Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 12 | Carlos Juan Casado | Spanish executive (1949-1992), also visual credits. Worked in marketing for Hispavox since late 1960s (managed [l1053227] sublabel), later in Ariola and since 1983 in Virgin Spain until his dead.

| Search | Add | 12 | Trase | TRASE (Erik de Wal, 1976) is a MC from The Netherlands and brings the real Hip Hop since '91. Went for his in 1997 after breaking up with his former band. TRASE stands for Things Really Ain't So Easy. TRASE in fact is his tagname which he came up with around 1989/1990. Basically formed for the great letters and it's diversity to design with. TRASE originally started as a graffiti artist. After elementary school TRASE discovered his love for the manipulation of the English language. Growing up in the north of The Netherlands, he tried to hit every mic available. Back in 1995 he started rocking house parties and ciphers alongside his formerly partner in rhyme, Signha and DJ Dear. Together they formed "The Buckwild Tribe", a group which fell apart in the end of 1997. In a period of 4 years they recorded some demo tracks which were never officially released. TRASE took it to the next level when he decided to leave the group and by taking manners in his own hand. It was 1998. TRASE was on mission to pursue his own solo career. He was tired of the no progress type of phases he had been dwelling in during the last years. The match with IMPRO turned out to be promising; they released their first product in 2001. The debut EP “The Encounta” attained favorable reviews. In the period after TRASE has worked on a project with several local artists and started working on another solo release. Originally he was to release a fully length untitled LP, but after completing several tracks it was shelved for reasons that were not entirely clear. In 2003 TRASE took his time to focus on new songs and has spent a lot time recording and performing. The same year he released “The Essentials”, a compilation of several songs recorded between 2001 and 2004. In 2007 another album (“Fase Of Transition”) was released. The past decades he connected, collaborated and performed with artists from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and The United States. In 2012 several albums were released; One EP followed by two albums. October 2013 saw the release of a new collaborative album with Sneek-based producer E.daBeatdetonator entitled "Back In Prime Form" on the Freshmess Music label. The first single was "Listen". Three years later another single from the album (“Wonder Years”), received an award for Best Hip Hop Song (January 2016) in America. In 2014 TRASE is back to the lab working on new material, because it’s about time for Hip Hop to resurface with true lyrics. With his latest release “The Travels of TRASE TRONIK”, which has been recorded between 2014 and 2017, TRASE continues his career as an solo artist. On this seventh studio album TRASE has worked with several national and international producers, which gives the overall outlook of the project a real diverse sound. Heavily nineties Hip Hop experienced like all TRASE albums, TRASE sets the vibe for a 45 minute ride through all kinds of subjects. To promote the album three singles and videos have been released so far. The album also will be digitally available through all top digital music services like Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, TIDAL and many more. | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Tex Withers | Tex was born in Texas and abandoned as a baby because of his many deformities and arrived in England when he was seven. His rise in British country music showed remarkable resilience: he was four feet tall and a hunchback with a painful history of severe spinal problems and tuberculosis. Withers wore western dress throughout the day as he longed to be an American Indian - his wife, known as White Fawn, dressed as his squaw and smoked a clay pipe. A good-natured man who laughed at his handicaps, Withers was the long-standing compère at West London’s Nashville Room and won several awards as the Top UK country singer, his show-stoppers being ‘These Hands’ and a narration about a Red Indian’s difficulties in coming to terms with society, ‘The Ballad Of Ira Hayes’. Tex Withers Sings Country Style sold 135, 000 copies, while his 1973 album, The Grand Ole Opry’s Newest Star was recorded mainly in Nashville, Tennessee. He was championed by Hank Snow, but his professional career was cut short by throat illness. Withers became bankrupt and his illiteracy made work difficult. His last years were spent as a cleaner at Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath railway station. He found his happy hunting ground on 29 December 1986, probably aged 53, and merited an obituary in The Times. | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Shannon Two Feathers | SHANNON TWO FEATHERS (Also worked as "Shannon twofeathers") Born: September 16, 1936 - Sandy Bay, Manitoba, CANADA Shannon Two Feathers was a Canadian Aboriginal (Anishnabe) singer/songwriter who achieved national recognition through his 1978 album "Dreams That Feed A Gypsy", released on the Edmonton, Alberta-based WSM Records label. Prior to the release of the album, Shannon Two Feathers' songs and vocal stylings were heard through a series of single releases, with his debut disc coming in 1972 on the Kanata label with the songs "The Only Way To Keep It" b/w "And She Travels" (KAN-1014). A follow-up came in 1973 on the IMI label with the single "Separation Blue" b/w "The Prisoner". An obscure and highly collectable album on the IMI label entitled "Separation Blue" was also reportedly issued in 1973. "The Prisoner" song, written by Shannon Two Feathers, was such a popular radio hit that RCA Canada picked up the recording and re-issued it as a single (KPBO-0005) b/w "Sweet Gypsy Hair", and it became Shannon Two Feathers' only nationally charted single, peaking at #20 on the RPM Charts in 1973 Shannon Two Feathers' next release came in 1975 on the Maple Haze Records label with the tunes "One Step Outside" b/w "Smile" (MH-7505). The 1978 release of his "Dreams That Feed A Gypsy" album on the WSM label also brought several single releases with the title track tune b/w "Smile" (WSM 45-507) and the follow-up "Maria" b/w "Daddy Doesn't Live There Anymore". The album, featuring all original songs written by Shannon Two Feathers, was co-produced by Shannon Two Feathers with Wes Dakus at Edmonton's Sundown Studios and was critically acclaimed, but unfortunately not well promoted by the independent label and not aggressively supported by Canadian country radio. Aside from his own recordings, Shannon Two Feathers also had his songs recorded by fellow Aboriginal artist Don Stonechild, with his 1978 WSM single "Child Of Stone" b/w "New Orleans". In addition to his talents as a singer and songwriter Shannon Two Feathers also appeared in the National Film Board movie "The Red Dress", and he wrote songs and music for the 1988 movie "Poundmaker's Lounge - A Healing Place". He was also an artist, with his Illustrations prominently featured in the book "People Of The Buffalo", authored by his multi-award winning wife, Maria Campbell. Shannon Two Feathers was inducted into the Manitoba Aboriginal Music Hall Of Fame in 2008. He has since been deceased, although date of death has not yet been confirmed by this writer. Also unconfirmed at this time is a surname, which may be "Roulette" or " Freddy Shannon" | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Michael Rougier | Born in England on June 16, 1925, Michael Rougier began his career as a photographer for the Montreal Standard newspaper. His big break came when he was assigned to photograph cattle being shipped to Argentina from Canada. While in Argentina, he made photos of the then-camera shy Eva Perón, eventually smuggling the pictures out of the country and back north. Those images ran in both the Standard and in LIFE, where he was hired as a staff photographer in November 1947, remaining with the magazine for more than two decades. (He eventually left at the end of 1971, a year before LIFE ceased publishing as a weekly.) During his 24 years with the magazine, Rougier displayed the sort of versatility for which so many of LIFE’s photographers were known. He covered the Korean War with his greatest work focusing on children orphaned by that conflict. He covered the Hungarian revolution of 1956, weddings in North Dakota, Boy Scouts, horse racing, drug-addled Japanese teens and countless other stories, in countless other locations. He exemplified the ideal of the staff photographer, for whom no assignment was too small (or too big). Early in his career at LIFE, he accepted a handful of assignments that illuminated his compassion for the powerless. The first was a story about a blind poodle named Midget. The story goes that he almost passed out in the operation room while Midget was being operated on to restore her sight. He also photographed a story in Texas in 1948 about a cat that got around via wheelchair. He even adopted a goat after covering a “goat round-up” in Virginia in 1950. The one story that most perfectly captures Rougier’s remarkable empathy for his subjects, however, involved a Korean orphan named Kang (see slide #4 in this gallery). In 1951, he was sent to southeast Asia to cover the Korean War (replacing his LIFE colleague, John Dominis). While there, Rougier came across the Taegu orphanage and met Kang, a boy who would eventually be introduced to the LIFE’s readers as “the boy who wouldn’t smile.” At one point, Rougier sent a remarkable open letter to his colleagues back at Time Inc. in New York asking—in fact, almost begging—for assistance to help Kang and the orphanage. (“You might be a helluva long way from war in a bar in New York but these kids can’t remember anything but war few of them remember anything of their life before their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were killed right before their eyes. Get the contacts of my first take and look at them look at Kang and then please send some stuff.”) The letter got results. The orphanage received money, books, vitamins, clothing. Kang did, eventually, smile and was adopted by an American family. From the first, Rougier was recognized as a stellar photojournalist by his peers, and won Magazine Photographer of the Year honors from the National Press Photographers Association in 1954. In 1964, meanwhile, on assignment in Antarctica, Rougier almost met his death when he was seriously injured after tumbling more than 600 feet down a mountainside while covering scientists who were working at the bottom of the world studying glaciers. Today, the peak is called “Rougier Hill,” in honor of the intrepid photographer who nearly died on its slopes. Michael Rougier, who was an accomplished sculptor in addition to being a masterful photojournalist, died in Canada on January 5, 2012. | |

The Joshua Light Show (est. 1967) is a pioneering, improvised, psychedelic liquid light show founded by Joshua White, famous for its 1968–1971 residency at Bill Graham's Fillmore East. Using analog, hand-mixed oil, water, and watercolor projections on overhead projectors, the show created immersive, colorful visuals for iconic acts like Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, and The Grateful Dead. The show used a "live" technique, using overhead projectors with liquids (glycerin/oil), slide projectors, and color wheels to create, in real-time, visuals that matched the music. Besides the Fillmore East, they performed at Woodstock, Carnegie Hall, and the Tate Liverpool. The show was featured on the cover of Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys.

Her first track, released under the pseudonym NyaNatty, was entitled 'One Love Style'. She wrote the song while travelling on the train to a recording session for the group Black Slate which they recorded and released on the S&G Records label. Barbara went on to work with UB40, recording several tracks for their DEP International record label. 'Suffering' featured on the B-side of the band's UK top 10 hit 'Please Don't Make Me Cry'. She was offered a 5-year recording contract with DEP International but declined after being invited to join the all-female band Akabu, first as a drummer, then as guitarist/backing vocalist. As an integral part of Akabu, she toured continuously all over the world, performing at the world famous Reggae Sunsplash festival, and at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Gardens and the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. After several years as a member of Akabu, Barbara decided it was time to pursue a solo career and she released several singles, as well as her debut album 'No Apologies' on the Ruff Cutt label. She became a regular feature of the critically acclaimed Ruff Cutt Band, becoming one of the most highly rated backing vocalists in the reggae business. Barbara has regularly worked with a long list of the most prestigious reggae acts both live and in the studio, including artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Luciano, Sanchez, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Cornell Campbell, Al Campbell and Michael Rose, to name just a few. As well as being a talented vocalist, Barbara is also an accomplished musician, composer, producer and music programmer. She produced and programmed a number of the rhythm tracks for songs on her debut album and has programmed and produced all the rhythm tracks for her latest album, Empress Lioness, which was released on March 25th, 2013." | Search | Add | 12 | Bradley G | Bradley Green | British DJ/Producer, co-founder of [l=FTD Records], son of [a339122] He began his career as a guitarist in a band called "Destiny" who played the London club scene in the mid 1990s. Bradley G went on to found the band [a=Wizkid (2)] who produced and played with experimental forms of dance music to club goers in and around London. In 1997 Bradley G established "Eastside Studios" with partner, House music producer and DJ Colin Russell, in a new purpose built complex above the popular nightclub "Harlequins" in Ilford, east London. The Harlequins nightclub is rumoured to be one of the places where the popular UK music genre "Garage music" is thought to have originated.[citation needed] Eastside ran until 1998 when Bradley G formed FTD Records and built the "Skylight Studios" with Tony Ruby in the same building complex. In late 1999 the "Skylight Studios" moved to a converted house in East London, renamed "The Attic" and ran for a further three years. In 2002, "The Attic" moved to its final location, "Ferry Lane" Studios in Rainham, Essex. Bradley G’s most successful release was “Sweetheart”, released on Valentine’s day (Feb 14th) 2001 This track was number 1 in the garage charts for 11 weeks . The record was distributed by FTD Records in association with the then popular pirate radio station Erotic 101.3FM. In late 2002, nearly a year after release Bradley G issued a repress of "Sweetheart" limited to 1,000 copies. These final copies were numbered FTD0001 – FTD1001 and sold out within one hour of going to market. Bradley G also performed a UK tour of Sweetheart with Jennifer O’Kane and MC Sel at the height of the tracks fame. In March, April and May 2001 they performed in excess of 100 live PA’s at many UK & worldwide club venues. Bradley G finally left UK Garage in 2004 and went on to produce a mainstream band lead by Charlotte Jackson at Ferry Lane Studios. Bradley dismissed Charlotte and the project after a lengthy argument with third party publishing company who refused to allow the use of a song they had already recorded. In 2013 Bradley decided to start up his own franchise of https://www.greenssteakhouse.com/ where he is also executive chef. |

Lathe Cutting is a process which utilizes a sharp cutting stylus to engrave or emboss sound grooves onto a disk. Lathe cut records are an alternative to the modern practice of pressing records with metal plates. In lathe cutting a voice coil is used to drive a needle which cuts the sound waves into the revolving disk beneath it. This method has long been used for producing lacquer masters, which are then used to make metal plates for pressing. Most of the machines used for this purpose were manufactured pre-1960. Our particular machine (Presto 75A) began production in 1938. In recent years many people have begun experimenting with utilizing these machines to produce limited edition, unique records out of unorthodox materials such as picnic plates and plastic disks.

| Search | Add | 12 | Mohamed Marocain | Mohamed Hamadi | (1907-1973). |

In junior high he began playing guitar and singing in rockabilly bands, performing after high school basketball games and at teen clubs. His primary group, The Vibratones, performed seasonally at Lime Lake Pavilion dance hall where Levon Helm & The Hawks and The Rockin' Rebels ("Wild Weekend") also played regularly. He was graduated from Ten Broeck Academy / Franklinville Central School and attended the University of Buffalo for two years where his bands were contemporaries of Stan & The Ravens, The Rising Sons (featuring Jimmy Caliri) and Ronnie James Dio & Elf. (Robert's group opened for Link Wray & The Wraymen and sometimes performed as "The Roddymen," WKBW deejay and "Price Is Right" announcer Rod Roddy's record hop group.) Robert transferred to St. Bonaventure University and was graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Management. While there he worked in small R&B and pop-rock combos, gaining an opening act slot for Patti Page at the Three Rivers Inn in Syracuse, NY. Following college, he moved to New York City and signed with Herb Alpert's A&M Records, releasing one single, "For Awhile We Helped Each Other Out" b/w "When I'm Wrong You Never Forget." After brief stints with Eastman Kodak Co. and the U.S. Army, Robert began performing as a soloist in the Rochester, NY metro. His singles "Cookie & Lila" and "Movin' In The Same Circles" both charted Top 10 on country station WNYR and his original, "Livin' The Life," received national notice in Billboard magazine. Over the next 15 years he released two vinyl LPs, "Let The Cowboy Dance" and "Rest Your Love On Me Awhile," four cassette-only releases, "That's All," "Let It Be Me," "Case Country," and "Always," as well as numerous vinyl singles. During this time, Robert appeared as opening act in concert with national recording artists including: Ricky Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Marty Robbins, Tammy Wynette, The Statler Brothers, Riders In The Sky, Asleep At The Wheel, Sonny James, The Bellamy Brothers, Little Jimmy Dickens, David Houston, Cal Smith, the Original Drifting Cowboys (Hank Williams Sr.’s band), and Ronny Robbins (Marty’s son.) Robert performed regularly at the Americana Rochester hotels, the Country Warehouse, the Schoolhouse, the Periwinkle Pub, and was a staple of the city's annual Lilac Festival. For three years he owned and operated country music venue Case's California Ranch on Honeoye Lake in New York state's Finger Lakes district. The Gannett Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper's "Best Of" reader's poll named him the area's top local country music artist. Robert was a guest entertainer aboard a country music theme cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines' SS Norway starring George Jones and Mickey Gilley who suggested he try Branson, MO. He began ten seasons on the Branson strip, entertaining at such venues as the Country Pub, Roy Clark's Loft, the Polynesian Princess showboat (music director), and the Welk Theatre's Canteen Lounge, releasing the cassette-only "Alive And Well In Branson, MO" and the Hawaiian-themed "Holo Aku." Simultaneously he worked seven winter seasons at the Orlando, FL metro's western-themed resort River Ranch. After a year in Ft. Lauderdale (Armadillo Cafe and Coop's in Davie. FL), Robert relocated to the San Antonio / Austin, TX area, performing regularly in Gruene (Gruene River Grille) and Canyon Lake (the Lakeview, Papa Docks, the Old Windmill, and Anchor's Landing). There he was opening act in concert for Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash band), Two Tons Of Steel, and the Ace In The Hole band (George Strait band.) For the last several years Robert has called Slick, OK (Tulsa metro) home, entertaining one year in Branson, MO (Big Cedar Lodge) and five years at Tulsa's Western Country Diner. He again opened for Riders In The Sky and in 2014 formed the western music duo A Little Farther West with his wife Susie on keyboards. The group has released five albums, "A Little Farther West," "Mountain Storm," "God Must Be A Cowboy," "Christmas On The Line," and "Vaya Con Dios." A Little Farther West has held local residencies at historic Route 66 venues The Beach House and C&J's Restaurant and appeared as opening act in concert with Michael Martin Murphey and Sons Of The Pioneers. They have performed multiple seasons at such Old West celebrations as the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show at the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Will's Country Christmas at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch. |

Enthusiastic about the variety of melodies and sounds of electronic music, he decided to start his musical career in the year 2006. So he bought his first equipment and started with Djing. Exhilarating and energetic sets are to expect from him, which he celebrates with much joy and love for the music. After some time of Djing Markus had the idea to create his own unique sound. So a period of experimentation in the field of music production followed. This lifted his sound to a higher level. His tracks are inspired by house and techno which are his musical roots. Markus creates his tracks with a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the music, what you can hear in the little details between the notes. |

| Search | Add | 12 | Alfred Gill | British bandleader and violinist (July 18, 1892 - February 5, 1966). He was touring the halls in the early days of the 20th century as "Alfredo, the Vagabond Violinist". From December 1922 up until 1925, Alfredo is shown in "British Dance Bands on Record" as being a member of [a=Jack Hylton And His Orchestra]. In 1925, Alfredo formed a band of his own, to play at the New Princes restaurant. This band included sax player and vocalist [a=Bert Brown (2)], who had also been a member of Hylton's organization. The other members of the band included [a=Arthur Wilson (5)] (trumpet), [a=Laurie Day (2)] (piano) and [a=Charles E. Harris] (drums). The band played at the New Princes for about 2 years. During the latter part of 1926, Alfredo re-organized the band and it now contained a fairly stable personnel right up until he disbanded in 1930. He recorded for [l=Edison Bell Limited] from 1925 until 1930 and after the 1926 reshuffle, the band maintains the same distinctive sound right through. It was not a large band (generally a nine-piece) but they made some fine records for [l=Edison Bell Winner], [l=Winner (2)], [l=Edison Bell Electron] and [l=Edison Bell Radio], some of which feature fine hot solos by trumpeter [a=Alfie Noakes] (father of television's [a=John Noakes], of "Blue Peter" fame). Some records have extra musicians added. The Rust/Forbes discography gives a bewildering mixture of differing personnel for the band, the records were made by the 'main' personnel of: [a=Alfie Noakes] (t), [a=Richard MacDonald] (tb), [a=Claude Cavalotti] (as),/ [a=Bert Brown (2)] (ts), [a=Alfred Gill] (vn), [a=Frank Walsh (4)] (p), [a=Steve Gauna]) (bj, g), [a=Tom Eggerton] (bb), and [a=Charles E. Harris] (d). ([a=Les Allen], [a=Mark Sheridan (4)] & [a=Ron Garrison] replace Brown, Gauna & Eggerton during 1927/28). The other personnel given in the discographies refer to the many other bands which Alfredo organized during this time, such as the band he put into the Park Lane Hotel in 1927 which was directed by Wilbur Blinco (this is not Jay Wilbur, despite the comment in Rust/Forbes). According to his letterhead (in an advert in 1928), he is described as "director of dance orchestras" and lists his engagements as: New Princes restaurant, Grafton Galleries club, Moss Empire theatres, Stoll theatres. When Les Allen joined the band in 1927, it is noticeable that, along with Allen, [a=Hal Swain] also contributes some vocal choruses to the band's records. Swain had his own band to run (also at the "New Princes"), so it unlikely that he was a member of Alfredo's band, he was probably present just for the recordings; he may also play saxophone on the records. Worth mentioning here is the fact that Swain, Allen, Frank Walsh & Ron Garrison had all been members of Swain's New Princes Toronto Band in 1925. In 1931, Alfredo changed his style of music, forming a gypsy band (mainly of genuine Romanies, initially). He made a few records for HMV under the sober name of "Alfredo and his Orchestra". His right-hand man, [a=Claude Cavalotti] was a member of the gypsy band too. | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Jennifer McCray | Jennifer McCray is a singer / songwriter. Growing up as a part of a musical family, Jennifer's father being a successful recording artist landing a number 1 hit in the 70's with the song "Rock your baby" had given her the opportunity to experience music at a very young age. Jennifer started writing poetry at the young age of 6 years old and has been given singing lessons as well as singing in the church choir . Born in Miami Beach Florida, Jennifer moved to Canada (where her mother is from) and at 17 ventured off to Europe for the first time where her father was living. During a recording session in a studio in Belgium, Jennifer met her future manager Ronny Flas who exclusively signed her as an artist of TSP Records. From then on Jennifer decided to pursue a career in music by experimenting with different styles and writing all her own songs. She got the chance to work in Metropolis studios in London with her first single "Do Anything" a song written by Hawk Wolinski. After a lot of work in songwriting for herself and for other artists as Silvano for which she composed the song "Encore" that reached N°3 in the charts, Jennifer is really concentrating on her debut album. The first single released out of this album was "Connected". It reached N°2 in the charts. After the singles "Connected", "In Your Head" and "Letting Me Go" Jennifer will soon release her first album. | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Ivan Bullock | Ivan Bullock | Ivan was born in the mid 70s and enrolled in Piano and Violin training at a young age in his home town, Canberra. By the teens, he had focused exclusively on Violin, enjoying a point of difference by not just having the only white instrument case in town, but also playing an instrument lovingly crafted by his (now deceased) Father (a part time instrument maker), from a striking African hard wood “Zebrano”. By the age of 18 however, neck injury sustained from prolonged use of the instrument put an end to music creation. Over the next few years Ivan experimented with the digital arts and set about listening to a broad range of music from progressive and metal, through to industrial, ambient, and of course classical. The late 1990′s saw a large personal adjustment and long-term move to Tokyo, which became a catalyst for creativity and learning. The intensity, stress and isolation of central Tokyo living also birthed Mystral Tide, leading to years of experimentation with break-beats, piano and synthesis. Sean Cooper of Zeitgeist Records (Brisbane) produced and funded the first official CD release “Whirlpool of Souls”, which led to performance opportunities in Europe and Japan. Over the next few years two more full albums were released, “Geometry of Loss” a 3 CD set recorded in Tokyo and completed in Melbourne, and “Isle of Narrows” a sorrowful and dark classical journey released in 2009. After returning to Australia and settling in Melbourne, Ivan began investing time and finances into the general support of underground musicians. For over a decade Dawn Industry (formerly Demus), fought against the commercialised and mundane profit-driven music “industry” through a series of Australian events called Enzyme, providing underground artists a release-platform and regular live performance opportunities. |
