Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Tony Murray joined on drums in early 2008 and they would remain a 4-piece-band. Search | Add | 4 | Virtual Trio | Virtual Trio are a collective of Irish musicians formed in 2008. They released their debut album Grief Proof Pauper in 2012. Their ninth album Drift, released 3rd May 2022. The group played together for the first time in 2017, after nearly 10 years of working together across continents. Their 2012 debut album Grief Proof Pauper was the culmination of 4 years of work, with emigration starting their collaboration across multiple continents. They have continued intercontinental collaboration since, and employ diverse methods to create music - their 2014 album Departures was improvised and recorded in one day, Dextor Gordon's words became a perfect glue for 2015's 16 minute long Fishbowl, Noam Chomsky was employed for vocals on 2016's Doing Great (he was clear that it "sounds fine"!), and the group released 3 albums and a single in June 2018 to celebrate a decade of fun. 2020's Six marked a shift for the group towards more accessible and lively music, although they twisted towards weird again with 2021's genre hopping meditative Vile Circus Body Scan. Their exploration of synthesizers brought them to a more relaxed (and sometimes dark) place with 2021's Cinema and 2022's Drift.

Search | Add | 4 | Paulão Sakae Tahira | Paulo Sakae Tahira | Respected Brazilian DJ and music researcher DJ Paulão gives Spannered a sniff of his sprawling record collection When it comes to digging up lost Brazilian classics, Paulo Sakae Tahira is something of an archaeologist. A full-time researcher of música brasileira from the second half of the 20th century, Paulão (that's 'Big Paul', to non-Portuguese speakers) isn't, thankfully, the kind of vinyl addict who keeps his prized finds hidden away under lock and key; his DJ performances have taken him all over Brazil, and as far afield as France, Spain and Switzerland. Hailing from the concrete jungle of São Paulo, Paulão moved to the nearby city of Campinas in the early nineties, where he developed both his skills as a DJ and his reputation as a discerning connoisseur of his country's music (with particular focus to the 60s and 70s). There he helped to establish Rádio Muda, a terrestrial radio project to which he still contributes. Together with friends, he was responsible for bringing big name acts to Campinas during the nineties with a series of seminal parties, Festas Black. In the years since, Paulão has been involved in promoting various other events, and has played alongside many of the country's best-known artists. He also writes for the excellent Brazilian music site Gafieiras. Now based back in São Paulo, Paulão is currently finalising details of his second European tour (you can find out where and when to catch him by visiting his site). His scope as a record selector extends far beyond the shores of Brazil, to Afrobeat, New Orleans jazz and various other strains of Black music and rare groove, but if you want a taste of real deal Brazilian hot stuff, check this out... |

Search | Add | 4 | Kurac Od Ovce | Kurac Od Ovce (or roughly Sheep's Dick) was a band from Kutina, Croatia. It was formed in 1993 and had a couple of line-up changes through the years. They were one of the bands/people involved at Baraka venue/project. They played a straightforward melodic hardcore/punk. The lyrics are in a straight edge vein but they're not preaching, they're angry and personal. Lots of songs of this band are forgotten, but few of them are recorded on 3 albums. Their last release was album Čovjek S Greškom (2001) released only on tape. It's a double A side release, same tracks on both sides of the tape which was released on Humanita Nova label.
Search | Add | 4 | qoru | Jac Neich | Based in Australia, Jac Neich (professionally known as ‘qoru’) started producing hip hop music reminiscent of the 1990’s when he was 15. He began to distribute his music on SoundCloud going under a persona named ‘jxcques’ which was later changed after the release of his 2020 mixtape ‘qoru, vol. 1’. In February of 2021 he released the following sequel, ‘vol. 2’. In an interview he stated; “Looking back on them, I’m not really fond of how basic they were. But I remember they were merely my way of starting out and getting onto the hip-hop scene.” Later in the year, he resubmitted both ‘vol. 1’ and vol. 2’ on streaming services as a joint project, named ‘growing up’. After he found his place in the industry, qoru shook the ground with project after project, making 2021 not only his sophomore year as a producer but his most fruitful year to date. These projects would include ‘THE LAST STRAW’ as well as releasing his first commercial album ‘Dropout’ featuring Kid Jac and Mxlly. His second album, ‘Intoxicated’ (released 29th October) held no features and reached the number one placement on the Bandcamp discover page for instrumental hip hop before its release. “Heaven (You're Gone)” was used as the headlining song for a bandcamp radio exclusive, titled ‘The Hip Hop Show’ Episode 25, hosted a week before the album release, on 22nd October. Finally, Intoxicated is currently at an astonishing 10,000 plays (and counting) on bandcamp. |

Search | Add | 4 | Burnt Fur | Burnt Fur (2003-2010) was an electronic band from Boston, MA comprised of Scott Harrison (vocals, guitar, songwriter, producer), Shana Simpkins (vocals, drum pads), Patrik Tirda (samples and keyboards) and Ian St. Germain (bass, drum pads). The band surfaced in response to the wave of artists revisiting the sounds of '80's new wave, intending to perform as a full band rather than standing by a cluster of electronics that could do most of the work. Each member would perform with a primary instrument, but they were known to swap instruments often depending on what suited their songs. Although heavily influenced by new wave, Harrison and St. Germain had previously been in a band called Tracy Husky that sounded much more like the gauzy, feedback and distortion sound of Sonic Youth than the dance driven sound of New Order. They wanted to blend these ideas together, creating an organic yet sonic sound coupled with bright, precise electronics. Tirda would manipulate sampled sounds from the golden age of arcade games to blend in and out of Harrison's swirling, effect driven guitars. Having four members ensured that there was always someone performing on the stand up drum pad kit, which would further differentiate the band from the majority of electronic acts that did not have live percussion. Gathering together the songs they had created from 2003-2006 the band recorded two singles to release while they continued to perform locally and complete their debut album. "Vitriol," the first single released the summer of 2007, was chosen to contrast heavily against what the band perceived as weak electronic acts in the aftermath of the electroclash scene that had occurred earlier in the decade. The band decided to release cover songs for b-side material, New Order's "Ultraviolence," and The Human League's "Seconds," again for contrast and to show solidarity with the selections. The single received mixed reviews but connected the band with some of the right locals, ones that would understand where they were headed. The band's next single in November of that year was "Radiate," which would have moderate success in Europe and the west coast of the US. Slowly the band built a following in their hometown while completing their debut album during the winter. In spring 2008 their debut Unfurl was released. This gave the band the break they needed with the local and national press via blogs and music websites. The band was featured in Electronic Musician magazine in a piece covering D.I.Y. electronic releases in April that year. Most reviews were impressed with the release, with a few detractors that would clearly prefer their electronic music more polished and with layers of production. Having a full electronic band meant having a lot of equipment to carry in order to perform, and this led to the band performing sporadically in the New England area. While planning to embark on a tour on the east cost of the the US to support the album, Shana Slater announced she would be parting with the band as she was moving to Florida. Quickly they adapted to become a three piece band, but the missing fourth member meant they could no longer play as many instruments in a live setting. After fulfilling any performance dates they had scheduled the search for a new fourth member began. The third single from Unfurl titled "Homage" was released to allow the band time to find a new member without losing the momentum they had work so hard for. It received less press and was less promoted than their previous singles. During the fall of 2008 the search was complete when Jean Kennedy, a friend of the band, joined as a permanent member. She had no experience performing or even playing instruments, but the band felt she fit into the group best out of any potential replacements. While the band began writing material for their sophomore release in 2009, tragedy struck for Kennedy as a family member became seriously ill. It was apparent she would be the caretaker for children during and after the illness, and meant she could no longer perform or work with the band toward their next release. Having to once again adapt to become a three-piece band, the writing was on the wall -- too many changes and set backs were wearing the band down. Soon after Kennedy's departure, live performances ceased other than to book a Halloween show in Boston where they introduced new songs they were working on amongst some covers of their favorite goth songs, including a cover of the Halloween Theme from John Carpenter's Halloween. The band once again spent the winter writing new material. In spring 2010 the band performed a farewell show in Boston, MA, telling the audience they were merely taking a break to finish their next album, leaving the door open for a return. The sporadic performance schedule meant they were reaching fewer ears however; and although the show was well attended it was clearly the end of the line and Burnt Fur disbanded. Harrison moved on to begin a solo project under the name Love Times Infinity and serve as guitarist for Daniel Ouellette and the Shobijin, and the other members dispersed. The band was later briefly featured in the independent documentary "Life on the V: the Story of V66," released in 2014 and shown in several major cities as a selection for independent film festivals that year and in 2015. The film details the rise and fall of the Boston area music video television station V66 during 1985-1986, showcasing local music videos alongside national artists. Burnt Fur participated in the film as the music station was the catalyst to Harrison's interest in performing.

Search | Add | 4 | Vasectomy Leftovers | Nekro-Feelia | Originally formed in 1989 under the name Nekro-Feelia by Josh McCurdy + Dan Seida while the two attending jr. high school in Southern California. Early musical influences ranged from "Enslavement"-era Napalm Death to Crass' "Best Before", to pre-"Black album" Metallica + Discharge. Lyrical examples of the time were primarily focused on impossible absurdist scatological satire, with later examples being much more heavily focused on vagueness + emotions. 1991 saw the duo complete a C-60 cassette on McCurdy's label Hot Damn! Tapes, called "Sex, Drugs, Murder... Art!!", and limited to an agonizing 5 copies. All tracks were recorded live on a ghetto blaster at the home of McCurdy's Grandparents. In 1993, the duo returned with the "Choking On Dental Dams" cassette, which was again recorded live on a ghetto blaster at the home of McCurdy's Grandparents, and released by Hot Damn! Tapes, and limited to around 5 copies. As for instruments, the duo did not use acoustic drums on their first 2 albums. But rather, they recorded all drum parts live using a Yamaha DD6 drum machine, + later, a Yamaha DD7 drum machine. The duo also changed their name, from Nekro-Feelia, to Vasectomy Leftovers, due to a glut of bands with similar "Necro" names within the underground tape-trading scene of the time However in 1994, while attending High School, the duo once again changed their name... this time to Dive!. They recorded their first 4-track studio sessions that year, completing the "Bloop!" cassette, which was released by Hot Damn! Tapes, and limited to 30 copies. It was also the first album by the group that did away with the drum machine altogether (replacing it with a real drum kit). It showcased McCurdy's earliest true-compositional examples, which all were still very basic + primitive at the time, at least in McCurdy's own recollection. "Dan was essentially learning to play the drums at the same time the tape was recording. And we rarely did a second take of anything we ever recorded. Recording our improvisations was just how we wrote our music. Mistakes included.". |

Search | Add | 4 | Jan Hovers | As a child it was difficult for Jan (born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands) to choose. Music, tape editing, assembling booklets, making films. Then he grew up and responsibilities had to be borne - school, home, family, work - first as a program maker for a Dutch public broadcaster and later as a museum director. In the meantime he played in various bands, with which he toured and recorded CDs, but little time was left for his own artistic work. Until he regained his freedom and could eagerly pick up the creative thread of his youth again. In addition to making linocuts and podcasts, he has devoted himself fully to music. In a short time he recorded his debut solo album with mostly collected compositions written over a lifetime (Climb, 2022). In the meantime he also performs with Three Guys Named Joe – a Dutch trio with a nod to Americana. He is currently working steadily on new repertoire, in which he is taking an exciting path by combining music and atmosphere into small auditory landscapes. The first example of this appeared at the end of 2022 in memory of his deceased father, with whom he makes a final journey together in the song (Er Zijn Dan Van Die Dingen (Requiem For Dad)). More new work is on the way. So keep an eye on him!

Search | Add | 4 | Krista Green | Born in Bournemouth, Dorset, Krista Green is a singer-songwriter who has been performing for over twelve years. Before launching her career, Krista discovered her love for being on stage as a dancer, within the Bournemouth pantomimes from the tender age of eight. Learning the drums at fifteen, she treasured playing with her brother’s rock ’n’ roll band and was gifted a guitar for her eighteenth birthday. Whilst teaching herself to play the guitar, she began writing songs and as her confidence grew, she found out that singing and song-writing was exactly what she wanted to do as a career. Krista went on to study performing arts and enjoyed a variety of acting, theatre and entertainment jobs across England as well as song writing, busking and playing gigs and weddings for many years. In 2011, she won the 'Bournemouth Unplugged' competition whilst up against tremendous talent, with a voice described as ‘sunshine’, and a sound compared to the likes of KT Tunstall, Katie Melua and Jack Johnson. Soon after, her debut album ‘Moments With The Universe’ was released in May 2012. As well as being an accomplished solo musician, Krista also played with a band, notably performing under the name ‘Krista Green & The Bees’ around Dorset for the last two years and at present. One of their most memorable performances was sharing the same stage as Nizlopi, supporting them at Purbeck Valley Folk Festival in 2014. In the same year, she released another album titled ‘Stepping Stones’. By 2015 Krista had released three albums, all of which are available on iTunes, and she was no stranger to playing live performances and regularly entertaining new crowds. As a solo artist, Krista currently has a huge repertoire of both popular covers and original material which spans from gentle, chilled vibes to upbeat, catchy tunes; instilled by her mother's love for The Beatles whilst growing up and a love for the same fun 'summertime vibe'. Her covers range from the likes of Vance Joy, Bob Marley and The Fratellis through to Paolo Nutini, Ed Sheeran and George Ezra, showcasing her talent in singing an array of genres. No matter if it’s an up-tempo or a heartfelt track, her original material is always lyrically poetic. During her time as a busker over the years, she met a man called Barry who sold the Big Issue and they became good friends. His sudden passing led her to write ‘Barry’s Song’, a particularly meaningful song from her album ‘Krista Green: Live’. Krista believes that song writing is like keeping a diary and gives you the chance to pour out your emotions, whilst creating something positive. Her talent doesn’t just stop with music. Krista holds a black belt in Taekwondo as well as having the ability to draw and design all of the artwork for her albums. She currently lives in Bournemouth, gigging regularly, teaching music and focusing on her music. Krista continues to work hard and is currently writing her fourth album.
