Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Phonic Psychomimesis | Phonic Psychomimesis was conceived at the fall of 2009 in Riga, by two course-mates of philosophy studies who united their will to create an experimental works of sound. The participants of the project are confederates hardcore reflecting on the sound art - they come together irregularly to work on specific topics. The duo pays close attention to various strange sound details of objects and occurences that inhabit our everyday life and space around us - both associatively independent from their materialistic origins or simply vivid and special audio marginalities, viewing them as separate beings and enjoying their sonic autonomy. Guys are perceiving the beauty of these sounds exactly in their intangibility and, in order to experience them as long as possible, they seek to adopt them and to produce an ideally fixed, finite loop similar to gif image. Phonic Psychomimesis are using the zoom of their hearing, makes a sonic autopsy, removing the sounds out of their surroundings and inspecting them separately under the magnifying glass. Project works with the imaginative analysis of sound, focusing on constructing unreal audio situations where the result of the synthesis of different records has rather purely aesthetically grasped identity than empirically descriptive and documenting side. There are dense compositions made, where the thick structures of sound leaves a very tiny space for conceptually stimulated emotional atmospheres. The title of the project should be understood as a mimetic imitation of basic-atoms of psychical conditions via sound. In the theories of mind psychomema is an analogue for semema or the core element of the meaning in semantics.

Search | Add | 3 | Invaders From Sears | Invaders from Sears was originally conceived in 1986 as "a PIL-like synth duo" featuring local Westchester, NY freaks Bob of The Observation Deck Information and Adam of Thalidomide and the One-Armed Mongoloids. The pair produced three songs, now lost entirely, and that was almost it. Bob then holed himself away in his studio and churned out 2 full length solo albums, an ep and a rarities/greatest hits collection, all to be released on his small cassette label, odi, and picked up by famed Connecticut punk label [l=TPOS]. Fellow art students Elisa Flynn and Jeffre Dene joined in, and The Vaders became an actual live act, opening for hardcore bands in and around New England in the late 80s. Winning praise from Sonic Youth and Moby, The trio landed some choice gigs and had their tunes on the radio in several countries. Bob & Elisa then started a side project called [a=BunnyBrains] and the Vaders took a hiatus.

Search | Add | 3 | Aleksandr Shuniborov | Aleksandr Shuniborov | Shuniborov and music are inseparably connected since childhood. Playing his parents' tapes and vinyl collections on repeat, he would beg with tears to turn Yury Antonov's 'Moonlight way' on. And then he would break into a dance absorbing the rhythm and dynamics of the piece. ABBA, Boney-M, Michael Jackson, the Army of Lovers, the Beatles and other wonderful records were unfolding for him as he was growing up. Aleks's dad worked as a truck driver and he went on trips far abroad. You may guess how lucky Aleks was to have access to the world of music. This changed his life significantly. The 90's were not the easiest time for Belarus, just as for any other post Soviet country. And he was the one with Pringles, and records from the mysterious abroad. Dad kept buying all the new musical stuff to brighten his long way home. But as soon as he reached home all the tapes found their place on Aleks's shelves. Shuniborov's first DJ experience happened at the age of 14. He practised at house parties after school where school mates were getting addicted to apparently not only music. The school graduation party was a great event at his teen age. Then until his 23 he was continually looking for his own ways of self-expressiin in electronic music. He began to understand rather clearly what he wanted and needed for his favourite activity. Nothing was possible without equipment, skills of making textures, mixing them and producing. 'Music is my best friend, the beloved wife and child. There're no unpleasant sounds, no bad music. My greatest fear is to lose the ability of comprehending sounds, to stop feeling the bit of dynamics, to forget how to mix sounds and enjoy them. That sound like the end of me and for me. ' Shuniborov keeps his mind open. Experimenting, searching for' incorrect' mixes, state-of-the-art dynamics of the tapes filled with complex combinations are born in his studio. Aleks has preserved his internal child not setting boundaries to his freedom at the same time. |

Search | Add | 3 | John Tkacik | John Tkacik (born April 15, 1961 in Worcester, MA) was an experimental artist, writer, and musician best known as the bass player for the American skatecore band Crash Course. A pioneer and singular influence in the New England underground music scene, Tkacik (pronounced kay-sick) was the bass player of several early hardcore punk bands, including Pig Iron in 1983, and Crash Course in 1984 on Cape Cod, MA. Briefly sponsored by Zorlac/Airwalk, the band was promoted by a local skateboard shop who funded the recording of their 27-track debut. The band played frequently for years, touring in a borrowed school bus or their renovated 1960s ambulance, including epics shows with The Freeze, The F.U.s, Beefeater, Gang Green, Lost Prophets, Verbal Assault, The Outpatients, Th’Inbred, Vicious Circle, Toxic Reasons, Seizure, Strange Flesh, The Loud Ones, and many others at classic N.E. punk venues like The Channel, The Living Room, The Rat, Lupo’s, Club Rocket, the Cage, Anthrax, and Laconia Bike Week. Crash Course released three cassettes on guitarist John Santos’ Hellcore/Landlubber Records: “Pilgrimage to Hell” 1995, “The End” 1986, and “Live” in 1991, selling most via mail order through reviews and ads in zines like Maximum Rock n Roll and Suburban Voice. The Whore Moans catalog is comprised of a series of five cassette releases, plus an interim album titled Psychedelia Vapor Christ or P.V.C. During a prolific 10 year creative outburst, Tkacik wrote and recorded hundreds of songs in a broad range of styles, and played many shows, including a regular slot at Providence art space AS220 in the late 80s. He independently published their music in a cassette series recorded and produced with drummer David Silver, with hand-painted labels created after nightly band practice, and was creator the fanzine “American Defense of Justice”, printing and distributing several issues with reviews and interviews of regional punk bands and art by underground alternative artists. His writing turned toward political folk music during the 1990s, under multiple band names including Beautiful Child and Rack. In the early-90s, Tkacik came out as transgender and gender fluid, at times changing her name to Jana, continuing to write acoustic guitar music and working at a San Francisco clinic as an activist and advocate for HIV patients in need to medical marijuana before it was legalized. In 1993-94, Tkacik reunited with Pig Iron members John and Pete Santos (Antibodies) and returned to playing bass for the punk rock band Glass Cross, which sadly was never released. An avid traveller, Tkacik spent time between Cape Cod, Boston, Los Angeles, and New Mexico and spent a number of years in San Francisco. She died suddenly in S.F., CA on Saturday, October 29, 2005. Tkacik is survived by family members in MA and many friends and fans in the area.
