One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Born December 30,1930 her musical career began at the early age of five. She was billed as the “Child Wonder Gospel Singer.” Ford sang with The Famous [a= Ward Singers], [a= The Stars Of Faith], and many other famous gospel singers. Around 1958, Ford, [a= Kitty Parham], [a= Marion Williams], [a= Frances Steadman], and [a= Henrietta Waddy] resigned from the [a= Ward Singers] to form [a= The Stars Of Faith]. Ford was also the group’s first manager and driver, and [a= Kitty Parham] helped secure the bookings, since she had kept the names of all the Ward sponsors and promoters written in a notebook. Ford was the first in many things including member of the first African American group ([a=The Stars Of Faith])to sing before the Pope at the Vatican, Carnegie Hall, and Radio City Music Hall. Pope Paul IV stated that he was so spiritually moved by Lady Esther’s rendition of “Come Ye Disconsolate”. In 1964, she also founded and recorded the first Interracial Gospel Group [a= The Exodus Singers]. The newly formed integrated female group recorded an album in the United States on the Savoy Records. Ford also recorded her first solo album, “Profiles of a Great Lady,” which was on the Nashboro Label. Esther traveled internationally and nationally for more than 80 years using her voice to spread the gospel in song. Esther Ford at the age of 85 died in August 2016, and was the last surviving member of the original [a= Ward Singers] and [a= The Stars Of Faith]. |

| Search | Add | 3 | The Fourtune-Tellers | The Fourtune-Tellers formed 2006 in Stockholm when Andreas Jonsson and Mathias Westerlund joined forces and rented a rehearsal studio for themselves. Andreas took care of the drums while Mathias played guitar and discussions begun on what to name the band, and also what musicians to recruit for the band. They settled quickly for The Fourtune-Tellers and soon Kari Harström was recruited to play drums, and Andreas picked up the 2nd guitar and took care about the vocals. Old time friend Nicklas Olsson, living in Gothenburg but with plans on moving to Stockholm, was invited to play bass guitar. But awaiting Nicklas move, the band had to find a temporary bass player. Soon they asked Peter Rosén from The Moving Sounds to step in, which he did. After the second rehearsal Peter, very inspired and dedicated, asked the other members, "So, what's the plan, am I in or not?". Since Nicklas move seemed to be more talk than action, it was decided that Peter got the job permanently. Their debut EP Voodoo Girl was recorded at Göran Thungströms studio in Sundsvall, Sweden over an weekend, and released on copaseDisques in 2007. The band did several successful drunken gigs all around Europe, playing their own brand of sloppy and energetic neo garage punk. The follow up EP Don't Tell Me The Words was recorded at Real Studio by Per Ängkvist and released on copaseDisques in 2009. Soon after Kari left the band and drummer boy Handsome Hank Högberg joined forces. After a few years also Peter decided to leave the group, feeling being member of two bands was a bit too much and wanted more time for cycling. He played his last gig at Bassy in Berlin 13 February 2010, and was the same night offered a gig with The Fuzztones. Being determined to spend more time on cycling he turned down the offer much to Rudi's disappointment. Either way, the gig was a success and he went out with a BOOM! In came wonder kid Pontus Söderberg, a young man who brought new blood to the group. The sound became somewhat refined, but still keeping the punky edge. The band continued with successful and drunken sprees around Europe, and soon recorded Storm, a song penned by Jens Lindberg and given to the band exclusively. The band had met label mates The X-Ray Harpoons at Summer Safari in Halle, and soon after decided to release a split single, and Storm ended up on The Fourtune-Tellers side. It was released in 2011. In the spring 2012 the band brought in Johan Ullman on Farfisa organ. New recordings took place and the band made a fantastic gig at the PsychWard Club, Oslo, May 5th, which was to be the only live gig Johan played with the band. A month later the band travelled to Moscow for a gig, but Johan was left at home due to troubles getting the visa. It was a chaotic gig, although it went down well the band was sort of exhausted. In august 2012, due to different circumstances, Pontus felt it was time to move on to other projects, and the band went on hiatus. A gig was scheduled at Landet, Stockholm, March 16th 2013. But the gig was cancelled. They brought together their background in rock music, blues and folk to create a distinctive blend. Whilst Ian left in 1972, due to ill health, Billy and Jack carried on as a two piece carving out a reputation as singer/songwriters across Britain. In 1973 they signed a management deal with Johnnie Morris, who secured a recording contract with Philips records. By 1974 they released a single, a Rupert Holmes song called ‘Terminal’. However, Billy and Jack felt the production didn't represent their sound. After recruiting two additional members, Allan Stevenson on drums, and Peter McBrearty on guitar, they felt more satisfied with the new sound. The new line prompted other changes as they moved away from folk clubs and concert halls into the rock-pub and club circuit. Allan was replaced by John Houston in 1975 on drums, and the band carried on writing, recording and playing. A year later, Jack decided to leave, having become disillusioned with the music business, and was replaced by Mick Tausney. Greenmantle continued for a further six months before breaking up. Reformed early 2009, releasing a couple of albums on the Hub Records label. | |

Patrick Williams didn't really have the people and resources to create a teen band scene, so he became a full on DIY mastermind who wrote, sang, produced, and released some excellent and unique garage rock 45s in 1968. On his first 45, recorded early in 1968, he hooked with a short lived band from Conneaut called the Inner Prism and recorded "Bad Seed", an intense tale of debauchery brought on by a cheating girlfriend, with the classic shout out "All right man, here's my life!". Williams put together a second recording session a few months later, using a couple local musicians, and cut the anti drug "Bearded Peddler", the anti war "Sirens of War", and the moody downer "Tears I Lost For You", all just as intense, and slightly unhinged, as the 1st 45. He recorded one more 45 at the end of 1968, under the name of "The Sound Of N. Patrick Williams" which was much more low key. Those were the last released recordings of Williams. At 14 he worked at a steel mill and then became a heavy equipment operator. At 21 he wrote his first song. Hubele’s music is original jazz and blues. He plays slide dobro and acoustic and electric guitar. Hubele’s warm, deep dynamic voice and polished delivery of originals and standards enthrall his audiences. He performs solo, as a duo or trio, or in front of a big band. Hubele’s world view is that love and harmony are all. Writing songs and giving concerts are Hubele’s form of procreation - leaving a mark on the world - causing people to see their lives in a new, more harmonious light. And it is not always the big things in life that are the most important. Hubele writes about the little things that make a difference. Hubele is entirely self-taught. His love for the blues started with listening to popular music on the radio as a teen. What caught his ear was Eric Burden’s ‘House of the Rising Sun’. He had no idea that it was the blues, but he just had to learn to play that song. His friend Butch, a redcap and co-worker at the Canadian Pacific Railroad, offered to loan him his electric guitar and amplifier and teach him how to play. Hubele became fascinated with the earthy beat and emotional impact of the blues. He began listening to, and playing along with, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, and Freddie and Albert King. Hubele’s introduction to jazz was through Chuck Tracy, a hard-core lounge musician and a really funny guy who was Hubele’s roomate for a while. In listening to him rehearse and perform, he got turned onto the music of Tom Waits, Mose Allison and Fats Waller. He also listened to Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Benny Goodman and - especially- Cab Calloway and Louis Jordan. There is also a touch of country in Hubele’s music from growing up on the prairies on the fringe of Calgary, where music by Hank Williams, Hank Snow, and Marty Robbins was the background of his life. Hubele’s interest in slide dobro came when he first heard Bonnie Raitt in the early 70s, and he had to learn how to make that ‘slidey’ sound. She had learned to play slide from Mississippi Fred McDowell. Hubele figured out how to tune his guitar to slide tuning, and eventually he got the hang of it. Hubele writes when the song comes to him, about one each month. It takes one-half to two hours to write a song. The best ones often come the fastest. Polishing and learning a song takes about a couple of weeks. | |
