Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Urge Surfer | 'Urge Surfing' is a mental technique to observe and experience an urge without engaging in it. It involves a similar mindset as mindfulness meditation. You observe your thoughts and feelings when your mind wanders. The point is to notice thoughts without judgement or frustration. This makes the thoughts less powerful and reduces your stress. It was the perfect name for this project. We used music making to keep us sane, centered and focused during a very turbulent couple years. This project came to fruition in isolation across the internet between former co-workers quickly turned close friends. Together, we are Urge Surfer.

Search | Add | 2 | Symphonisches Blüthner-Orchester Berlin | The Blüthner Orchestra was a German symphony orchestra active between 1907 and 1925 and based at the eponymous "Blüthner Hall" at Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory on Genthiner Straße in Berlin. It was absorbed by Berliner Symphonie-Orchester. The ensemble began under the patronage and sponsorship of Julius Ferdinand Blüthner (1824—1910), founder of the prolific piano manufacturer Blüthner Pianofortefabrik in Leipzig. In 1905, eighty-one-year-old Blüthner retired after running the company for over 50 years and passed the business over to his sons. Blüthner-Orchester became his last project; Julius died three years after its inauguration. In 1913, Blüthner-Orchester produced one of the first partial recordings of [a=Richard Wagner]'s "Ring des Nibelungen" opera cycle on [l=Anker Record] label, including ¾ of Die Walküre's first act, featuring tenor [a=Jacques Decker] and soprano [a=Erna Denera] in leading roles. In 1917, the Orchestra toured Hungary under the baton of an aspiring 18-year-old conductor, Jenő Blau (later known as [a=Eugene Ormandy], one of the world's most renowned maestros). Over the years, several notable musicians and conductors began their careers in the Orchestra, including its first concertmaster, [a=Louis Persinger], who directed the ensemble at twenty-one, and [a=Hermann Scherchen] playing viola with Blüthner at only sixteen. On 15 January 1919, the Blüthner Orchestra performed at the "proletarian" memorial for [a=Karl Liebknecht] and Rosa Luxemburg, organized by SPD (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands), falling under heavy criticism in the press; the orchestra's principal conductor, [a=Paul Scheinpflug], had to issue a public apology. One of the last notable performances under the "Blüthner-Orchester" name was in October 1924 at [l591602], with a special guest [a=Pietro Mascagni] conducting. In May 1925, the ensemble was dissolved and reorganized as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra under [a=Oskar Fried]'s direction. Blüthner-Orchester Principal Conductors 1907–1909: [a=Louis Persinger] 1909–1910: [a=Josef Stránský] 1910–1913: [a=Edmund von Strauss] 1913–1915: [a=Siegmund Von Hausegger] 1915–1920: [a=Paul Scheinpflug] 1920–1921: [a=Selmar Meyrowitz]

She started singing at the age of 4 and professionally at 12, to then move to London in 2012 to pursue her music career. She is lead vocalist for Grammy nominated drum and bass DJ High Contrast and member of The Kingdom Choir. In 2018 she has sang with TKC to an audience of 2 billion at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and toured the UK and US in 2019, which highlight was performing at the Hollywood Bowl and sharing the stage with the legend Gladys Knight. She also sang the Lullaby to baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor live on BBC and in a live session at The Sun. Nicole has appeared and performed on UK, Italian and US Television (including X Factor Italy, the Steve Harvey Show and recently Access Hollywood in Los Angeles with Mario Lopez presenting). Nicole is also highly skilled coloritura soprano with a range of almost four octaves, she impresses in a wide variety of genres with her unique, soulful tone and distinctive vibrato and scales. Her name appears in the soundtrack of Rocketman, the film based on Elton John's life. She has also performed with and recorded for many artists including Paloma Faith, Diversity, Demi Lovato, The Who, Tom Jones, Take That, Geri Halliwell to name a few. Nicole is a singer songwriter in her own right and she has released a few singles in the last two years, including Take Me Away featuring producers ELVNS. Most recently she has brought together 13 artists to record her latest single Give Thanks, which was released on Christmas 2019. The proceeds went entirely to charity in support of the Amazon Rainforest, its biodiversity and the indigenous population affected by the continuous fires. Her new single IF ONLY will be out Friday 17th April 2020, followed by her EP later this year. Born in Rome, Italy, in 1992 her affinity with music was always encouraged by her parents. While most of her friends were listening to the radio, Nicole listened to Led Zeppelin and Frank Sinatra records. At the age of 6 she found herself getting her first opera singing lessons and picked to duet with Italian band Pooh. While still young her family continued to travel often, which gave her the opportunity to grow up in culturally diverse, musically-rich environments. It wasn’t long before she was offered a scholarship at the prestigious world known Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, which she turned down to persue a different musical path. At 12, Nicole attended Cinecittà Campus, soon being followed by some of the most important names in the national show business, including Maria Grazia Fontana, who trained her for the following 8 years. At the age of 14 Nicole started working on her first original single with Italian legendary singer and producer Teddy Reno and joined gospel choir SAT&B. Although her very young age, it wasn’t long before her unique skills were quickly noticed: Nicole attended Saint Louis College of Music in Rome and got the lead female role in “’68 Italian Rock” Musical, getting to perform in Rome's most important theatres for almost two years, while still attending high school and performing with her few bands all over Italy. National newspapers such as “Il Messaggero” and “Il Corriere della Sera” described Nicole as “a young, eclectic talent”. 2006 and 2011 Nicole’s name became well known and her reputation often proceeded her in the Italian music scene. She was backing vocalist to Italian singer Giorgia and American rapper Coolio, and vocalist on National Italian TV shows (Domenica In, Big Brother Italian Edition). Nicole was also selected as the youngest soprano for the Promessi Sposi Production by Michele Guardì, which preview held in Milan’s Dome and broadcasted nationally on TG3. In 2010 Nicole was selected as one of the six finalists in the Judges Houses section of the hit TV Show X-Factor Italy. In 2011 she took part of Rock City, getting truly and serious advices and compliments from Leon Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix's brother. Between 2010 and 2012 Nicole collaborated with M° Luca Ruggero Jacovella and world known famed trumpeter and film score composer Cicci Santucci (Ennio Morricone), performing in some of the finest Jazz venues in Rome. In late 2012 Nicole decides to move to London to persue her dreams and in early 2013 joined Urban Voices Collective, London’s leading vocal harmony collective (2012’s Olympic Games Choir). The list of artists Nicole has performed and collaborated with include Paloma Faith (BBC Proms 2014, BBC Awards), Sigma, Labrinth (TV BAFTAS 2015), Lionel Richie, Gary Barlow (Royal Variety Performance 2013), The Who (US Broadcast), Rita Ora, Sir Tim Rice, producer and composer David Arnold, Coldplay, Diversity (Got To Dance, Invictus Games, Up Close And Personal Tour 2015), Tom Jones, Alfie Boe (VE Day 70) , Geri Halliwell and more. |

Search | Add | 2 | Watang! | Watang! Is a surf-instro project led by El Sentenza, former banjo player from [a=The Legendary Kid Combo], together with Marla’O, guitar player from the all-female Italian garage queens [a=The Cleopatras]. This project was born at the beginning of summer 2013, with the help of Barba San, from the Italian beat band The Albinos, Cecilia Ann, famous bass based indie-pendent songwriter and Mimmi, one of the best and eclectic jazz drummers of the Garda Lake area. The former idea was to create a standard surf combo, then after a couple of weeks in the basement, the project took a different shape, mixing the musical tastes of all the musicians involved. The original surf sound took a different direction, moving towards the surf revival of the 90’s, the garage beat revival, and the traditional Oriental melodies from the Far East area. All the imaginary and the artwork was inspired by the oriental Z movies, martial arts and fancied mysterious stories from ancient east. The band wear original Kung Fu kimonos and the (dragon) ladies are dressed like famous almond eyed movies star actresses. Main influences are bands like The Bomboras, Ghastly Ones, Satan’s Pilgrims, mixed with The Ventures, Takeshi Terauchi, The Fuzztones, Gravedigger V, Roky Erikson, The Pixies, The Cramps, Link Wray, Johnny Thunders, Dick Dale, Question Mark and the Mysterians...

Search | Add | 2 | Mark R Taylor | Mark Richard Bush Taylor | From the composer: I was born in the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, on 7th October 1961, to a working family with roots in rural Essex (NE of London, England), where I still reside. My maternal great-grandfather led the town band on the penny whistle; in 1904, Vaughan Williams collected folk-songs in the road where he lived, though I've no evidence Charles sang to VW! Electrified as a boy of 4 by the sound of my mother playing the piano at home, I demanded she teach me, made precocious progress, and almost at once commenced writing my own little pieces. Very lucky with early teachers, I progressed with scholarships to Brentwood School, where such music as there was remained largely extra-curricular (though Art and Languages were strong). I was chosen to play to Dame Fanny Waterman at a young pianists' masterclass at the 1975 Aldeburgh Festival; after lessons at the Royal Academy of Music with Alexander Kelly (later Head of Keyboard there), in 1978 I gained the ARCM Performer's Diploma, and was Regional Finalist in the BBC 'Young Musician Of The Year' Competition. I was by this time playing concertos with orchestras, including as rehearsal-pianist to the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, having been noticed by their Musical Director when she was adjudicating locally. I'd become a voracious devotee of the BBC's new-music output, and had, furthermore, discovered for myself such seminal books as Michael Nyman's 'Experimental Music: Cage And Beyond', and had now already produced compositions I continue to acknowledge. In 1979 I gained an Open Scholarship to read Classics & Modern Languages at the University of Oxford; before taking it up, in 1980, I played to Jorge Bolet at a week of masterclasses at the Edinburgh Festival. Once at Oxford, I changed subject to read Music; I performed (studying now with Susan Bradshaw), wrote music-criticism for undergraduate publications, ran the University Contemporary Music Group, and joined the (non-University) composers' collective 'Soundpool'. Accepted for Post-Graduate study, but denied a grant by the policies of the Thatcher government, I worked, being asked to teach in the Music Department of Royal Holloway, University of London, from 1986, and subsequently at King's College, London, and in the Music Faculty at Oxford (this latter leading in due course to Lectureships, at Lincoln College, Lady Margaret Hall, and Oriel), whilst also giving pre-concert talks at the Wigmore Hall, and tutoring for the Workers' Educational Association. I had sought out first Howard Skempton and subsequently Horatiu Radulescu for guidance on composition; hailed as 'very different and quite remarkable' (Richard Barrett, in 'Tempo', 1988), and as an early avatar of what would come to be dubbed 'The New Complicity' (Geoff Hannan and others' term, to connote that particularly 1990's aesthetic convergence of the European avant-garde with American Experimentalism), my music -- solo and chamber -- was to be taken up by such distinguished interpreters as John Tilbury, Julian Jacobson, Ian Pace, Carl Rosman, Darragh Morgan, and Michael Finnissy; increasing exposure, nationally and internationally, saw it released on CD on the French 'Do' label in 1992, as well as being broadcast and published. I was also Featured Composer at new music festivals in Oxford (1992), Cardiff ('Explorations', 1999), and London (2000). My close involvement with artists working in visual media has led to invitations to exhibit in my own right, in London and in Amsterdam (this latter, in 2002, under the aegis of the British Council). The recent enthusiasm of New York-based pianist Teodora Stepančić has resulted in her releasing an entire album of my music, on the 'Another Timbre' label (2018). |

Come artisti italiani i primi furono i vecchi Articolo 31 , Neffa e i messaggeri e 99 Posse. Search | Add | 2 | Alycia Putnam | Since being inspired at the age of nine when she saw Natalie MacMaster in concert, Alycia Putnam has been working on her fiddle chops and a deep repertoire of foot-stompin’ tunes. The result of this dedication has been three solo albums and thousands of live performances spanning the globe from Pictou to Amsterdam, and back to Pictou. Alycia’s most recent album, the much anticipated Wired for Sound, includes 13 tracks of traditional to more eclectic fiddle music and the immense talent of 10 of the province’s most well-known musicians. Since her performing career took off in the late 90’s, Alycia has amassed a network of artists she regularly adds to her live performances depending on what’s needed for the gig. Her core family band (her dad, Robert, on guitar and her mom, Kelly, on bagpipes) can be expanded to feature percussion, bass, vocals, banjo, mandolin, and a suite of other sounds depending on who’s footing the bill. Regardless of the band’s composition, this live show has something for everyone and is a must-see for anybody who loves Cape-Breton-style fiddle music played by a mainlander.

Search | Add | 2 | Emilio Guerrero | Tejano singer and musician born in Corpus Christi, Texas in April of 1948. Emilio's musical career started while he was attending Wynn Seal Jr. High in Corpus Christi. Emilio and a group of his friends put together a band and started playing around town at private parties, record hops, and what kid’s use to call jives. fter graduating from Roy Miller High School in 1967, Emilio joined the U.S. Army and was shipped to Ft. Polk, LA for basic training. While stationed at Ft. Polk, Emilio and four other soldiers from New Jersey and New York formed a vocal group that began singing at the NCO club on base. In June 1970, Emilio returned home after being Honorably discharged from the Army and got his musical career started again. Instead of singing though, he started playing keyboards for several local bands. He played with the Johnny Canales Band, Los Lemans, and finally with T.J. & Company. Emilio got started back singing by accident. One night the singer for the band did not show up and Emilio was asked if he could fill in. Emilio agreed. From then on he became one of the band’s singers. In 1977 Zeke Saucedo (guitar), and Sam Deleon (keyboards), convinced Emilio to start his own band. In 1977, with the help of his brother Leonard Guerrero to run sound, Zeke and Sam, Charro Band was born.
