Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Painted Hearts Australian band, formed in 2005, originally based in Canberra, ACT, relocated to Melbourne. The Painted Hearts were formed in Canberra, Australia in 2005. P.R.Davis sang, played guitar and wrote the songs, Matt Nightingale (later of The Wedded Bliss, Heath Cullen band) played electric upright bass and Kevin Nicol (Noiseworks) played drums. Owen Andrews was recruited to play bass following Nightingale's departure from the band in March 2007. By 2011 Nightingale had re-joined and drums were played by Mike Oakley. Rick Millband took over the drum chair in 2012. The Melbourne based lineup consists of Davis, John Milton (drums), Zoe Frater (bass) and Matt Dixon (guitar). Essentially a live band, improvisational and loose, the self-titled debut album The Painted Hearts was recorded somewhat characteristically in one - whatever goes down goes down - session at Infidel Studios, Queanbeyan in September, 2007 and released in 2008. The second album Volume 2 released in 2011, was recorded in pretty much the same spirit albeit with more of an acoustic sound and sensibility, again relatively quickly over two sessions - this time at Canberra's Cowperson Lounge, through just two microphones. Matt Nightingale rejoined the band on double bass for the Volume 2 sessions and Mike Oakley played drums. The third album, Volume 3, was tracked live once again at Cowperson Lounge in 2014 with basically the same approach, though with the use of a few more mics than the two used on the Volume 2 sessions. Davis and Nightingale are joined by Rick Millband on drums for these sessions.

Search Add 2 Allegiance To No One Allegiance To No One formed in the early '80's in Southend and were based around the nucleus of Andy Brown on Guitar and Mike Wallace on Vocals. They had a brief tenure under the moniker of 'Sandy & The Wheelchairs', and had a temporary drummer called Turtle, but once Danny came in on Drums and Nick from Lasky's came in on Bass, they felt the name 'Allegiance To No One' reflected their take on things far better. Influenced by Classic '77 style punk bands such as The Damned, their stated aim was to write tunes and put thought into the lyrics, covering subjects such as War, Media, Drugs, American Dominance, and lighter style songs about Dallas and The Royal Family. These aims led to a set of songs with titles such as 'Palitoy Boy', 'War Theatre', 'Prince Charles Has Got VD', 'American Trash', 'Allegiance to No One' and 'Who the F*** are Genesis?'. Andy, Mike, Nick and Danny set out to play as many gigs as possible, and played some classic shows with The Kronstadt Uprising at 'Sid's' and the Zero 6, as well as headlining at local venues like The Focus Centre and The Cliff Hotel. A key local show was with Attila The Stockbroker + local poet Ian of Nazareth (aka Skinner Malive). They also managed to start playing further afield, and played with The Lost Cherrees in Brixton and The Subhumans in Stratford, amongst others. After a few years together however, by 1984 things were in need of a change, and to this end Danny and Nick departed, with Danny going on to play in Steve Hooker's Shakers. Around this time, Guy came in on Drums, and John Edwards of The Sinyx came in on Bass. This line up proved to be very solid, enabling the band to concentrate on writing newer songs. Allegiance To No One - Andy, Guy, Mike & John - Live at The Pink Toothbrush 1985Not long after the line-up change, the band put out their own 11 track demo, including such titles as 'Nymphomaniac', 'Wages of War, 'She's Obese', 'But it's Impossible' and 'A.I.D.S.' Speaking to the local press at the time, Andy said "As far as our musical direction is concerned, we are moving away from the "thrash" approach to more involved songs'. The band continued playing and played a lot of local concerts, often with bands such as The Burning Idols and The Armless Teddies, as well as further afield, where they would often hire a coach to bring their followers along. As their sound progressed, they even got in backing singers 'The Fabulous Desparettes' to fill out the songs and help on more complex songs such as 'Tonight Won't You Be My Baby' and 'Do the Perado'. Andy told the Evening Echo at the time "The new image will hopefully be useful because we will now be easily recognisable so people can buy us drinks and we can give more autographs." After several years with the band however, Mike took the decision to step back and John's partner Mandy took over on Vocals. This ultimately led to a name change and the band called themselves The Cat Jugglers and they continued into the early '90's with this line up. Like many bands of the era, they eventually petered by the early '90's, although they did manage to get a track on the Indigo Blue Records compilation 'The Best of The Rest'. They also had quite a prodigious output of songs, and they managed to record many of them on Andys 4-Track home studio and there are plans to release them one day.

Seem to be influenced by bands like Soundgarden or Stone Temple Pilots. The inlay of their album indicates someone named Brian Dasch may have been their manager. The band seems to have been part of a motorcycle club called the Lonesome Losers who have/had chapters in Stanhope, PA and Samsula, FL.

Search Add 2 Norbie Baker Norbert J. Piekarski Norbie Baker was a legend in Milwaukee for years. His real name was Norbert J. Piekarski. He was Polish. (He changed his name to Baker, because in Polish, Picarski means baker) Norbie Baker was admitted to the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame in 2007. Norbie Baker, accordionist, band leader a big star in Milwaukee. Many people loved his records and always liked seeing him perform with the band. Everywhere he played, there was audience, they stood in front of the stage in 10 rows to watch him. Norbie was an accordion player since he was 7 years old. By the time he was 15 years old he played in bars and dance halls around Milwaukee. He formed a group called Norbie Baker's Polka Band after graduating from Riverside High School. The seven-member band played seven nights a week, mostly in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois. He played in bands for the US Army during the Second World War. In 1946 he twins out of service and another polka band started. Norbie made his very first gramophone record in 1950. Norbie Baker's records from before 1953 were released as the "Norbie-Gillie Orchestra" according to the label. Gillie, incidentally, was the tenor banjo player. He is easily recognized in the recordings because he liked to play a bit of string banjo. After Gillie left the band, "Norbie Baker And His Orchestra" became "Norbie Baker And His Polka Boys" and "Norbie Baker And His Music Makers." Gillie did not play with "Gillie's Waltz" a recording from 1953. The band sounded like Yankovic And His Yanks. Frankie was probably even instrumentally present to help Norbie in his Columbia recording contract. Norbie used three Solovoxes on a few recordings such as the Tinker Polka. No other band had ever done that.

Search Add 2 Marvin Short The youngest of four, Marvin was raised on a steady diet of country and rock ‘n’ roll music. His dad worked for a US Army munitions plant that was a 6-hour drive away, but performed on nights and weekends with his Country/Western band, Ken Short and the Drifters. “My Daddy made sure to call it Country AND Western,” Marvin said. As Marvin’s singing talent became more obvious, his dad put Marvin on the stage and let him front the band more and more. By the time Marvin was 10 years old, his dad got him gigs on morning TV shows in Tulsa and Oklahoma City and introduced him to the recording studio where he cut his first track on a record. At the age of 12, he won several honors including “Under 16 Male Vocalist Award” and the “Under 16 Male Instrumentalist” from the Oklahoma Opry Association. These days, he’s rockin’ and rollin’ with six of Sedona’s most talented musicians, 5 nights a week, in his own ‘Rock N Roll Dreams’ show at the Encore Theater Sedona.

Search Add 2 Producto Nacional Spanish R.A.C band start in the end of '80's, beginning of '90's and it was a personal project of a NS skinhead from Madrid, he was the bassist. This is a good live record taken from a gig of the band in a college/hall of residence, included also covers in AC/DC, Lynard Skynyrd and Business songs. After Producto Nacional split-up, the bassist was one of the original members of Estirpe Imperial and he played bass on their first release, a 12" mini-lp with 4 songs. You can heard a very nice Rock 'n' Roll/Oi! sound and great songs like Tu Ciudad (covered by Odal today).

Search Add 2 Unsifted The story of Unsifted begins in 1999 thanks to the musical passion of four friends. Our first line-up, consisting of Dario on bass, Emiliano on electric guitar, Filippo on drums and Cristiano vocals and guitar, was already born with quite clear ideas about the musical genre with which to try our hand: melodic punk-hardcore. Today, in fact, after 4 years, we are doing nu-metal and there are five of us. But let's go back... The first times were not easy at all in fact we were 4 complete rookies, that is no one had ever taken, or almost, the instrument in hand; and I'm not talking about the first saw ... Anyway, without being discouraged by the certainly not exciting results of the first times we found ourselves to try, with a spirit of self-denial, sweat (especially Filippo) and fatigue, after some time we became familiar with our instruments and things improved considerably. In a few months we had already managed to reach our first goal, that is to do "Bullion" by Millencolin in a way that is not decent but acceptable. Then we were composing melodic punk-hardcore songs on repeat and, I swear, some of them weren't bad at all, one above all "skaters" (our most avid fans still remember her!). The germ of a new sound, however, was already creeping into the group and a short time later the first song was born that didn't fuck us with what we were doing, "Smelling plastic people", but it was a success. At our first concert, organized by the Godzilla social center at the Three Bridges, as many as 1 person came to compliment us in person and told us that the song he liked best was just that. From that moment our music began to take a slightly different turn and the group changed its appearance with the arrival of Marco on vocals in 2001, finally defining the genre musical; nu-metal indeed. But the soul and spirit of the first bands that inspired us have not been completely lost and recently someone told me that the reason they like us is that deep down in our music you can still hear the influences of the early days. And in fact he is not completely wrong. From the moment Marco joined the band, the live activity of the group began to be more frequent and, after getting to know us, as much as possible, in the Livorno music scene, in July 2002 we recorded our first self-produced demo which, despite its sonic immaturity, obtained excellent feedback from critics and some fanzines wrote about us: "... the 4 pieces contained in the demo connote and underline the thick and powerful sonority of the band, alternating with melodic spaces of remarkable workmanship. " With this demo we managed to accumulate other more interesting live experiences towards the end of 2002, including a truly unforgettable one at the central Telethon show in Piazza dei Cavalieri in Pisa. Beautiful because we were able to play to the fullest of our potential with an excellent system and high professionalism of the people who worked at the event, but above all because after us nothing less than "The cousins of the countryside" are mounted on the stage !! Executioner, what moments ... (With all due respect to the country cousins and their hairstyles ... At the beginning of 2003, like any newcomer group, we began to participate in the first competitions and events both at a regional and national level and thanks to the participation in "Sanremo Rock", where we won the regional selection that took place at the Blus Up in Venturina. , we were able to play in several well-known clubs in the province of Pisa and Lucca, up to the national final which took place in Sanremo in February 2003 (it was cold and we were dying) where, however, due to health reasons, our bassist he was replaced for the occasion by the very famous Daniele Catalucci (Virginiana Miller). In the provincial context, on the other hand, it is worth noting the excellent experience of the "rock emergency" competition which saw us reach the provincial final and consolidated our position in the Livorno music scene. Thanks to this event we got in touch with the organizer of the show who will supervise the realization of the new promo-cd that we will record in September
