Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Mou Brasil | In the 2000s, Mou created the group “ Bahia Black ”, which stood out for its pioneering spirit in the concept of instrumental creation based on Afro-Bahian rhythms. Through compositional and experimental research based on the rhythms of candomblé, Mou was able to combine his work with an authorial value and explore its essence as an improviser. That same year, he spent four months in Hong Kong, where he played with Angelita Lee, Tady Lo and Eugene Pao . Mou started his contact with music from an early age in the environment of the BRASIL family , a traditional family of musicians from Bahia. Studied with Samuel Mota, Nicola Stilo and Hélio Delmiro at the age of 17, he already traced his professional life playing in the Jazz Carmo Quarteto group . Later he played in Cozinha Baiana and Raposa Velha , important groups of experimental instrumental music of the time. Later he participated in the still active Grupo Garagem for about five years, with which he recorded two albums and performed in Los Angeles and toured all over Brazil, with the participation of musicians such as Leo Gandelman and Heraldo do Monte . In search of a universalist sound, Mou Brasil traveled to different countries and lived in different cities. In 1990, he moved to Switzerland , where he lived for a year and played with Steve Thorton and pianist Jeff Gardner . The partnership with Jeff earned him the invitation to record his first solo album in 1992, on the French label Musidisc. Released in Paris, where the artist lived on occasion, The CD " Esperança " is essentially authorial and has the participation of musicians such as Jacques Morelenbaum, Sizão Machado, Jeff Gardner, Carlos Bala, Don Chacal, Fernando Moraes, Sizinho, Villa Lobos Quartet , Jorginho Gomes, Luiz Brasil and Marcos Lobo. The launch show took place at EuroDisney and was attended by Nelson Veras. In 1995, he moved to New York, where he lived for a year and played with Stefano Belmondo, Paulo Braga and Joannes Weiis Miller. Mou Brasil played with important names of instrumental music such as Marcio Montarroyos, Arthur Maia, Heraldo do Monte, Nivaldo Ornelas, Nelson Ayres, Steve Thorton, Jurim Moreira, Sidinho Moreira, Alain Jean Marie, Lula Nascimento and Anunciação. He accompanied important artists from the Brazilian scene. He played with Caetano Veloso on the tour of the album “ Fina Estampa ”, in a trio formed together with cellist Jacques Morelenbaum and percussionist Mingo Araújo (Spain and Italy). He accompanied Gal Costa for four years , alternating tours of the show “ Chico e Caetano ” and DVD “Acoustic” all over Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, United States, Spain, Israel, Japan and Portugal. With Virginia Rodrigues he was in Australia, Malaysia and the United States as the show “Sol Negro”. His discography includes participations withJoão Donato, Vinícius Cantuária, Gal Costa, Mauro Refosco, Arthur Maia, Jeff Gardner and Jussara Silveira, Tamanduá Group (Switzerland). Due to his long professional career, he has been invited to teach improvisation courses and workshops at Catholic Universities and Music Schools . Five years ago he created his quartet and has performed in important projects such as Segundas Musicais, Mercado Cultural and in shows alongside artists like Larry Corryel and Stanley Jordan , as well as directing works by artists from the independent scene.

Very early I became fond of instrumental music - especially in melodical and voluminous sounds of the kind created by electronic instruments aroused my interest. After many public live acts I placed my main focus in production of music generated by synthesizer and accompanied by authentic instruments like guitar, sax and grand piano, most of which I play myself. As a graphic artist and experienced diver I obtain my inspiration for the predominant part of my tracks from the beauty above and below the sea, our mysterious inner space.. |

Search | Add | 3 | Steve Mutimer | Poppa Steve Mutimer began his musical career at age eight with his first set of drums. He took lessons from Benny Goodman’s noted big band drummer, Ray Mann, until age twelve. Over the next fifty years he has worked in various disciplines of music expanding his creative talents into film and video production plus digital music composition. The Band Years 1958 - 1970 At fifteen he formed his first band, The Rhythm Kings, in hometown, Rockford, IL in 1958. The group was the first rock ‘n roll band in the city and became a huge local success for the next 3 years during high school. Even at that early age, Steve’s band worked with songsters Brenda Lee and Frankie Ford. The Rhythm Kings traveled to Memphis in 1959 and recorded six demo tracks for Sun Records with Sam Phillips and Snuff Garrett engineering. Sun didn’t sign the band, but they went on to cut two records, both regionally successful, with one tune, Maj, reaching the local Top 10 and earning a “bullet” in Billboard Magazine. While serving with the US Navy, Steve formed his second group, The Brother’s Anthony, a folk singing trio in which Steve played standup bass and sang backup at clubs, colleges and theaters all over the Pacific and the US West Coast. The boys sold an original tune, “Bossa Nova Joe” to Tommy LiPuma of A&R Records (which was never published) and eventually broke up when members were discharged. The Daze & Knights was Steve’s third group, a Rock, R&B and Pop group that played clubs, bars and private parties around Rockford. The band was one of the first “mixed” bands at the time with two white and two black members (hence the group’s name). Steve was bandleader, played drums and was the lead singer. The group’s high note was being picked up by the William Morris Agency, Chicago office, working with their hit vocalists and vocal groups of the time such as The Four Tops, Bobby Goldsboro, The Chiffons, Jim Nabors, The Crystals, Jimmy Clanton, The Vogues, Brian Highland, Dee Dee Sharp, Len Barry, Dick & Dee Dee … and they were the touring warm-up band for The McCoys, Johnny & The Hurricanes, The Outsiders and The Reflections. This group lasted from 1965 to 1968. Leaving the road after 3 years and newly married, Steve went to work in local radio in Rockford at WROK and played drums in an immensely popular club band, The Exceptions, in South Beloit, Wisconsin until the mid 70s when he finally hung up his sticks. The AV Production Years 1970 - 1995 For the next 25 years, Steve owned his own advertising agency in Rockford and later San Diego where he wrote and produced hundreds of musical scores, client jingles, AV shows and television programs. During this time, Steve produced and directed such notable celebrities as Eddie Albert, Kevin Costner, Vanna White, Ronnie Schnell (Gomer Pyle), James Avery (Fresh Prince) and sports Hall Of Famers Ernie Banks, Dick Butkus, Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow and more. This was a very productive time for Steve as he garnered over 100 awards for creative excellence including three TV EMMYs, one for music composition presented by Stephen Bishop. Steve moved from San Diego to Tucson in 1992 and retired from the advertising/promotional business in 2000 to concentrate on his first love … music. The Jazz Recording Years 2004 - Present With the advancement of digital music production and distribution, Steve’s personal “hobby” turned serious and keeps him busier than when he was in the ad game, compiling sixteen CDs over the past few years including fourteen original works plus two compilations titled “The Good Stuff” and “Now Playing”. Steve draws heavily on his early Rock, R&B, Blues and Pop background, which he lovingly wraps together with contemporary, and fusion jazz grooves. As he developed his “sound” over the years, he found it difficult to categorize his work among the many, many recognized genres out there … so he coined his own, calling his work Groove Jazz. Steve’s music is a collective effort involving pre-recorded sound loops from studio musicians, computer generated background fills, percussion that he lays down himself, and live solo tracks from fellow musician friends, some even going back to Steve’s band days when they played together decades ago. Producing an average of two CDs a year, Steve’s work is now heard on over 120 radio stations and is being sold and downloaded worldwide. “This new digital musical direction is incredible for those of us old enough to have experienced recording, distribution and airplay in ‘the good old days’, which is really a misnomer because from my perspective ‘the good old days’ of producing music are here and now. How lucky we are to be able to experience and work in this musical revolution".

In these letters, he carefully inspects and explores the tiniest details of his own inner labyrinths, from the more joyful and uplifting allies all the way to the darkest corners. This is how Giacomo— who in his day to day life goes by the name of ‘Jacky’ — on top of working as a composer and sound designer for advertising, fashion, films and other audiovisual projects came up, in 2010, with the name Jacky 0 (zero) for his personal artistic production. By linking these two strands of his personality together, "Jacky 0” was born as the ongoing correspondence between “Jacky” and “Zero”; and every sound, word, album, collaboration or live performance must be read as part of this endless dialogue which is, at last, a constant process of self-discovery from Jacky to Zero and back. |

Search | Add | 3 | Rafael Kozub | Rafael Kozub | Rafael Kozub & Damian Kozub, Cracow (Poland) duo’s activity dates back to late 70’s. The twin brothers, multi–instrumentalists–Rafael and Damian, started playing when they were kids in a band Pantograf that was a part of municipal transport corporation. The brothers created their own band a bit later with their then basist (later the lead singer and the guitarist of the Cracow blues formation KGB) Paweł Małysiak "Pawka". Their activity of that time as well as studio recordings were still little bashful. Between 1982 and 1988 they recorded their music on tapes at a home studio and distributed them in Poland and abroad in samizdat by three publishing houses: B.N.exp, ARS2, AML. In 1986 Rafael and Damian started another group Fragmenty R–27 (later called simply R–27) Encouraged by another band’s success (ZAOS) R–27 they continued their artistic performance for the next four years. The line–up changed over the years: Andrzej Jarzyna was the first drummer, Piotr Nodzeń was the second bassist and Darek Kaszubski played bongos, still the core members stayed invariable: Rafael Kozub (keyboard and percussion, vocals and composer), Damian Kozub (percussion, vocals, piano and composing), Rafał Walczowski "Walek" (bassist), Piotr Łabuzek "Buzer" (trumpet, vocals and synthesizer) and Paweł Ochel "Rudy" (guitar and vocals). The brothers gave a lot of concerts with this controversial band in their home town Cracow (at a club and Podwawelski Cinema, twice at Nowohuckie Culture Centre (NCK), at Wola Zoo Club and Białoprądnicki Manor House, etc.) They also took part in a few big events such as: in Skawina – "O.D.K" club , in Katowice – "Akant" student club, at a "Festiwal Muzyki Odjazdowej", "O To Chodzi" club in Rzeszów, in Warsaw – "Remont" club and at "Marchewka" Festival in "Riviera" club – together with the composer Zbigniew Lampart – the then manager of Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów. The mistrust towards those vigorous performances, however very remote from post–punk culture, that the band would give, made R–27 abandon further tours and giving accidental gigs. Apart from tape recordings the brothers published numerous brochures, papers such as: Alter – edited with Robert Kramaric and features – later used by Henryk Palczewski in his guide ARS2. In 1988 the brothers started publishing cooperation with Mariusz Błachowicz and in the middle of 1989 met musicians: Ireneusz Socha, Arkadiusz Franczyk and Andrzej Kramarz (Kirkut–Koncept and Na Przykład) with whom they recorded "Sen Wczorajszy" in October 1989. On emigration the brothers pursued solo careers. Having settled down in Rhineland – Westphalia (Germany) they carried out their musical projects till late 90’s – especially Damian who recorded even till 2007. The projects have been published on tapes and CD’s. His later attempt to start a band with Peter Sohn from Wuppertal wasn’t successful. |

Search | Add | 3 | Nyx Aether | Nyx Aether | At the core of Nyx Aether stands singer and main songwriter Mylene van den Weijer, who came up with the basic foundation for the project in 2010. Mylene had musical aspirations for a long time. Her urge to create something of her own grew into a set of musical and lyrical idea’s that had a distinctive dark energy to them. The concepts explored within the lyrics would touch upon paganism and occultism, but also on human qualities such as the choices we have to make in life and what is needed to become a truly free-spirited human being. For the musical side, Mylene got in touch with Tom de Wit (known for his work with TDW & Mind:Soul) by a happy coincidence. After listening to her ideas, he took up the challenge to translate Mylene’s ideas into a full set of songs. It only took a few months to create the debut-album thanks to the working chemistry between these two protagonists. The debut-album was called Entering Into Rebirth and was released into the world through Layered Reality Productions in the Autumn of 2012. |

Search | Add | 3 | VCTR | Victor Louis K. | Being born in Berlin, vctr (acronym for both "Victor" and "vicious trax") has been influenced since his early youth by the dark sides, diverse lifestyles and subcultures of his hometown. vctr began producing in the early 2000s, under the name "p0lytox" and was mostly into producing Hip-Hop instrumentals and Psytrance for a long period of time before discovering his love for Techno. His music is characterized by its hard-hitting rhythms and psychedelic soundscapes and can be considered as a reflection of his creative vision and his approach in producing, which he sums up with: "I want to produce music I'd like to dance to myself." The tracks often feature elements of hip hop and psychedelic trance, which gives them a unique edge while he is always exploring new worlds of sound and trying to push his boundaries. His love for many different styles of music is the reason to release under a multitude of aliasses (some are:vicioustrax, vlrk, vctr, louis kay, Papy Louis, p0lytox). In all the years producing, he has honed his craft and developed a unique style that has won him a following among a small loyal circle of technoheads from his hometown Berlin. - For booking requests please write an e-mail to: bookingsvctracks@gmail.com |
