Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Alphonse Stallaert Alphonse Stallaert was born on March 1st in Helmond, Netherlands. He studied law to come up to his father's expectations, as his father, a banker who had set up a firm, wanted his children to take over. But he could not resist the call of music and eventually got his father to allow him to study music for just one year. Therefore, in 1941, he both learnt how to compose and conduct an orchestra at the Utrecht Conservatoire with respectively Hendrik Andriessen and Bertus Van Lier. Respecting his father's ultimatum, within one year, he got the diplomas which normally required two academic years. Armed with his diplomas, he conducted Philips firm's orchestra in Eindhoven for a year; then, in 1945, invited by Sir John Barbirolli, he underwent a period of training at the Halle-Orchestra in Manchester. He arrived in Paris in 1946 with only 100 francs on him, studied counterpoint for a year, rue de Madrid (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique) and was given conducting lessons by André Cluytens and composing lessons by Arthur Honegger. He then formed his own orchestra composed of 92 French musicians with whom he gave his first concert in Paris. Unfortunately, the following year, for want of subsidies, he had to turn his symphony orchestra into a string orchestra composed of 36 musicians. With "The Paris String Orchestra" (Orchestre à Cordes de Paris), he gave several concerts in Paris, and went on tour in his native country; among others, he performed in the large Amsterdam concert hall, the Concertgebouw. Unfortunately, he had to give up his passion for lack of money. Yet, he was asked to conduct French orchestras such as Lamoureux and Pasdeloup orchestras, as well as Dutch orchestras like the Brabant Orchestra, the Overijssel Philarmonic Orchestra and the Dutch Chamber Orchestra. In 1951, his first work "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" was performed at the Besancon festival by the R.T.F. National Orchestra (Orchestre National de la R.T.F.); it was conducted by Raphaël Kubelik and included the pianist Daniel Wayenberg. During the same music season, this concerto was performed again, successively by the Conservatoire Concert Society (Société des Concerts du Conservatoire), conducted by André Cluytens, and by the Pasdeloup Orchestra which was conducted by the composer himself. This creation was followed by several performances in France and in the Netherlands and Philips produced a record of the work performed by the Brabant Orchestra conducted by Heins Jordans. While giving private tuition, he composed the symphony "Les Ames Maudites", later entitled "Symphonia da Requiem", made two piano sketches for his friend D. Wayenberg, and an opera, "Myrdhinn" Read more / Source: http://www.stallaert.fr/index.php?p=biography

Search Add 2 The Dark Sinatras Mark White: Guitar, Vocals, Drums, Piano, Vibes Eduard Laubinger: Drums, Piano,Trumpet, Vibes Paul Turner: Bass Guitar The Dark Sinatras' unique sound, sometimes ominous and sinister, sometimes tinged with ethnic theatre, was originally forged in the cold, unforgiving clime of Russia's punk clubs and watering holes where songwriter, guitarist and singer Mark White played for around 17 years, Mark met Eduard Laubinger, a Kazakhstani gypsy drummer, at a free jazz recording session at Mosfilm Studios in Moscow in 2006 and their first collaboration; Godnose, was born. Featuring several other Russian musicians, the Godnose project lasted until 2008. During this time Mark also undertook several other projects in the role of artist/producer including the recording of Tuvan Throat Singers in an endeavour to explore different soundscapes. Also during this time Mark collaborated with independent film maker Yaroslav Dobronravov which resulted in a number of independent films including a video for a new idea; The Dark Sinatras. After his return to England, Mark was having some tracks mixed at Hook End Manor by sound engineers Bradley Spence and Charley Russell, when he was introduced to bass maestro Paul Turner of Jamiroquai. Paul had just completed some session work with Annie Lennox and relished the idea of completing a power trio. A jam session followed and an exciting sound was forged, prompting a week-long recording session, once more at Hook End Manor. The resulting recordings are a highly inflammable mix of new songs and a rearrangement of some of Mark's earlier compositions. Paul's hard funk sound meshes perfectly with Edward, and the trio take older compositions into uncharted waters. A live studio recording, "Sick Society", with engineer Alex Beitzke at the console, is the result of the band's efforts. The whole experience was recorded for posterity in a mere week. As the album was mixed, a number of special guests added colour and texture to it; Tallulah Rendall adds vocals on three tracks and Nigel Kennedy also plays violin to some alternate arrangements of three songs. These are available on an EP soon to be published by DefectoscopeSounds (including the song Sins of Ignorance which was recorded exclusively by Mark and Ed from scratch in one day). A series of live appearances is now underway offering the rock world a chance to experience the drama and power of The Dark Sinatras at first hand.

Search Add 2 Boris Solotoreff Boris Solotareff Boris Solotareff (October 23, 1889 – July 1966) was a Russian painter. He was active in Munich, Switzerland, and France, but spent the majority of his career in New York where he became a naturalized American citizen in 1949. Solotareff made use of a variety of styles; according to the Benezit Dictionary of Artists, his "work was in the mainstream of Eastern European Expressionism, with influences of Art Deco from the time when he lived in Paris." Solotareff's paintings have been exhibited widely, including the "Cinquantenaire Du Symbolisme" exhibition at the Bibliothèque Nationale (1936), the Vendome Galleries (New York, 1938), and the "Exhibition of oils and water colors" at the Charles Barzansky Galleries from October 1–20, 1940. Born in Bender, in the Bessarabia Governorate of the Russian Empire, Solotareff began his art studies at the Russian art school in Odessa, Ukraine. This went on until he turned 18 in 1907 when the artist moved to Munich, Germany enrolling at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste. After seven years in Munich, Solotareff moved to Lausanne, Switzerland. In the six years he stayed there his style underwent a change from the German Impressionist style that inspired his Munich paintings to one more influenced by Fauvism. In describing two of Solotareff's paintings from that period, "Meadow of Wild Flowers" and "Farm in Lausanne", James Gardner wrote "The paint has been thickly applied in elongated, energetic jabs that sway and pulsate in every direction like schools of fish. But only the surface seems agitated. Farther down there is the deep and reassuring calm that seems best to typify the Russian artist's sanguine disposition". The year 1920 found Solotareff traveling in France and Italy before settling in Paris where, under the influence of [a=Pablo Picasso] and [a=Marie Laurencin], he began to paint in a more neo-classical style. While in Paris, Solotareff was a member of the Salon des Indépendants. In 1937, the artist moved to New York, where he lived and painted for the rest of his life.

Search Add 2 Walter Dlamini Walter Dlamini was a singer whose repertoire, the veteran DJ Max Mojapelo suggests, was somewhere in between Jacob “Mpharanyana” Radebe and The Movers’ Philip Malela. Walter’s soulful singing oozes charm and sensitivity, and it glides across the melodies of the other musicians with incredible ease. A native of Wattville, a township close to the city of Benoni, Walter had joined the music industry somewhere in the mid-1970s and began recording material for the Fire label. His music formed a part of the quiet move from what might be termed “traditional mbaqanga” to the more organ-led, American soul-infused sound of the late 1970s. It was a sound that had its roots within mbaqanga music, but one that closely aligned itself more with Afro wigs, flares and platform shoes than skins and tribal costume. When Walter came to Gallo-Mavuthela in 1978, the sound was being replicated there already by producers West Nkosi and Marks Mankwane and groomed to replace the traditional mbaqanga sound that the company itself had popularised more than a decade previously.

Search Add 2 No Loves No Loves formed in 1996. They are originally from St Petersburg, FL but have resided in Nashville, TN since 2014. Most of the material is written by founding singer/guitarist, Jim Putney. From the backwoods of North Carolina, Curtis McCall has played lead guitar with the band since 2007 and Bassist, Steve Merkel has played two stints in the band in each state they've been based in. Drummer, Bo Dinski from Columbia, TN is on the new record but now plays for the band in a fill in role. Nashville punk rock veteran, Marc Gould is now the bands full time drummer as of April, 2017. Thier sound is melodic yet aggressive and based on early blues based Rock 'n' Roll and Old School Punk. Their secord full length release, 'Plum Crazy' is available now in purple vinyl on Stiff Pole Records and features cover art by Greg "Stain Boy" Reinel. Some of their past achievements include an east coast tour in from Florida to Maine, opening for national acts such as Nashville Pussy, Supersuckers, and New Bomb Turks, two music videos, and playing live on Tampa Bay community radio station, WMNF 88.5 (Surface Noise show). They've had songs featured as 'local buzz cut of the week' twice on 102.5 The Buzz in Nashville. They tour regionally throughout the year and have ambitions to play overseas.

Search Add 2 Bernard Arbus French pianist. Bernard Arbus is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique de Paris, second prize winner at the Montevideo International Competition, and holds a master's degree in musicology from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris and a bachelor's degree in literature from the University of Paris 4. He is a professor of music didactics at the Ecole Supérieure de Pédagogie et d'Education d'Aquitaine, for the MEEF master's degree in primary and secondary education He has given numerous recitals in Europe and the United States and has made two recordings of the piano works of Dom Clément Jacob (1908-1976) for the Lira d'Arco and Calliope labels, which have been acclaimed and rewarded by specialist reviews in France and abroad (Diapason, Classica, Le monde de la musique, Record Geijutsu, Platéa, Piano international). His concerts and recitals always give pride of place to forgotten French and foreign composers such as Dom Clément Jacob, Gabriel Grovlez, Théodore Dubois, Josep Soler and many others whose works, however magnificent, remain unjustly neglected. Dividing his time between teaching, research, conferences and concerts, he tries to share and understand the fundamental and archetypal values of music through the illumination and exegesis of the works he performs. His field of research is that of piano learning and its effects on the cognitive ageing of the elderly, in particular through the creation of an adapted method for seniors.
