Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Moose Charlap | Morris Isaac Charlip | Mark "Moose" Charlap (December 19, 1928 – July 8, 1974) was a Jewish-American Broadway composer. Born in Philadelphia, he was best known for "Peter Pan" (1954), for which Carolyn Leigh wrote the lyrics. The idea to do the show came from Jerome Robbins, who planned to have a few songs by Charlap and Leigh. However, the show evolved into a full blown musical, with additional songs by Jule Styne and Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It starred Mary Martin as Peter Pan and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook. Charlap was married to singer Sandy Stewart, whose biggest hit was My Coloring Book in 1962. They had one son--Bill Charlap, a well-known jazz pianist. Charlap had a daughter Anne Charlap and son Tom Charlap, a bass player, from a previous marriage |

His music is a diary, first lines written further from electronic designs: it all starts with a minor fact, an image, a landscape. The following is all about being the witness of one’s own trek. |

Search | Add | 3 | Nyx Aether | Nyx Aether | At the core of Nyx Aether stands singer and main songwriter Mylene van den Weijer, who came up with the basic foundation for the project in 2010. Mylene had musical aspirations for a long time. Her urge to create something of her own grew into a set of musical and lyrical idea’s that had a distinctive dark energy to them. The concepts explored within the lyrics would touch upon paganism and occultism, but also on human qualities such as the choices we have to make in life and what is needed to become a truly free-spirited human being. For the musical side, Mylene got in touch with Tom de Wit (known for his work with TDW & Mind:Soul) by a happy coincidence. After listening to her ideas, he took up the challenge to translate Mylene’s ideas into a full set of songs. It only took a few months to create the debut-album thanks to the working chemistry between these two protagonists. The debut-album was called Entering Into Rebirth and was released into the world through Layered Reality Productions in the Autumn of 2012. |

Search | Add | 3 | Necrofulgurate | NECROFULGURATE hailed from the United States, and released two demos in super-limited editions. It was a one-time project, helmed by one man, intended for vile, raw death metal: NECROFULGURATE was hateful of all trends and posers, and suitably aimed for its music to be a rejection of that. Thus, it rejected lofty metaphysical concepts so prevalent in nowadays death metal and instead stuck to violent, war-themed lyrics espousing a hatred for mankind. Similarly, minimal equipment was used, with intentionally simplistic riffing that showed complexity in the smallest of details, nor was any "atmosphere" intentional. NECROFULGURATE never intended for either of its two demos to be released - in fact, they were almost deleted - but support from underground labels changed that. No gimmicks, no frills, no mystery: NECROFULGURATE's epitaph is written with Putrid Veil.

Search | Add | 3 | Smuk | Roger Folke-Olsen | The Smuk project is the idea based on the lack of minimalistic house and techno in the Norwegian music scene. At least that's what he thought when he created his first tracks on 'Mekanikk EP'. It seems as he was a bit wrong, if all the wonderful underground related projects which he later learnt to know are counted. To those who know him well, he is known by the name Roger, but his full name is Roger Folke-Olsen. He has now in 2004 reached the age of 24, and has been creating music for no less than eight years. Back then, he started off with old school break beats and hardcore, related to his musical roots from the UK happy hardcore / break beat scene. Since then, his musical taste and experience has changed quite radical. With deeper grooves, melodic, bizarre space fusion and intergalactic breakbeats, he brings you the sound of tomorrow. |

Search | Add | 3 | Aniso Tropics | Liam Fairclough | Liam Fairclough is a Manchester-based producer who records and performs as Aniso Tropics. Most recently Liam has been signed up by legendary Manchester-located deep house and disco label Paper Recordings for a 4 track EP, proudly cataloguing him alongside well established outfits such as Crazy P, Salt City Orchestra and Miguel Migs. Liam has been making experimental electronic music from a young age, harking back to toying with primitive DAW's and virtual instruments on an IBM in his parents front room in the late 90's. There may be fragments of Liam's teenage era sounds lurking on old semi-broken websites under pseudonyms such as SulphuR and Brand New Retro. Liam entered his adulthood with a passion for sharing and promoting fellow bedroom artists from across the globe via his own record label Retronym, co-created with his friend Lee Ackerley and housing artists such as Boreal Network and Cilocub. With the Retronym website gradually phasing out with the rise of Bandcamp and SoundCloud, Liam re-focused himself on his own production as Aniso Tropics around 2015, as well as DJing across various venues across the UK. Liam released his debut record, 'Laic Indelica' in 2020, a downtempo affair themed on late night Youtube binges for sample oddities, spaced-out synthesis and off-kilter atmospherics. His latest output is more reminiscent of dance music past and present, starting from the 70's Kosmiche through to the ages of electronica, deep, techno, Balearic and elsewhere. |

Search | Add | 3 | Ustad Hafizullah Khan | Hafizullah Khan, who passed away in 2002, was a virtuoso of the sarangi. The sarangi is India's premier fiddle instrument; to most western ears it probably most resembles the violin. It is comprised of a solid wood body, three main playing strings, and 35-40 sympathetic strings. There are no frets of fingerboards, the strings hover over the body of the instrument and the performer changes the pitch by sliding his or her fingernails along the strings. It has an absolutely uncanny ability to imitate the sound of the human voice -- indeed most sarangi masters are also vocalists, as was Hafizullah Khan.

Search | Add | 3 | Midheach | Cóilín Ó Midheach | Midheach, pronounced me-ock, is the alias of Irish musician Cóilín Ó Midheach, whose family name finds its origin in the folktales of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and a story of regeneration and healing. Releasing his debut EP ‘Unity-Divinity-Love’ into a world of fear and uncertainty during the first lockdown was far from ideal, but the intent and message behind the songs struck a chord with listeners who sought union and looked to the Divine in a period of upheaval. Describing himself as having “received” the songs on ‘Unity-Divinity-Love’, there is a sense of connection to something powerful and meaningful, as Midheach distils Irish mythology and tradition in an authentic and moving voice. Embracing the Heavens while retaining a strong grounding to nature and the Great Mother, Midheach blends the ethereal with the organic, resonating with his spiritual beliefs and Celtic roots. The age-old need to classify and categorise artists is something that eludes Midheach's style - he simply refers to it as “music from the heart”. |
