Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 BDaMan Bryce Foster BDaMan (born Bryce Foster), is a Hip-Hop artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota who commonly raps with his older stepbrother, B.Allen as S.O.S. (Speed of Sound). To stand out from other up and coming rappers, he blends & bends all genres of music to mesh with his lyrical and conscious style of lyrics. BDaMan started rapping in 2004 when he heard his other friends rapping. He decided he wanted to try it as well, so he started freestyling in middle school and making CDs. When he got to high school, he got lots of criticism about his rapping, but he managed to use it to get better, which made his peers at school respect him more. BDaMan always looks for ways to transcend into new types of music and new ways to present himself to people. With high hopes, big creativity and a new strive for lyrical charisma; the future looks bright for BDaMan.

Search Add 2 Gong Expresso Gong Expresso was the latest branch of the massive [a=Gong] family tree, formed in 2018 as the reunion of core members of HR3 (Hansford Rowe's trio) with two former members of [a=Pierre Moerlen's Gong] (of whom Rowe was also a founding member). Their one-off album 'Decadence' was recorded in Paris, and was initially planned as the second album of HR3, with participation of Hansford's old compatriots from France, François Causse and Benoît Moerlen. This near re-iteration of the Pierre Moerlen's Gong rhythm section (Hansford, François and Benoît) finally resulted in this new band christened after the title of the album [m27835] in which they all played together for the first time in 1977.

Search Add 2 Latchkey Lights Latchkey Lights began when Shonda Robbins and Daniel Colby collaborated together over late night cocktails on a barely playable cheap acoustic guitar that someone had left for dead. After realizing that the composition of the music Colby was creating married perfectly with the blues-influenced Southern vocals and lyrics of Robbins, they decided to form a band. Colby reached out to Loved Ones, Vapers guitarist B. David Walsh who he had met in the late 90's and collaborated with in their Jade Tree Records released project The Explosion. Juxtaposing this primal energy with another of his musical connections, Colby recruited bassist PJ Norman. The pair are comrades in post-punk outfit Glass Rifle, one of several projects on which they have co-created, released through Norman's 100m Records imprint. Rounding out the line-up is drummer-extraordinaire Peter Hilton, whose credentials include Nodzzz, Piano Movers and Tiger Dare. In 2016 the 5-piece recorded and released their debut EP, Latchkey Lights, on 100m Records, which East Village Radio described as having a "very cool Au Pairs/X vibe". The band hope you enjoy it. After a string of dates in 2016, 2017 saw the band take to the stage as a 4-piece after Walsh's departure to honor commitments with The Explosion and Vapers. The band thrived in the added space, sharing stages with groups like Moles and Pissed Jeans. Latchkey Lights now announce their late 2017 full-length, Escape Clause.

Search Add 2 Van Rhijn Piet van Rhijn ''As an electronic music producer, I hardly gain ideas from electronic music. my ideas come from depression, nocturnal life, surrealistic art, nature and my love for extreme (black) metal. I’m passionately anti religious and I care alot about the mental aspect that I try to pass on with my music, I regard my music as really focussed on the mental aspect. All I can say is that I experienced total freedom in making the album, I hope the listener experiences the same freedom interpreting it. Let the album be a soundtrack to our introspective journey in life..!'' - Piet van Rhijn
