Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Bob Amonett Bassist, writer and producer based in Austin, Texas. Nartive Texan who started playing bass at 14 and never looked back. By age 19, Bob had upgraded to six string bass and was attending the University of Miami's School of Jazz. Then, it was off to Dallas/Ft.Worth to study audio engineering. While there Bob took an interest in upright bass so he enrolled in TCU School of Classical Music. By late 1996, he had made it to Austin where he formed Dees' Nutz & Bolts. Upon the realization that the name was in poor taste he switched the name to Goliath to honor his dog. In 2000, Goliath had recorded it's 1st album 'Palming the Wickedtree.' After finishing the album, Bob went to the Bass Collective in Manhattan to study Afro-Cuban and Fusion music. When he returned, Bob was a new bass player.

We paid for their EP & tour merch and they set off on the road. Upon their return they wrote an album, went to Finland to record it & then split up. We never saw a penny from any sales of the EP or the T Shirts we had printed for them - £1200 wasted that could've been put to good use on a band who actually gave a shit!"

The group adopted its name from the city's Old Strathcona district, and the neighbourhood's band shell became their "summer home." Members included lifelong musicians, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra members, university students, teachers, and business professionals. The band was conducted by [a6986853] and their first local appearances were at the Summerfest Stage in Sir Winston Churchill Square, Fort Edmonton Park, Government House, and Borden Park. Search Add 2 Purple Strange PURPLE STRANGE are made up of a few familiar names. While wandering through France a few years ago, Jared Stroud wrote a bunch of songs about rivers, fake forests and honey-bowl lepers, but he didn't have a band. He turned to drummer friend Matt Vandenberghe for help recording his songs. Kurt Danielson was asked to play bass, and he asked his friend Ron "Nine" Rudzitis to play guitar. Jack Endino was brought in to engineer, and he ended up playing guitar as well. Suddenly Stroud had a band. They wrote more songs. One night in the studio when the lights went out during rehearsal, they discovered that their amplifiers were glowing with a violet aura, even though there was no electricity. They dubbed the phenomenon Purple Strange.

Search Add 2 The EZPowell Band Gavin Powell - I play everything for now but I intend to just sing it eventually. I would much rather work with a full band. Writing is my current priority. Anyone interested in jamming and/or joining in - just contact me but I am not in any hurry. Gavin's band is called "The EZPowell Band", or just "EZPowell". After a 20 year hiatus in writing songs, Gavin has gone back to his musical roots. The music is a blend of American soft rock, British rock, slightly bluesy, and maybe just a little bit jazzy, with some African rhythms thrown in. A consultant, a technical writer, an experimental novelist, gardener, house doer-upper, and sometimes black-'n'wrecker house-mucker-upper. But mostly a semi-professional musician with almost 30 years of experience of songwriting and playing instruments.

Search Add 2 Soccom Adam Zimniak Adam, born in 1989, he plays and produces under his alias Soccom. He comes from Lodz, Poland where he met Pylon and Yabol. With them and Switch Technique they merge a collective named Mechaplex, which aims to produce the most energetic genre in electronic music - technodnb. His name is recognizable thanks to early productions released on T-Free, Flight Recordings, and of course forthcoming tracks on Sinuous, Venom Inc. and Nerve. His style is not defined, but it's sure that in his productions he wants to pass as much energy as possible from Techno, within the guidelines of Drum and Bass.

Search Add 2 The Dead Telluriders Aaron Sheley Aaron Sheley, co-writer and star of the acclaimed OEDIPUS MARSHAL, former writer for L.A. magazine ENTERTAINMENT TODAY, director of a 30 hour movie with hundreds of live rock performances, and the author of a few successful internet blogs, like the WEB-O-VERSE, was writing his daily poetry on regular schedule. A certain chance of events lead up to his meeting with Olaf the Recording Artist, that together recorded an all original, debut music album HAPPY ACCIDENTS by THE DEAD TELLURIDERS. While above are listed as his achievements, let it be known that it was never easy for Aaron. In 2002, he was diagnosed as bipolar, and eventually realized he was part schizophrenic, as well. So, after years of ups and downs and treatments, Aaron finally got such a hold on his illness, that he was able to join with NAMI and SUICIDE PREVENTION, to speak at events and therapeutically engage his peers. This music is a reflection of his joys and sorrows, his failures and successes. The stories of love gained and love lost are universally shared in music, and Aaron is so happy to present this art work, which fits right into his stream of conscious, avant-garde, artistic writing.
