Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Spastic Vampires Spastic Vampires was a project of the Luxemburgian singer/mourner Danielle Spartaque, the Belgian death-metal-drummer Patrick Delacroix and the Belgian techno-producer André Oiseau. Their dark and powerful sound exploded especially during their countless liveperformances, when sound, light, fog and screams built up a very special mood of fear. Their name is a title of a poem by the German writer Gottfried Benn.

Search Add 3 Jet Corporation The Jet Corporation was founded in 1984 with John Oglow and Danny Bloudoff. While the group initially recorded in a house on the east side of Vancouver, a downtown warehouse space was acquired in the spring of 1985 which was converted into an after hours nightclub on the weekends while serving as the group's studio space during the week. The late night parties held on the weekends were an opportunity for the group to showcase their latest recordings among the rest of the strange sounds which were to be heard. Eventually, the popularity of the parties drew the attention of the local law enforcement which forced the closure of the facility. These encounters with the police are commemorated in the recording V.C.P.D. which was released on the Security cassette compilation. The group also released a limited edition cassette of its recordings titled Antimatter which was reviewed in Profile magazine in the August, 1985 issue.

Search Add 3 Blaque Jaque Shallaque Started as Skin Deep around 1971/72. Skin Deep eventually morphed into Bill The Murderer around 1977. The line-up: Steve Aldridge (guitar), Pete Downes (guitar), Dave Tattum (vocals), Dave Pendrey (drums), Ian Cramer (bass) and Patrick Cramer (keyboards). In 1978, Bill The Murderer recorded a 7” single pairing the songs “I’d Find You” and “Spring Rain”. The single was self-financed by the band. Next came Blaque Jaque Shallaque, the name stems from a cartoon character who was a French Canadian lumberjack. Formed around 1981/82, the band included Dave Hogg on drums plus Rob Downing on guitar (both were also affiliated with Angel Witch). “Blaque Jaque Shallaque recorded demos at Bronze Studios and also there was some live stuff and rehearsals recorded,” remembers Dave Tattum. “We used their studio to record stuff with engineer and producer Mark Dearnley, who was a friend of Dave Hogg’s from his involvement in the first Angel Witch album.”

For this "mission" he recruits Peruvian, same drummer of L'Impero delle Ombre, Francis Probus and Gabriel Goya on guitars and Nicholas Lestat on bass, giving life to debut "Reborn from the Ashes", pure Heavy Metal horror-concept mini album (22 minutes) featuring as very special guest Steve Sylvester (Death SS vocalist, John's real point of reference) on first track. Vinyl edition includes 4 pages insert with comics and Cd.
