Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | The Getarounds | The Getarounds | the getarounds is a new musical group that was started by dan dresser and gaelynn lea during the dark winter months of 2012, more or less by accident. it's not that either party was lacking musical endeavors in their lives, after all. dan played for many years with the brushstrokes and, later, three song sunday. he also played shows as a lone wolf from time to time. meanwhile, gaelynn was up to her eyeballs in music with snöbarn and the murder of crows. but the first time dan & gaelynn played together, they knew they'd hit a nerve of sorts. so, trying to keep sane, they told themselves that they were just gonna do one show for fun, because, seriously, does duluth really need another band? but after that show, people started asking questions. like, when is your next show? and, when are you going to record together? so then dan and gaelynn had some musical reevaluating to do. dan and gaelynn decided that maybe they actually would record a few songs later in the spring. and, heck, if they were going to record, they might as well start a band so they could sell their new ep/cd/whatever-it-was at shows. and heck, every band needs a name at some point... so approximately 2 months and 5 shows later, the getarounds were officially born. their music is heavily influenced by dan dresser, as he wrote it. but it's what dan and gaelynn both bring to the table as musicians that make their shows especially fun to hear live. they've been told that their voices blend better than one would ever expect... that the combination is actually pretty magical in the proper moment. dan's skilled songwriting gives room for lots of emotion and varied dynamics; it is the perfect musical style for embellishment and support from the violin. also, they are great friends who don't mind being weirdos at shows if they feel like it, so they've been told that their stage banter is quite entertaining. the getarounds are booking shows in duluth/superior for the summer and fall of 2013, and recently released a 6-song ep that is available for download at their bandcamp page... it costs a mere $7! The money raised from selling their ep will go towards recording a full-length, studio album at the hideaway studio in minneapolis later this fall. they plan to invite lots of their dearest friends to contribute their musical talents to this recording project, so prepare for the unexpected! if you have any questions about the getarounds or would like them to come play music for you (at your bar or in your living room), please email dan and gaelynn at getarounds@gmail.com. you can also find them on facebook, of course! |

Search | Add | 2 | Rev. T. L. Vibbert | Rev. Theodore Laymon Vibbert | Of the seven sons born to James J. and Mossie Vibbert, five became preachers and Rev. Theodore L. Vibbert was one of them. A pioneering televangelist based at Indianapolis, Indiana, Rev. Vibbert also held the senior pastorate at the Abundant Life Church there. In addition to planting his home church, he also planted a sister church in Jamaica. After serving in the pulpit for over four decades, he "retired" and in his spare time built a retirement community with his former parishioners in mind. As part of his TV and radio ministries, he and his wife produced several LPs and Cassette tapes of Gospel music. |

Search | Add | 2 | The Weak Creatures | Weak Creatures is a Texas-based band, which consists of core members Travis Weatherred of Houston and Joe Rivera of Austin. Travis began his musical career as a drummer and has played in various bands in the Houston area since the age of 17. He has continued in his musical endeavors over the years as a singer and songwriter. Joe is an experienced keyboardist, who uses a wide range of experimental techniques to bring depth and an inventive quality to his work. The two were brought together through their shared interests in experimental rock, avant-garde, post-rock, neo-folk, and psychedelic rock. Their musical experience and eclectic array of influences are manifested in a sound that is textured and atmospheric, at times even abrasive, sweeping in and out of an acoustic landscape, and layered with vocals full of visceral passion.

Search | Add | 2 | King-Kill/33° | Combining disorienting visuals, conspiracy mumbo-jumbo, and tautly-wound electric/eccentric rock, King-Kill/33* was absolutely one of the most exciting and intriguing groups of the Atlanta indie rock scene peak of the early '90s. Forming in the summer of 1990 in the "King-Kill house", (the band) took it's name from a James Shelby Downard essay published by Adam Parfrey in his book Apocalypse Culture. "The essay is about the Kennedy assassination" bassist Donna Smith explained in an interview with Mouth magazine shortly after the group's formation. "It has a lot of numerological and Masonic symbolism. King-Kill/33* was a plot to kill the divine king, which was seen as the only Catholic and non-Mason President in some time," to which vocalist Mitch Foy, who suggested the name added, "The essays are fascinating, there's plenty of mind food in it, but it's not something we promote. We're not anti-Mason, we're not pro-Mason. It's a starting point to play around with." King-Kill/33* released a handful of singles and compilation appearances in their three years, but they truthfully had to be experienced live to be fully appreciated. More effectively than any other local group at the time, and usually more effectively than any visual-oriented group anywhere, King-Kill utilized an armory of films, slides, strobes, transparencies, and other sorts of visual overload, projected against and behind them as they played. Add to this Foy's affinity for provoking performance art and costumes (his most memorable outfit involved crude stilts made from "blocks of wood two feet high, with some old sneakers bolted into the top of 'em", on which he would teeter above the crowd and his band mates), and King-Kill/33* was an act not soon forgotten. -Jeff Clark (Stomp and Stammer)

Search | Add | 2 | Bad Luck Inc. | In 1986, Bad Luck inc. was started in Ferndale, Michigan, USA. Rick Nelson and Paul Whittaker, childhood friends, got together to put Paul’s music and Rick’s words together. Things were on there way, although there were different members that would come and go. After all the changes, the solid line up was formed of Paul Whittaker- vocals/guitar, Rick Nelson- bass/vocals, and Bob Branum- drums/vocals. These guys were the heart of Bad Luck. The band liked to play “raw-edge” style music. It was loud and rowdy, punk music– from originals to covers. Bad Luck actually recorded four albums and a few videos, as well. The band played at all the clubs/venues in the city and had quite a large fan base. The fans never knew what to expect. The shows sometimes had smoke machines, strobe/laser lights, mirrors/guitars smashed, it was never uneventful. The band stayed together until 1997. The members drifted apart into doing their own interests.

Search | Add | 2 | DJ K-Nice | Ken Fisher | DJ K-Nice experienced an epiphany upon the first Fresh Fest concert in 1987. While watching Run DMC and Whodini, and DJs Jam Master Jay and Grand Master D, he knew that he was destined to move crowds through music. "My roots are in that era," says the 6-foot-2 DJ, grinning. "I’m kind of old school, but I still got some new to me." The DJ pays homage to those roots on weekly hip-hop nights around town; he has a residence Thursday and Saturday at Rick’s Music Café (9565 Telegraph, Detroit; call 313-533-8000) and Tuesday at Marilyn’s on Monroe (498 Monroe, Detroit; call 313-963-1980). Coming up, K-Nice was just a white kid from Taylor, removed from the fast track of Detroit’s hip-hop centers. Until Eminem blew up, white guys weren’t getting much love on the hip-hop scene. Like other rising hip-hop artists, K-Nice saw racial lines blur with the success of Slim Shady. "Dr. Dre put his stamp of approval on Eminem and he’s off and running," he asserts. Yet, the turntablist is quick to admit that it wasn’t always easy. "There’s more skepticism when people first see me — until they see me work the turntables." Undaunted by early hurdles, K-Nice kept spinning and passing out his mix tapes to anyone who wanted to listen — mostly his high-school classmates. K-Nice acquired quite a few listeners. "I tried to learn how to scratch and learn how Jam Master Jay was doing it," he explains. "I would rewind Krush Groove [a 1985 hip-hop film] and watch it over again. That was my favorite." Seeing P-Funkster George Clinton brought about another epiphany. "That’s when it really started getting serious for me," he says. "I always wanted to be a producer, but I wanted to know enough to tell the engineer what to do. I wanted to work with artists and start a record label." K-Nice enrolled in the Recording Institute in Detroit, a local trade school for music recording and graduated in 1995. Three years later he launched Richter Scale Records. In each of the four years since the label’s inception, he has released a mix CD highlighting Detroit artists and producers. The most recent, World Famous Vol. 2, saw light in May and has already sold out of its initial pressing. "The CD features two of the hottest up-and-coming MC’s, Obie Trice and Sol," says K-Nice. The next Richter project, Blacklisted Volume 2, will drop in October. It will be one of the largest comps of Detroit hip hop ever released, a double CD featuring 14 producers and 39 rappers. "The first volume of Blacklisted focused more on the artist," explains K-Nice. "But Volume 2 will highlight several local producers including Money Mike, Sick Notes and Disaster." In addition to bringing together Detroit’s hottest artists and producers, K-Nice also had "sought out underexposed artists who were so dope on the street. Everyone needed to hear them." K-Nice has done time behind the turntables with several local artists, including the Fat Killers and Trice, who has recently signed to Eminem’s imprint, Shady Records. Marwon, of the Fat Killers, at a respectable 5-foot-10 and 305 lbs., testifies, "I love K. He’s real and he doesn’t pull any punches. He’s given local artists the opportunity to showcase their talent in an avenue that we wouldn’t normally have." K-Nice has also managed to fuse Detroit’s hip-hop underground with nationally celebrated heroes of the genre. For Blacklisted Volume 2, DJ K-Nice recently initiated "You Gotsta Chill Showcase Saturdays" at Rick’s Music Café. Every week, there is an open mic and a live performance around midnight by one of the artists on the pending Volume 2. World-renowned DJ Kid Capri will be brought in to kick off Volume 2’s release. K-Nice has his sights set on Detroit hip-hop becoming more of an influence on the world. He’d like to see Richter Scale become a major label. |

Search | Add | 2 | The Afternoon Round | The Afternoon Round was an indie rock/country band from Ypsilanti, Michigan that was formed in 2009 and disbanded in 2011. The line-up consisted of Tim Clairmont (lead vocals, songwriter, guitar, harmonica), Rick Coughlin (guitar, lap steel, backing vocals), Ian Gleespan (bass, backing vocals), Martin Maginity (drums, percussion) and Zack Henderson (pedal steel, guitar). They released one album, Princess Of A One Horse Town in 2009 and one extended play, Pleased As Punch in 2011. Henderson had already left the band by the time Pleased As Punch EP was released. From archived Myspace profile: "The Afternoon Round is a rock band. We make original music with guitars, drums, bass, and vocal chords with the conviction that "pop" is not a dirty word and that a hook doesn't make you a sell-out. We want you to not only hear our songs, but remember them. That's why we have lovingly crafted each of our songs using only the choicest ingredients. We start out with fresh emotions translated into words and transferred onto recycled notebook paper. Next, we take refurbished chord progressions salvaged from Pop scrapyards from the past and future and transform them into shiny verses, glowing bridges, and blinding choruses. Finally, using new (and entirely organic), ideas culled straight from our frontal lobes we add the licks, harmonies, beats, and melodies to satisfy your discerning auditory cortex. We hope you enjoy."
