Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Freres Peur Freres Peur The Freres Peur (Jeremie Lasseuax, Circus Disfus, Gresio Lubbia, Languido Policorvio, Seflü Onglet and Peur Whis) are an European art collective best known for avant-garde and experimental music, multimedia works, famous for being the founders of the Rumedelic Music. Throughout the group's existence, the individual members have ostensibly attempted to operate under anonymity preferring, instead, to have attention focused on their art output. Much outside speculation and rumour has focused on this aspect of the group. In public, the group appears hidden behind a huge Plasmatron often wearing noisy helmets and dressed as elephants. Although the Freres Peur developed a substantial following and generated considerable press coverage, they never released a record until 2013. The Freres Peur hail from Sumanie (France), where they met in high school in the 1980s. In 1986 the members headed south, but after their truck broke down in Arvier (Aosta Valley), they decided to remain there. While attempting to make a living, they began to experiment with tape machines, photography, and anything remotely to do with art that they could get their hands on. Word of their experimentation spread and in 1979, an Italian guitarist and multi-instrumentalist named Gresio Lubbia and the mysterious Circus Disfus (whom Lubbia had picked up in Belgrad where the aged avant-gardist was recording dogs singing) paid them a visit, and decided to remain. The two Italians would become great influences on the band, Lubbia's guitar playing technique earned him the nickname Aquarium Player. The group purchased crude recording equipment, instruments and began to make tapes, refusing to let an almost complete lack of musical proficiency stand in the way. In 1982 the group began to make the first of their unreleased tapes. Rumors have surfaced of two (of perhaps hundreds) unreleased reel-to-reel items titled "Northern ballads of The Dumb Elephant with the Czech Chameleons". The album has never been released in any form, and until 2013 they did not record any albums or single. In many says there are lots of tapes dating back decades, but they were all recorded before the group had officially become "The Freres Peur" so the band does not consider them to be part of their discography. Since 1980 they have performed only in secret and very few live performances, all carried out inside the forests of the Aosta Valley. In 2001 the former member of the band Jeremie Lasseuax left the Freres Peur. He was replaced by the follower of acousmatic music known with the nickname of Languido Policorvio. Until 2009, they have always refused to record their music, stating that the real music is that which does not exist, one made at random. In 2009, the first Freres Peur composition (Black Flesh) in more than 30 years was available on the Internet. In 2013 their first single record will be available on their label "Rumedelic Records". Near the end of 2013, Gresio Lubbia felt some of his own creative contributions were going unrecognised. At the end of 2013, with a recording session already booked to record another album, Lubbia quit the Freres Peur. In January 2014, the group added Peur Whis as the fifth member of the Freres Peur.

He is making waves as a fresh face in Hard House circuits with his mixes and productions such as Rok Da Discotek (which reached the top spot in the Toolbox Top 100 Chart and had a glowing review in Mixmag), his exclusive bootleg of Ian M’s - Temptress (that has been tearing up dance floors nationwide by DJ’s alike), and his mighty remix of Trauma – Wanna Ride (released within the Paul King Remix bundles on the infamous Vicious Circle label), also with releases featuring on Encoded, Hammerheads and We Love Hard House all confirmed for throughout this year. After the short space of only 4 years, he has catapulted his career into featuring regularly for London’s leading Hard House night Twist. He was a firm favourite in their Twist Test Lab which prides itself on showcasing new and fresh talent, giving them a chance to win a slot in the main room, which he succeeded to do and earned his main room debut Nov 2018. He has also featured at events around the country such as Fuzed & Shine, and with 3 residencies under his belt for local underground nights in the Leeds area (Jump, Hard House Hotel & K-Zone), he has now started venturing further afield, featuring on line ups for some of the scene’s heavyweights’ such as Frantic & Twist. 2019 saw Seanie feature on the Hard House Sunday Sessions show on Flex FM multiple times, and play an honourable b2b with his fellow K-Zone resident & partner in crime Adam Butler for the last ever Shine, and concentrated on lots of studio time, further strengthening his collection of hits, including a huge remix of a major classic with Aaron James, who he is also collaborating with alongside Paul King again, this time featuring on Paul’s new album. 2020 has seen Seanie secure himself a booking with Unity In The Sun over in Kavos, Greece, whilst also being a very busy lad in the studio with 7 new tracks under his belt by April, with more bound to follow, make sure you keep an ear out for them and hopefully he'll see you on a dance floor soon

While each being unique, together as one, they create something magical. Bubbling up from the core of bands, Hybrid L has exploded into the forefront of artists in the last 12 months. Jagermeister, Arko, and Level 27 clothing have taken notice and jumped onboard as sponsors for Hybrid L, representing them proudly as they grow throughout the country and the industry. Touring relentlessly all over the southeast from Kentucky to Florida and everywhere in between they have opened for artists such as Alter Bridge, Submersed, Drowning Pool, Silvertide and many more! They have tallied over 120 shows in the past 15 months all on their own. With two prior independent CD releases, their highly anticipated third CD, "Disguises", was released in June of 2005. The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a live DVD, recorded at the Hard Rock in Atlanta, which will include the music video for the single "Yours Truly" off of their third CD. The title track "Face Me Not" from their second CD will be featured on the soundtrack in an upcoming independent film, "Roulette", due out late 2005. "Here's a band with more potential than should be legal. I have watched this band from their beginning and they have yet to stop amazing me. From their intense and energetic live shows to the seriousness with which they approach song writing, this is a band that will do great things."-Greta, Q106FM "Offering catchy rock tunes executed consistently during their live shows with precision and high energy, they always deliver the goods to a constantly growing fan base wave that originated from a ripple in a small pond near Macon, GA."-Jagermeister Tour Magazine Spring 2005.
