Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Julius L. Schendel Concert pianist and piano teacher. Schendel made his debut in [l=Steinway Hall] in 1896. His career continued at least through the 1920s, frequently as an accompanist. He made a small handful of records for the [l=Victor Talking Machine Co.] and recorded numerous piano rolls for Duo-Art. [a=Nathaniel Shilkret], in his autobiography Sixty Years in the Music Business, recalled Schendel as “a fine pianist, but he was a very strange man – almost a mystic. He was emaciated and very nervous.” He and Shilkret (clarinet) were playing in an ensemble, and Schendel proclaimed that as it was Brahms’ birthday, he would only play his music. “We (the ensemble) compromised: We would change some pieces to Brahms compositions, providing he would play some pieces by another composer. Schendel shut his eyes, went into sort of a trance, and finally said, ‘The Master will allow me to play other composers, if you will play four Brahms pieces this session.’ We agreed.”

Search Add 5 TBandzo Northwest resident TBandzo has often stated that he never writes his lyrics down, instead preferring to freestyle. Mixing Drill with elements of Trap, TBandzo’s bouncy off the beat flow mixed with thuming 808 laced beats makes what TBandzo likes to call ‘Nrap Music’. Releasing his debut tape ‘No Reply After Payment’ in October 2022 the 7 track player demonstrated TBandzo’s stand out talent in an often samey scene. On ‘RCE Style’ TBandzo flexes his truths across a delicate beat, ‘No hand outs so please keep a hand in’. TBandz uses ‘RCE Style’ to effortlessly segway into the second half of the tape where sample based rhythms ‘PYP’, ‘T’D UP’ & ‘BOUT A SCAM’ live. All three contain energy which hits you like a punch in the face, and instantly makes you wanna get sturdy. This energy is unsurprisingly uplifted when transferred to a live setting and TBandzo knows how to emulate his recorded energy on stage leaving the audience charged up wanting more. TBandzo is just getting started and ‘No Reply After Payment’ is just the tip of the iceberg…

Search Add 5 Lucas Stagg The great Canadian artist Fred Eaglesmith once remarked that he believed one day southern Ontario will be viewed much like Texas in terms of how many great singer/songwriters each region has produced. What he heard was a common voice, capable of expressing all the joy, pain, fun and frustration of living in a place where the past and present are always seemingly at odds; a voice able to channel this tension into a sound that can’t strictly be called country, blues or rock and roll, but a bastard offspring of all three. This is Lucas Stagg. The Kitchener, Ontario native, now based in Toronto's Junction, has toured endlessly and released a dozen albums over the past decade, each a reflection of Stagg's choice of the troubadour life. By turns confessional and narrative, his songs are presented in an unadorned performance and production style that throws their lyrical and melodic content into sharp relief.

Search Add 5 Sebastian A. Dusza Sebastian Arkadiusz Dusza Sebastian Arkadiusz Dusza was born in 1978. Already as a child he became interested in music. His first simple compositions started to appear in 1984. During his whole childhood, Sebastian had contact with various music genres, from classical music to rock and metal. Already in his elementary school, he got his first toy synthesizer which he used to learn how to play, strumming what he heard. Then music paled into insignificance for a while due to exploring other passions and of course school chores, yet fascination with electronic music remained. In 1995, Sebastian’s parents got him his first PC with a soundcard which resulted in first attempts of composing music using Scream Tracker, and next Fast Tracker software. In 1996, he gave life to music project under the name Citadel of Mo. When asked about what inspired him to do so, the author stated that “the idea to create a music project came to being from the hidden urge to create music which slumbered somewhere within.” The project’s output includes several dozen of works starting from club techno, and ending on mellow moods of electronic music. Sebastian Dusza remains the leader and main producer of Citadel of Mo, while the project itself is open to cooperation with other artists. In 2005, Sebastian discovered VSTi virtual instruments and the FL Studio software. At that time, he decided to recapitulate on his most interesting works up to date in the form of his first mini-album, “Data From the Sky“. In 2006, Sebastian bought a MIDI keyboard. He started to build his home studio. In December the very same year, a new album, entitled “Next Chapter” appeared. This was his first album which came to being already in a uniform editing environment. In 2007, works of Citadel of Mo appeared in the autopilot of El-Stacja (El-Station), a non-commercial internet radio broadcasting Polish electronic music. That year, a musical motive for the movie “Agent 700: Kryptonim N.” (”Agent 700: Codename N.“) was created and distributed as an mp3 maxi-single through a website. A broadcast in El-Stacja dedicated in total to Citadel of Mo appeared a year later. 2008 became a virtuous circle for Citadel of Mo. On May 15th the broadcast of Jerzy Kordowicz (in the third channel of the Polish radio) featured “Planet RX” as a bonus to Piotr Krupski’s “Elbing 1904″, on May 31st the same composition appeared in El-Stacja in Markowe granie (Mark’s Playlist), and on July 11th once again in the broadcast of Jerzy Kordowicz. Sebastian A. Dusza derives inspiration for his works from different music genres, from classical to popular music, and ethnic music from various part of the world. His works are included in the following compilations: Contemporary Electronic Soundscapes vol. III - “ROBOT FAIRY TALES” (”Voyage Through the Stars (Robot Voice version)“) and Contemporary Electronic Soundscapes vol. IV - “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MIND” (”Dark Side of the Soul“). In the third channel of the Polish radio Jerzy Kordowicz broadcasted, apart from “Planet RX“, “Voyage Through the Stars (Robot Voice Version)” from the album CES III. El-Stacja broadcasted such compositions as “One Day in Gdynia“, “Behind the Mind” and “Onse madonse (feat. DJ Placus)“, and in addition “Third Eye” which came as 2nd in its premiere charts.

Search Add 5 Agni Avshar Agni Avshar, born on 6 July 1988 in Skopje, expressed her talent for and fondness of music at the age of 7, which was the primary reason why her mother enrolled her in the elementary music school ‘Ilija Nikolovski – Luj” in Skopje. There, for 8 years she studied playing the piano, solfege and music theory, which brought about her love for singing. As early as that age she manifested an exceptional music talent and an extraordinarily developed sense of hearing. Her first contact with a wide audience and performances at music events were her participations in piano recitals and competitions, where she appeared on her piano teacher Karmen Kostova’s insistence, which was grounded on her student’s high music potential and charismatic stage appearance. At the age of 20, in 2009, she founded a band with which she locally performed music of pop and rock genres, thus acquiring great experience in stage and vocal performance. In the meantime, she completed her studies at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje, the department for translating and interpreting English, French and Portuguese language. Having graduated, she involved herself still more actively in music-related engagements, and in 2016 she joined the Macedonian – Roma, folklore – jazz chamber ensemble upon request of Srdzan Amet. After 4 weeks of intensive rehearsals, they set off on a one-month tour to Antwerp, Belgium, where they had several concerts in Neuchateau, Antwerp and in Brussels. Upon completion of this project, Agni decided to enroll in the Musical Academy in Skopje, the department for Jazz and Popular genres, with her major being solo singing. As early as her first year of studies, her talent was noticed by her professors, and they engaged her to perform with them, where she gained most of her experience in performing on jazz gigs. In June 2019 she graduated from the Musical Academy with a grade average of 9,8. She is mostly known for her powerful yet sensual vocals, her affinity towards reviving the jazz standards from the great American Songbook, as well as jazzing up evergreens and contemporary pop music. On 8 October 2021 she releases her debut single “Soznavam” which encompasses scat vocalization. The music was written by Nikola Micevski and the lyrics by both Beti Jankovikj and Renata Kralevska.

Note that the album was originally credited to [a741159] (ie the nine core musicians), while compilation appearances usually credit the bigger entity [a615688] (ie including guest musicians and vocalists). Tältprojektet was a huge musical theater performance on the history of the Swedish working class, which toured the country the summer of 1977 in a huge circus tent. The group included over 100 people, musicians, actors, and members of some of the biggest progg bands of Sweden at the time, most notable [a=Nationalteatern]. Tältprojektet was a very radical, leftist political movement, but it included different political groups from anarchists to different types of communists and socialists. Years Active: 1977-1977

Search Add 5 Clifford Douglass Clifford Douglas Bandleader Clifford (Boots) Douglas was born in Temple, Texas, probably on September 7, 1908. Douglas, known as one of the finest Texas jazz bandleaders of his era, recorded and toured throughout Texas during the big band or Texas swing heyday of the 1930s. He began experimenting on the drums at age fifteen. He played in Central Texas before moving to San Antonio, where he got his start on the emerging jazz scene. Douglas began by accompanying Millard McNeal's Southern Melody Boys; he played his first show at Turner's Park, San Antonio, in 1926. After earning a reputation as a fine drummer and musician, he formed his own outfit, which he named Boots and His Buddies. Although highly eclectic in style, the ensemble was quite successful. The band concentrated most of its energies on playing in Texas, but made forays into surrounding states as well. Although Boots and His Buddies were not famous in New York or other eastern cities, the group garnered a large following in its home region. In 1935 Bluebird signed the band, which cut forty-two sides for the label between 1935 and 1938, including the songs "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Blues of Avalon." After reaching a pinnacle of success in the 1930s the band steadily declined in popularity. Douglas called it quits, and in 1950 packed his belongings and headed to Los Angeles. He continued to play part-time, but his job for the county government replaced music as his primary source of income. By the 1970s he had dropped out of the public eye, and he has since faded into obscurity. The specific date and place of his death are not known. Social Security Death Records do list a Clifford Douglas who was born on September 7, 1906, in Texas and died on October 27, 2000, in Los Angeles

They were one of the originators of the revolutionary aesthetics in Soviet music, and while critics later saw many of their works as propagandist "poster-songs" and denounced them for blatant obsequiousness to the communist regime, at the time Pokrass tunes were broadly popular all across the Soviet Union. Dmitry and Daniel praised Soviet military leaders and politicians in their songs, namely [a=Joseph Stalin], Kliment Voroshilov, and Semyon Budyonny. In the sixties, some of their songs were censored to remove any mentions of Stalin. Dmitry and Daniel were only two of the four Pokrass siblings active in music. The eldest brother Samuel Pokrass (1897–1939) immigrated to the United States in the end of the twenties and had a fairly successful career as Hollywood and Broadway composer. Sam Pokrass was poisoned in New York in 1939. Arkady Pokrass (1898–196?) was a virtuoso pianist and accompanist for various popular artists, including Natalia Tamara (Mitina-Buynitskaya) and Vadim Kozin. Unlike his more opportunistic brothers, Arkady didn't manage to adapt to the new ideological realities of the Soviet Union. After Kozin was arrested and sent to Kolyma in 1939, Arkady Pokrass abruptly ended his career and not much is known about him ever since. In Soviet musicological literature, the names of Arkady and Samuel were practically erased, so Pokrass brothers were seen as a duo of Dmitry and Daniel.

Search Add 5 William Finzel William Finzel, a trumpeter, led a popular Detroit dance band during the '20s known variably as Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra of Detroit or more briefly Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra. The group's recordings for labels such as Okeh and Paramount include the 1923 "Animal Fair," made considerably lively with livestock sound effects, as well as a pair of ditties for the motion-happy, "I'm Going to Wander (Back Over Yonder)" and "Keep A' Goin'." While the creative philosophy of some ensembles can be gleaned simply by looking at the titles of recorded tracks, the repertoire played by Finzel's ensemble in the recording studio was less a matter of personal taste than simply keeping up with popular sheet-music titles.
