been writing new material together. In October 2012 the first Promo was released by the band, featuring 3 tracks. The first two are new material, and the last one earlier work featuring only Jens January 2013 the debut CD Constructing Disloyalty was released after 3 years when the project started. This CD contains 4 tracks and one intro of earlier material where Oane wasn't involved yet.

Search Add 2 La Famille Casgrain Canadian band (Québec) at the turn of 1969-1970. La famille Casgrain, which is one in the sense of friendship, is the pretext for a group of about ten students to meet, to do musical research, to criticize what is done in the world of entertainment ... At the very beginning, it was a nice joke mounted for an amateur session at collège Sainte-Marie (now l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)). Then, it was no longer quite an opportunity to happily pay the head of the fashionable bands by parodying the successes of the hour.

Search Add 2 Susie Raney Susie Raney was a sassy young high school student when she cut William Bell’s own superb deep wailer "You Hurt So Good", later covered with such distinction by Mitty Collier. Only a few copies of the 45 were ever pressed up and Susie never followed the 45 through with any other sessions. But it remains a cult single – not bad for a disc that was virtually a vanity recording, cut as a favour by Bell at the request of Atlanta’s chief promoter and artist management entrepreneur Henry Wynn. Raney was a friend of Wynn’s daughter and he featured her on one of his Supersonic package tours, but she never made music her career

Over time the project became more serious (in member commitment, not in lyrical content) and in 1998 they recruited members of [a=Blood Coven] and [a=Dahmer (2)] to fill out the line-up, leading to them playing a lot more shows, most notably a show as the only other band alongside Entombed. Search Add 2 Hardstyle Enforcement Agency H.E.A. stands for “Hardstyle Enforcement Agency“ As the name Hardstyle already reveals, this project concerns about a harder music style of the Techno genre. More precisely it is a mixture of the traditional Hardcore Techno, which has its origins in the Netherlands and Germany of the early 90's and Hardtrance / German-Trance, which was particularly often to be heard at parties in the late 90's. This project predominantly pursues the goal of creating hard tracks with melodic backgrounds. Technical and abstract song structures are followed by melodic and sometimes spherical pads. The music's only purpose is to supply people with maximum energy for them to drive each party to the absolute climax.

Search Add 2 Candace Coles Candace Coles is an American R&B singer, born in the city of Washington DC, strongly influenced by [a=Nina Simone], [a=Jill Scott], [a=Etta James] and [a=Chaka Khan], [a=Tina Turner], [a=Anita Baker], [a=Bette Midler], [a=Eartha Kitt], her mother, her aunts, her Nana, your grandmother ... and much more !! Her collaboration with [a=Darien Dorsey], "Breakin' The Rules", is featured in the Cloak & Dagger episode First Light. When it comes to CANDACE COLES her formula is no secret. That special concoction of love, sincerity, and truth is the recipe that is Candace Coles-a soulful singer and songwriter whose warmth resonates throughout an entire room. From the moment you shake her hand and share her smile, it’s obvious Candace’s heartfelt songwriting and passion for life will undeniably leave “her fingerprints all over the world” And she is doing just that with her debut EP, Fingerprints, released December of 2011. A former middle school teacher, Ms. Coles has witnessed first hand the need to continuously inspire and encourage our young girls to live their best lives, and with the release of her hit single “I Own The Night”, she’s doing just that. This upbeat, “pro-girl” anthem was featured in the Pepsi “Black Girls Rock” commercial featuring famed DJ and Philanthropist Beverly Bond, which aired nationwide. After Candace completed her college degree at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music, she was forced to answer the same question many college grads are faced with, “So what’s next?” She found the answer in her music. “Although the road has not always been an easy one, I’ve noticed that whenever I’ve followed my heart the results are remarkable.” She performed in Brooklyn, NY for the ALT foundation. A non-profit group created in honor of Aijie L Turner. The foundation was created by Ajile's mother to support young entrepreneurs in the arts as he did during his life time. The foundation shares similar interests with Candace as their motto "Footprints of a Dream", provides a strong outlet for youth to channel their artistic expressions. The performance was nothing short of stellar as she shared her heart with the bustling, New York crowd. Soon after opening the evening with her own set, she returned to sing "Testify" with Hip Hop Superstar, Common. Over the past several years she’s spread her wings as a writer and performer, touring around the country with artists such as [a=Martin Luther] and [a=Maimouna Youssef]. Most recently, Candace collaborated with Grammy-Award Winner [a=Gordon Chambers]. This talented young Singer a Songwriter’s star continues to rise, with critics comparing her work with Gordon as reminiscent of [a=Tammy Terrell] and [a=Marvin Gaye]. She co-wrote and is featured on the classic duet “Love You Better” found on Chamber’s new album “Sincere”, on sale now! Candace often explores themes of self-empowerment and challenges her listeners to find their own personal way to share their Fingerprints with the world, as her lyrics suggest in her song YBF, from the EP: “Take a look at the world, tell me what you don’t like, well why don’t you change it, baby fix what you don’t like, why ask why? Cause I’m Young, Beautiful & Fabulous.” From the bustling streets of Boston, to the sunny shores of Los Angeles, and all the way back to her hometown of Washington, DC; Candace’s life nowadays is simply about transit and transitioning. Search Add 2 Earl Rohlf Organist and teacher. Started playing piano at a young age, his career included solo appearances with Symphony orchestras, honors from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, arranging and composing vocal and orchestral groups of all sizes, and years of network radio and TV studio work. It was during his affiliation with the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC) that he learned to play the organ. The instrument he played was a special Wurlitzer three manual pipe organ that was built to Jesse Crawford's specifications for the old RcA Victor Chicago Recording Studios and on which Crawford made his first electrically recorded records. This organ was subsequently purchased by NBC and moved to their Cleveland studios, which is where Earl met up with it.
