Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Mark R Taylor | Mark Richard Bush Taylor | From the composer: I was born in the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, on 7th October 1961, to a working family with roots in rural Essex (NE of London, England), where I still reside. My maternal great-grandfather led the town band on the penny whistle; in 1904, Vaughan Williams collected folk-songs in the road where he lived, though I've no evidence Charles sang to VW! Electrified as a boy of 4 by the sound of my mother playing the piano at home, I demanded she teach me, made precocious progress, and almost at once commenced writing my own little pieces. Very lucky with early teachers, I progressed with scholarships to Brentwood School, where such music as there was remained largely extra-curricular (though Art and Languages were strong). I was chosen to play to Dame Fanny Waterman at a young pianists' masterclass at the 1975 Aldeburgh Festival; after lessons at the Royal Academy of Music with Alexander Kelly (later Head of Keyboard there), in 1978 I gained the ARCM Performer's Diploma, and was Regional Finalist in the BBC 'Young Musician Of The Year' Competition. I was by this time playing concertos with orchestras, including as rehearsal-pianist to the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, having been noticed by their Musical Director when she was adjudicating locally. I'd become a voracious devotee of the BBC's new-music output, and had, furthermore, discovered for myself such seminal books as Michael Nyman's 'Experimental Music: Cage And Beyond', and had now already produced compositions I continue to acknowledge. In 1979 I gained an Open Scholarship to read Classics & Modern Languages at the University of Oxford; before taking it up, in 1980, I played to Jorge Bolet at a week of masterclasses at the Edinburgh Festival. Once at Oxford, I changed subject to read Music; I performed (studying now with Susan Bradshaw), wrote music-criticism for undergraduate publications, ran the University Contemporary Music Group, and joined the (non-University) composers' collective 'Soundpool'. Accepted for Post-Graduate study, but denied a grant by the policies of the Thatcher government, I worked, being asked to teach in the Music Department of Royal Holloway, University of London, from 1986, and subsequently at King's College, London, and in the Music Faculty at Oxford (this latter leading in due course to Lectureships, at Lincoln College, Lady Margaret Hall, and Oriel), whilst also giving pre-concert talks at the Wigmore Hall, and tutoring for the Workers' Educational Association. I had sought out first Howard Skempton and subsequently Horatiu Radulescu for guidance on composition; hailed as 'very different and quite remarkable' (Richard Barrett, in 'Tempo', 1988), and as an early avatar of what would come to be dubbed 'The New Complicity' (Geoff Hannan and others' term, to connote that particularly 1990's aesthetic convergence of the European avant-garde with American Experimentalism), my music -- solo and chamber -- was to be taken up by such distinguished interpreters as John Tilbury, Julian Jacobson, Ian Pace, Carl Rosman, Darragh Morgan, and Michael Finnissy; increasing exposure, nationally and internationally, saw it released on CD on the French 'Do' label in 1992, as well as being broadcast and published. I was also Featured Composer at new music festivals in Oxford (1992), Cardiff ('Explorations', 1999), and London (2000). My close involvement with artists working in visual media has led to invitations to exhibit in my own right, in London and in Amsterdam (this latter, in 2002, under the aegis of the British Council). The recent enthusiasm of New York-based pianist Teodora Stepančić has resulted in her releasing an entire album of my music, on the 'Another Timbre' label (2018). |

Search | Add | 2 | Dreams Yukon | Nicolas Ladouceur | Dreams Yukon EP was conceived and recorded entirely in a boat on Lake Ontario, moored at Toronto's Harbourfront. Nicolas Ladouceur and his partner have spent years cultivating a small-space style of living that lends itself to easy relocation and inspirational oddities. The boat has become the world's tiniest work-space/studio for the couple, as well as being their sole residence. Born in Yellowknife, NWT, Nicolas has found that living on water while working imparts an interesting quality in his art. With a celebrated and world-touring past performing, writing and recording primarily as a guitarist, Dreams Yukon is Nicolas' first submission to the constantly inspiring and innovative world of electronic music. |

Search | Add | 2 | Randy Gun | Randy Gun is a New York City based Guitarist, Bassist, Singer, and Songwriter. Mr. Gun knocked about in New York City’s highly charged Punk/Pop scene in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Gun was involved in the bands or played on records by The New Doloreans, The Randy Gun Group, Harry Toledo, the NYC girl group The Erasers, Arthur Russell, Rhys Chatham, The Jody Beach Band, and David Van Teighem. Mr. Gun performed with the Bill T. Jones Dance Company in 1980 at the American Dance Festival. Mr. Gun also performed with Mr. Jones during the run of “Secret Patures” at BAM. Mr. Gun was an original member of the guitar driven quartet from NYC, The Necessaries. Mr. Gun shared the groups songwriting and lead vocal chores with Ed Tomney, while Ernie Brooks played bass and Jesse Chamberlain manned the drums. Gun’s teeny bop pop served as a foil to Tomney’s industrial pop making the band a savvy mix of styles. The Necessaries first single You Can Borrow My Car b/w Runaway Child was produced by John Cale. Mr. Gun went on to collaborate with Chris Spedding who produced Gun’s single I Apologize b/w I Do. Mr. Gun was also a member of Peter Gordon’s seminal art-rock band of the 70’s and 80’s, The Love of Life Orchestra. Mr. Gun’s guitar work can be heard on LOLO’s many recordings. Mr. Gun continues to perform with LOLO to this day. Mr. Gun can be heard singing in the native tongue of the islanders on the soundtrack of the Tom Hanks film, Joe and the Volcano. He can also be spotted in the HBO series “OZ” cast as a prison gang member. Mr. Gun also scores Film, Theater and Dance projects.

Come artisti italiani i primi furono i vecchi Articolo 31 , Neffa e i messaggeri e 99 Posse. Search | Add | 2 | Tom Pirosok | I'm a busker/songwriter. I sing and play guitar in the streets of Calgary, Montreal, Kingston and elsewhere. I really enjoy the immediacy of it. When I put out good energy, people usually respond. When I have none left, more often than not, some good soul comes around and charges me up! Busking is how I make a living. It's also one way that I stand up for democracy by exercising my constitutionally-protected right to freedom of expression in public space. Musical influences I don't really hear how they influence what I sound like, but I enjoy the music of Bruce Cockburn, Todd Rundgren, Billy Joel, the Kinks, Toad the Wet Sprocket/Glen Phillips, the Cryan Shames and Jean Leloup. Search | Add | 2 | Closet Straights | Heavy pop troubadours Closet Straights (formerly known as Alex & the Shy Lashlies). Comprising of members of Loose Tooth, Bad Family and Pure Moods, this young, scrappy team of talented pop legends from Melbourne are consummately anchored by frontman Alex Lashlie’s affable vocals and easy- going compositions. Musically, Closet Straights cover a bit of ground, from the far out regions of The Velvet Underground’s Loaded era jangle-pop to the vast plains of true-country ramblers such as Sonny Smith and Cass McCombs. Nonetheless, this record is melded together in a nonchalant, warm fashion that ensures these songs swim around your head for a long time to come.

Jorgensen grew up in the Bronx, New York City. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1945, she was drafted into the U.S. Army for World War II. Search | Add | 2 | Leragér | Tom Collins | An immortal classic from the Copenhagen nightlife, Leragér has played anything everywhere. He has been showcasing his exceptional mixing skills in the Danish capital for over 15 years. Though originally a breakbeat DJ, he now plays deep and dirty house music in combination with a love for edits of 70’s funk & disco music. He moves effortless between most genres as long as they encompass the groove, the energy and the melody that is his trademark. His favourite discipline is the long warm up set slowly translating the vibe of the particular club into a room full of anticipation. Though having used music production tools throughout his years as a dj mostly for creating his own edits for dj sets, it was only in 2011 he finally started to create his own original music. This has since seen the light of day on the Danish label Two House Recordings and with remixes for Deso Records. And in 2015 he will debut on the german Audiolove label. Leragér has held residencies at several influential Copenhagen clubs including Culture Box, Copenhagens temple for forward-pushing electronic music. In 2004 he won the Heineken Thirst contest in Denmark, naming him the best club dj that year. Contact: mads@syzygy.dk |
