Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Penis Enlargement | Noisecore from Italy. Penis Enlargement was formed in 2006 by Brandy wanting to sound like 90's noisecore bands, as such they don't title or count the songs on their releases. In the summer of 2009 Il Nongio left the band, Bist found a job, and Brandy was busy with other projects, so the band is dead. Final lineup: Brandy - vocals Il Nongio - drums Bist - guitar
Search | Add | 4 | ex machina project | ex machina | ex machina (also sometimes referred to as "ex machina project") is a music project that was founded by Claudio Chiriatti in 1999. right from the start Claudio used the possibilities of alternative distribution ways of his output over the internet. the first two albums were distributed exclusively over the internet. after a two year hiatus on new releases he signed a contract with the label FUEGO to release the music under that label. after Claudio moved back to his roots from Düsseldorf to his birth town Clausthal-Zellerfeld in 2008, he realized that working in the studio alone is boring and began to look around for some new collaborators for ex machina. during his search he found his old friend Tobias Schwerdt who has coincidentally just moved back from Berlin to Clausthal and who has played drums in several bands and projects in Berlin. after some trial sessions in the machina they both realized very soon that this is a fertile and exciting partnership. ex machina is completely independent. even though the label releases and distributes the music, the overall responsibility for every artistic decision, the artwork and the presentation are the responsibility of Claudio and Tobias. the music of ex machina is electronica based, with more alternative rock elements introduced since its album "no one". the genres of ex machina are: darkwave, alternative, electronica, synthpop. Members of ex machina are: Claudio Chiriatti Tobias Schwerdt |

Search | Add | 4 | Michiko Toyama | Michiko Toyama (14 Feb 1908 — 3 Oct 2000) was a Japanese-American composer, the first Japanese recipient of an international compositional award, and one of the early pioneers of electronic music. She was a Japan Society Fellow in the Arts (1956–57). Toyama was born in California into a wealthy family from Osaka. In 1930, she started taking piano lessons in Paris. Eventually growing more interested in composition, Michiko became [a=Nadia Boulanger]'s student in 1936. After [a=Jacques Ibert] strongly encouraged Michiko Toyama to submit her Voice of Yamato work to the contest, she won at the 15th festival of the [a10235335] in 1937. Despite this unprecedented achievement, news of Toyama's prize didn't spread widely in Japan. The "Voice of Yamato" remained unperformed for almost 60 years, finally presented at the Gendai no Ongaku-ten '93 exhibition, organized by Nihon Gendai Ongaku Kyokai (Japanese Society for Contemporary Music). Michiko got married in 1937, changing her last name to Muto. In 1948, Michiko Toyama returned to Japan, where she began teaching counterpoint and piano at the Osaka Academy of Music. In 1952, Toyama relocated to Europe and continued her studies at the Paris Conservatory with [a=Darius Milhaud], [a=Olivier Messiaen] and [a=Noël Gallon]. She met [a=Pierre Schaeffer] at Conservatory and became deeply impressed by his presentation of Musique Concrète and other electroacoustic experiments. In 1955, Toyama received a scholarship to study with [a=Roger Sessions] at Tanglewood, so she returned to the United States. Michiko also studied conducting at the Pierre Monteux School in Hancock, Maine. In 1956, she enrolled in [l=Columbia University] to learn electronic music with [a=Otto Luening] and [a=Vladimir Ussachevsky] at a newly-established [l372382]. Toyama became one of the first women to work at C-PEMC, composing her first electronic piece, Waka, in 1958. During her Columbia tenure, Michiko befriended [a=Edgard Varèse] as both shared a passion for Japanese "gagaku" traditional court music. Soon after the release of Toyama's sole album, [m=2652725], she returned to Japan and became a research fellow at [l=Kyoto University]. In 1961, Michiko Toyama applied for a Rockefeller Foundation grant to build an electronic music studio in Japan. According to some biographical sources, she got rejected — with [l=Pitchfork Media] citing a rather offensive application feedback Michiko received in their Apr 2021 article. As per Tsuji Hiromi in the 1999 "Josei sakkyokuka retsuden" (Portraits of Women Composers) book, Toyama couldn't finish the project due to problems with her Japanese collaborator. Subsequently, she focused on technical acoustical research and gave up composing.

Search | Add | 4 | Matteo Candura | Matteo Candura | Matteo Candura is a (musician-producer-songwriter-remixer-artist-dj-engineer-mixer) born and raised in Sicily, Italy. He has a Conservatory Diploma (old system) in Piano, a Second Level Academic Diploma (Master’s Degree) in Musical Disciplines - Music Applied To Multimedia Contexts (Department of New Technologies and Musical Languages), both obtained after many years of study in various Conservatories of Music and a First-Level Specializing University Master Degree in Audio and Entertainment Engineering, he also plays the saxophone. Now he has recently achieved the status of Apple Certified Pro - Logic Pro X, AVID Certified Operator Pro Tools | Music and AVID Certified Operator Pro Tools | Post. He has also successfully obtained a B2 Level in English. His journey towards the world of House music began when he first started DJing at the age of 14, taking his cues from the golden age of turntablism and associated culture in the late '80s and early '90s. His attentions were led towards other sounds of the era, at the same time, enjoying their first heyday. His infatuation with those classic 4/4 club sounds is something that lives and breathes vividly in his music today. He has no lofty aspirations to play arena shows or break through into the mainstream of electronic music. He'd rather stay true to the scene and surroundings he loves and develop and grow therein. "I think the most important thing for me is that people take my music as a part of me, so I don't need to play for the biggest fees in the biggest clubs, I am mainly interested in the underground scene itself and being an active and creative part of it”, he says. He enjoys creating music from different styles like House (Deep, Classic, Soulful), Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Funk and more. Across the room, his eyes are closed as he is arranging the mix with perfect detail. It is amazing just to watch, as his mind and body are one with the music. His talent was soon recognized by people like Steve “Silk” Hurley (4-Time GRAMMY® Nominated Remixer) and Joe Smooth (House music legend). They welcomed him into their record labels (Steve “Silk” Hurley and Shannon Syas owners of S&S Records Inc., and Joe Smooth owner of Obelisk Production Multimedia and Indie Art Music) both in Chicago. The legend of House music, Joe Smooth, says, “Matteo is a fantastic talent and the sound of his productions are warm, soulful and contemporary”. Matteo got an exclusive interview of the legend of House Music, Joe Smooth, from Chicago. Recently, Joe Smooth also remixed and sang a new track by Matteo Candura (Analog Mood)! Soon, other legends of House Music will collaborate with Matteo on his next tracks as producers/singers/remixers! To date, he has worked with such great artists as Faith Evans, Bobby Jones, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Joe Smooth, Jamie Principle, Sterling Void, Jerry C. King, Kim Jay, Curtis McClain, Paris Brightledge, Superfunk, Jameisha Trice, Ron Louis Smith 2nd, Eddie Nicholas, Karina Chavez, Zachary Zamarripa, Somni, SNDSTRM, Cecy Santana, Rick Ross, Sarah Daye, Fatman Scoop, Sharon Pass, Monocles, Precious Maleho, Malisha Bleau, Eddie Cuesta, Tina Cox, Leon Monroe, Artispure, Fil Straughan, Camille Rodwell, S.E.L, Kandace Lindsey, Lauren Amaris, DJ Ross, Alessandro Viale, Elexis Ansley, etc. His music productions can be found on record labels as S&S Records Inc., Skalla Records, Undercool Production, Obelisk Production Multimedia, Kingdom D.M.G., Just4Funk, Indie Art Music, Sunpire Records,Tony Records, Docka, Pop Fidelity, Veksler Records, Cabana Recordings, Deep Strips, Quantize Recordings, Smile Creations, Armada Music, Bang Record, soon, also, in many other major/indie labels. The name comes from an American Dad episode “FartBreak Hotel”; Sarah Blanch is the concrete saleswoman who was reported to have driven into a river and presumed dead, he just liked the way “blanch” sounds. |
