Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Luis Groove | Luis Díaz Ferrero | With some renowned tracks and remixes on labels like his very own Lowpitch and Overall Music, and with a career that dates back to the 90’s in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. Luis Groove surely is one of the rising artists in the spanish underground music scene. Whether it's because of his role as Label Manager on his own digital imprint Lowpitch for the last 4 years, where important artists of the new electronic music spanish wave like Hanfry Martinez, Javier Carballo or Julian Perez had their very first releases on the market. Or because of his U Wanna Escape? party hosted in clubs like Sankeys Ibiza with guests of the like of Sonja Moonear, Maayan Nidam, Alex Picone or Binh. He has shared the booth with every top artist on the scene and his sets have been heard from all around Europe at clubs and festivals like Altavoz Festival, Tag Club (Venice), Chalet, MFG Club (Berlin), Cirque Paradis (Paris), The Ditch (London), La Ruche (Laussane), Goa @ Fabrik, Weekend, Charada (Madrid), Velvet, Heaven (Gran Canaria), Miniclub, Friends, Foc in Festival (Valencia), Sonar Off, Life Parade (Barcelona) and now based in Ibiza at the most of the clubs and events around the island like Ushuaia Beach Club, Space, Pacha, Destino, Booom or Privilege. All this, leaving behind important residences last years like Sankeys, Plan Be, El Ayoun in Ibiza or Club 7 Madrid. And in Tenerife being part of the most biggest events like Eolica Festival, Magma Meeting or Sunblast Festival playing almost at every edition and warming up the dancefloor for people like Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola or Luciano. His very first residence was with just 18 years old at the Club-Afterhours BB+ Tenerife, where he left a deep mark in the whole scene, after ten years (1999-2009) in front of the saturday night and sunday morning sessions. With an experience and a musical background that only years can give, his sets guarantee quality, class and know-how. The energy and charisma he transmits to the dancefloor in every set is reinforced by his style, always versatile and chameleonic, oscilating between raw deep house, tech funk or dub techno, with a high doses of breaks and filtered disco. Passionate and romantic about the good old analog sound, vinyl records and everything old school related, Luis holds the groove in a perfect balance between modern and classic, effective and sofisticated. Something that he want to show in a new project with his partner in crime Fran Cabello for this upcoming new year 2014 landing a new “only vinyl” record label. With future releases of Luis Groove as a new alias “Ferrero” and colaborations of artists like Alex Picone or Julian Perez. |

Search | Add | 2 | Plástev | Plástev | This jazz quintet sprang into existence in exactly the same mysterious way as it melted away after 1987. At the beginning was the sound of an electrified bass clarinet which in the hands of Eduard Kuhn sounded differently than in classical music. This player appeared as a guest of the jazz-rock group Jazz Fragment, which brought him together with pianist Aleš Faix. And when the bass clarinet and the piano were joined by the flute, it laid the foundations of the group which began to call itself Plástev. The band finally formed and settled with Eduard Kuhn – bass clarinet and saxophone, Jiří Šilhán – flute, Aleš Faix – piano, Jan Střížovský – contrabass and Ivo Kalvínský – percussion. This way Plástev played in the jazz clubs Parnas and Reduta, shot its TV profile in The Musical Studio M and toured Germany and Italy. Each member at that time also performed with another band which weakened Plástev to the extent that it finally became silent. This continued up to the year 2011 when Aleš Faix invited his former playmates to his birthday party and asked them directly whether they would like to revive the band. It might have been thanks to their elevated mood that they agreed and began to occupy themselves with the resurrection of the band. The reconstruction of the original music required a whole year of practising, but several new pieces for the alto saxophone came into being during that time as well. Plástev recorded them in St. Lawrence's Concert Hall in Lesser Town of Prague with the help of the Steinway piano masterpiece. The album »Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel« is a cross-section of both the original and the new repertoire and Plástev disproves the thesis that »nothing improves with age«. After twenty-five years its members are more musically mature and they play with even greater vigour and enthusiasm than before. To refresh your memory, the album also contains two tracks of the Czech Radio from the 1980s – The East spiced with Indian tabla and the jazz-rock version of the Vervain. |

Search | Add | 2 | Southern Syncopaters | Swedish jazz band from Malmö founded 1987. They are trying to recreate Hot Jazz from the Roaring 20’s, which is a blend of very well written arrangements of popular songs and the spirit of jazz with improvised solos. The strategy has been to not directly copy old recordings, there is no chance to be as good as the original anyway, but by using exactly the same stock arrangements that was used by Coon-Sanders, Fletcher Henderson, King Oliver and many more. And just as they did, use their own arrangements as the foundation and then spice them with own solos, song choruses, and some joyful visual effects that unfortunately can’t be reproduced by an audio CD. It has been a long and tough work to get hold of these old original stock arrangements, but thanks to some contacts and tours to jazz festivals both in Sweden and even to the US, the collection of stock arrangements is now getting quite extensive.

Search | Add | 2 | Piet Karregat | My name is Piet Karregat. Born in 1979 in Purmerend, then raised in Volendam. After 28 years moved to Amsterdam Southeast. I lived there for 11 years. As a bizarre coincidence, I decided to move to Enschede at the end of 2019. Due to the good sale of the house, I was able to fulfill some wishes. Including this LP. After traveling through Ireland with my parents, I was given a tin whistle as a memento. A while later, with barely the Vader Jacob repertoire in my pocket, I decided to apply for a job with a band. Actually hired, but almost immediately “fired” again, after which I founded the band The Irish Wolfhounds together with my later band colleague, Sjoerd van Ravenwzaaij During that time I learned to play various instruments and expanded the repertoire considerably.

Search | Add | 2 | Eugene Dowling | Eugene Dowling | Eugene Dowling (? - 2015) - Tuba player: Eugene (Gene) Dowling took up the tuba at the prodding of his school band teacher in Grade 6, while he lived on a farm in Michigan. He began teaching himself music beyond class assignments, entered festivals and received positive feedback. He studied under one of the foremost brass teachers in the world, Arnold Jacob of the Chicago Symphony, and was picked up by the Victoria Symphony at 26. He has performed with tenor Peter Pears and bass Giorgio Tozzi and under top conductors, including Georg Solti, Claudio Abbado and Carlo Maria Giulini. Dowling and his unwieldy instrument also joined a Dixie band, backed up the likes of Sarah McLachlan and the Moody Blues. His recording The English Tuba received a Juno Award nomination and he said a career highlight was recording Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto in F minor as a soloist with the London Symphony. Colleagues say it remains a seminal recording for tuba players. In Victoria, he played with Pinnacle Brass Quintet, the Bastion Band and others. |

Search | Add | 2 | Brinley Woodall | In March of 2023, after creating an elaborate concept EP the month prior, Brinley Woodall, the musician behind the project, Socially Ill, was hit with an ounce of inspiration after hearing "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure. Within two months, a concept spawned out of seven tracks, guitars, drums, MIDI instruments, and synthesizers swell creating cohesive musicianship. The two tracks featured on Bandcamp are an introduction to this idea. The album's concept explores depths into the human psyche of an obsessed lover; who disassociates from reality; then reality hits with depression knowing her crush will reject her. Inspired by one EP and three albums from bands that were not known by the mainstream (The Influents, Summer Fazed, Ultra Q, and ZigZag Hearts) both hailing from Oakland, California, The Cure’s alluring tales of love, Oasis’s iconic brit-pop tone, nihilistic philosophy, and Edgar Alan Poe's cynical and dreary poetry. Later in the process, Bob Dylan’s acoustic ballads, lyrical, and vocal ability intrigued her, and then Beck’s track “I Think I’m Falling in Love” was a lyrical inspiration as well. The band Neutral Milk Hotel’s 1998 release, In an Airplane Over the Sea, was also a foundation for surreal lyrics and storytelling. Sage of the Fire Dragon The album opens with the track "Sage of the Fire Dragon" as a synthesizer opens following a flood of sound with swelling guitar, and drums. The lyrical content is the narrator being introduced to her crush, questioning if the crush cares about the relationship the two supposedly have. Later, alcoholism and coping mechanisms are addressed, and the person has to deal with day-to-day life with constant anxiety and paranoia. Love Letter of Self-Deprivation An alluring, haunting, and nostalgic reminiscing of the riff, "In Circles" by Sunny Day Real Estate and The Cure opens this ballad epic. The track demonstrates the narrator's obsessed tendencies towards the crush, learning more about his self-destructive coping mechanisms as the song progresses. The track's chorus is "Influents" inspired by the words "some people care what you say, others want to ruin your day, others have no reason, but you crave a love letter of self-deprivation." The song also references Shakespeare's comedy, Midsummer's Dream. Summer Phase Summer Phase is the third single and final single for the album. This track reminisces on the pop punk music from the 1970s to the present day. It has inspiration ranging from power-pop legends: Cheap Trick, Television and alternative artists: Pixies, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Deftones, Alice In Chains, and Summer Fazed (hence the title). In the story of the album, it is about the lover believing they lost the person they are fascinated with believing they have a chance together. Information about Socially Ill Socially Ill is a solo project formed in Perkinston, Mississippi by Brinley Woodall; during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic's social distancing measures and the artist's socially anxious nature, they started the solo project. Inspired by the 90s grunge rock movement and the past to present Southern California indie and punk scenes, their influences range from bands like Green Day, Nirvana, Metallica, Ultra Q, and Grumpster. Socially Ill's first EP, Mental Prisoners of the Mental Prison was initially released on February 17, 2022. Their second EP, The Chronicles of Problems with Internal Consciousness, was released on Bandcamp on February 12, 2023. Their second EP was released on other streaming platforms on April 24, 2023, through the distribution service, RouteNote. The ZigZag Hearts, The Influents, Summer Fazed, Oasis, Bob Dylan, and The Cure are Socially Ill's current influences. Their debut album, Love Letter of Self-Deprivation, will be released on October 10, 2023. "Special thanks to Greg Schneider (of the bands: The Influents, Summer Fazed, & ZigZag Hearts; photographer; cinematographer) for giving me encouragement for making this happen!" -Socially Ill, The Chronicles of Problems with Internal Consciousness; Bandcamp
