Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 12 Preliminary Saturation Wouter Jaspers, Steffan de Turck Preliminary Saturation is the electro-acoustic, free improv, drone-duo in which Dutch sound artists Wouter Jaspers and Steffan de Turck combine their forces. To some extent, both might be better known for their solo-projects: Franz Fjodor and staplerfahrer, respectively. As Franz Fjodor, Jaspers displays a fascination for the darker side of life; with self-made instruments he creates a sound that shippers between droning soundscapes, depressed noise and dark folk. His style signature varies with his mood: from psycho chants to punk screams, from guitar oriented drones to field recordings. De Turck plays around with crunched and broken (micro)sounds, electro-magnetic waves and noise. Sometimes in a back-to-basics analogue setting, other times solemnly using his powerbook. Every once and a while, they come together in the safe harbor of one of their living rooms, pop open a bottle of wine, light some cigarettes and start improvising as long as the mood is right.

Search Add 12 Dr. Bontempi's Snake Oil Company Frenetically celebrated at festivals in the USA and England: what started as a small side project has blossomed into an insider tip for folk fans and friends of old country & western music from all over the world! No wonder, because - WHERE can you still hear something like that nowadays, let alone see it live and in color? The Snake Oil Company of Dr. Bontempi (known among other things as the lead singer of the MONTESAS) serves top notch authentic, wild, old dance music, snappy hillbilly blues stomp and ecstatic western swing - with doghouse bass, percussion guitar, fiddle, double-neck steel guitar, electric guitar and choir singing - and brings their whole own versions of old hits from the Wild West of the 30s to 50s. Whenever Dr. Bontempi's SNAKE OIL Company strikes up for a barn dance, it swings and sways, rocks and rolls like in a saloon from the black and white western films. And as if that wasn't enough, the snake oil company appears in proper style in pointy boots, suit trousers and western shirts. As a little extra treat, you can can even take Dr. Bontempi's original snake oil home with you, but - BE CAREFUL! Just one drop a day! Miss Ira-Lee - Rhythm guitar & vocals Miss Franny-Lee - fiddle & vocals Björn Kunze - Bullfiddle & vocals Dr. Marcel Bontempi - Electric guitar, steel guitar & vocals

Brazilian; living in Sao Paulo, Brazil but born in Sao Luiz (capital city of Maranhao state). Inspired by the sound of international acts like M.A.N.D.Y.; Booka Shade; Sasha; Renato Ratier; Gui Boratto and many more. That’s sort of how he got interested and started his venture in the electronic music scene back in 2005. With a bit over a decade of experience as a DJ and about over five years in the scene as a Music Producer, while he releases his music under his own record label Fundii Recordings, Cristiano Campos is also currently signed and releasing on third-party record labels such as Kitchen Smoke Records, Run On Recordings, and producing remixes for Cold Fiction Music. The artist has played already at clubs like Mary Pop (Deeping); Kitsch Club (Monde); and others…as well as a variety of private and public events, specially related to fashion brands or Fashion catalog releases due to his personal kind of experience and artistic sonority. His music genre is often described by his fans as being Deep House, though his sets may sometimes contain variations ranging from Dub-Techno to House Music itself. Always trying to keep his presentations evolving and with a futuristic approach. On his Record Label though, Fundii Recordings, the producer promotes national and international underground acts with conceptual and experimentalist works as well as modern and introspective sounds in which He believes.

Search Add 12 Dansbandet Chiquita Dansbandet Chiquita In 1968, [a1791359] formed, together with some friends, an orchestra in Alingsås, Sweden. The band was renamed to Chiquita Brass in 1972, and as that Chiquita Brass had an entry on the Swedish charts on June 1, 1975. But, during the disco-era, from 1977 to 1979, the orchestra both skipped the last word Brass and also played disco music. In 1981, there was another style change and back was what it all started with in 1968, and that is what the orchestra still performs, i.e. dance music at dance venues. Members in the orchestra between 2009 and 2014 were [a1791382] - vocals, guitar, saxophone; [a1791359] - bass, backing vocals; [a1791373] - keyboards, accordion, vocals; Simon Åhs - drums, vocals. In 2015, Jörgen and Simon were replaced by [a1791368] - keyboards, accordion, vocals; Thomas Andreasson - drums. In 2018, Tomas Edström left the orchestra and is since then replaced by [a3502393]. Martino Borén, drums and voals, is also a new member since 2019 and is replacing Thomas Andreasson.

Search Add 12 Ivan Bullock Ivan Bullock Ivan was born in the mid 70s and enrolled in Piano and Violin training at a young age in his home town, Canberra. By the teens, he had focused exclusively on Violin, enjoying a point of difference by not just having the only white instrument case in town, but also playing an instrument lovingly crafted by his (now deceased) Father (a part time instrument maker), from a striking African hard wood “Zebrano”. By the age of 18 however, neck injury sustained from prolonged use of the instrument put an end to music creation. Over the next few years Ivan experimented with the digital arts and set about listening to a broad range of music from progressive and metal, through to industrial, ambient, and of course classical. The late 1990′s saw a large personal adjustment and long-term move to Tokyo, which became a catalyst for creativity and learning. The intensity, stress and isolation of central Tokyo living also birthed Mystral Tide, leading to years of experimentation with break-beats, piano and synthesis. Sean Cooper of Zeitgeist Records (Brisbane) produced and funded the first official CD release “Whirlpool of Souls”, which led to performance opportunities in Europe and Japan. Over the next few years two more full albums were released, “Geometry of Loss” a 3 CD set recorded in Tokyo and completed in Melbourne, and “Isle of Narrows” a sorrowful and dark classical journey released in 2009. After returning to Australia and settling in Melbourne, Ivan began investing time and finances into the general support of underground musicians. For over a decade Dawn Industry (formerly Demus), fought against the commercialised and mundane profit-driven music “industry” through a series of Australian events called Enzyme, providing underground artists a release-platform and regular live performance opportunities.

Search Add 12 Funky Frankenstein Company Bio: A creative outlet and record cutting service based in the heart of Tennessee. Lathe Cutting is a process which utilizes a sharp cutting stylus to engrave or emboss sound grooves onto a disk. Lathe cut records are an alternative to the modern practice of pressing records with metal plates. In lathe cutting a voice coil is used to drive a needle which cuts the sound waves into the revolving disk beneath it. This method has long been used for producing lacquer masters, which are then used to make metal plates for pressing. Most of the machines used for this purpose were manufactured pre-1960. Our particular machine (Presto 75A) began production in 1938. In recent years many people have begun experimenting with utilizing these machines to produce limited edition, unique records out of unorthodox materials such as picnic plates and plastic disks.

Search Add 12 Orquestra Típica Portuguesa Orquestra Típica Portuguesa Founded in 1928 by Raúl de Campos, initially with the status of "Orquestra Ligeira" and "Orquestra de Dança", it stood out for being one of the most faithful interpreters of Portuguese Music, within the scope of regional music and the "Charleston" music produced in season. Integrated into the ranks of Emissora Nacional in 1934, under the direction of Alberto Fernandes and conductor-composer Frederico de Freitas, it was renamed "Orquestra Portuguesa", being responsible for the "Popular Concerts in the Open Air", which achieved great success at the time. It was temporarily extinguished in 1938, due to economic and financial complications. It would become the model for founding similar orchestras throughout the country, such as the Orquestra Típica de Acordeão Algarvia, the Orquestra de João Nobre, the Orquestra Típica Ribatejana or the Orquestra Típica de Alcobaça. Refounded in 1942, the Orquestra Típica was handed over to the maestro and composer from Leiria José Belo Marques, who gave it an unprecedented quality and excellence, being recruited for radio programs under his own name, or for the famous "Evenings for Workers” and “Evenings for Soldiers”. During its very open activity, until the year of its extinction in 1958, it achieved surprising popularity and reputation. He provided several highly successful shows and important phonographic recordings, both under his own name and under other identities. He was responsible for the first phonographic patent for great hits in Portuguese music, including "Adeus Mouraria" by Artur Ribeiro, "Ai Se os Meus Olhos Falassem" by Tristão da Silva, "Alcobaça" by Maria de Lourdes Resende, "Descamisada" by Maria Antonieta or "Gaiata Morena" by Manuel Fernandes. His biggest instrumental hits were "Tavira" by Luciano de Campos, "Correio do Algarve" by José Mourato, the "Rapsódia Portuguesa" by Manuel de Figueiredo, the "Fandango da Suite Alentejana" by Luiz de Freitas Branco, the "Suite Portuguesa" Nº 1" by Ruy Coelho, "Corridinho 1951" by João Gomes Figueiredo, or "Estoi" by Luís Romero.

Search Add 12 Billy Shaddox Lyons, Colorado I live and make music in Lyons, Colorado. A few years back I set up a studio at my home and started recording my songs and making them into albums. My vision is to create hand crafted albums, personalized, rich with intention and care, limited in quantity and whenever possible imperfect. Along the way I built a skateboarding halfpipe and started hosting concerts from it, I call it the Rampitheater. I love guitars, skateboarding, painting and drawing, fly fishing, quiet time on the land, being with my wife and kids, a good fire in the wood stove, and taking in the stars at night. Hope you enjoy my musical offerings. Drop me a line or come see me in person. Sincerely, Billy Bio Billy Shaddox is blessed with the ability to blend the western dualities of coastal dreamer and high mountain drifter into his deep, easy flowing songs. This is modern American folk music with pop sensibilities. Rooted in stories of love and fortune lost, perspective and enlightenment gained, Shaddox captures the mystique of the West with indelible lyrical imagery and sharply original musicality: the displaced modern man weary of coping with vanishing ideals, the present-minded realist, the uncontrollable jealousy of the downtrodden miner, and the bright-eyed morning traveler setting out to make his mark on the world. The characters who inhabit Shaddox’ tales have a depth of personality and situational believability that leaves the listener feeling affected by their being long after their songs have woven their course. Shaddox is fresh out of the studio where he recorded a new album with producer Sam Kassirer at Great North Sound Society in Maine. Sam has producered Josh Ritter, Lake Street Dive, David Wax Museum, and Langhorn Slim to name a few, and his collaboration with Billy has resulted in a dynamic album that highlights Shaddox’ song writing and musicianship. Shaddox is a routine traveler, he is a musician, a camper, a skateboarder, and is always taking in what his surroundings are delivering. Keep an eye out for #folkwise, #billyshaddox, and #skateparksacrossamerica, when Billy Shaddox comes to your town you will want to be there!

Search Add 12 Unpleasant Surprise Named after a song of [a=The Nits] the multi instrumentalist sisters Daniela and Jeannette Schwabel founded the group in West Berlin early 1986. Jeanette played Drums, Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion - Daniela Bass, Guitar, Drums, Mandolin and both sung. Before their first live appearance the line-up was expanded with Peter Wanke (Keyboards, Vocals) and Martina Schmidbauer (Guitar, Vocals). In 1987 they self-released their first eponymous Cassette and got into street performing until late Autumn as 'Sidekick Surprise'. Peter and Martina left the group in August 1988 so they continued recording as Duo until Martin Trapp (Keyboards, Accordion, Bass) joined in April '89. With him they won the 1989 'Berlin Rock News' competition and as price valuable studio time. After nearly 10 self released cassettes in 1991 their first full length collection 'Wrong Way, Right Picture' appeared on [l=Irre Tapes] and finally in 1993 a 7" EP. Jürgen Oeser - their 'best boy', caterer and sound man from the beginning got credited as honourable member. After a few more Cassette Only releases and concerts Unpleasant Surprise ceased activities after 1996. They called their music themselves "Surprise Pop" - too poppy for the avant-garde and too experimental for the contemporary pop scene.

Search Add 12 Michael Rougier Born in England on June 16, 1925, Michael Rougier began his career as a photographer for the Montreal Standard newspaper. His big break came when he was assigned to photograph cattle being shipped to Argentina from Canada. While in Argentina, he made photos of the then-camera shy Eva Perón, eventually smuggling the pictures out of the country and back north. Those images ran in both the Standard and in LIFE, where he was hired as a staff photographer in November 1947, remaining with the magazine for more than two decades. (He eventually left at the end of 1971, a year before LIFE ceased publishing as a weekly.) During his 24 years with the magazine, Rougier displayed the sort of versatility for which so many of LIFE’s photographers were known. He covered the Korean War with his greatest work focusing on children orphaned by that conflict. He covered the Hungarian revolution of 1956, weddings in North Dakota, Boy Scouts, horse racing, drug-addled Japanese teens and countless other stories, in countless other locations. He exemplified the ideal of the staff photographer, for whom no assignment was too small (or too big). Early in his career at LIFE, he accepted a handful of assignments that illuminated his compassion for the powerless. The first was a story about a blind poodle named Midget. The story goes that he almost passed out in the operation room while Midget was being operated on to restore her sight. He also photographed a story in Texas in 1948 about a cat that got around via wheelchair. He even adopted a goat after covering a “goat round-up” in Virginia in 1950. The one story that most perfectly captures Rougier’s remarkable empathy for his subjects, however, involved a Korean orphan named Kang (see slide #4 in this gallery). In 1951, he was sent to southeast Asia to cover the Korean War (replacing his LIFE colleague, John Dominis). While there, Rougier came across the Taegu orphanage and met Kang, a boy who would eventually be introduced to the LIFE’s readers as “the boy who wouldn’t smile.” At one point, Rougier sent a remarkable open letter to his colleagues back at Time Inc. in New York asking—in fact, almost begging—for assistance to help Kang and the orphanage. (“You might be a helluva long way from war in a bar in New York but these kids can’t remember anything but war few of them remember anything of their life before their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were killed right before their eyes. Get the contacts of my first take and look at them look at Kang and then please send some stuff.”) The letter got results. The orphanage received money, books, vitamins, clothing. Kang did, eventually, smile and was adopted by an American family. From the first, Rougier was recognized as a stellar photojournalist by his peers, and won Magazine Photographer of the Year honors from the National Press Photographers Association in 1954. In 1964, meanwhile, on assignment in Antarctica, Rougier almost met his death when he was seriously injured after tumbling more than 600 feet down a mountainside while covering scientists who were working at the bottom of the world studying glaciers. Today, the peak is called “Rougier Hill,” in honor of the intrepid photographer who nearly died on its slopes. Michael Rougier, who was an accomplished sculptor in addition to being a masterful photojournalist, died in Canada on January 5, 2012.

Norman Barratt, who died on 31 July 2011, guitarist, singer and frontman, Norman was a regular performer at Greenbelt in the 70s and 80s, and a hugely popular figure at the festival. Norman came to prominence in the progressive rock band Gravy Train, who recorded four studio albums during the early 70s. Subsequently, his emotive, soulful guitar-playing skills were in high demand as a session player, sideman and band member. He joined the Alwyn Wall Band in 1976, recording the classic The Prize, before going on to front the Barratt Band, who produced two studio releases, Playing in the City and The Voice. He then toured and recorded with innumerable acts, including Jessy Dixon, Sheila Walsh, Phil Keaggy, Steve Taylor, Cliff Richard and Barry McGuire. After becoming disillusioned with the Christian music industry, he went on to concentrate on session work, local church activity and recording in his own studio. Norman will be remembered as a sweet, kind and humble man, and as an incendiary guitarist.

With NN`s participants` other bands BITTERNESS EXHUMED, MINDFLAIR and HEAVEN SHALL BURN in mind, NN is way more stripped down, raw and spontanious in its execution. With a mindset deeply based in fast, short and agressive D.I.Y. music culture, NN decided to unleash their view on modern day society through their native language, german that is. All songs clock in between 10 and 40 seconds time. With a total playtime roughly over 5 minutes on their debut 7“ entitled „Wir können gar nicht so viel fressen, wie wir kotzen wollen“, you know this shit is not indie-pop.

Search Add 12 Monday Listening Club MONDAY LISTENING CLUB is a globally distributed group of artists collaborating on a journey through the decades of lost music. Through patchwork, sampling lost works, collage, composition and creation... new music emerges. Led by group of 5-time platinum music producer and collaborating artists with 200+ productions / remix projects, Monday Listening Club brings together a group of diverse artists in Vancouver, Hong Kong, New York, London & Los Angeles. Their first art-project release - Lost but found This project captures the energy and optimism of artists, groups, songwriters, producers, and musicians whose stories were buried in the obscurity of the record label machine, for one reason or another. A track that was never explored, an album that collected dust, a track that was a blip in the timeline of musical consumption. Rights that were sold and merged and sold again. Masters missing, diminished quality, liner notes and credits all deleted, buried in the landfills. Magic lost to the dusty shelf of time. Our project is an outsider’s view of these stories, a journey to rediscover what was lost. To breathe fresh air through musical interpolation. A modern day collaboration samples lost vinyl with fresh tracks from around the world to create a connected, personal sound of memories past. All in the blaring sunshine of a Californian Sunday, a residual of the best weekend among friends. Monday Listening Club breathes fresh life into tracks for the “you may also like” generation, fusing together and reworking the dozens of compositions that inspired our project, all woven into something new. Inhale the smell of old dusty vinyl. Walk the overgrown path created by songwriters with stories to tell. Stories lost and found some 50 years later. Patched, sampled, reworked into something new.

Later on in 1967, the Temple in Srinivasamangapuram, Narayanavanam, Nagalapuram were added. In 1980s, The temples in Karvetinagaram, and Appalayagunta were added as the organization's revenues also grew. Today, the TTD (as it is affectionately called) is a Behemoth organization managing more than 17 temples spread across India, more than 20 educational institutions, 3 major hospitals with specialty services, 3 Universities of which one each is engineering and medicine, and more than 1000 real estate assets spread across the entire breadth of the Indian subcontinent. They also help propagate the glory of Sri Venkateswara - the presiding deity of the Temple at Tirumala, and Goddess Sri Padmavathi at Tiruchanur through their wholly owned broadcast channel SVBC in multiple languages. They also manage a full-fledged dairy farm, and gardens spread over 50 acres at various places on the top of the Tirumala Hills at elevations of over 3000 feet above Sea level, hundreds of dorms for devotees who come visit The temple, including huge kitchens for feeding hundreds of thousands of devotees every single day. It is not exaggerating when we say the TTD is like a government on its own and never sleeps, literally. They have their own security and vigilance departments, and also handle millions of rupees in cash every single day that come as offerings from devotees.
