Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Mitho Kanywa | There used to be a South German band from the small town of Waldshut that won quite a few music awards such as the German Rock Prize, SWR3 Rookies and a few others on their mantelpiece at home. Then it was quiet for a while - and now they're back. Stylistically, the unabashed composition of different, long-established musical styles, regardless of time and fashion, is still convincing. Mitho Kanywa combines electronic grooves, crackling warm guitar sounds and bittersweet harmony vocals to create a mixture of music that works completely independent of space and time. Their sound sounds like an experiment in which the euphoria of the young Deutsche Welle reacts with the melancholy of Element of Crime. Songs for the stage, indie pop miniatures that sparkle and glitter like a spinning disco ball. Music for dark blue nights. Heartbeat.

Search | Add | 2 | The Cadillac Band | The Cadillac band has been playing together for many years. The name came in as late as 2004 and the one who came up with the name was Elvis Presley's drummer DJ Fontana. DJ Fontana thought The Cadillac band was fitting in many ways. Both his own and Elvis's great interest in Cadillac cars and because the band often plays the song Cadillac. DJ Fontana liked the song and recorded it himself in Nashville, and the letter combination became TCB, and everyone knows what it means to love Elvis Presley. Initially, the band consisted of Ulf Nilsson, Börje Hallberg, Mats Olsson, Erik Widman, Ronny Hall. During the time we also have on the guitar Mats MP Persson from Gyllene Tider, Johnny Z, Jimmy Svensson, Bo Eriksson, Lasse Hanzén, Anders Ehrenstråle and other musicians. Tommy Blom was the band's front figure for many years, and stage champion. Throughout the years we have had a number of guest artists as well as the band's own musicians.

With as many as nine performers on stage at a time, the early alt-country band had a big sound which was especially impressive in the many smaller venues they played throughout the mid 1970s. They morphed into a band that blurred the boundaries between Soul, R&B, Funk, and Jazz, winning a 1979 Musician's Insider Connie Hechter Award (for best over-all band) before disbanding in 1981. The band re-formed in 2000-2002, many of its original members are still active. |

Search | Add | 2 | Geri O'Brien | Geri O'Brien is a 26 year old bundle of energy from Gaspe, Quebec., who has been setting country music fans on their ear all around the country. Although Geri can play guitar, she accompanies herself instead with a snare drum, and the way she handles the drum along with singing a spectacular song has made her a prime attraction with Dusty King's Country Cats, the group with whom she appears. Geri's TV career began in Corwall in 1960, followed a stint on Sherbrooke's Channel 7 -- CHLT-TV. This led to a contract with Dusty King's group and appearances around Canada and the U.S.A. Geri's favorite country singers are Jean Sheppard, and in this her first record album she's chosen a dozen of her own special favorites. It's a listening package that will provide a mighty enjoyable sample of a talented new singer. * Biography information from the Arc album "Out Behind The Barn - With Geri O'Brien"

Search | Add | 2 | The Music Buddies | Erik: bass guitar TJ: guitar, vocals Derek: drums Taken from their release page: "Nobody can remember the exact origin but we think the band name came from a relative of Erik’s, who said it as a quaint diminutive as he left for practice with a previous band—“Oh, are you off to practice with your music buddies?” The three of us (Erik, TJ, and I) were living in a group house in Kalamazoo, between bands and dutifully enrolled at the local college, when he shared that anecdote. Guffaws were had. When we learned that TJ had a notebook full of lyrics devoted to how various scenesters had done him right and/or very wrong, it seemed a bygone conclusion: we had a name, we had a unified purpose, we had instruments and a basement and post-adolescent malaise and thus, we had a band. The Music Buddies was born. We were around from late fall of 1996 into the spring of 1997. We practiced a handful of times, usually late evening affairs that felt a lot like I’d imagine my dad’s Thursday night bowling league felt. We maybe played two shows—one a vegan potluck, the other at the legendary Comet Cafe. Somehow we were the subject of an intense, one-sided label bidding war that cooled only because we wouldn’t cede to Charles’ demands that we change our name to “Bacne.” We also recorded a demo with Ian, which he kindly helped us to mix in preparation for the either digital or lathe cut version you might be listening to right now."

Shahu Maharaj intended to maintain the status of Kolhapur as the Hollywood of Marathi cinema. Reputedly, Baburao Painter and Bhalji Pendharkar were drawn away from Prabhat Film back to Kolhapur with appropriate blandishments, as was Master Vinayak. The notable films produced by the company were Bhalji Pendharkar’s mythological ‘Akashwani’ (1934) and the debut feature of Master Vinayak ‘Vilasi Ishwar’ (1935). Among the last highlights of the studio before its closure in 1938 was D.G. Phalke’s only sound film ‘Gangavataram’ (1937). |
